Your message to the BLOGMASTER was sent

News that featured in the local media on the weekend is that adult worker- a euphemistic description for prostitute- Natalee “Natlee” Harewood has declared her interest to contest the City seat when prime minister Freundel Stuart feels to ring the bell.  We know he has to do it in the next couple of months so there is no mystery as to when.

Natlee seems to be popular within the social media space with over 40, 000 Instagram followers in Barbados and overseas AND in the environs of Bush Hill. We have received a few requests to share an opinion on her decision. The truth is there is no need for the blogmaster to be prolix on this matter. The way she conducts herself in public would not encourage the BU household to support her candidacy. Our position has nothing to do with her gender, we simply do not like the fact that she is has to resort to vulgarity to express herself or sell her body. She chooses to be a prostitute and that is her business. We would encourage her if she wants to help people in the City, especially the poor, to reconsider the business of disrespecting her body.

The truth is we have no stomach to debate this matter but have not allowed a personal view of the BU household to prevent discussion in this space.

@Hal, get behind that quote a bit …

I would query has the Bajan directorate (political, legal et al) established policies that ‘creates’ that large swath of young male [Black] prisoners? Doesn’t seem that way to me as compared to US policies.

And go even further behind your quote and dabble into a recent study out of Harvard/Stanford/US Census Bureauu on race and earnings highlighted in online media. A few quotes that grabbed my attention which likely though not applicable to Bdos (but only because of our size and relatively closed class structure) are still jarring and go to the core of your reference:

“Black boys raised in America, even in the wealthiest families and living in some of the most well-to-do neighborhoods, still earn less in adulthood than white boys with similar backgrounds…

White boys who grow up rich are likely to remain that way. Black boys raised at the top, however, are more likely to become poor than to stay wealthy in their own adult households.

Most white boys raised in wealthy families will stay rich or upper middle class as adults, but black boys raised in similarly rich households will not.”

    AND…

“The research makes clear that there is something unique about the obstacles black males face. The gap between Hispanics and whites is narrower, and their incomes will converge within a couple of generations if mobility stays the same. Asian-Americans earn more than whites raised at the same income level, or about the same when first-generation immigrants are excluded. Only Native Americans have an income gap comparable to African-Americans. But the disparities are widest for black boys.
For poor children, the pattern is reversed. Most poor black boys will remain poor as adults. White boys raised in poor families fare far better.”

    I should expand:

no tiny government on such a tiny island needs all those moochers and leaches to function efficiently or cometently in a cabinet, as has been proven in the last 10 years, all these worthless people with a taxpaying salary….. does not equate to competence or efficiency.

  3. What is more disgusting is the fact that Freundel Stuart ensured every DLP parliamentarian benefited from the tax payers.

Do any of realize the DLP does not have a back-bench? James Paul is being paid a salary of $10,391.20 as chairman of committees.

And many of the losing candidates were rewarded with appointments as senators and parliamentary secretaries.

Fortunately, the senators’ stipend ceased to be paid after the dissolution of parliament.

Natlee is quite the hit on facebook, did not think she would explode like that.

Burlesconi the jailed Italian president had his parliament as a virtual whore house, at taxpayer’s expense, I think he is even trying to run again, the nerve.

This former topless italian model made it as a minister of government some years ago, I believe a prostitute also had political ambitions as well.

    “Mara Carfagna
Maria Rosaria “Mara” Carfagna (born December 18, 1975) is an Italian politician and former showgirl and model. After obtaining a degree in law,[2] Carfagna worked for several years on Italian television shows and as a model. She later entered politics and was elected to the Chamber of Deputies for Forza Italia party in 2006. From 2008 to 2011 she served as Minister for Equal Opportunity in Berlusconi IV Cabinet. Carfagna had been named “the most beautiful minister in the world”,[3][4] and was ranked number one on Maxim’s “World´s Hottest Politicians”.[5] Spokeswoman of the parliamentary group of Forza Italian at Chamber of Deputies.[6] In the last municipal elections in Naples, Carfagna was the most voted councilor in Italy, with more than six thousand personal preferences.[7]”

….not connected enough to the current Aquarian Age
The Age where water and woman rule all contending forces. The power of Moon over Sun
Sun, without which there is no life…
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
You may feel free to go with the flow…. even if it leads to ‘no life’.
But Bushie is connected to the light
    …and will always call shiite…shiite.

Nothing in this world trumps the VALUE of womanhood.
Women represent the cradle of life itself.
    Without women, NOTHING is possible.

However, this has nothing whatsoever to do with ‘leadership’.
The traits and characteristics needed to be high-quality nurturers of life are not the same as those required to be successful LEADERS – particularly at dangerous times in a wicked world.

When men could have become such ‘pussies’ that women – who are configured for completely different priorities – can outperform them in leadership, then we know that the time is ripe to call close of play.

So Bushie is not denying the age of Aquarius ….. merely explaining it.

  11. Bushie

You speak of a time constructed to disconnect us from our essence.

Meaning, the whole ethos of patriarchy was misguided in the first place, a Eurocentric notion

Traditional formations clearly show a general tendency for the leadership of woman

And as long as they are the bearers of ‘honey’, you must accept their leadership

So instead of singing how sweet the name of a man is/was you must come to see that the real sweetness was always held by woman

That age old misleadership of patriarchy is dying, its god head and all.

  13. @Artax, what a bundle of shite. John Compton, Dr Keith Michell and rhe Italian Prime Minister do you know what all three have in common with Natalie as well as Dr Maya Angelou?

  14. Dr. Maya Agelou the greatest poet for this century, everyone in every level of government and society uses her quotes world wide, as a young female searching for herself, was a prostitute.

The Mayor of NYC DeBlasio, his wife also has quite the story to tell.

It is war against black people generally, and black boys in particular. About 38 per cent of black school leavers in the UK now go on to university, as against nearly 50 per cent generally, with black girls in particular out-performing all other demographic groups.
In an open and fair society, you will expected to see these figures being reflected in job opportunities.
Up until 2007/8, young black men aged 16-24 living in London the most cosmopolitan city in Europe, experienced 45 per cent unemployment.
The situation was so bad that after the 2011 Tottenham riots Boris Johnson, the New York-born then mayor of London, spoke out against it.
It was not unusual – and still is not – to go in to fast food restaurants and coffee houses and find that while black people were over-represented as customers they were few, if any, behind the counters. The little Spanish, Italian and other continentals could walk in to jobs without any problem.
Then we find that when these youngsters appear in court, usually on the most trivial of offences, they are more likely to get custodial sentences for first offences that their white peers.
Ignoring the similarities with Aborigines in Australia, Maoris in New Zealand, and the blacks and North Africans in France and Belgium, what are the common features?
Then we come to a country like Barbados and take a look at the semi-Fascist sentencing in some courts and we see great similarities.
I say it again, a nation that is so inward-looking that many of its top people take no notice of the wider world; just look at the population in Dodds.
Even more, many of these same retired police and military officers come to the Caribbean as advisers, recommending more of t he same in the Caribbean. You just cannot make it up.
I will tell you one trick that is now common practice in the UK: after young black people get their university qualifications, when they apply for jobs future employers ignore their qualifications and ask them to take an assessment test and, you guessed it, they often fail.
So the reason for denying them jobs is not race or ethnicity, but education. Smart.
Instead of debating whether someone is a prostitute or jack ass, I would like to see a greater public discussion about substance.

  19. “I am going forward and I am trying to do my best to help the poor people in Barbados and I
am not turning back. Nothing beats a try. It was too much fake all these years. I am the real deal right now for my people. It isn’t no more lies.

“I am not a politician; I don’t know the first thing about politics but I know Barbados is hard and my poor people want help, we want jobs. Too much crime in Barbados. Too much young people coming out on the streets to prostitute their bodies for money. We need help. That’s all I know,” said the sex-worker
    …….
I don’t care what she says.
She is a prostitute. So what if she telling me the truth? I just cannot vote for she.. I like my leader to wear a business suit and to keep their nastiness as a secret. need someone in a nice suit even though they may lie, cheat, mislead, overtax, screw, or sell me down the river. @Hal, your remarks and stats are well made…in fact your colleague @Bernard offers a very different perspective related to achievement…he suggests that (likely Bajan specific) that hard work will result in achievement sans the ‘victim’ mentality. Alas, these various studies reinforce that as a fallacy.

That apart I must disagree with your comment : “Instead of debating whether someone is a prostitute or jack ass, I would like to see a greater public discussion about substance.”

Substance is very much debated but you will NEVER remove the salacious and lurid from political campaigns. NEVER. That’s just not practical.

Incidentally, its a very telling sociological factoid that the Harvard et al study noted that “Asian-Americans earn more than whites raised at the same income level, or about the same when FIRST-GENERATION (my emphasis) are excluded.”

You noted that “Up until 2007/8, young black men aged 16-24 living in London the most cosmopolitan city in Europe, experienced 45 per cent unemployment.”

An interesting take away is that either children of immigrants have adopted a more militant stance than their parents that is less amenable to the corporate chieftains or that more folks think in thinly veiled ways like Powell, La Pen and Trump and do NOT want Blacks (China is really unstoppable as a dominant corporate power ) in the hierarchy and spread wide in western corporate life. In either case its truly an existential issue that’s getting more foreboding.

  35. Natalee has already been taking a turn in Henderson Williams and Lynette Eastmond. She calls one Boy George Williams and the other EATMA.

  36. de pedantic Dribbler March 21, 2018 at 5:07 PM #

The situation is no less for the Chinese and Indians, it is just that they respond differently. It is important to note that Wet Africans who largely came to this country in the 1980s and 90s are doing much better in terms of the City of London, the financial centre, and membership of the Tory party, than those of Caribbean heritage, who tend in the main to support Labour.
It will take a book, but culture is important. Caribbean people prefer to study law and the social sciences, as they do in the Caribbean, and prefer a salaried position, a quiet hostility to entrepreneurialism.
Chinese and Indians tend mainly to study the STEM subjects, which have relevance no matter where you go to work.
So, the Brits may not like them, but they need their skills and knowledge. It is impossible to find a UK hospital without Asian doctors at all levels. In the 1960s and 70s people used to refuse to allow Asian doctors to treat them.
On the other hand, look at Caribbean in the national health service, the biggest employer in the UK. In the 1950s and 60s they recruited trainee nurses in the Caribbean, and in particular Barbados.
Once in the UK they were treated differently they had to start at SEN (state-enrolled nurse) level, while Brit trainees went straight in to the senior SRN (state registered nurse) level.
In modern Britain nurse training has moved from the ward to the college, with degrees in nursing. What the colleges do not I that they recruit a lot of black nursing students, in order to secure their funding, but fail them at the end of the course.
The outcome is that at the lowly level care and nursing assistants, you still find an over-crowding of black people. As I said, it will take a book to explain.
Take it from me, a small number of young black boys and girls are wasters, but the vast majority just work hard at their studies. They are treated very badly in this society.

  37. Arta it is truly regrettable when failures like Ms Suckoo,Mrs Sandiford-Garner,Mr Todd andMs McClean could be getting extra pay after the dissolution of Parliament. As for this People,s Parliament on Brass Tacks,it has been a disappointment so far and the question has to be asked of Mr Ellis as to why has the most popular Moderator Mr Wickham,s slot ontuesday been used for this when.,the slots of Mr Dennis Johnson,Mr Corey Layne or Ms Gale could have been used instead and it would be no big miss,as their programs aren,t that exciting to me.There fore any of those could have been sacrificed for that program but certainly not Mr Wickham and I hope to hear Mr Wickham,on air on one of the other days,Mr Ellis as he is a drawing card.

In a democracy where she is a citizen she has the constitutional right to contest the seat as did ex-con Eric Fly , rum bibber Tommy Miller and more notorious persons. 44. I am sure that every Parliament that has ever sat in Barbados has had its share of fornicators and adulterers.

We Bajans rarely question whether our male politicians are as pure as the driven snow. If our male politicians feel like fornicating and adultering they can do so to their heart’s content, and not a fella ask a question.

But if a female politician is not a virgin or a married matron, everybody wants to ask questions about her bedroom business.

    Why???

After all men [unless they are gay] cannot fornicate or adulterate unless women cooperate. But once the women cooperate they are beyond the pale. Why? And of course we know know that Barbados has NEVER had a gay male politician, so all those unmarried ones are either fornicators, adulterers or celibate.

    Lolll!!!

Natlee has only followed the Prime Minister’s excellent advice, “if money sharing ’bout, tek some”

“Don we now our gay apparel……….Fa-la-la, la-la-la, la-la-la…”

And the “la-la-la” is quite a fitting end.
