Your message to the BLOGMASTER was sent

I emailed Minister Abrahams the following, I am hoping that he receives many hundreds:

Minister Wilfred Abrahams,

You have failed to protect the vulnerable girls at GIS by removing all the staff who are implicated in the systematic torture of children by routinely incarcerating them naked in a bare concrete cell for days and weeks on end.

This treatment was contrary to the United Nations Convention against Torture and Other Cruel, Inhuman or Degrading Treatment or Punishment. It was also in breach of Article 5 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

I understand that you have ordered that such torture not be repeated, but you have left the torturers in charge of the institution and you have left vulnerable girls in their charge. Furthermore, you have publicly stated that you have confidence in the staff who inflicted these inhuman and degrading assaults on vulnerable children.

Your catastrophic error of judgement has made me deeply ashamed of my Government.

You have left me no choice but to insist on your immediate resignation from your position as Minister of Home Affairs, Information and Public Affairs.

Yours sincerely,

Peter Thompson

  1. They obviously believe their little SMALL ISLAND POWER gives them the right to torture children, steal from the elderly and their beneficiaries…allow racist and thieves to discriminate against and ROB AFRICANS….and all the other evil crimes they take such glee in committing against the people just because they KNOW they can’t fight back…

they are high up on their bully pulpit…

well get yo ass down…..ya evil has expired.

  2. Paula, you reasoning is faulty. In the stabbing case, the pincipal, teachers, etc., people in authority did not stab that kid. In the gis case it is the principal and so-called teachers and workers, people in authority over the children, who are directly responsible for the torture of the 14 year old.

“Pastor Baird has come out swinging, hard!
GIS chair, outspoken pastor, in stout defence against critics – GIS chair, outspoken pastor, in stout defence against critics:”
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    (Quote)
Dr Baird said she was prepared to follow all the rules and regulations as she executes her responsibilities.

The chairman said she is embarking on her new assignment totally reliant on God and the full support of the other board members.
“I will work assiduously with the other members of the board to get the job done. The change must come and we will do that. But right now I am trying not to listen too much. I am just waiting for when the investigations are done to go in and do what needs to be done,” said Dr Baird. (Unquote).

Even before a first sitting in the Chair of that correctional institution the lady Rev. is showing an overabundance of misplaced understanding of her own self-importance.

She is not being ‘selected’ to act in any role of chief executive officer (CEO) but merely in an ‘Advisory’ capacity to the Minister.

She is a mere papier mâché political replacement to the previous person who sat in that paper-tooth chair full of ‘executive’ holes.

Until that correctional institution is reorganized- both legislatively and administratively- the goodly pastor must restrict her ‘executive’ powers to her own Pentecostal church money-making affairs unless she is prepared at the behest of the political directorate to perform the role of an illegitimate executive “chairman” similar to what pertained at the BWA under a previous administration.

  5. Have a good day Theo..

Miller…now everyone sees what these wicked sellouts have done from 1966…..the Slave laws and Slave codes stayed on statute from then until now to APPLY to the Black majority ONLY …but the constitution and ALL ITS REVISED VERSIONS…only applie to racist thieves and other mnorities, so they get to freely practice racism and discrimination FREELY agains tthe people and rob them too, all without consequences…and they planned to keep it that way FOREVER….it’s been like that since 1966…from Barrow……that is what Angela Cole has been trying to tell everyone, and nearly lost her life…

i have been telling people FOR DECADES that something is VERY WRONG on the island….now we know..

baird can swing…mine IS WIDER…..hope she don’t get caught up…FRAUD.

  6. The likes of Trevor Prescod knows this as well but bottomfeeders would sell their own mother….for a job, a salary…

he can keep the information, we have ways of finding out things….no one needs to hear him now, he can’t use it anymore anyway, they are all PLAYED OUT..

  7. A lawyer was trying to tell me something during the Tiny Tempah affair with RACIST sandy lane, but he was concerned for his safety…now i know what he was trying to say…

“(1) Subject to the provisions of this section-

    (a) no law shall make nay provision that is discriminatory either of itself or in its effect; and
    (b) no person shall be treated in a DISCRIMINATORY MANNER by any person acting by virture of any written law or in the performance of the function of any PUBLIC OFFICE or any PUBLIC AUTHORITY.”
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

A good piece of referencing to show how the GoB consistently breaks the highest Law of the Land with impunity.

We shall see if the menu of leftovers of draconian and discriminatory laws from a culture based on slavery and colonialism will be transferred lock, stock and barrel into the age of republicanism.

Only 7 months to go before we see who is really fishy and foully in their pledges to the people.

There is No excuse for not adopting and enshrining in Law all the human rights to which the GoB has ratified as a member state of the United Nations since it joined the club.

Just look to South Africa as your model to enfranchise the people in keeping with the policy of reaching out to the Motherland.

Why not become the rainbow nation of the Caribbean?

You, Barbados, cannot claim to be a friend of all and satellite of none unless you give the people the freedom to do and say the same.

You cannot call yourself a ‘democratic’ republic unless all citizens have equal rights under the Laws of the same republic.

  9. @Miller

Some of us are aware a few special people have the capacity to function above a job description.

  10. What the pastor will discover is that the CHILDREN at the GIS are not evil, not possessed by demons, not wicked.

    But impulsive.

  11. “There is No excuse for not adopting and enshrining in Law all the human rights to which the GoB has ratified as a member state of the United Nations since it joined the club.”

they were practicing their FRAUD on the UN…i don’t want them leading me anywhere, they are repulsive and will never change from being sellout nigas…

how long have they been told to REMOVE THE SLAVE LAWS AND SLAVE CODES OFF THE STATUTE BOOKS and they REFUSE because that is what they USE AGAINST and to CONTROL the African population…but they can keep them there…when them and the racist, thieving minorities are in prison, someone else will remove them…

see now why i told the Black population…to REMOVE THEMSELVES from this dirty system that the black faces will not dismantle…..they will double down on it as a republic…and still keep the slave laws and slave codes active against the Black population.

  12. Miller…now we know where the term “two barbadoes” came from and what it really means, been hearing it since we were children, how many times have we heard it over the decades along with “the white shadows” secrets all those sellouts and frauds in the parliament, judiciary and bar association have been hiding.

So what were Marsha Hinds-Layne and her ‘boss’ the Johnny-came-lately’ Rev. Tudor son of the comically-nice libertine randy promiscuous Joe doing if not acting and thinking outside their confined box of cover-up?

This is a ‘politically pawned’ person with very deeply etched-in-stone views- like the biblical commandments- about things which young people are not burdened or saddled with like the same scandal-ridden overweight materialistic jockey on the horse of hypocrisy.

How many young people do you think hold such strong one-sided hypocritical views about same-sex relationships and marijuana in a modern world with social media and access to the modern tree of knowledge about both good and evil called the Internet?

Isn’t the god-fearing preacher woman a ‘confirmed’ advocate against the use of marijuana in any form?

Hasn’t this same formerly raging Christian fundamentalist wolf in sheep clothing, in recent times, been conveniently silent on the legalized use of the same plant for the profitable money-making medicinal purposes?

Isn’t she now boisterously active in trying to perform the role as an agent of transformation for the same administration which sees the same plant as a herb which can be used for good instead of evil and even as a ‘profitable’ source of recreational happiness?

Shouldn’t the evangelically upbeat preacher-woeman – instead of being bedecked and parading in materialistic bling which against her own biblical teachings- be railing against her own god-forsaken mechanism called a Referendum by which the same young people of Barbados must make their indelible mark in order to remove the scourge of years of wicked hypocrisy?

  14. Don’t forget, with the human rights violations at Dodds children area, they also contracted with the same criminal minorities to keep the prison going…that needs looking into….it’s in the ICIJ database how many of them are involved in that prison,.they won’t just stop at violating and torturing children, they would level up the human rights violations…..because there was no one to stop them….

  15. @Miller

The woman has a track record of community work. Let us give her a chance.

  16. @Dame
    @OG

An understanding of the concept of in loco parentis would reveal students are entrusted to the care of teachers and non-teaching staff who are to act in the place of a reasonable parent.

In education law that concept forms part of a teacher’s duties. That is why teachers’ responsibilities include more than teaching.

  17. “Isn’t the god-fearing preacher woman a ‘confirmed’ advocate against the use of marijuana in any form?”

    a bible thumping fraud..

  18. David,

A chance to do what? That limited view of the world is a serious problem. The answer to Miller’s question is – the average young person does not hold old timish Lucille Baird style views on same sex relationships and marijuana and a whole lot morem. I doubt she could understand where the average young person is coming from.

Unless she can put her views aside and not try to convert everybody, she could do more harm than good.

But then again she would not be having contact with the children.

There should be no religious indoctrination in the programming either.

  19. @Donna

Her role as Chair is not to preach to anybody.

  20. Ubelieveable….Dr. Death “praises” abrams on the “handling” read COVERUP of the torture of a child…..by keeping the torturers employed, guess we should giver her credit for calling for ALL THE STAFF TO BE FIRED.

“St Philip North MP Sonia Browne has called for the entire staff of the Government Industrial School (GIS) to be sacked as a way to restore public confidence in the reform school.

Although Brown praised Minister of Home Affairs Wilfred Abrahams on his handling of the controversy that reportedly involved a leaked picture of a naked female ward in apparent solitary confinement, she stressed that the institution needed to be thoroughly cleansed of all current personnel.”

  21. @WARU
Thank you very much. I want to write the article in detail because it ties into not only the system as well as the basis of “Identity” that was forced upon us. Many need to hear and innerstand this because it explains the REALITY of why these things happen. Nothing can stop the truth (or me) from coming out with this information.

Now with more of these events , these beings are trying to use others to cover up quickly and that means using other people to distract and create another distraction to divert from this situation. This means this issue being exposed put them in DEEP TROUBLE and are becoming desperate in their ways to regain fake “control” of the narritive. The key is observing what goes on bececause everything is a chain reaction and not get to caught up in it because nothing is a coincidence , when you see the starting line and can pinpoint it , you will be easily able to trace events that are all interconnected to one another. Their fake power is slipping out of their fingers and they do not know what to do.

This situation that occurred, it is not a fight against gender (as many Barbadians are misinterpreting , however I understand why looking into similar circumstances for boys will be brought up because in this society, boys are overlooked) , this exposing the system that is against children whom are unwillingly held back , brainwashed, ignored of their rights , harmed psycologically and physically and as a result partake in self destructive behavior as a reaction to this broken , dysfunctional system that refuses to assist , let alone protect them.

I saw in the article you sent that BAR could not wait to throw out ” delinquent” to describe the child , a classic case of blaming the victim.
Those with colonial mindsets need to be removed or step down because their role in the system to blame and project when these occourances happen , showing that they too are a part of the issue. If a person has no heart to assist and fix the issue , then they are a part of the problem.

This system is guilty of terrorizing the youth and plays the victim and has the audacity “demands respect” (or blind loyalty to the colonial ideology they uphold) for striking the first blow and will use their agents to spin the narrative to manipulate the population to gaslight the victim. It worked before however not this time because this system is playing with the Afro Barbadian lives and they need JUSTICE.

About the DNA Test , don’t knock it until you try it. It is better than knowing and taking the step to relieve the mind from countless chains that willfully remaining in a state of dreaming because it is comfortable. It is better to be mentally free than turn the other way because it will come go a point where reality (that is unwillingly pushed on us and perpetrated by others that look like you and me) will have to faced and if you are not prepared mentally , that weakness can be used against you. It is better to have a foundation, than one the enemy created for you.

I can also go into the way the youth are constantly held back starting from the home and then it is brought into the school system and trickles down into the society like a ripple effect.

It is strange how youth are targeted from the time they are from the womb (some toxic parents that are victims of the system that react in ways to harm the child and the child mimics the behaviour and absorbs the trauma and tries to escape or renacts the behavior learn) and the system constantly talks down upon , generalized , looked down upon and labeled (especially the ones that do not follow the archaic education system or come from broken homes that are unwillfully labeled and abused by said system) however it is all by design.
It should make a person think that “if the youth are “supposedly” every negative adjectives under the sun , then WHAT is the cause of them behaving in this manner?” I stated it before however it goes deeper than what is looks on the outside. The intention to mass produce another broken generation to be manipulated to be stuck in the system and commit acts of spiritual warfare against their own by traumatizing them to the point where they are lost in the system and repeat the behaviors to cope with that trauma (usually unhealthy) to the next generation.

  22. @WARU
They are really trying to pass this off as normal that is why you see this happening.
“If a lie is told long enough it becomes the truth” comes to mind.

The reasoning is this ” if x amount of people in (fake) power agrees with the act of covering up and people see it hopefully the populatiob can settle down and “forget” about it. ”
Then the acts continue in secrecy possibly at a more violent manner lor way as a form of “punishment” thst they were caught.
That is why the whistle blower was targeted in the speech by the Minister. In order to be a “warning” to create a fear in others from discouraging others from speaking out by looking at the act , than the action itself. However this caused the opposite effect than what they were expecting and are now in the process of damage control.

  23. Population* my apologies for the grammatical error.

  24. War on UUU…
makes a lot more sense talking about Human Rights laws breaches that have superseded redundant slave laws and her argument may have legal standing that can fly

  25. 555…because they KNOW the slave laws and slave codes were superceded by the various amendments to the constituion over the years and they STILL IGNORED THE CONSTITUTION and proceeded to misuse and weaponize the slave laws and codes against the Black population….and there is no END OF PROOF of what they did…,,this one they cannot hide, the supreme court is FILLED WITH PROOF and so is everywhere else….they knew they were safe as LONG AS THEY INSTILLED FEAR IN THE POPULATION….but forgot the loose ends who don’t fear sellouts..

“If a lie is told long enough it becomes the truth”

“hopefully the populatiob can settle down and “forget” about it. ”

they know about the short memory syndrome in the population which people HAVE SAID FOR YEARS HAPPENS BECAUSE THEY AND THE WICKED MINORITIES TAMPER WITH THE WATER SUPPLY…..and that accusation is starting to look credible, given what we know…

they know they are safe, OR WERE…because Bajans will not go digging into the constitution to learn about their human rights or digging for information on ALL OF THEM….and the employees all want to keep their jobs so they will keep secrets …they do so even when they not forced to shut up…they don’t share information with each other, but will give all the info to the first minority they see…..serious programming..

  26. I understand for a long time people could not get access to copies of that constitution in its entirety, now we know why, they were hiding the laws that can literally HANG THEM..

  27. War on UUU

Forget about the slave laws as they have no legal standing and can not be used as an excuse to justify their breaches in law

  28. You still don’t get it, those slave laws WERE FORCEFULLY LEFT ACTIVE….and IN USE….it’s abolition obviously WASN’T RATIFIED or PROCLAIMED…that is what they call it in Barbados…OR THEY COULD NEVER BE IN USE and on statute books..

.I EXPLAINED that to you recently when the dude found the unratified slave laws from 150 years ago, in Mississippi i think it was, back in 2013…, which has since BEEN RATIFIED so it has been effectively abolished…

there is a process…..these clowns in Barbados draft laws and they are never ratified, ie the anti-corruption etc…still sitting on what;s her face the GGs desk, probably got 6 more drafts by now.

refusing to abolish slave laws IS NOTHING FOR THEM…..those laws have to be removed..

either way, they all need JAIL TIME for what they have done for decades..they are a danger to the Black population

  29. Let me break it down further…

the constitution was around from 1964 or thereabouts before 1966 …Barbados is still to ratify its own constitution…this one belongs to UK..they drafted it….the clowns of parliament have amended it about 20 times by now, Mia did her own frivolous amendments….in the last 2+years…. the constitution DOES NOT APPLY TO THE BLACK POPULATION…but the ACTIVE SLAVE LAWS AND SLAVE CODES DO…

as a Black person you cannot get justice at the supreme court…because you do not fall under the safety net of the constitution…the sellout nigas won’t allow you….you heard me talk about ALL THE PROOF of human right violations at the supreme court right…..try not to lose me…

you can’t do this, can’t do that….can’t even keep a viable business going for any length of time, unless you connect with those greedy crabs which means either extortion/bribery etc…they will take you down if you don’t play their nasty games…and sellout your business to some stinking minority……so the CONSTITUTION IS NOT ON YOUR SIDE….and it should be, but they won’t allow it…

I gave you the simplest example…

  30. And we haven’t even gotten to all the land they have been stealing from the Black population since 1964 OR BEFORE…..another violation of the Constitution…..using the slave codes where Black people can’t own property…….they rob the elderly and their beneficiaries….no protection from the constituion…i posted that specific law, they use violence and everything they can use…and DON’T PAY THE PEOPLE FOR THE LAND THEY STEAL….

  31. I think BD’s slave laws have been archived but another sticking point is the GoB makes the constitution and might try to claim they can do what they like without breaching laws. Human Rights laws are used to hold Governments accountable and I presume Barabdos has signed up. US constitution (13th amendment) permits slavery for prisoners, but I do not think Barbados has similar rules.

  32. right…they don’t have a 13th amendment, but that will never stop them from using brutal slave techniques on prisoners….it always bothers…just say, something is not right..

but ain’t that something though, let me say this again, it sounds so right and JUST….the supreme court has THOUSANDS OF CASES….that are PROOF, LIVING EVIDENCE that there is HUMAN RIGHTS abuses on the island in violation of the CONSTITUTION….they did not conclude those cases in over 30 years…AND CAN’T NOW…they allowed it to BACKLOG for too long, waiting for claimants and this one and that one to die…

  33. nearly forgot..

THOUSANDS OF CASES….that are PROOF, LIVING EVIDENCE that there is HUMAN RIGHTS abuses on the island in violation of the CONSTITUTION…and INTERNATIONAL LAW…

  34. This island is like a separate world, still running like a plantation forcing everyone to beLIEve it is normal. They use apharthied laws , brainwashing to keep colonialism alive , hijacking of OUR story and using minorities to spread propaganda with no basis of evidence and fake Pan Africanists to promote a Eurocentric view on Africa (it is not a country it is a continent) and cannot even tell most of population where in Africa their ancestors are from , segregation starting from the time a person is in school , hijacking of spirituality along with the icing on the cake, forget the countless amount of Lodges on the island and outright symbology of a certain organization that does not care to hide themselves and many of the population does not blink an eye if they hear the word casually refferenced in the media… If you know you know what I am referring to. I have a feeling these beings are definitely using something people cannot comprehend (not going into this in detail) to keep the country bound because as I said before over 50 years and the country still feels stagnant , just in a more modern structure and holding onto ideologies which are not for the black populations best interest in mind. That should sound off some alarm bells in a persons head. Many of our people are being used against us in order to keep the performance going. Truly some times we are living in , it is best if you that is reading right now to let all of this sink in and process everything that is being unveiled before your eyes. Some occourances are much deeper than many of us were (unknowingly) programmed to think as reality or “normal” when it is not.

@WARU can you go into detail about the water supply? Does it have in fluoride? That is an ingredient used to block the pineal gland and used to be weaponized in order to mind control people if consumed in excess. In other words it puts your conciousness in a state of unawareness and the person will be more likley to be controlled. I would not be surprised if this was the case.

  35. @Paula, you still don’t get it. The child at Ellerslie (I think it was that school), was stabbed by one of his peers. What do the teachers and principal have to do with that behaviour. It is up to the parents to let the children know that knives are not for school and right from wrong. Were the teachers/ministry to install metal detectors? At the gis, it was the superiors who tortured the child, not her peers.

  36. Caswell they are violating the constitution AND international law…..amd no one has done anything about it UP TO AND INCLUDING THE BARBADOS BAR ASSOCIATION…this CANNOT GO UNPUNISHED…they all know what they’ve done.

“Senator Caswell Franklyn has called for the removal of the management team at the Government Industrial School (GIS).

Speaking yesterday during debate of the Appropriation Bill 2020, he said: “I am calling on Government to remove the entire leadership of the Government Industrial School and institute an investigation into the abuses that [are] going on there.”

Referring to the story which gripped Barbados for the past two weeks about a 14-year-old ward at the school being placed naked in a solitary confinement cell, Franklyn said that was not the only atrocity that had taken place at the reform school.

“These things were going on for years and nobody has done anything about it,” he charged.”

  37. “I have a feeling these beings are definitely using something people cannot comprehend (not going into this in detail) to keep the country bound because as I said before over 50 years and the country still feels stagnant , just in a more modern structure and holding onto ideologies which are not for the black populations best interest in mind.

yes, flouride is the compound being called that these evil bajan whites and the traitors in parliament are said to use to keep the Black population’s memories shortfused…and their mental state docile…this is no secret….we always knew something was very wrong on the island but were too young to understand that level of evil, did not know we were watched in case we figured anything out and even when grown did not have the necessary information to form opinions.

..they keep their CRIMES AGAINST AFRICANS WELL HIDDEN and black faces in the community help them. I have said on here how severe my allergies can be and i don’t drink the water because it made me very ill already and i had to have radical surgery, that was when i started to suspect something was VERY wrong with the water supply….and then people started talking..

  38. I see heads of universitites across the divide are saying if Beckles’ contract with UWI is not renewed it’s a travesty of justice, no, the travesty of justice AND CRIMES AGAINST BLACK HUMANITY…includes allowing trash governments in Barbados and evil racists in the minority community to get away with the crimes they commit against the Black population….that is the travesty right there, especially if Beckles don’t call for their arrest in the international arena…

that statement leads me to believe that many people outside the island know exactly what’s going on…there has never been any ethics practiced in the parliament, judiciary or bar association, and that created an environment of no justice or equity for the Black majority in Barbados

“They said they are particularly worried that the renowned Barbadian historian’s contract may not be renewed because of his outspokenness on issues of justice, equity and ethics.

As the globe-trotting chairman of the CARICOM Reparations Commissio Sir Hilary has spearheaded the region’s advocacy for the Caribbean’s former slave-holding and colonising European states to honour the historical debt owed to the Caribbean through slavery and colonialism.”

  39. David,

I cannot imagine that woman operating outside of her bigoted religious views and narrow, rigid ways. I cannot see her doing anything other than attempting to remake everything in line with her beliefs.

There is more than one way to preach. It includes the influence over policy and procedures, programmes and their design, apart from setting the overall tone and attitude of the institution.

I had a younger workmate years ago whose mother belonged to HER church. I spent many an afternoon listening to the stories out of that church. My workmate and her four siblings saw her from close up the exact same way as the Miller sees her from afar. They saw through the act that their mother had swallowed hook, line and sinker and tried to force down their throats as well. I was not surprised by what I heard. That is precisely the impression I had formed of her. She had always rubbed me the wrong way. She seemed too much about her own image, glitz and glamour.

In my opinion she is a controller who will try to operate outside of her remit. It is not uncommon among chairpersons of government boards in Barbados to do exactly that.

I could be completely wrong, of course about her. I sure hope so!

    But I doubt it.

Just yesterday I dismissed Althea Wiggins as a poser who somehow manages to ingratiate herself with people in certain circles. I understand from my best friend that we were on campus together but I could only remember the name and not any interaction with her. So…. not a remarkable person.

Maxine I knew from school days and also as a lecturer on campus to be as genuine as her brother Wendell is said to have been. No airs and graces. No fuss. No ego.

So Althea’s accusations against Maxine did not ring true.

My best friend, who still communicates with Maxine laughed at my description of Althea as a poser and promptly sent me her profile picture in which she is POSING with the GOVERNOR GENERAL.

    Bulleye!

Comes from reading Agatha Christie books. She was the boss at defining and describing personality types.

Baird fits perfectly into a well-known type.

  40. @Donna

You maybe correct. There is too much chicanery. Regarding Baird as Chair this is just it, she is Chair of an advisory board. What can she do?

  41. The Wiggins outburst is unfortunate especially coming from an independent Senator.

  42. and i personally don’t give a RAT’S ASS about any reparations tug of war between them and UK/EU…that can be settled AT ANY TIME….my only concern at this point is to get the parliament traitors and the criminals in the minority community out of the BLACK POPULATION’S LIVES…PERMANENTLY…

  43. David,

She can give bad advice, firstly. And secondly she can insert herself where she does not belong.

Aside from that, I think that the issues at that institution are not as simple as many are making them out to be. I spent many many hours at the boys section as a mentor and had many long interactions with Ronald Brathwaite, and he is not an ogre.

The laws, policies, procedures and programmes and facilities need urgent overhaul to bring them into the twenty-first century in line with the new understanding that comes with the continued evolution of humankind. The mindset, attitude and approach of staff needs a reset. Some staff members need to be removed. Others need to be retrained. This has long been recognised and acknowledged but as usual, implementation deficit struck again!

    The story of our lives.

So business as usual continued until COVID caused a pause long enough for the population to focus. And now they are demanding change so vociferously and in a more sustained manner. And the young people have come into their own!

    I am hopeful.

As I said at the beginning of this pandemic, “Every cloud has a silver lining!”

And sometimes there is even a rainbow!

Baird’s appointment is a political master stroke. Whenever the politics and governance of a country are under intense scrutiny and disquiet ensues, the best strategy is to involve popular members of the clergy/ religious community, to psychologically strengthened your grip on the populace, especially a public , that consider themselves to be Christian and or religious.
Remember, how the then Dean of the Cathedral Harold Crichlow , went after Barrow and the DLP every Sunday.
I don’t know anything about Ms. Baird but I suggest , she did not become such a powerful influencer in national affairs without some skills.
I however am with Donna that GIS has been exposed for what it is.
I go further and opine that the entire country has been laid bare because of COVID.
For the very first time since independence, the people are seeing some, not all, of what has been swept under the carpet for donkey years.
Bajans seem to be a bit more awake. It’s a good thing. We certainly need to be.

Hope you are wrong. One can only hope in the same way Marsha reacted on the previous Board, members of the current GIS Board will do similar given the glaring spotlight on the school.

  46. “I can also go into the way the youth are constantly held back starting from the home and then it is brought into the school system and trickles down into the society like a ripple effect.”

those violations are very prominent and start in the schools, they are now doing it openly with the way CXC deliberately PUSHED BACK the region’s children progress by at least 30 years….the local version of KILLING progress in individual kids to keep them locked into general poverty and inablitity to escape is very condensed…it’s a system of DBLP and minority evil to keep themselves on top….and the population always needy….this is the end of the road for all of them..no matter what lies and fraud they come up with now, cannot erase what they’ve all done…their greed always superceded reality…in their quest to pretend they are slavemasters.

  47. William…was hoping for your opinion, but fell asleep before i could ask..

“For the very first time since independence, the people are seeing some, not all, of what has been swept under the carpet for donkey years.
Bajans seem to be a bit more awake. It’s a good thing. We certainly need to be.”

it took lots of effort to get it that way to reach this place in time, and noted is the fact with all these revelations, crimes against Black Bajans since 1966…the people have gone eerily quiet….and we all know what that means.

What is still alarming is the fact that even here on BU some don’t want to face the realities of post slavery/ colonialism. There is a fear to even bring themselves to admitting that the playing field is still not level. When they can’t bring a serious defense they get very personal.
This struggle that we fight will be won by children not yet born.
Don’t let them derail or frustrate you; they will falter and fall by the wayside, like all the detractors who went before and those who will come after them.
