To be FAIR and BALANCED…..and being fair to PLT at the same time……

I know Mr. Thompson is more than capable of defending himself.
Outside of the almost nauseating attempts to present Herbert as some one of great academic talent, I would say , we still have to give thanks, that there is an organ such as BU, to air and vent our thoughts, on what is one of the most significant issues, since independence.
This discussion, proves beyond a shadow of doubt, that once we continue to hide race relations along with the distribution of wealth under the carpet, our country will remain in a form of true democratic infancy. I note that the Nation newspaper, which is black owned, almost had a black out on this issue and I am certain that letters, to the editor about this issue will scarcely be published. I remain very cynical about any Information Act becoming the avenue for free expression; the legislation may turn out to be nothing more than smoke and mirrors but for now, I give the government the benefit of the doubt.
Finally, I must say that PLT, is usually quite balanced and exceedingly polite in his contributions unlike some party/political minions,

I don’t know whether Charles Herbert, Rogers and Prescod are guilty or not guilty.
The main fact is all three are alleged to be responsible for trafficking drugs on Ecstasy Yacht which was brought to Barbados from another Caribbean island.
However I have my suspicions based on a number of facts including how Charles Herbert openly said in his video how he was treated by both Drug Squad Police and CID OVER 5 DAYS.
There was almost a news blackout until Barbados Today broke out this story. Then when the picture of Prescod was released all hell broke loose and information was put out there to make him the mastermind and sole orchestrator based on a previous conviction by the media, something leads me to believe that the information was shared to the Press by the same Police.
Also I know a lot of inside information on who does what among the major players in BIM (White,Black,Indian,Syrian). Rogers and Herbert are no strangers to the Barbados Underworld same as Prescod.

Is Mr Herbert an executive or non-executive chairman of GEL? Has he been suspended following the allegations of drug smuggling? What about his position in the BPSA? Is he a member of the executive committee of the Social Partnership? Is he a paid up member of the BLP and, if so, will he be suspended until the outcome of his court case?

No, it’s not loyalty. I was at Kolij at the same time as Herbert, but I have always though of that school as a corrupt, decadent, and deeply destructive institution. Herbert was head boy; I was the shit disturber who refused to serve as a prefect. My personal belief that Herbert is not guilty of the criminal wrongdoing with which he is charged has nothing to do with loyalty to him or school tie. Neither is it “support,” Herbert has no need of my support and my support is of no consequence. My belief is simply my opinion.

Am I to assume that you already know the answers to all the questions you have asked? I hope so because they are trivially easy to answer. However, in case your questions are actually questions rather than some other rhetorical device, here are some answers from public sources.
Mr Herbert is an the non-executive chairman of the board of GEL.
He has not been suspended from the board: “Mr. Charles Herbert still remains the Chairman of the Group.
Mr. William Putnam, the Deputy Chairman of the GEL Board of Directors, will be acting in the role of Chairman until such time as Charles Herbert can resume his official role as Chairman of the Goddard Group.”
The BPSA has said that they will convene a meeting to discuss Hebert’s chairmanship within the next week.
The BLP does not, to my knowledge, publish its membership list.
Rawdon Adams is not connected with “Bittcoin” but he is the CEO of Bitt Inc.

If a butcher has several pigs to gather together and slaughter, I suspect the process would begin on Friday night and end on Saturday morning early when all are accounted for.
Smaller scale farmers probably started early Saturday morning, larger scale operators would have been going for hours earlier.
The GEL website under its governance tab is clear the composition of the BoD based on Articles of Association.

Charles Herbert became Chairman of the Goddard Group of Companies on 5 February 2013, following the retirement of Mr. Joseph N. Goddard. Mr. Herbert spent 15 years of his professional career with The Barbados Mutual Life Assurance Society, now Sagicor Life Inc. (“Sagicor”), and at the time of his resignation from Sagicor, was a member of its Senior Management team responsible for the Actuarial, Group Insurance and Pension Departments. A Barbadian by birth, Mr. Herbert, a Barbados Exhibition Winner in 1974, achieved First Class Honours in his B.Sc. in Mathematics from the University of Edinburgh. He also holds a Diploma in Education from the University of the West Indies and is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries. Prior to joining Sagicor, and on his return to Barbados from Edinburgh, Mr. Herbert served his alma mater, Harrison College, as an Assistant Master. Following his sojourn at Sagicor, he joined the firm of Watson Wyatt Worldwide as a Consulting Actuary before establishing the Barbados Branch of Eckler Limited in 1996, where he is currently the Principal. Mr. Herbert has worked closely with the Barbados Employers’ Confederation, the Supervisor of Insurance, and more recently, the Financial Services Commission, on the drafting and implementation of the new Pension legislation.
