I emailed Minister Abrahams the following, I am hoping that he receives many hundreds:

Minister Wilfred Abrahams,


You have failed to protect the vulnerable girls at GIS by removing all the staff who are implicated in the systematic torture of children by routinely incarcerating them naked in a bare concrete cell for days and weeks on end.

This treatment was contrary to the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. It was also in breach of Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I understand that you have ordered that such torture not be repeated, but you have left the torturers in charge of the institution and you have left vulnerable girls in their charge. Furthermore, you have publicly stated that you have confidence in the staff who inflicted these inhuman and degrading assaults on vulnerable children.

Your catastrophic error of judgement has made me deeply ashamed of my Government.

You have left me no choice but to insist on your immediate resignation from your position as Minister of Home Affairs, Information and Public Affairs.

    we always knew this was for the long haul and our future generatons will complete what we started. Some just don’t know the depth or width of these crimes against Black humanity….but those who are conscious are ACTIVE…and that is important…don’t even have the time to explain it in much detail anymore…the only priority is to get rid of toxic politicians and racist minorities out of Black lives..that is a battle that am committed to see to its conclusion…….and put the awakened on the path that they will recognize.

    William…we always knew we had it right, given the volumes of information over time, it was just a matter of sifting through and finding what could start the necessary cycle. Now we are right where we knew this would lead. Now for the real work, that has already started. Am sure you are also doing your bit.

    William understands perfectly well what he was trying to tell me, based on the information he has, it has nothing to do with sowing discord, he has more info than i do and knows that we are still fitting pieces together…he used to be among those crabs, so he actually has a volumes of intel…am sure he is using it wisely..

    It’s an old trick. Frankly speaking, no pun intended , I see it as a source of laughter. Now why would I even want to sow discord on BU ?
    I find your writings and thinking to be in concord with how I have viewed Barbados since I was fourteen .
    It is very refreshing to have people who still see the country as it is .
    We have had nearly six decades to at least try to correct the basic socio economic issues.
    Along the way we, have seen some progress but it’s not where we want it.
    We can’t even send our children to places of rehabilitation without treating them to tortuous conditions.
    We just fooled ourselves or were fooled that poor Black children without electricity and basic tech tools could go online.
    That’s why we can’t give into propaganda because after all the talk it is really the poor Black people who pay the price.
    The struggle continues at all and every level. The people will rise up sooner or later.
    You bring a positive message and that’s what I respect.
    The struggle continues for justice for our people.
    Keep up the excellent work.
    May all the political prostitutes, who daily join with others and oppress their people rot in the political hell where they surely belong.

    that’s exactly where we plan to SEND them, because they have no intention of giving up their corruption or returning HUMAN RIGHTS TO THE PEOPLE, it will have to BE TAKEN BACK ….and PURGE the island of this evil and its hosts…. in Black lives..

    just check how they violated the tenets of the constitution….now we have to share all the laws they hid and used slave laws and codes on the people in its place, so that those who never knew, now know that the constitution ALSO APPLIES TO THEM and not just a bunch of thieving racist minorities….

    just the thought of having your rights taken away to keep a fraud system alive at the expense of descendants ….is disturbing..the fact that none of them from Adams, Barrow onward were useful because they were too coward and trifling and these new negros since then, too corrupt and greedy to even have a conscience..

    don’t think those tw*ts understand the ramifications of taking away constitutional protections from the African population FOR 54 YEARS…so they could run a slave society and pretend to be slave masters…..now they are the talk of the town…and every man woman and child with intellect must know about it for the next 10 GENERATIONS…..and beyond…they have overstayed and overplayed..

    What point are you trying to make? The politicians or so-called political class is made up of men and women who played cricket in the villages, went to school and Uni with many of us on the blog. They are not aliens from out of space. What we are trying to change are norms that have created power structures in the society. It certainly should not be a surprise to you that these structures exist in all societies some more than others. This is not a Barbados condition. Some of you on the blog have no problem demonizing Barbados to the world. This blogmaster will n ot be party to it.

    “Yet another young attorney is appealing for urgent action on the issue of police brutality in the face of allegations from a client about injuries sustained whilst in custody.

    Krystal Fenty has joined the ranks of lawyers and activists challenging the structure of the Police Complaints Authority, which she claims “fails to hold officers accountable”. The 29-year-old attorney is even more concerned about the heightened risk posed to persons held during curfew and the uncertainty about whether attorneys can have access to their clients.

    In a recent Barbados TODAY interview, Fenty revealed that one of her recent clients who is also represented by attorney Ashley Felix is preparing to take action against the Royal Barbados Police Force (RBPF) on a number of serious allegations. She has also launched an online petition in an attempt to achieve meaningful change on the issue.

    Fenty’s client alleged that whilst being held, he was constantly told that he did not need an attorney, although his lawyers were at the front desk of the station. He added that while in custody, someone knelt in his groin, he was constantly struck with a hard book and was told that he would be placed alone in a freezing room until he admitted to the crimes in question.”

    “In response, Attorney General Dale Marshall argued that unlike in 2020, authorities determined that such an exemption ought not to be extended to approximately 1400 members of a ‘non-essential’ profession.

    But according to Fenty, the AG’s position could create a breeding ground for citizens’ rights to be trampled as she and other attorneys received no response after submitting requests for curfew passes.

    “I have applied since the end of January and up to this day, I have not been contacted, I have not been called and I have not been issued a pass. So essentially, any clients that I have, I must see during the time that I am allowed on the road,” the attorney told Barbados TODAY.

    “When you have a client who has called and said they want their attorney, they don’t have access to their attorney, which is a right provided for by the Barbados Constitution, and that indeed is a problem,” she added.”

    Now we see how that man, the merchant, who breached curfew protocols ended up dead….backward leaders, a backward court system that could have put him under house arrest because he was serously ill and the court was told so by his lawyer…but when they want to show how much small island power they have over people …this is what happens…

    Yup, David! Those Georgia laws are like Jim Crow all over again! Your black ass must stand in lines deliberately lengthened by closing down polling stations, shorter opening hours, ID checks etc. and it is now illegal for politically affiliated groups to bring an old woman water after she stands in line for eight hours.

    I have a cousins in Atlanta. Rather them than me!

    I am terribly offended that you would attempt to put me in some category of people who ever referred to my island state as backward. But that’s the way you are , anything for a cheap shot at a person who has never negatively said anything about Bim. All of my comments about Bim are based on critiques of social , political and economical development issues. Never once have I ever referred to Bim as backward or anything of that nature.
    Go in the libraries of the Advocate and Nation where you can read my social commentary, years before you were born .You have greatly disappointed me.

    Please quote where William Skinner has ever “demonized” Barbados. I criticize the same political class you critique. Where have you ever seen me write anything about a “Barbados condition”. Try “being a part” of honest debate and stop attempting to drag me into your childish machinations.

    “The renowned Barbadian musician Jackie Opel, who is credited with inventing the spouge genre of music, and any remaining family members, have now lost all rights and income to his work due to the time period Barbados currently allows for materials to be copyrighted.

    And Chief Executive Officer of Copy Right Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (COSCAP) Inc. Dr Erica Smith is raising an alarm that this could be the case for other creatives and entertainers in the future if local authorities did not make the necessary adjustments to the law.

    Under Section 10 of the Copyright Act, Barbados allows the term of copyright to last only 50 years after an individual has passed away, which means Opel, who died on March 9, 1970, and his relatives will lose all right to his work beginning this month. Anyone could now easily recreate his work and earn from it.

    As such, Smith said she was calling on authorities to move with haste in amending the law to allow for the extension of how long a work of an artist can be protected by copyright in Barbados.”

    It’s been years there were complaints about this injustice regarding Jackie Opel, although they had more time than they needed, they refused to lift a finger and allowed this man and his family to lose all rights to his work…..instead of making the requisite changes to protect the family…then some with barely two braincells would come on here and post pure shite…..

    We can debate the fainess of the timeframe. It is the same, however for all races.

    Nonsense….the time frame should have been changed 10 YEARS AGO…some COVETOUS MINDED negro in the government is planning to steal and sell out this man’s body of work….some people, myself included don’t have to worry about losing copyright for 70-100 years and there are ways and means available to keep it going….the man’s wife and family is still very much alive, they had YEARS TO CHANGE IT…it’s BEEN YEARS the local artistes said this would happen…..and the wicked in DBLP maliciously did nothing.

    KEEP ALL YA CREATIVE WORK OUT OF BARBADOS…they will rob your family their inheritance as usual…

    I can’t even imagine how Jackie Opel’s family feels to lose all his work because SAVAGES and SELLOUTS believe it’s TOO GOOD for them, this man’s wife was still alive until recently…..these beasts are WARNED EVERY YEAR for the last 5 YEARS by local artistes in the newspapers to EXTEND THE LAW so this would not happen, AND THE THIEVES REFUSED…

    no one should have their copyrighted work lost because of corrupt governments….it’s supposed to last at least 100 years or longer AFTER THE CREATIVE LEAVES THE EARTH. so that descendants can benefit….but with the level of THIEVERY and SELLOUTISM on the island…this man’s family did not stand a chance..now the world would know to steer clear of Barbados if you are a creative..

    I have a friend who sent some info to one of the 2 fraud governments on the island re proposal that they were asking for….he contacted them to find out why he did not hear anything, they told him they weren’t interested…..10 YEARS LATER….he saw the concept being tendered out in the newspapers and called them up right away and told them don’t use his F-ing work…goddamn thieves and frauds….they always feel what belongs to the Black population is too good for them..

    The WORLD systems are racist. Highlighting racism is not racist. Fighting racism is not racist. There is no such thing as black reverse racism.

    If the world were not operating, as she said, by a colour code, dehumanising blacks and distorting their history and present day story in order to justify their savage racist constructs, there would be no need for blacks to correct them or to seek to destroy their barbaric constructs.

    The fight is for equality and justice. Hence the spoils from slavery still flowing into white men’s pockets should be paid to the descendants of those who actually worked for them. Any white man who clings to the inherited spoils of slavery and uses them to maintain the status quo is guilty of perpetuating injustice. Those blacks who aid them are also guilty.

    These are the issues that nearly sixty years of Independence have overlooked. In the meantime a white Bajan group, went on to make millions singing folk songs by going to old people and getting the lyrics.
    We play Jackie Opel once or a twice year and that’s about it.
    There is a lot of work to do; mountains of “discord’ to sow by just speaking the truth.

    connected to skin colour

    yet when children are just learning about colour
    they pick up skin colour is different from all other kinds of colour

    I have followed this story for YEARS where the artistes have BEGGED BOTH GOVERNMENTS TO CHANGE THE LAW…to save Jackie’s work from PREDATORS….when the copyright protection is over….ANYONE CAN USE THE MUSIC without permission and make millions of dollars….DISENFRANCHISING HIS DESCENDANTS who won’t get a dime…..and as we all knew would happen…both governments refused to change the law…they had years to do so…

    and these crabs got the nerve to face Africans and call them “my brothers and sisters” and claim “we survived minority rule”…FRAUDS…
