“drop samuels roach and ramdin for the last test”

    Georgie Porgie,
    I can second that motion.

By the way, we heard that Samuels would not have been given out LBW if a replay had been called for by the West Indies.

That begs the question, what strategy does the WI use to determine when and when not to appeal the umpire’s decision? Samuels’ wicket was lost at a very critical stage. Since it was LBW, maybe the decision was worth appealing.

In this test, the WI bowled 1002 legal balls. Only 6 of those balls captured wickets. 382 of those balls resulted in 730 runs being scored. The Australians smacked 61 of these deliveries(10 overs) to the boundary.

    Bowlers needed.

  2. A case of winning a battle but losing the war.

David Warner was engaged in a running war of words with two giant Windies bowlers – and the Aussie opener lost the battle. Warner now has a worse average against West Indies than he does against any other Test nation.

VIDEO: Windies show Warner they won’t be bullied

  3. Good effort by Windies.

  6. Jason Holder “Our bowlers still need to be a lot more disciplined than we are at the moment. We need to find ways to control the game a lot more. Although the pitches have been very good for batting, we still have to find ways to contain the batsmen. We’ve been allowing them to score on both sides of the wicket, and we haven’t been able to contain them and control the game thus far, having them run away at certain stages of the game”.

The more I read this, the more I get vex
For your explanation leaving me more perplex
Our bowlers cannot play test cricket
Just trying to get the ball up the wicket
How come that is not a problem for Australia
    Or even newcomer Namibia

Even if what you say is true then blame somebody else
The bowler made the team but didn’t pick he self
How on earth did we make selection
    Nationalism, favoritism or outright corruption
Man we got to pick a true West Indian team
Forget picking by island and select the cream

Man skipper, you should hold your head in shame
You too have to take some of the blame
    So the wicket taking spin
And you put a fast bowler in
Now you all over the place saying this and that
Not even mentioning how you and your batters collapse.

  7. aCTUALLY JASON HAS BEEN THE MOST ECONOMICAL OF THE BOWLERS IN EVERY INNINGS………AND HE HAS MADE RUNS

HE DIDNT MAKE HIMSELF THE CAPTAIN

British former world heavyweight champion Frank Bruno wants to return to the ring at the age of 54.

Bruno, who has not fought since being knocked out by Mike Tyson in 1996, has been suffering with bipolar disorder in recent years.

However, he told ITV’s This Morning: "I’ve been in the gym all the time, that’s why I want to come back into boxing."

Asked if it was a good idea, Bruno replied: "I haven’t got a choice."

Bruno, who made his professional debut in 1982, says he returned to the gym to burn off energy and does not like to be "mugged off" when challenged by younger boxers.

"I can’t sit down and let these so-called promoters say Anthony Joshua can knock me out in two rounds when I’m not even dead," Bruno added.

However, Bruno later said that his agent had been told by the British Boxing Board of Control that it would not accept his application for a licence.

Comedian Paddy McGuinness tweeted about Bruno's interview

  14. HOPE HE IS LOYAL TO THEM BECAUSE THEY STICK TO THEIR PLAYERS
    THEY TREAT THEIR PLAYERS WLL

  15. The Indian IPL fans love West Indies cricketers.

The IPL pays the players very well.

Brathwaite will make 5 years salary for six weeks work.

Hope he and the other West Indians all do well.

  16. Who watched the Under-19 West Indies chase 220 runs with 60 balls to spare? Paul Allot was driven to comment it looked like the WI of old shots and pace. This guy Holder was bowling 140 mph balls. No place for spin in the team. They played with an attitude.

  17. the pacers generally bowled well
    the batting was enterprising
team played more like the west indies of old
    inspires hope for the future
    what will selectors do

  18. They ar a little lose in running between the wickets an shot selection, always room for improvement. There is a confidence the team exuded that is priceless. Good luck to them against Bangladesh.

  19. @ David and GP,

These under 19s are very promising. Hope they get the management and coaching to get them to Test level.

  20. The guy Springer from Barbados looks really promising.

  21. Unbelievable. Why are they now looking at contracts.

This is diabolically incompetent mis management.

    “80 percent cut.”

This should have been settled at least a few weeks before players left the Caribbean.

  22. Congratulations to the under 19 team. The two Bajans in the team continue to prove their worth. The captain has hit a vein of form at the right time.

  23. A Tridents team based in Barbados is selected with four token local players. Six poor quality Trinidadians barring T20 maguffy Pollard are picked for the franchise. How do you look to Bajans to buy tickets and hail for a team selected by an Indian man and two trinidadians. Where is Desmond Haynes though when he was in the frame he placed just as many Trinis but the Bajan picks evened things out. Why isn’t Kevin Stoute there before mediocre Stewart, Hosein, Khan, players that cant make their own national team. The docile public will sit back and take another insult to Barbados’ vaunted cricket pedigree. Wayne Cadogan what do you think.

The distribution of monies earned by the Windies is fairer in the present contracts Sammy and his greedy pals spurn. A chain is as strong as its weakest link. You cannot pay Sammy and the Bravos to become millionaires while the players in the regional trenches eke out a living from scratch grain. Its unjust. The prima donnas in West Indies set up have ruined our cricket. The WICB is not blameless either. A school of thought says Sammy, Bravo, Pollard those who aborted the Indian tour owe $42 million to WICB. Many opine they should be made to pay.

  24. A Tridents team based in Barbados is selected with a token four junior local players. Six low quality Trinidad players barring T20 maguffy Pollard are picked for the Barbados franchise. How do you look to Bajans to buy tickets and root for this team selected by an Indian man and two trinidadians. Where is Desmond Haynes although when he was in the frame he placed just as many Trinis but the Bajan picks evened things out. Why isn’t Kevin Stoute in the team before mediocre Stewart, Hosein, Khan players that cant make their own national team. 25. agree with you 100%
    franchise shit!

  26. Good start for the boys.

  27. HETMYER MUST KEEP HIS FAST BOWLERS ON
THEY JUST NEED TO BOWL LINE AND LENGTH AND KEEP THE RUNS DOWN
    TOO MANY EXTRAS THOUGH

  28. Good point by the commentators, if you are attacking with Joseph, you need to give him an attacking field.

  29. GOOD BOWLING BUT TOO MANY EXTRAS
GOOD FIELDING AND CATCHING EXCEPT FOR ONE DROPPED CATCH
GOOD IDEA NOT TO BOWL THE SPINNERS
GOOD FIELD PLACINGS EXCEPT FOR LACK OF SLIP FIELDERS
    POOR SWIPING BY POPE

  30. hard fought win by U19 team due to bad batting by Pope Hetmyer Springer
however intelligent batting by Paul and Pope saw us through
have never seen a WI team innings with so few fours in it

  31. Not a big fan of a dasher as an opener in 50 or Test form. Didn’t understand the commentators criticism of WI taking a careful approach to the target. India is a strong team and the WI in the conditions showed the ability to adapt to the conditions. Carty is very attractive batsmen, stylish, reminiscent of Everton Mattis.

  32. Is this and indication of things to come or is this a one-time event.? Could this young group be molded to become a senior and triumphant WI team? Should I get excited or go back in hibernation.

  33. @TheGazer

Our youngsters have always performed creditably at the under 19 level.

David, I am sure its likely just a time zone ting but on CricInfo there was a recap of social media tributes to Crowe and ….. I saw NOT one from a WI cricketer who played against him!

Great batsman of the highest caliber…may he now rest peacefully from his earthly worries.

  37. @Dee Word

Agreed, he performed at a time when there was good bowling about.

So former Bajan trainer Saffie Joseph claims this horse Dorsett, for $35,000 at GP on Jan 31/16. The horse has not won in his last 16 starts, going back to Sept 2013. He shows no works in Florida after the claim, and arrives in Bim the Tuesday b4 the Gold Cup. So unless trainer Peirce was in Florida, somebody else was training the horse.
Now he was frequently run against graded stakes horses, but his last 10 runs were against Alw & Alw O/C horses.
So apart from the addition of blinkers, and the fact he may have relished running clockwise, how did this horse improve by multiple lengths in one month.
