The FBI is investigating the death of George Floyd, black man who was pinned on the neck by a police officer and later died in custody. Minnesota’s Attorney General Keith Ellison joins The Beat with Ari Melber’s breaking coverage on the latest from the FBI and the protests. While the officers involved have yet to be charged, Ellison argues a “quick arrest” might “make people feel better about justice” it is “important” for investigators to “take the time to make sure that these charges, if they are brought forward, stick.

    Something that I hace not seen mentioned but needs to be addressed.

    The current state is one of a socioeconomic structure is severe distress.

    All of the financial bailouts, all of the outsourcing to cheap labour.

    The cutting if wages to the average worker and major tax cuts and Covid benefit packages to wealthy corporations. None of this has stopped the runaway capitalist model from shattering.

    The far right capitalist model has failed and what we are seeing are the symptoms if a society in distress.

    This is why those backing Trump threw so much money behind him.

    They knew this was coming and had too much to lose. So got a stooge who would sacrifice all else, to protect the interests of the few.

    There you have it.

Three of that group are totally biased apologists for the most egregiously divisive, undemocratic behavior by a US president in our life time… one of the Afro-Bajans is vehemently the opposite.

    It’s not only about exposing those like @John on race and ideology (we can understand HIS anger of lost supremacy)… but more about how the Afro brethren have morphed into these voodoo dolls who are pricked into dancing to these destructive racial policies….it takes a bit more work to recognize that their anger is fueled in part, that their superior intellect and skills did not elevate them to positions of great importance .. racial discrimination played a part in them not conquering the world. Thus it comes over that there is almost a disdain for being born Black …

    Many other Bajans like them also ‘suborned’ their racial identity and sold out several generations while huffing and puffing about white privilege as they ‘adapted’ to the white rules and worked non-stop to achieve their OWN elite Black privilege !

    So, I care NOT about the John’s (in no guise) of this world… it’s my Black brethren who know and understand the Dredd Scott or Emmit Till legacies we suffer to this day and yet can pompesette as they do !

    Because of drugs or crime? Because of jobs? No. Moreso, these people are largely Catholic and so, if anything, right in line with Trump’s claim of being religious and anti-abortion, even though that itself is nonsense.

    The reality is the silent growth of the conquistodors in the USA.

    As if 2016, Hispanic Americans were 18% of the population, projected to be 27% in forty years. Yes, over a quarter of the population.

    Contrast that with 14% now, to be 18% in forty years and white 61% now, to be 44% in forty years.

    There is your reason. However, that narrative has been sidelined by the black racial issue.

    Make no mistake that when this current impasse is resolved, they will be back on Hispanics back like monkeys.

    Yes!!! Trump can possibly still win. Indeed, even GP expects the rapture soon but that the happenstance that Trump will win the election is less likely to presage the rapture than if he loses. But Trump can still prevail and wreck Earth, as we know it, in either scenario.

    The unprecidented verbal rebellion by former military flag officers is probably too little too late. There is currently no evidence that those fellows have enough of a following to spark a physical uprising in the current military hierarchy that can successfully cause Trump’s resignation or removal before or by the Elections. For that to happen many chips will have to be in place. The Supreme Court will have to rule against Trump in all of the current litigation against him; Barr will have to be removed from the fray in some way; Mitch McConnell will have to be neutered; Biden will have to show unequivocally that he is the right choice for the people’s champion; Covid-19 will have to be continuing its onslaught through November with deaths approaching the Imperial College’s predicted models; The US economy will have to continue its current decline; the population will have to revert to complacency and stop protesting; etc. etc.

    A lot of things will have to happen. I fear that the odds at this time seems to lie on Trump’s side but its still almost 6 months before the elections and there’s a possibility that there could be a slip twixt the cup and the lip.

    A Glynn County judge ruling that Greg McMichael, Travis McMichael and William Bryan will all be tried for murder, according to the Washington Post. Richard Dial, an investigator for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation who testifying over the course of several hours, provided a detailed timeline of the events leading up to Arbery’s death on Feb. 25 and the moments after it.

    One of the more notable revelations was that Bryan told investigators Travis McMichael called Arbery a “fucking nigger” after Arbery was shot and laid dying on the street. A search of McMichael’s social media history revealed multiple instances of him using the slur in both a private Instagram message and a post where he said he loved his Coast Guard job because there “weren’t any n words anywhere.”

    Some clues that the implementation of Plan B has already started are clearly seen in the news from Washington over the last 2 or so days. eg. The almost inexplicable deployment of a large, well equipped, anonymous but highly visible para military external force on Washington’s streets; No sign of that force being slated for disbanding or being made less visible despite progress in the George Floyd matter, as already seen in a gradual reduction of that tension outside of Washington DC; No explanation of any legitimate justification for the force’s deployment; etc.

    Yesterday’s news of the positive reaction by some MIlitary people to Trump’s egregious actions is a step in the right direction but more current top military leaders must respect their sworn duties and cast off any allegiance they think they have to Trump in order to have a significant impact on the actions already taken by his people.

    This month, Richard Hatcher, a former mayor of Gary, Ind., delivered what researchers suspect is the skull of Nat Turner, the rebel slave, to Turner’s descendants. The skull had been kept as a relic, sold and probably handed down through generations, for nearly 185 years. If DNA tests confirm that the skull is genuine, then Turner’s family will have the opportunity to lay their famous relative to rest.

    Many were shocked when National Geographic reported the existence of the skull, the same day that “The Birth of a Nation,” a new movie about Nat Turner, was released. But the traffic and trade in human remains — from the fingers, toes and sexual organs of executed enslaved people, to the hair and nails of the victims of the Holocaust — are part of our history. Some Americans were not surprised at all by the news; they might even have some “family heirlooms” of their own hidden in their homes, waiting to be shared with their children.

    Turner was hanged in southeast Virginia on Nov. 11, 1831, for leading a rebellion of slaves that left some 55 white people dead. Those who came to witness his death then decapitated and skinned him. They bragged about it for decades. One participant, William Mallory, also known as Buck, gloated so much about having skinned Turner that it was listed in his own obituary.

    Turner’s skull was not the only one in circulation. Nineteenth-century newspapers occasionally advertised that a decapitated head had been discovered. Sometimes they were found on trains, left on the side of the road, or impaled on stakes following executions. Public hangings — of people of all races — were a routine part of early American life. Vigilantes often took trophies, proof, in their mind, that “justice” had been served. They made purses of skin and took the grease from the flesh, and used it as oil. These souvenirs were then passed down through generations.”

    It’s typical once again: Commentators get upset about governmental crimes in other countries instead of hitting local civil servants, who get their full salary, while 40 percent of the black population is unemployed.

    Our government is lucky that our people are so naive, easy to influence and easy to distract from the real problems.
