Congratulations to Prime Minister Mia Mottley for being recognized by TIMES Magazine as one of The 100 Influential People of 2022. Based on reports the rationale for recommending Mottley for the award was penned by ย Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, director-general of the World Trade Organization.

The hope is that Mottley will be able to leverage her burgeoning global brand to improve regional and domestic economies. In recent times Barbadians have not had many high points to celebrate, the recognition of one of our own is a step in the right direction and should assist in bolstering bajan pride which took a hit in recent years.

The blogmaster read the several reports and is still begging to understand how Mottley tried to perpetuate a scam.

Pacha…they still don’t get it….lol…why waste your breath…no one called any names as scammers….although they are not new to these games, whatsapp scams are every day ordeals…the fact is, THEY ARE KNOWN AND RECOGNIZABLE and you never pass them on to other people, when you get them you BLOCK and REPORT..

  3. The scammer was being scammed.

Pacha…the source WhatsApp number was hacked according to another media…on a daily basis there are always 2 or 3 to block on my end, even on Instagram, people copy other people’s pages, especially celebrities. and pretend to be them…they are called social media or internet parasites, something like fowls/pimps, nothing useful to add, only mischief……lol

so how come the know-it-ALLS, don’t know this…

Everybody got a good laugh today, well needed for sure..

… they got MUCH, MUCH BIGGER problems than that unfolding though …..at least we can hope this one is not as big….but there is the fowl worrying about me who is no colossus of a BLIP on anyone’s radar….nor am ………the one WHO……tra la la………….and i sleep really, really well at night…don’t have to keep up any manufactured charade, but they do…

that’s all the fowls know, i was never any part of their political nastiness. absolutely abhor and repulsed by it……but yet…thatโ€™s who they are…

At times your tendency to the puerile beggars belief.
You cannot know, for example, that under US law if a cheque is made out to this writer and we signed it and gave you to deposit in your bank, such an arrangement is considered as money laundering. And the FBI comes for you. Not state police. Even though people in Barbados do this all the time.

But this is American law with international implications.

Similarly, if someone is perpetuating a conspiracy to defraud and you assist such an enterprise you are deemed to be its author. In this case Mottley not only failed to recognize the conduct of a fraud but assertively acted in its furtherance. Their law will presume that someone of her training and position cannot be excuse based on these false pleadings of yours. No wonder American jails are full of ‘innocent’ people like you …………………………………….. and Mia Mottley.

Their law will never considers any of the facile, small island, considerations which both you and Enuff talking partisan pollical shiiiiite bout!

We have supported your political tribe when we thought they were right.

Dont rassouul blame Waru. It is this writer who brought this issue to light right here after watching for a few day and there was zero editorial interest. Self censorship to protect stinking Mia Mottley!

Like you, this writer has no rassouuul friends here. Because the degenerative nature of ‘you’ *ucking Bajans is that once a disagreement emerges enmity is forever the watch word.

I posted it but it’s not showing up on BU…, he outlined how Mia contacted him…

that’s who the fowls are and will always be…the Belize PM is VERY EXPLICIT about what happened….he did not stutter…so i don’t know why the fowls are getting a conniption….panties twisted.

..i got it posted to my WordPress website just fine….that African Newsreel menu is still being upgraded, but the video plays…

They want people to cover up shite, and i don’t deal in cover-ups….what is there to cover up anyway, like the Belize PM said ya get whatsapp SCAMS EVERY DAY…i too get targeted….ya only look for rain when ya got clothes outside….and ya only cover up WHEN YA GUILTY of something…….

she called him…..he is very clear about that, he told the media she sent him the link……..

am used to BUs shitehounds trying to project their failures unto me AND FAILING AS USUAL..that is as far as they will ever get…..lol

the problem for them, there will be an investigation because the UN Secretary General’s whatsapp number got hacked, but if they are innocent why are they acting like this……..as i told them the hacking has increased TEN FOLD EVERYWHERE recently, everyone including them got targeted wuh they had to go offline because of it a couple months ago………

  15. Pacha – I said what I said.
Salemite – I added some context. A link was sent? #language

  16. Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
“Simply what happened is that Prime Minister Mottley called me on Friday and she said you’re going to get a message from the secretary general on the UN that the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have said that they want to assist 3 countries that they are setting aside 15 million dollars to help – 3 of the countries that have been hit hardest by Covid and as chairman of CARICOM that they are going to contact me. I was contacted using the secretary general Guiterrez WhatsApp and the message said lets do WhatsApp, because its encrypted. I contacted the secretary general and I contacted a few other people and then it was agreed that St. Lucia, Bahamas and Trinidad and Tobago were the 3 countries that were going to. They ask for numbers, we provided them the numbers. It is only when they contacted the prime minister of Trinidad and Tobago and then he became suspicious immediately.”

“Well. I had no re-communications as to what kind of money they were going to give and as soon as he was back and forth, realizing that these people are not really identifying themselves. He became a bit suspicious and then when he messaged me and then I said you know what I did not speak to the person, we were just messaging. I immediately said I think that’s a scam and what convinced him that it was a scam, when they were asking him well, for us to be able to send this money for you, you need to make a deposit in a bank in China. Those are all the red flags and that’s when he said we end right here and thats it.”

    Reported
“Someone purported to be the secretary general?”

    Hon. John Briceno, Prime Minister
“Yes, apparently it seems they captured his WhatsApp and I think that has happened to people here in Belize.”

PM Briceno added that no CARICOM leader was exposed – which we take to mea

Northern…i think he would know her voice…remember he said that they only wanted whatsapp communication no voice calls…..Rowley said the same thing, and her voice is distinctive. The only person that i know sounds like her, is her mother….and it’s doubtful she would call a fellow Caricom member..

  24. Enuff

Poor Waru. It turns out she was not even the one to interject the word โ€˜scamโ€™ into this. It was Briceno.

You would at least apologize for your interminable abuse or stop eating the fecal matter of Mottley for a day or two.๐Ÿ˜

    Waru
Thanks, on any other issues weโ€™ll have all the videos – Briceno and the T&T PM as well.

The video enables one to read all the other forms of communication, beyond mere words.

  25. Oh-ho! This is how they communicate these days, by whatsapp??? Seems a little too informal to me but what do I know!

Okay! Seems like she alerted the others that they would be contacted and Rowley only became suspicious later on when he was asked to deposit money in the Chinese Bank.

Apparently that happened later, after the initial contact.

That was the red flag that we all would have picked up. There was no danger of that happening. Still don’t like this whatsapp business, though. I don’t like this casual thing with government business.

thing about it, there was absolutely NO REASON to cover up or have a news blackout about this whatsappgate at all…all the other countries have it as a news item…..in the public interest…….but not the wannabes on BU…

from the time the fowls tried to project their loser attributes on me first thing this morning…, ya know they got something to hide or think they do…lol..because we done know they are at the very bottom of the political food chain and get NO INFO period, they are only allowed to run wild with no direction………the blighted plight of yardfowls…

let’s see what a UN investigation says…they will pretend they got the power to COVER UP THAT TOO…MURDAHHHH!!

And that’s how they made themselves look suspicious, normally no one would have thought anything about it, can’t expect the Belize PM to say he did not get a call from Mia…IF HE DID….this is why the island can never progress, beyond intellectual DISHONESTY AND STAGNATION, the first instinct, reflex is to cover up everything…

anyhoo…am off to bed,….Rijock can’t post shit bout me…lol..am sure there will be another article tonight or tomorrow…let them try to cover up that..

DLP president wants diaspora to have more say in local affairs
    By Kareem Smith
Democratic Labour Party (DLP) president Dr Ronnie Yearwood is calling for greater inclusion of the Barbadian diaspora in local decisionmaking processes, including national elections.
Describing the current relationship as โ€œone-sidedโ€, Yearwood declared that members of the diaspora are often used only as instruments of financial assistance.
โ€œToo often we see the diaspora as almost like an ATM machine,โ€ Dr Yearwood told Barbados TODAY.
โ€œWe go to them when we need their money, we go to them when thereโ€™s a hurricane, we reach out to them for things. We recognize, for example, that remittances in the Caribbean from the diaspora are in the billions of dollars.
We have to take their role seriously.
โ€œYes, we want to encourage their investment in the Caribbean, but we also have to recognise how to give them space to contribute to the development of the Caribbean, not only in remittances and investment and projects and things of that nature but through their knowledge and their ideas,โ€ he added.
The newly elected DLP president is engaging with members of the diaspora on a trip to the United Kingdom. He was recently invited to celebrate with the new Lord Mayor of Leicster, George Cole, who is the first person of African- Caribbean descent to hold the position. Dr Yearwoood also intends to meet with the DLPโ€™s UK branch in the coming days.
He said the talks would transcend discussions about money, instead examining how members of the overseas branch of the party can play a more active role in Barbadosโ€™ development.
โ€œConsiderations should be given for persons in the diaspora to be allowed to vote, and discussions started about what levels do we want them to vote and for who and what positions,โ€ Dr Yearwood declared.
Currently, only in-person voting is allowed in general elections, excluding scores of people in the diaspora.
โ€œThese are all really, really serious discussions because we canโ€™t continue what effectively is a one-sided relationship.
We take and take and take, but what role do they actively get to play in the policy space for the money that theyโ€™re giving, either through remittances or whether itโ€™s through supporting charities or investment? It cannot be that onesided relationship, so there has to be some rebalancing and we have to find a way to seriously do that,โ€ he added.
During the short interview, Dr Yearwood lauded the appointment of the Jamaican-born George Cole as Leicesterโ€™s new Lord Mayor, as a major milestone for Caribbean people everywhere.
The DLP leader said he had paid the Lord Mayor a courtesy call to discuss pressing issues like climate change, crime and investment.
โ€œThere are practical ways that these cities can help us in terms of free trade, providing for markets, and what you recognise in large countries is that cities are often the movers of a new policy and change. Because cities have certain freedoms, there are also diverse, and not only culturally diverse but politically diverse,โ€ said Dr Yearwood.
โ€œThereโ€™s always high technology intensity around cities, so cities can be very helpful to help us in Barbados and the region in fighting our battles.
โ€œSo, it is useful to understand where these cities are, where our communities in these cities are, what theyโ€™re doing and what theyโ€™re achieving and to be part of that and to celebrate that,โ€ he added. kareemsmith@barbadostoday.bb

  35. I have no Nemesis, fool! We are on the same side but with different methods and expectations of the human race.

Besides which, I don’t spend my days scouring websites for scandals. Everything comes out eventually in plenty of time for me to become aware. I have no desire to break news.

I try not to blow things out of proportion. This scam had zero chance of being successful. Which PM has the autonomy to deposit money in a Chinese bank account just so. or which PM would be that stupid? Ms. Mottley received a message and passed it on. The huge red flag came AFTER her initial interaction. The only problem I have is that it does appear to have been ignored by our news media.

    That is curious and troubling.

  38. Hot and sweaty

DLP president criticises โ€œhot and sweatyโ€ approach to education reform
Government has been encouraged to abandon โ€œhot and sweatyโ€ approaches to education reform in favour of a well thought out, researched and inclusive process.
President of the Democratic Labour Party (DLP) Dr Ronnie Yearwood said the approach to governance was one which he had discussed with members of the diaspora, during his current trip to the United Kingdom, as an area of concern.
The educator at the University of the West Indies said a significant portion of his trip has been spent at leading learning institutions, examining the methods of teaching and the curriculum that could contribute to reforms at home.
โ€œPerhaps now is the time for them to do some fact-finding and to try to see what are best practices, whether in the Caribbean or in the diaspora, from our educational schools that are performing well, and what can we learn and draw from them and all around us and, importantly, learn from the experts,โ€ he said.
โ€œWe have experts on the ground in Barbados and Iโ€™ve mentioned this before. The government needs to stop this kind of hot and sweaty thing where we make announcements and then we have to come and say โ€˜oh, weโ€™re not going to be able to do thisโ€™.โ€
Throughout her two terms in office, Prime Minister Mia Mottley has announced sweeping reforms in education that include the abolition of the Common Entrance exam among other things.
Days ago, however, she revealed that while Government is still committed to scrapping the 11-plus, the transition would take at least another two or three years.
โ€œThe abolition of the 11-plus is not a decision that can be made today for tomorrow and whatever paper comes will probably have a minimum of a two-year lead up in order to put things in place, because what you are transitioning from is a system that has been in place for decades,โ€ said Mottley.
โ€œAnd, therefore, whenever the paper comes and whenever the consultations start and whenever the decision is settled, then you still need to have a long lead-up in order to execute and to have a seamless transition as long as possible.โ€
The newly elected DLP president said the โ€œhot and sweatyโ€ approach to governance was one that he had discussed with members of the diaspora as an area of concern.
โ€œWe saw a very similar thing within the diaspora and I raised this with some of the members in terms of the Government wanting the diaspora to invest more, but not being able to facilitate that investment in a real way or not being able to have serious conversations about their participation in Barbados,โ€ he said. (KS)

Whatever Mottley does is well done.
    1. The classic: she became involved with a police matter involving a citizen, who had her on speed dial.
The defense of such an inappropriate action by a PM:
Mia is like that she talks to everybody.
    2. She goes and gets involved in some vaccine business (scandal)completely above the head of the the then Minister of Health.
    The defense:
No money ainโ€™t pass , so what is the big thing.
    3. Her Former Minister of Education declares that the Eleven Plus will be abolished after 2022
Mia comes and says no way it could take two or three years to get it right
    The defense
    They canโ€™t find one yet.
However , I do agree with the PM that it cannot be achieved just so. I hope to express this agreement in a coming article.
I said from day one that Bradshaw was all presentation and no content. Mia moved her from that ministry and I agreed.
But I expect in response to this the apologists , die hards and โ€œ we love Barbados more than anybody else โ€œ crowd, will remind me of Cahill, garbage and buses running late.
So, wuh evuh Mottley does is well done. And even Chris Sinckler agrees.
