The Prime Minister has finally started cleaning house, but Wilfred Abrahams must be next. Under his watch, the Caribbean Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) is in financial ruin. Yet, while hard-working employees suffer, Abrahams ensures that his red-skinned favorite gets every overseas assignment and that a young woman from his constituency office collects a CBC salary for doing absolutely nothing.
Meanwhile, the Fire Service headquarters is over budget, the Government Industrial Schools are in shambles, post offices are shutting down left, right and centre and we’re still waiting to hear about the costs and reports from the Barbados Prison Service. His Public Affairs Department has been handed a pile of taxpayer money, yet it barely has five staff members—so where is all that money going? And after all his talk about “early warning systems,” our fisheries industry still took a major hit from Hurricane Beryl. Disaster follows Abrahams wherever he goes.
He does nothing in his current role, except when he gets the chance to play Attorney General—his real ambition. He has failed every single department under his control, wasted public funds, and rewarded friends while services collapse. Prime Minister you remember when you used to say Freundel must go, well change it now to Wilfred must go. Wilfred Abrahams must be fired. Barbados deserves better than a minister who only shows up when there’s power to grab.
Fire him now! Free Willy.
