The FBI is investigating the death of George Floyd, black man who was pinned on the neck by a police officer and later died in custody. Minnesota’s Attorney General Keith Ellison joins The Beat with Ari Melber’s breaking coverage on the latest from the FBI and the protests. While the officers involved have yet to be charged, Ellison argues a “quick arrest” might “make people feel better about justice” it is “important” for investigators to “take the time to make sure that these charges, if they are brought forward, stick.

    Neither am I. I live within my means. I do not owe any one money and my health is fine. I have started back my walks and soon in the coming days will do my normal eight miles a day jaunt. As you will realize, I am some what skeptical about religion ( but as William Wordsworth in his long autobiographical poem “From the Prelude”( still have a copy from my six form days) states ” the boy is father of the man”: I was brought in the Church and as such, it tenets govern much of my actions as an adult).
    Doing science as you fully understand, one has to deal with facts whether or not the facts are to one’s liking in a dispassionate manner. One fact strikes me about the current mob culture ( that is exactly what it is) that is being seen in the US: namely that majority of looting, arson and beatings are taking place in areas where the leadership is predominately black. One has to wonder what are black leaders doing to enhance the welfare of their black constituents. Surely the onus, (given the fact that racism is known to permeate the country) is on black leaders to encourage their supporters (children in Africa have fewer advantages than Americans do to improve their education, some walk miles to get an education) to make the most of their opportunities. It would appear that the leaders seem, like here in Barbados only in feathering their own nests. For example (politicians of other races do so also) Kwame Kilpatrick ,mayor of Detroit who is serving 28-year in jail for corruption, leaving the finances of Detroit in a mess ( came across him in ” Investigation Discovery” documentary “American Greed”). Had never heard of him before. Similarly the Reverend Jessie Jackson’s, son. Elsewhere on this Blog with the death rates from COVID-19 being very high among black Americans, I have suggested the black leaders should have done more to change the eating habits of their black constituents, thereby decreasing the rates of death from other well-known underlying causes(high blood pressure and so on).

    If one wants to see looting, they will find it but there are thousands of people marching to make their lives better and are not looting. Looting is the fall- back position and dog whistle of those who don’t give a damn about the welfare of black people. Its funny to read of Kwame Kirkpatrick but where is the scorn for Chris Collins or Senator Burr whom the FBI is investigating for insider trading after he made multiple trades on the basis of what he knew about the pandemic while assuring the public that all was well. How about the occupant of the White House who is using the Gov’t as his personal piggy bank to bankroll his golf trips to his resorts. Why did William Barr hold his Xmas party at Trump Hotel in Washington, why do the foreign Gov’t visitors believe that things will go well for them if they stay at Trump hotel, and all some people could write about is “looting”.

    Each time that black persons are murdered in cold blood at the hands of the police the familiar tropes appear- Black on Black violence; Chicago now its looting.

    United States — Protests over police brutality and the death of George Floyd ignited once again on Friday across the US, as demonstrators clashed with police in Minneapolis, New York and Atlanta.

    However the underlying evidence shows increasingly a nationwide planning of ANTIFA hijacking the death of George Floyd that is attempting to challenge the presidency of president Trump. Social media groups of ANTIFA and the Marxists left, which includes anarchists, Black Block, ANTIFA and sections of the #metoo movement and other extremists fringe groups formed a loose coalition of like-minded factions, individuals and group.

    For some time the revolutionary sites debated the methods of resistance to the COVID-19 government restriction. COVID is seen to support a surveillance state, and movement control to establish a dictatorship. Similar paranoid publications are almost daily circulated on social media, blog spaces and extremists internet sites.

    The debates on tactics and extremist is widely circulated on the social media are a collection of revolutionary ambitions, system collapse and destruction of social order.

    In the Black Block Papers we find the Earth Liberation Front and other extremists collaborating. Experts warned for some time the rise of Antifa and other leftist extremists groups.

    Trump has a point. The 18 U.S. Code § 2101 covers riots and unrest. The apologists and the liberal left went immediately on the offensive of blaming the police for “militarization of the police”. An almost identical narrative surfaced in the Hong Kong after an Indonesian journalist who was employed by a leftist newspaper was at the front of an attack on police officers. In the United States a similar incident occurred.

    Police are police, black or white. They should have stood up and gone ahead with the protest. They tried the same thing in London. The health secretary said it loud that there should be no bigger groupings that six people. Tens of thousands turned out.
    Someone must tell the Bajan police that some things are worse than death, one of those is police brutality. Bajan police perform true to form.
    The organisers should have gone to a judge in chambers and get the decision lifted. CoVid is an excuse to control black protest. I wonder who REALLY made that decision? The commissioner has been humiliated and would not dare; the attorney general is not bright enough to spell revoke; so it must come from the despotic president.

    Permission for the march was given a few days ago by the police. It was an operational matter therefore under the remit of the commissioner. It was revoked within minutes as it was about to start on public health grounds, which is not a police matter. So, it is fair to assume there was an intervention. It either came from the attorney general, the president or the US embassy.
    However, whatever the source, it is an act of cowardice. Our democracy is in trouble.
