Not since the days of the Gladston Holder columns in the Barbados media have Barbadians been kept abreast of the occurrences which involve the Council for Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission or even the Bilderberg family influence on world politics. Barbadians, including the media appear to be very comfortable ferreting world news from CNN and the BBC.

BU like millions around the world have been enthralled by the new entrant to the White House. President Barack Obama is without question a departure from the old guard. Some say any perceive change should only be taken as token. Many of the appointments in the Obama government represent prominent individuals who have worked in Washington in the recent past and are regarded as part of the status quo. For example, there is the influential position of Secretary of the Treasury Tim Geithner, the former head of the Federal Reserve of New York. How can Geithner be responsible for changing Wall Street when he is a product of the system?

The video above is one hour and 53 minutes long and paints an intriguing picture of Obama and the shadow government which runs the US government. While BU is inclined to ask questions we are not sure we fully buy in to the positions expressed in the video.

    The other day I was picking up some pizza’s for a youth event our church was sponsoring and I saw something that really caught my eye and made me think: a plate with a piece of pizza crust, a few crumbs and a wadded up napkin.
    I believe that many of you are thinking to yourself, “How weird!” and you are probably right. Know that you are not the first to think I am a bit strange.
    God spoke to me very strongly about the meaning of this plate and debris; and the message He had for me to share with you from this simple everyday occurrence.
    The plate with crumbs, leftovers and a used paper towel gives us a picture of something that was once full of potential, hot and ready to go. Then, someone came by and devoured most of it and left just what they did not want or think was valuable. They took the best and left the garbage.
    This is a very powerful picture of the real life experience of many of us. We feel like someone came by and used us, took the best we had to offer and then left us like so much trash on the roadside of life.
    I know this feeling very well from my work as a minister to our community and from my own personal and painful experiences.
    I have felt like I have been chewed up, spit out and somehow deemed as unworthy. I understand what it is to be condemned without cause or simply be overlooked. It hurts.
    I still do not completely understand how some people can be so cold hearted, self centered and disrespectful; but they are.
    Perhaps you can identify with this experience. Know that you are not alone. Know that there is hope.
    There is Someone who has already promised to never leave you. He has made a guarantee that He will always be there for you and always love you.
    Romans 8:35-39 “Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or are hungry or cold or in danger or threatened with death…No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels can’t, and the demons can’t. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow, and even the powers of hell can’t keep God’s love away. Whether we are high above the sky or in the deepest ocean, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.” NLT
    Humans will let you down. They will make mistakes, gossip, lie and seemingly try to destroy relationships. God never will.
    Jesus very clearly told us this in John Chapter 10 Verse 10: “The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give life in all its fullness.” NLT
    Jesus wants you to have the full vibrant life you are looking for! Jesus will never discard you, condemn you or treat you like rubbish. Jesus loves you!

    Anothing thing, Hopi, if there is One almighty creator as you say you believe, and this One creator is everything that is good, orderly, honest, upright and so on, how come he then allow so many different little ‘gods’ to come and confuse everybody so, with each one of the ‘gods’ saying something different and opposite to one another?

    From my little understanding of the Bible, which makes sense, the Devil is the one who meking people believe that there is all these other ‘gods’ cause them dont really exist at all, they cant do nothing for any one, just got nuff people believing a lot of lies, whereas, the father God and his Son Jesus, wherever you check it out, any where in the world does bring peace, and salvation, this is why the message of the gospel is so simple, just believe and trust Jesus, and he will turn everything around for you.

    I seriously thinking of making that decision, cause it working for so many people all over the world, it just can’t be wrong, this religion thing does keep poeople all mess up, wheras, it seems to me that Jesus is not bout religion at all, but bout some kind of relationship with each person as their saviour, I never did like all of this religious stuff, but you can talk to Jesus any time any where, even sitting under a tree, dat sound to me like the real thing.

    @Anonymous, when will you stop quoting that monologue? It proves nothing. You cannot go out it to prove anything. I hope you understand that. Even the theologians and scholars of the bible understand that, so you wasting time.

    The emotional stories and the imagined parallels are for you to keep you soothed and comfortable being chewed up and also to have comfort with it; like the placebo. You have been numbed with the opium. When you are under that influence, all common sense leaves you like the drug addict and you are not able to reason or see reality.

    You live in a dream world with fairies and magicians. It is a serious thing that the Creator gave you intellect and you refuse to use it and would rather be duped by mere mortals; that includes your astronaut named Christ; a mere mortal. It is really strange that Christ could have been so profound and yet none of the Roman records even have his name. They certainly never crucified anybody named Jesus Christ.

    Rok of course you forgot that Flavius Josephus was a Roman historian. We know that you know that right? So we will just assume that you made an error above. We wont be unkind and call you an ignoramus or a full blown idiot or liar.

    The other day I was asked to prove the existence of God. It was a one-on-one conversation with a skeptical friend, who somehow thrust the burden of proof on me. He didn’t want the religious, moral or philosophical arguments — He wanted the scientific “proof.”

    Does God Exist – Is a Scientific Approach Possible?
    When it comes to the question, “Does God Exist,” there are really only two possible conclusions: God either is, or He isn’t. There’s no half-way. There’s no sliding scale. Whether you’re an atheist or whether you’re a theist, there’s a certain level of knowledge, and there’s a certain level of faith.

    I thought for a moment… Can I prove the existence of God — scientifically? In my religious/moral/philosophical experience, He’s been proven to me. However, my friend hasn’t walked the same journey as me. He wants the facts — he wants the naturalistic proof for a supernatural reality.

    I came to the conclusion that my friend’s question was a fair one. He deserved my best attempt at an answer. So, I gave it a shot…

    Does God Exist – A Scientific Examination of the Evidence
    God may not be provable through mathematical formulae or properties of physics, but we live in an era where the evidence of an Intelligent Designer is all around us. Just look through the Hubble Telescope and peer to the edge of the massive cosmos. View the monitor of an electron-scanning microscope and delve into the intricate world of a microscopic cell. Try to comprehend the massive library of complex information inherent in the digital code that turns a fertilized egg into a human being. Study principles of quantum mechanics and investigate the world of extra-dimensionality. Review the nature of your conscience, subconscious, standards of morality, and thoughts of religion. Then, try to reconcile all of these realities with a basic theory of randomness and chaos.

    Based on what we know today, I truly believe that atheism (not believing in any kind of god) is a much bigger “leap of faith” than theism (believing that some kind of god exists).

    I asked my friend, “Have you really thought about some of the evidences for God? Or, are you presupposing a purely naturalistic world, and closing your eyes to some of the possible evidence? If I propose some observational evidence, are you even open to examining it?”

    My friend asked me to go on. So, here’s my attempt at some basic scientific observations that point to God:

    Causation. God provides the best explanation for the existence of the universe and all that’s in it. (The alternative theory is that “nothing” exploded and resulted in everything that we see.)
    Order. God provides the best explanation for abstract notions such as numbers, mathematical formulae, chemical-based processes, and natural laws. (The alternative theory is that the chaotic first elements ordered themselves into complex information systems.)
    Design. God provides the best explanation for the absolute complexity inherent in cosmological, stellar, planetary, chemical and biological systems. (The alternative theory is that random chance engineered apparent design.)
    Encoded Instructions. God provides the best explanation for the digital DNA code contained in and controlling the functions of all life on earth. (The alternative theory is that complex code, such as binary code running computers, can pop into existence without any kind of programming, testing and debugging process.)
    Irreducible Complexity. God provides the best explanation for fully functioning biological organisms, systems, and subsystems that couldn’t come about through gradual evolutionary process without totally ceasing to exist at lower, evolutionary levels. (The alternative theory is that biological systems took huge, unseen leaps from simple to complex without any guided process or forward-looking instructions.)
    Duality. God provides the best explanation for the separate human functions of brain and conscience (matter and mind). (The alternative theory is monism — only matter exists and the human brain only appears to have a separate subconscious ability.)
    Morality. God provides the best explanation for the existence of love, emotion, altruism, and inherent moral/ethical values throughout the world. (The alternative theory is that unguided materialistic processes evolve higher human consciousness.)

    Does God Exist – A Scientific Conclusion
    When it comes to the question of “Does God Exist,” there are only two scientific worldviews — Someone/Something did it, or it did itself. Whether it’s the beginning of the cosmos or the beginning of life, the beginning of mankind or the beginning of mind, either Someone/Something is responsible for everything we see or it’s responsible for itself.

    “Does God Exist?” Is this really a question for science at all? Actually, it seems this is a matter of forensic science, since we can’t re-create the birth of the universe or the formation of first life in a laboratory. Therefore, we collect the observable evidence in our world and apply our forensic investigation skills to analyze its collective meaning. In the end, we all need to collect and examine the evidence for ourselves. Ultimately, whether couched as scientific inquiry or purely religious/moral/philosophical faith, it’s not a matter for the laboratory. It’s a personal, investigative decision for each and every one of us.

    God is a “Black Box”. We don’t know what is in there, what it does or doesn’t do, where it came from or where it is going. It just is. It can mean anything, everything or nothing. So what does this all mean? Stop trying to understand God. Get on with your lives and stop trying to make living complicated. We all know the truth just stop trying to fool yourself and others.

    did you read the account of the “rescue” of Capt. Phillips? Now I just want to compare notes. The US officer in charge said that the Somalis had a gun pointed at Phillips and it was determined that they were going to shoot him so they (the US Navy) acted by shooting 3 Somalis. Then the same officer said they boarded the lifeboat and went INSIDE where Phillips was found tied up but unharmed! How did they “see” inside the boat? Did I get the story wrong?

    You talking about yourself. You have nothing to persuade any body of the facts. You appeal to emotion and emotion does not constitute facts. If you want to have something for no-believers, come different because the old monologue is really boring. Heard it all before and it has not moved non-believers fo Christianity.

    Note too that for somebody like me, you are a non-believer too. so to just state that this is for non-believers the question I have to ask you is, non-believers in what? Skeptical of what?

    Just like you use the word Pagan, but then all of what the Pagans believed was adopted by the Christians and that is why Christians were persecuted because they came with all these lies and untruths, trying to conquer the world by deceit.

    Of course you all burned all the books of enlightenment, plunging this world in darkness and then come with a story pushing down peoples throat in the absence of the real information. Why did you burn the books and don’t tell me no foolishness about wickedness and evil because this whole Christianity is also evil and wicked. Look at the people it produces; pure fanatics that can’t face any truth at all without going mad as hell.

    Try this test. Tell any fired up Christian that Christ is a fraud. Let me tell you the result. They will flare up; run from you; refuse to discuss or examine it; start cursing; go home and pray; and if it is a dark night they would kill you. Long and short: no sensible response and great disturbance within themselves; leading to erratic behaviour and loss of sanity.

    I know because i had the problem and had to check myself and realised that if I had done that about anything else in the world, I would have been admitted to the green gate hotel.

    The history of Christianity reveals an abundance of ignorance: beheading men for saying the earth round; burning so-called witches alive; and worse of all, feeding slaves under slavery to accept the brutality with honour and dignity. Now tell me, how is a master persecuting a slave by beating that slave into submission for the piurpose of making the slavce work for him. You think he care anything about your christianity? but welcomed Christianity as an opium to teach to the slaves; to keep them from running away or uprising against their master. Your God did all that. Never supported us under slavery but protected the white man from a dose of his own medicine.

    No wonder the white man thought that slaves did not have the mental capacity. They even thought that they would have been damned if they educated slaves and this was outlawed. So we get all so righteous but there is no red sea to cross. Stop wasting your time and you could pray for me all you like, you just don’t have sufficient faith or know how to harm me or save me by your prayers. Just don’t let me have to pray for you; LOL!

    With my prayers the effect is immediate so I am always careful how I pray and make sure that my enemies are not in my mind when I pray. Of course you nor christianity don’t know anything about praying. You get up and recite a poem you call the Lord’s Prayer. You don’t have the first clue.

    You know very well that the Christians took Flavius work and inserted Christ. There are several factors. How did the Christians get the work of a Roman Historian? It is you that introduced the work to the world. You stole it and inserted the writings.

    It is so funny how in one section alone all is written about Christ which should obviously have been crossed referenced but is not. Only one other mention of Christ in a whole work that covered the period. Why does the story not mesh into the entire work.

    Since the 16th or 17th Century, Testimonium Flavianum has been considered a fake. You want to raise the dead?

    The piracy on the Horn of Africa is the prelude to another ‘kiss of death’ for the Africans via this Change guy. Things are never as they appear.     The Bible is still the world’s best seller, and has been translated into more than 1400 languages. It was written over a period of 1500 years by kings, statesmen, prophetic seers, intellectuals, and commoners. All 66 books of the Bible are uniquely in harmony and agreement with each other.
    In contrast to the fans of the Bible, critics looking for the flyspeck in the masterpiece allege that there was a long span of time between the events recorded in the New Testament and the writing down of those events. Then they say another gap exists archaeologically between the earliest copies made from the autographs of the New Testament. In reality, the alleged spaces and so called gaps exist only in the minds of the critics.

    Notice how no other ancient book’s text is questioned or maligned like that of the Bible. For instance, Aristotle’s Ode to Poetics was written between 384-322BC. Our earliest copy of this work dates 1100AD, and we find there are only 49 extant manuscripts. Note that the gap between the original writing and the earliest copy is 1400 years. A second example is Plato’s Tetralogies, written 427-347 BC. Our earliest copy is 900 AD, and there are only 7 extant manuscripts to study. The gap between the original and the earliest copy is 1200 years.

    What about the New Testament? Jesus was crucified in 30 AD. The New Testament was written between 48-95 AD. The oldest mss date to the last quarter of the first century, and the second oldest 125 AD. This gives us a narrow gap of 35 to 40 years from the originals written by the apostles. From the early centuries, we have some 5300 Greek mss of the New Testament. Altogether, including Syriac, Latin, Coptic and Aramaic, we have a whopping total of 24,633 texts of the ancient New Testament to confirm the wording of the New Testament scriptures. So the bottom line is, there was no great time period between the events of the New Testament and the New Testament writings. Nor is there a great lapse of time between the original writings and the oldest copies. This means that with the great body of mss evidence, it can also be proved, beyond a doubt, that the New Testament says exactly the same things today as it originally did nearly 2000 years ago.

    Critics also charge that there are not ancient writings about Jesus outside the New Testament. This is another ridiculous claim. Writings that confirm his birth, ministry, death, and resurrection are found in Flavius Josephus (AD 93), the Babylonian Talmud (70-200 AD), Pliny the Younger’s letter to the Emperor Trajan in about 100 AD, the Annals of Tacitus (115-117 AD), Mara Bar Serapion (sometime after 73 AD), and Suetonius’ Life of Claudius and Life of Nero (120 AD).

    Another point of contention arises when critics of the Bible have knowingly or unknowingly misled people by implying that Old and New Testament books were either left out of or were added into the canon of scriptures at the great ecumenical councils of the churches which met in 336, 382, 397, and 419 AD. As a matter of fact, one result of these gatherings was to confirm the Church’s belief that the books already in the Bible were divinely inspired. So, what we actually find, then, was that the Church, at these meetings, neither added to nor did they take away from the books of the Bible. At the time of the early church’s ecumenical councils, the 39 Old Testament books had already been accepted, and the New Testament, as it was written, simply grew up with the ancient church. Each document being accepted as it was penned in the first century was then passed on to Christians of the next century. So, this foolishness about the Roman Emperor Constantine dropping books from the Bible is simply uneducated rumor.

    Prophecies that already have been fulfilled from both the Old and New Testaments also add credibility to the text of the Bible.. The scriptures predicted the rise and fall of great empires like Greece and Rome (Daniel 2:39, 40). It also foretold the destruction of cities like Tyre and Sidon in Isaiah 23. Tyre’s demise is recorded by ancient historians, who tell how Alexander the Great lay siege to the city for seven months. King Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon failed in a 13-year attempt to capture the seacoast city and completely destroy its inhabitants. During the siege of 573 BC, much of the population of Tyre moved to its new island home approximately 1/2 mile from the land city. Here it remained surrounded by walls as high as 150 feet until judgment fell in 332 BC with the arrival of Alexander the Great. The siege lasted seven months, and during that time he fulfilled the remainder of Zechariah’s and Ezekiel’s prophecy concerning the city at sea by completely destroying Tyre, killing 8,000 of its inhabitants and selling 30,000 of its population into slavery.

    With Alexander’s wrath almost complete, he now dragged 4,000 desperate souls to the beach and viciously crucified them. How could he reach the island that was a ½ mile at sea with an army of infantry and calvary? He fulfilled the details of the prophecy (Zechariah 9:4 and Ezekiel 26:12) and scraped up the dust and rubble of the old land city of Tyre, just like the Bible predicted, and cast them into the sea, building a 200-foot-wide causeway out to the island. Alexander’s death and the murder of his two sons was also foretold in the scripture. Another starling prophecy was Jesus’ detailed prediction of Jerusalem’s destruction, and the further spreading of the Jewish diaspora throughout the world, which is recorded in Luke 21. In 70 AD, not only was Jerusalem destroyed by the future emperor of Rome, Titus, but another prediction of Jesus Christ in Matthew 24:1-2 came to pass. The destruction and complete devastation of the temple of God.

    In the book of Daniel, the Bible prophesied and promised the coming of the one and only Jewish Messiah prior to the temple’s demise. There is only one candidate that fits this biblical scenario just prior to 70 AD. The Old Testament prophets declared he would be born in Bethlehem (Micah 5:2) to a virgin (Isaiah 7:14), who would be betrayed for 30 pieces of silver (Zech. 1:12-13). The Bible further states that he would die by crucifixion (Psalm 22) and be buried in a rich man’s tomb. (Isaiah 53:9). There was only one person that fits all of the messianic prophesies of the Old Testament who lived before 70 AD: Jesus of Nazareth, the Son of Mary.

    Yes, the Bible is an amazing book. It was not written as a book of science, yet it contains many amazing scientific facts. When the rest of the world believed the earth was flat or was supported on the shoulders of the mythical god Atlas, or said that it rested on the back of an elephant who stood on the back of a turtle that was swimming in a great endless sea, the Jewish prophets wrote that (Job 26:7), “God hangeth the earth upon nothing,” and implied that the world was round (Isaiah 40:22) when it said, “It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth.”

    Read the Bible for yourself! Don’t rely on others who have told you what they think it says. It is altogether possible that an individual or religious leader’s interpretation is at best just that, just another man’s interpretation. Don’t get your facts from secondhand sources — read the Scriptures for yourself — and do it with an open mind.

    When all is said and done, I am going to list no more than 100 valid reasons why the bible is merely a story that got its story line from the Sumerians and any civilisations before them and that it never happened.

    These are somethings that heed to be ascertained:
    1. A record of Moses in Pharaoh’s mansion?
    2. An Egyptian record of the Israelites’ exodus?
    3. An Egyptian record of the drowning of the soldiers in the Red or Reed Sea?
    4. A record of Joseph in Pharaoh’s court. After all, he rose in rank?
    5. A roman record of the crucifixion of Christ?
    6. A Roman record of the events reportedly recorded by the Jewish scribes of his death and resurrection?

    I don’t want nobody telling me that these exist, I want to see the translations for myself and as far as can be ascertained none of the above exist.

    The events described in the bible are so profound that it would be impossible for them not to be recorded by the Roman Scribes or form the part of some report. Until I can find this evidence, I have to consider that these things never happened because we would have heard of this evidence before.

    @Anon….How pitiful to hear you telling someone not to get their facts from second hand source. Who the hell did you get yours from? Did God reach down and speak directly to Anony or didn’t Anony get his/her belief from a second hand source like all the philosphers, scribes, commoners…. and you know very well what happens to second hand info.     You conveniently ignored these works. Don’t they have them at Codrington man? Before you talk about what you don’t know, find the relevant literature and read for your self. You are stupid to think that because you do not know, or have not seen a work that it does not exist.

    The absolutely amazing facts that stear us in our faces daily, that this incomprehensible Universe was Created by a loving God, can only be denied by Fools, as even Charles Darwin, in his book “Origin of the Species’ commented on the human eye, which is probably the most complicated organ in all of nature, Darwin said:

    Even Darwin himself agrees that this theory, Evolution, is hopelessly inadequate for explaining the existence of complex organs and organisms in nature. And further, what is truly incredible about Darwin’s admission is that we now know that the eye is significantly more complex than was ever imagined in his day!

    Another case against the evolutionary theory, and there are many, is the ‘Bombardier Beetle.’

    This ugly little beetle, has one of the most beautiful defense mechanisms in all creation; a fully-equiped chemical weapon.

    This weapon begins with storage vessels that contain a mixture of two chemicals: hydroquinone and hydrogen peroxide. Under normal conditions, these chemicals would react, but, while stored in the bombardier beetle’s vessels, they are kept from reacting by the presence of a third chemical which inhibits the reaction. When the bombardier beetle feels threatened, it fills an empty reaction chamber in its body with chemicals. Two other chemicals, catalase and peroxidase are then added. These chemicals cause the hydrogen peroxide and hydroquinone to react violently. The violent reaction produces a great amount of heat and pressure in the reaction vessel. The beetle then points its tail in the direction of trouble, and opens a valve that exists between the reaction vessel and the tail. A jet of steam which has a temperature of roughly 200 degrees F shoots out the tail in the direction of danger. Any potential predator is immediately burned and frightened away. The bombardier beetle can perform this feat up to twenty times per day! ( Creation Scientists, Answer Their Critics).

    Here is a fully functional chemical weapon. Human being with all of our technological knowledge and research genius were only able to develop effective chemical weapons during World War I, but the simple bombardier beetle has had such a device since day one! Does it make any sense at all to believe that something which took centuries of human research and development could have simply appeared by CHANCE, evolutionary naturalistic selection in the body of a beetle? Hogwash! Fools!

    That is why The Fossil Record- From Microorganisms to Fish; The Fossil Record – From Fish to Reptiles; The Fossil Record – The Origin of Mammals – and The Origin of Man, are destitue of any scientific evidence for naturalistic selection, in support of Evolution, as the Fossils still Say NO, loudly to this vicious LIE of evolution, as every time a Fossil is found IT appears abruptly, FULLY formed, EXACTLY as outlined in the Genesis Account of Creation, in God’s Word, the Bible.

    One of the greatest ironies of current civilization, is the National Geographic and Discovery Channel television shows that are beamed across the world highlighting the life histories of flora and fauna.

    Though made essentially for entertainment and educational purposes, these shows prove that natural selection could not have accounted for the origin of the species.

    They ought therefore to be used by all discerning believers as very helpful tools in proving the fact of creation and counteracting the nonsense peddled in evolutionary theories. The continuation of the creation/ evolution debate suggests that evolutionists are behind in their scientific reading, and in simply viewing good television programs. It demonstrates too that it is unbelievable what men are willing to believe to remain unbelievers.

    We can now destroy the critics on their grounds without even opening the Blessed book to remind them from Job 38:4 that man is really totally unqualified to comment on the origin of the universe since he was not around when God laid its foundations. In our discussions of origins, we must either accept by faith the speculations of man or the revelation of God.

    It is however noteworthy, as pointed out above that the discoveries of man, has contributed immensely to an understanding of the fact of creation at the sub-molecular level. For example, Hebrews 11:3 after stating that we understand by faith that the worlds came into being simply by the word of God, asserts plainly and simply that “things which are seen [visible things] were [are] not made of things which do appear [or that can be readily seen].”

    This is common knowledge that has been explained by scientists in the last century by kinetic theory and the various discoveries of the components of the structure of the atom. We can therefore scientifically prove that this verse is absolutely true. The created things that we can see are all composed of constituents that we cannot see-things that do not exist. The tangible things on terra firma and beyond are created out of nothing-ex nihilo- exactly as the Bible states in Genesis 1:1, 21, and 27, where we have described respectively, the creation of something from nothing, the creation of life, and the creation of human life. This verse corroborates Genesis 1:1 in teaching that the creation was made out of nothing. Hebrews 11:3 thus gives us both a macroscopic and a sub microscopic view of creation. This is now common knowledge in the scientific world, and information that is easy to understand, even by High School kids.

    Romans 1:20 is another potent pill against the poison of the devil’s evolutionary teachers. It is a corroboration of Hebrews 11:3.

    Whereas Hebrews 11:3 teaches that the things that we can see are made from things that we cannot see, Romans 1:20 teaches that the invisible things or the sub-microscopic things of the creation that we can not see are clearly manifested by the macroscopic things that we can see.

    Furthermore, Paul asserts that this is an indication of the power of God. Paul is saying that it takes great power to enable the submicroscopic invisible components of the things that God has created to become condensed into macroscopic things that we can see, feel, taste etc.

    Scientists know that great power or kinetic energy is involved, because when chemicals react they commonly give of energy in the form of heat. Honest scientists know that this verse is true. We don’t need faith to believe these two Scripture verses. The truth of these verses can be reproduced in laboratories any and every day. God has revealed these truths to us in the last 70 years or so.

    The scientific scriptures are all now established facts. This certainly facilitates our accepting by faith the rest of Scriptures. If we can see the truths in these Scriptures, then what is so hard to believe about the rest of the Bible? A God that can condense the invisible into the visible as we understand it according to kinetic theory, and relevant aspects of Physical Chemistry, can in my view, easily perform with the order, power, progress and perfection as described in Genesis 1-2. Once one grasps the deep truths of Hebrews 11:3 and Romans 1:20, Genesis 1:1 is obviously fact!

    The divine revelation of Genesis 1 unfolds with the amazing power, order, and organization of God in Genesis 1-2, through His Word. In alluding to this, the Psalmist said that God “Spoke and it was done” (Psalm 33:9).

    God’s fantastic foresight in providing a habitat for man with whom he sought to fellowship is seen in the fact that light (1:3), and water (1:7) necessary for photosynthesis were provided before plant life was created (1:11).

    We know that light is necessary for the maintenance of life, and that no life is possible in darkness. Clearly God knew this, because at the beginning of time, He created light first, so that earth could be a fit place for habitation.

    It is noteworthy that when the Psalmist in Psalm 148 calls on creation to praise the creator God, he corroborates the Genesis account by stating that the waters that are above the heavens will be there for ever and ever in response to God’s unalterable decree.

    Next we must note that plant life, the basis of the food chain for all life, whether aquatic, arboreal or terrestrial was provided before these animals and man came on the scene (1:12). This was because God knew that initially that man would be vegetarian in his diet.

    Even today most animals are herbivores, and all carnivores consume herbivorous animals. The primary point and promise is that God at creation, made provision for all living creatures.

    God would later summarize His order and foresight of the food chain in 1 Peter 1:24 by the simple phrase “all flesh is as grass.” This concept takes at least a chapter in standard Biology texts to explain.

    It is to be noted that though both the flora and fauna can reproduce and crossbreed and develop new species that this is severely limited.

    The phrase “after his kind” has imposed limitations to any mutations that God has allowed within certain bounds. All honest Biologists know from careful observation and genetic experiments that this is fact, and that such observations alone should cause all men everywhere to accept the Genesis record of creation.

    The setting up of the genetic code which man was only able to unravel around 1950 or so , and which has been the nemesis of the evolutionary theories is similarly described in a short phrase in Genesis 1:11-12, and 24-25 in the simple phrase “after his kind.” 1 Corinthians 15:39 is the New Testament corroboration of this truth.

    Rather than causing men to doubt God’s word, all scientific data should lead men to accept the creation story not only by faith, but also as fact! Faith always follows the facts of God’s revelation, as taught in Romans 10:17. Faith comes by hearing the facts of God’s word. Our faith concerning the truths of creation that are mind boggling, must be a result of the revealed facts about creation.

    The facts are that scoffing scientists are unwittingly unraveling the facts, that would lead discerning believers to increase their faith in the facts declared in the divine revelation. They are just not publishing them. The sound information in the National Geographic Television Programs would probably not be aired if television producers saw that these shows were simply not just educational entertainment, and that they are actually anti-evolutionary in their content. It is absolutely false to conclude as some opine, that scientific theory and the Bible are directly opposed.

    All true science corroborates the Bible. Amidst this all, the God of power as seen in his ability to create and plan, sought first and foremost in his work and word of creation to bless mankind.

    Mr Anonymous Sir,
    I want to thank you for your lovely lectures here on the creation issue. It will certainly help me to hold my own at school, when my peers try to laugh at me because I read my Bible and tell them that I believe that God created the heaven and the earth in the beginning.Your lectures on this blog caused me to read Genesis 1 again, and helped me to understand it better. I notice that God created things in an orderly way, according to what I learn in Biology classes at school. I notice that he made the light and water first, cause otherwise photosynthesis could not be possible. I mean if he had made the plants before he separated out the water and the light, how could the plants photosynthesize? I think that is real cool. I notice that he made the dry land before he made the plants too.
    The next thing I notice is that from as early as verse 11, God like he was trying to tell us that classifying things is very important. My Biology teacher says that Taxonomy is the greatest Science, and that without classification we would be lost. For example if they don’t classify books in a library, we would not be able to find any thing easily.In Genesis 1 verse 11 plants are divided up into grasses, herbs that yield seeds and fruit trees. I think that is real cool. Then I notice that later God made the aquatic animals, the birds or arboreal or aireal animals and the land animals. More classification! Wow! And everything after its kind. So that mean a frog cant turn into a monkey or a monkey cant turn into a man cause frogs and monkeys and man have different DNA, after his kind.
    Mister Anonymous, I always used to wonder what that phrase “after his kind” meant. I didn’t realize that it really mean DNA. We learn about that at school too, but I never connect it with what it says in Genesis before.
    Verse 16 obviously talking about the sun and the moon, and it seems like God just add on the stars on the side like. That’s awesome! When you think how many stars and planets and galaxies etc and the Bible just say God made them also as though there are no big thing for him to do, and he just put them in.Wow! That’s awesome!
    Another thing you wrote about was the food pyramid, at least that is what I thought you were referring too. You know that little fish eat the zooplankton and other small plant material, before they are eaten by bigger fish who feed on them in turn. Also the big raptor birds feed on small animals that feed on grass or berries or nuts or other plant material. Even the real big animals like bears and elephants live of plant material. It cant be denied that “all flesh is grass.” Mr Anonymous, I thank you for your lectures on this blog cause now I can better defend my position on this matter. I looking forward to you putting more information on this subject in this blog.

    I understand you to be suggesting that “Amen” is used as a formula at the end of a prayer, in the same way that QED is used say at the end of proving a theorem.

    When we use QED we have completed an exercise in reason and signify that we have come to a conclusion. When we say “Amen” we are saying”So be it” or “Let it be so” and hoping that our prayer is answered.

    In Colossians 1:17b we are told all things consist in Christ. In other words He is the glue that holds everything together. This is the only answer to the puzzle that currently scientists are struggling to solve. At the sub-molecular level they are seeking a force to explain the combination of protons, electrons etc. in an orderly fashion, despite the fact of their incompatible polarity. In Colossians 1:17b gives the clear and concise answer. Christ is the answer!

    Besides Hebrews 11:3, 2 Peter 3:10 also contributes significantly to the discussion on the creation of the world at the sub-molecular level. In 2 Peter 3:10 Peter tells us that the heavens will pass away and be burned up. This is a most remarkable and relevant passage especially for this present hour, because it has silenced a lot of the more honest scoffers. It also contributes to our understanding of creation, in the light of our current scientific knowledge. This verse once occasioned much laughter and mockery as the question was posed, “How can the world burn when most of the world is water.” It then seemed inconceivable to the scoffers that water could burn. That criticism is now out of vogue with the discovery that water is composed of two very inflammable gases which burn most readily.

    Based on the theory of the eternity of matter–a premise on which much of science was based until about 70 years ago, with the work on atomic theory by Bohr, Rutherford, Pauling et al-the critics opined that this passage could not be fulfilled since matter was indestructible and eternal. Whereas once the critics ridiculed this passage and humble sincere Bible scholars who had no answer of explanation, had to be quiet; now, believers have had the last laugh. Not only do we know that it can happen, we also know how it can happen. In verse 7 we are told that the earth as it exists has been stored up for fire and literally with fire; thus signifying that there are resident forces present in the world which could destroy it. These concepts are known from experiments on chemical bonding- the glue that keeps matter together, and the discovery that most chemical reactions are exothermic, that is they give off heat, proves the claims of this verse. The effects of the release of the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and in experiments in the dessert in New Mexico, demonstrated conclusively how accurate a scientific statement this verse is, and how simply it was put 2000 years ago. It is just that man has finally now caught up with his Physical Chemistry homework!

    In 2 Peter 3:10 we must also note that the word “noise” (Greek rhoizedon) is the word used for the swish of an arrow, the rush of wings, the splash of water, the hiss of a serpent. This is a word from classical Greek and used by the poets such that the sound of the word carries its own meaning. This word is used in the New Testament nowhere else and this specific sound implied is the best description of an exothermic chemical reaction and that of the sound of atomic explosion. Next it is worthy of note the fact that the elements will be dissolved or melt or untied with fervent heat. The word “elements” refers to basic material, atoms, the building blocks of the universe. This word is used of putting building blocks in a row or series, or of the first steps of a child. It is that which is primary or foundational, that out of which a thing is made. “Fervent heat” is energy. These descriptive words make us think of an atomic explosion. Whereas we are not saying that atomic fission or atomic bombs is the way in which God will destroy the world that is, we are saying that God has revealed to us that this passage makes good sense and has simultaneously silenced the critics. We can see both a logical and scientific way in which the world that is, can be destroyed. This verse is simultaneously revealing how the world must have been made at the sub-molecular level. It was done simply by the opposite to what will occur at it’s destruction!

    The word used for “melt” or “dissolve” in 2 Peter 3:10 to describe the future demolition of the elements is the Greek luo. This word has also been translated “loose” or “untie”. It basically describes the breaking of chemical bonds. If God can untie chemical bonds in the eschaton, is it too difficult to conceive that he tied them initially at the creation? We must see that whereas, the Scriptures does not claim to be a Science text, it makes very simple, but very accurate scientific statements in a very matter of fact way. This is because these issues are very infinitesimal to God, even though it took man several millennia to unravel, and even though he has not yet fully understood all the details.

    But, we now have these bogus, pseudo scientists literally ‘turning’ the sound principles of science on its ‘head’ in order to justify their rabid, rampant, rancid, philosophical agenda, of Atheism, they HATE the concept of Almighty God, so they then, couch, veneer, and present their perverted, concocted ‘New’ theories of science , as ‘fact’ with little or no basis in true science at all.

    Honestly Zoe…..you are the same as those you criticize, just that you are on the other side of the spectrum.
    Before the Bible was written or discovered , then translated, wasn’t mankind trying to figure these things out?
    What would you have said to these people then , in the absence of the Good book?
    Would you have described them in the same manner as you have now?
    You are a real piece of work, I hope you are true without any faults, I hope you love your neighbor and are good to your fellow man. Pride or arrogance is also a sin.

Putting licks in me and Hopi don’t get put by you simply saying so.

    Christians have a solid reputation for making lies sound like facts… but they only sound like facts to people whose mindset is to believe lies that sound like facts.

    I think you have the cart before the horse here, Sir. The Bible is NOT a text book of science, nor does it say so at any point. However, there are scientific statements in the Bible that are quite clear, which Christians who are scientists are able to perceive.
    It is inconceivable that Christians could perceive that the phrase “after its kind” could mean DNA prior to 1954 or so, simply because Watson & Crick had not unraveled the structures of DNA before then. Similarly Christians who are scientists are able to perceive an order in creation and relate it to photosynthesis or the food pyramid after God had revealed these truths to man in the last century. However, before scientists or Christians who are scientists were able to understand these things IT WAS WRITTEN IN THE BIBLE!

    So your little petty, puny, puerile frivolous remark is stupid! Your contributions indicate that you know little about the matter being discussed, and to contribute you make these silly little jabs intermittently, that just expose your ignorance. You are of course smarter than ROK, whose ignorance has the dimensions of an abyss! Unlike you he engages in lengthy rants that go off on a tangent and contribute nothing to the discussion.

    To imply that the Bible only explains science after the scientists explain it first indicates that the God of the Bible and the CREATOR & AUTHOR of SCIENCE did not know what he was doing when he did so. Christians who are scientists are merely saying God has revealed what he did to us. They are saying since God made us in His image we can understand what he has done, when he reveals it to us.

    Note that all that the scientists have learned was only learned when it was revealed to them! Mankind calls it discovery! But it is really REVELATION!

    One of the posters on this thread talked about the Hyksos & the Sumerians, so I did some research on them. Please permit me to share my findings briefly.

    The Hyksos were foreign invaders that consisted of a mixed multitude, including many Semites along with other Asiatic elements, who ended the splendor of the Middle Kingdom of Egypt when they entered the country from Asia, seized the throne, and imposed a rule that was intolerable to the Egyptians. However, the Hyksos introduced the horse-drawn chariot and modernized warfare to the degree that made possible the next step of Egyptian history: the Empire Period. The Hyksos ruled an empire, not merely an Egyptian kingdom. They chose as their capital the city of Avaris in the Delta from which to govern their holdings on two continents. A capital in Upper or Middle Egypt would not have been sufficiently central. That the Hyksos ruled not only over Egypt but also over some of Western Asia paved the way for the Egyptian Empire that was to see Egypt’s maximum expansion beyond her own natural borders. Since the capital of the Hyksos was in the far north, the rulers were not in a position to control the far south; and it was from there that Egyptian nationalism, as has always been the case, rose again, finally to drive the invader out and establish the New Kingdom (as the Empire period is also called). With their expulsion around the year 1570 B.C by Ahmose I (about 1550-25 B.C.) of Thebes, the founder of the Eighteenth Dynasty, the New Kingdom began.

    The Sumerians were a people to be found in Mesopatamia, around 3000 B.C. They tended to predominate in war-fare, politics, and culture, and were the first to leave us numerous business records that give us a detailed insight into their economic life. They also produced a classical and religious literature that was translated into Semtic Akkadian and then into other languages. As long as the Babylonians and Assyrians perpetuated a culture of their own, they regarded Sumerian as their classical language and studied it as such. There was no cultural hostility between the Sumerians and their Semitic contemporaries and successors, because the Semitic inhabitants of Mesopotamia recognized their debt to Sumer and cherished its cultural heritage. Sumer was divided politically into city-states, each with its own cult. The city of Ur (from which Abraham in the Bible came) was a center for the worship of the moon-god Nanna (who was called Sin by the Semites). Nippur was the center of the cult of Enlil. Gods like Nanna and Enlil formed part of the pantheon known and revered throughout Mesopotamia. But some cities had cults dedicated to the worship of local gods. Thus Lagash was the center for the worship of Ningirsu, the patron god of the little city-state, that in more than one period reached high levels of culture. By the happy accident of discovery, many outstanding records of Lagash-both written and artistic-are in our possession.

    Archaeological research has revealed that the Sumerians were unsurpassed in antiquity in the field of metallurgy, and were second to none in all history in the arts of the goldsmith and the gem cutter.

    By the early third millennium BC, the Sumerians had reached the Balkan peninsula in search of precious metals. By at least the 24th century BC Sumerian culture has spread from its homeland in southern Mesopotamia to an area 700 miles to the northwest in neighboring Syria.

    Rok, isn’t amazing how these ‘lies’ of Jesus and Christianty HAS literally set multitudes FREE from the bondage of all kinds of personal and civic hell, over the centuries; and continues to SET Millions more FREE again and again, with living Peace, Joy, and true purpose for living, and the Gift of Eternal Life, all across the world?

    BUT, the supposed ‘truth’ that YOU, Hopi, and others insist is the right way, has ONLY left you in terrible bondage, misery, hatred and Hell?

    Darkness is supposed to be the ‘Truth’ which is ‘nothingness’ and the true ‘Light’ of the world Jesus Christ is supposed to be an imposter, well, the imposter bears witness to the reality of LIBERTY, FREEDOM, PEACE and JOY.

    How many people around the world have been set FREE by your religious philosophy?

    Two competing ‘Truth’ claims CANNOT be both right at the same time and place, this is the unchanging, unalterable, universal Law of Non-Contradiction in Logic.

    A propostion is TRUE when reality is the way it represents it to be. The Law of Identity in Logic.

    It is a fact, that when really pressed, we never anywhere, or at any time use any test [for truth] but one, Coherence is our sole criterion.

    The Historic Judeo/Christian World View, has passed this test with flying colours, over and over again; whereas, your world view FAILS miserably, over and over AGAIN, absolutely NO Coherence in anything true!
