While we as islanders discuss silly Bible verses and an alleged duopoly, the GDP of Guyana will soon be as large as that of all other CARICOM territories combined. It’s amazing that some of us now see Guyana’s potential.Many small business people have been involved in trading with Guyana for decades: green heart , shrimp and other seafood, fruits etc .
Almost sixty years ago Eric Williams and then Errol Barrow talked about the abundance of natural resources of that country and its ability to feed the entire Caribbean.
We scorned the efforts of Burnham in Guyana and basically made sport of the Guyanese people. In recent years the visionless Duopoly has engineered many negative attitudes toward Guyanese who came to live amongst us.
I certainly don’t look forward to Barbadians being only poorly paid workers. What we suffer from is basically poor leadership in all sectors and a lack of vision. Depending constantly on others to bail us out .
We would be well advised to ignore these liars who are trying to portray Barbadians as lazy , unproductive people whose only hope is to chambermaids. That is not what we are and I hope that those who have no vision will look around and see the abundance of talent we have in this country that only wants a leg up.
We have Barbadians who excel in all areas both at home and abroad. Half of those who carry their talents elsewhere do do to avoid dealing with a political class that has no uses for talent unless you have the appropriate party membership card.
We really need to lift public discourse from the silliness that has taken root. No wonder then that we have citizens who bluntly refuse to expose themselves and families to the civil effort.

I am dismissive of his colonial religiosity, contemptuous of his lack of understanding of economics, during the last election campaign I publicly accused him on this blog of being parsimonious with the truth, and I find his writing style turgid and uninspiring. In short, I do not believe that Grenville likes me very much.
Nevertheless it appears to me that your assertion that he is a money launderer is defamation of his character. None of the information that you have posted supports this irrational conclusion.
It is widely known that his father Grenville Phillips senior has made many millions of dollars from his business investments both inside and outside Barbados. Therefore showing the existence of foreign assets is NOT evidence on money laundering. Money laundering is defined as the transfer of stolen or illegally obtained money. You have shown absolutely NO evidence that any part of the Phillips family fortune has been illegally obtained.
Your accusations are without merit and reflect badly on your own character.

Of course the economy of Barbados is run by a narrow elite with interlocking directorships; in other words by a “very well known,WELL RESEARCHED GANG.” That is how capitalism works. It is the same in Canada, in the USA, in the UK, in France, in Russia, even in China.
None of that has anything to do with your accusation of money laundering, which is a very specific criminal offence.
If you advocate change the way the economy of Barbados is run by a narrow elite with interlocking directorships you will not do it by telling lies. That just discredits you and makes it harder to bring down the corrupt system.
