  1. @ David,

I only follow Woodbine Ontario racing ( on line and on TV ).

Rico Walcott rides in Edmonton. Outstanding jockey.

  2. @ David,

Bad weekend for Lewis. Mercedes reliability came to an end. Hopefully it is temporary.

  3. @Hants

It will be interesting to find out why the two Mercedes engines acted up in Singapore. The good news is that LH had a two race cushion. The bad news is that Vettel and ferrari appear to be clicking.

  4. @ David,

It would be great if the Mercedes get back to par with Ferrari.

Would love to see a Vettel Hamilton battle.

  5. @Hants

There is truth in the article. Hamilton is a better driver than Rosberg.

Rosberg needs to drive with a top team to win. Hamilton can win with an average team.

  6. @David re Lewis’ car.

Toto Wolf said ” A minor bit – a clamp – broke and had a massive effect that caused him to retire. When it jumped off it caused a boost leak. Small part – big effect! But it is something that we have identified and that is good news as it has nothing to do with the performance of the engine.”

  7. @David,

The rain in in Japan will make for very interesting racing. Looking forward to qualifying.

  8. @Hants

We all want to see if reliability issues have resurfaced.

  9. @David,

Lewis wins. Equals Senna’s win record. I am having a good “sports” weekend.

Of course the controversy with Windies cricket is annoying but it is what it is

  10. @Hants

LH needs to win one more.

Why should Bernie be upset with Mercedes?

  11. @David,

” Ecclestone is thought to be unhappy with Mercedes because the team did not provide engines for Red Bull, who are looking for a replacement for Renault power units next year.”

  12. @ Hants

The West Indies Cricket Board has suspended coach Phil Simmons ahead of the cricket team’s tour to Sri Lanka.

  13. @Hants

Never a dull moment and before a young team is off to a tour.

  14. @ Artaxerxes and David,

Sad an pathetic. How can these issues not be settled a couple months before a tour ?

Have these guys heard of cell phones, video conferencing and air planes?

I was hoping that Simmons would make a difference and settle things down but its same old WICB crap.

Fortunately I can hook my laptop or tablet to my TV and watch old videos.

  15. @ David,

Haven’t seen Georgie Porgie on BU for a while. Hope all is well with him.

  16. @Hants

You know all are welcome to contribute to BU, the dullards and the intelligent. We know which group GP can be found …lol.

  17. Maybe Phil Simmons did not have the recourse to address the selectors before he went public.I would think he signed a contract and should now negotiate severance. This decision is going to affect the youngsters who probably thought all was settled for a tour that appeared to have had the blessing of the administrators and management. Then bruggadung,in comes the WICB….

  18. Phil Simmons is not a fool, maybe he wants out based on the state of play after a few months on the job.

  19. David, well said: “Phil Simmons is not a fool, maybe he wants out …”

His rather bold faced criticism of the selection process shocked me completely as it surely was contra the dictates of his contract.

That being said the heavy handed response from WICB is ridiculous. He could have been fined behind the scenes, heavily dressed down or otherwise sanctioned (or maybe they were all done already).

Anyhow, many moons ago your sparring partner Mr Bush Tea said that he is long done wid WI cricket as a discussion point. I can now completely agree with him on that.

This is asinine considering there is a new captain and a young team and considering the the President retained his position and all power after leading WI cricket directly into the crash of the India pull-out.

You are very sage in your remarks that Simmons said enough of this folly…and suspended himself with a ‘lotta talk out of school’.

This is truly a sad and shambolic situation. I wonder what will be Clive Lloyd’s next move!

  20. @Dee Word

    They suspended him by email!

  22. @ David,

Another Mercedes “reliability” issue takes out Rosberg and negates his battle with Lewis.

  23. @Hants

Sorry for NR, LH must have mixed feelings about it.

  24. LH would be concerned about this equipment failure.

He probably would prefer to be fighting Nico since the cars were close in the early laps.

  25. Lewis wins but what a race behind him. Very exciting.

  26. Tough for Botas, that was mean.

  27. For the Rico Walcott fans….

    Northlands Park, Alberta, Canada

“This year’s Leading Jockey Award went to Rico Walcott for his 141 wins, 71 wins ahead of the next competiton”

  28. @ David,

Nico blew his chance to win by sliding off the track when he had the lead. Too much pressure from Lewis who set the tone in turn 1.

Credit to Nico for not letting Vettel pass at the end of the race.

  29. @Hants

It was treacherous conditions but it should be obvious LH is the better driver and NR will always be #2 once LH is around.

  30. I agree David. Lewis is the best. He has matured into a true ice in the veins racer.

  31. At last we win something.

“A breakneck 193-run eighth-wicket stand between Carlos Brathwaite and Andre Russell transformed West Indians’ position from dire to dominant in the Colombo practice match, which the visitors went on to win by 43 runs. The Sri Lanka Board President’s XI’s chase was cut short by rain at 21 overs. Their response of 103 for 3 to West Indians’ 318 was found to be well short via the Duckworth-Lewis method.”

  33. Holder suspended, Samuels captain.

Always some shiiiiite happening in West Indies cricket.

Hope Samuels plays a captain’s innings.

  34. Lost again.

  35. @ David, Brazil……..Q1 begins now.

  36. @ David,

I support the cricketers who choose to enhance their retirement fund by playing T20 for big money.

The WICB has failed to manage West Indies cricket effectively and is responsible for the decline in cricket.

  37. @Hants

The buck must stop at the WICB given its responsibility for the good stewardship of WI cricket.

  39. CONGRATULATIONS LADIES

  40. @Hants

The ladies Hockey AND the cricket teams have been doing well. Maybe there is a story to be told.

  41. @Hants

    What goes around comes around:

    Narine banned from international cricket

  42. muralitharan was lucky ?

  43. The ladies are focused on hockey and cricket. the West Indies men (cricketers ) may be focused on “ladies”.
