President Donald Trump has suffered the ignominy of being the third President of the United States to be impeached by the House of Congress. The vote was along party lines – when the matter is kicked to the Republican controlled Senate the Articles of the Resolution to impeach is anticipated to be rejected.

What cannot be refuted is that Donald J Trump is now recorded in history as the third president of the United States to be impeached.

Donald Trump you are fired!

@ John, in turn I guess you aren’t able to READ very clear, simple coherent English unless it’s birthed from right wing propagandists.
But tell yah what …as soon as u clearly summarize that endless 1hr video for @ChrisH and the blog I’ll translate my blurb for you.
    Fair exchange bro. Step up!

    +++++++++++++++++++++

What’s to summarise, check transistor and Shockley on WIKI.

I can copy and paste if you really insist but it seems simple enough to do.

  2. If you go to WIKI you will find that excerpts are taken directly from PBS material on Shockley.

  3. So which one is it?

You want me to copy and paste or you feel you can manage googling?

@John this is likely pointless but what the heck….

I have no particular interest in googling your Shockley video or the Wiki data about it … I simply agree with @ChrisH’s basic point which I interpret to be: if you post a link/video here then provide us blog dwellers with some pertinent summation of the point being made by your contributed link…. do NOT just post blithely!

This is straight forward blog etiquette in my view.

Or let me put it otherwise. If former Dean Jeff posted a video or link here in support of a point he raised I would access it without question as I would be fairly confident it is as advertised and that it would expand my awareness of the matter at hand.

You, I think not! …so just tell me briefly what you linking to cause I ain’t following u down your ferret holes!

I just don’t trust ur bona fides brother!

I hope that’s clear, simple English.

  12. There are people on this thread who cannot face the facts about the relatively poor academic performance of blacks as a group — compared, that is, to the performance of other major racial groups.

Sadly, if you compare blacks, whites and Asians in any major North American school district, blacks are at the bottom of the pile. Everywhere. Toronto. Halifax. New York. Houston. Kansas City. Etc., etc.

The situation is bad in high schools, but it gets worse at the post-secondary level, especially in difficult subjects like mathematics, the physical sciences and engineering, but even in professional fields like law and medicine.

So if hurling personal insults makes you feel better, go ahead. I’m only pointing to some widely known facts.

  14. Men however can’t bear children!!

The best and brightest mothers are streets ahead of the best and brightest fathers when it comes to raising them.

  15. The secret is in the family that raises the child.

More strong families, strong young people a plenty.

Then they just need to work together as one and not much they can’t overcome, black, white or …. green!!

Understand the division created and get rid of it.

    Get back to first principles.

  17. Trump’s Mar-A-Lago Winter Vacation Pushes Taxpayer Golf Tab Above $118 million

President Donald Trump has pushed his taxpayer-funded golf tab past $118 million on his 26th visit to Mar-a-Lago, his for-profit resort in Palm Beach, Florida, with a Saturday visit to his course in neighboring West Palm Beach.

The new total is the equivalent of 296 years of the $400,000 presidential salary that his supporters often boast that he is not taking.

And of that $118.3 million, at least several million has gone into Trump’s own cash registers, as Secret Service agents, White House staff and other administration officials stay and eat at his hotels and golf courses.

The exact amount going into Trump’s pocket cannot be determined because the White House refuses to reveal how many Trump aides have been staying at his properties when he visits them and the administration will not turn over receipts for the charges incurred.

Trump’s White House on Saturday also ignored queries regarding Trump’s golf partners, continuing its practice of keeping that information secret unless he plays with a celebrity or with Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-S.C.). Previous administrations routinely disclosed the president’s golf partners.

At this exact point in former President Barack Obama’s first term, he had spent 88 days on a golf course. Saturday was Trump’s 227th day as president on a course that he owns. If Trump continues golfing at the pace he has set in his first three years, he will surpass in just one term the total number of days Obama spent golfing over two full terms — despite having repeatedly criticized Obama for playing too much golf and having promised, as a candidate, that he would be too busy to play any golf at all.

Just three years into his presidency, Trump’s travel and security expenses for his golf hobby exceed an estimate of eight years worth of expenses incurred by Obama’s family travel by millions of dollars.

  18. Don’t forget Trump wanted to host the 2020 Group of Seven (G7) summit at his Trump National Doral Miami, but subsequently abandoned his plans after critics decried the selection as evidence of the president misusing his office for personal gain.

Ironically, Doral has not been profitable during the past few years. So you could see where Trump was going with awarding the contract to his hotel to host the summit.

In September 2019, Pence and his coterie of family, aides and security stayed a night at the Trump International Golf Links & Hotel in Doonbeg during a trip to Ireland, despite the fact that it was 181 miles from his meetings in Dublin.

  19. Do you think he should be impeached for that?

  20. EXCELLENT READ…THE MAYOR OF LIVERMORE CALIFORNIA EXPLAINS TRUMP’S POPULARITY AND SUCCESS. THIS IS PERHAPS THE BEST EXPLANATION FOR TRUMP’S POPULARITY

Marshall Kamena is a registered Democrat and was elected mayor of Livermore, CA.. He ran on the democratic ticket as he knew a Bay Area city would never vote for a Republican. He is as conservative as they come. He wrote the following from an article, originally written by Evan Sayet and his opinion he expressed as a columnists for Townhall.com were his own and did not represent the views of Townhall.com, were mistakenly attributed to Marshall Kamena by me.

Trump’s ‘lack of decorum, dignity, and statesmanship’ By Evan Sayet in his article “He Fights

My Leftist friends (as well as many ardent #NeverTrumpers) constantly ask me if I’m not bothered by Donald Trump’s lack of decorum. They ask if I don’t think his tweets are “beneath the dignity of the office.”

Here’s my answer: We Right-thinking people have tried dignity. There could not have been a man of more quiet dignity than George W. Bush as he suffered the outrageous lies and politically motivated hatreds that undermined his presidency.

    We tried statesmanship.

Could there be another human being on this earth who so desperately prized “collegiality” as John McCain?

We tried propriety – has there been a nicer human being ever than Mitt Romney?

AND THE RESULTS WERE ALWAYS THE SAME. THIS IS BECAUSE, WHILE WE WERE PLAYING BY THE RULES OF DIGNITY, COLLEGIALITY AND PROPRIETY, THE LEFT HAS BEEN, FOR THE PAST 60 YEARS, ENGAGED IN A KNIFE FIGHT WHERE THE ONLY RULES ARE THOSE OF SAUL ALINSKY AND THE CHICAGO MOB.

I don’t find anything “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper” about Barack Obama’s lying about what went down on the streets of Ferguson in order to ramp up racial hatreds because racial hatreds serve the Democratic Party.

I don’t see anything “dignified” in lying about the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi and imprisoning an innocent filmmaker to cover your tracks.

I don’t see anything “statesman-like” in weaponizing the IRS to be used to destroy your political opponents and any dissent.

Yes, Obama was “articulate” and “polished” but in no way was he in the least bit “dignified,” “collegial” or “proper.”

THE LEFT HAS BEEN ENGAGED IN A WAR AGAINST AMERICA SINCE THE RISE OF THE CHILDREN OF THE ‘60’S. TO THEM, IT HAS BEEN AN ALL-OUT WAR WHERE NOTHING IS HELD SACRED AND NOTHING IS SEEN AS BEYOND THE PALE.. IT HAS BEEN A WAR THEY’VE FOUGHT WITH VIOLENCE, THE THREAT OF VIOLENCE, DEMAGOGUERY AND LIES FROM DAY ONE – THE VIOLENT TAKE-OVER OF THE UNIVERSITIES – TILL TODAY.

The problem is that, through these years, the Left has been the only side fighting this war. While the Left has been taking a knife to anyone who stands in their way, the Right has continued to act with dignity, collegiality and propriety.

With Donald Trump, this all has come to an end. Donald Trump is America ’s first wartime president in the Culture War.

During wartime, things like “dignity” and “collegiality” simply aren’t the most essential qualities one looks for in their warriors. Ulysses Grant was a drunk whose behavior in peacetime might well have seen him drummed out of the Army for conduct unbecoming.

Had Abraham Lincoln applied the peacetime rules of propriety and booted Grant, the Democrats might well still be holding their slaves today.

LINCOLN RIGHTLY RECOGNIZED THAT, “I CANNOT SPARE THIS MAN. HE FIGHTS.”

General George Patton was a vulgar-talking.. In peacetime, this might have seen him stripped of rank. But, had Franklin Roosevelt applied the normal rules of decorum then, HITLER AND THE SOCIALISTS WOULD BARELY BE FIVE DECADES INTO THEIR THOUSAND-YEAR REICH.

TRUMP IS FIGHTING. AND WHAT’S PARTICULARLY DELICIOUS IS THAT, LIKE PATTON STANDING OVER THE BATTLEFIELD AS HIS TANKS OBLITERATED ROMMEL’S, HE’S SHOUTING, “YOU MAGNIFICENT BASTARDS, I READ YOUR BOOK!”

That is just the icing on the cake, but it’s wonderful to see that not only is Trump fighting, he’s defeating the Left using their own tactics. THAT BOOK IS SAUL ALINSKY’S RULES FOR RADICALS – A BOOK SO ESSENTIAL TO THE LIBERALS’ WAR AGAINST AMERICA THAT IT IS AND WAS THE PLAYBOOK FOR THE ENTIRE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION AND THE SUBJECT OF HILLARY CLINTON’S SENIOR THESIS.

It is a book of such pure evil, that, just as the rest of us would dedicate our book to those we most love or those to whom we are most indebted, Alinsky dedicated his book to Lucifer.

Trump’s tweets may seem rash and unconsidered but, in reality, he is doing exactly what Alinsky suggested his followers do. First, instead of going after “the fake media” — and they are so fake that they have literally gotten every single significant story of the past 60 years not just wrong, but diametrically opposed to the truth, from the Tet Offensive to Benghazi, to what really happened on the streets of Ferguson, Missouri — TRUMP ISOLATED CNN.. HE MADE IT PERSONAL.

Then, just as Alinsky suggests, he employs ridicule which Alinsky described as “the most powerful weapon of all.”… Most importantly, Trump’s tweets have put CNN in an untenable and unwinnable position. … They need to respond.

This leaves them with only two choices. They can either “go high” (as Hillary would disingenuously declare of herself and the fake news would disingenuously report as the truth) and begin to honestly and accurately report the news or they can double-down on their usual tactics and hope to defeat Trump with twice their usual hysteria and demagoguery. The problem for CNN (et al.) with the former is that, if they were to start honestly reporting the news, that would be the end of the Democratic Party they serve. It is nothing but the incessant use of fake news (read: propaganda) that keeps the Left alive.

Imagine, for example, if CNN had honestly and accurately reported then-candidate Barack Obama’s close ties to foreign terrorists (Rashid Khalidi), domestic terrorists (William Ayers & Bernardine Dohrn), the mafia (Tony Rezko) or the true evils of his spiritual mentor, Jeremiah Wright’s church.

Imagine if they had honestly and accurately conveyed the evils of the Obama administration’s weaponizing of the IRS to be used against their political opponents or his running of guns to the Mexican cartels or the truth about the murder of Ambassador Christopher Stevens and the Obama administration’s cover-up.

So, to my friends on the Left — and the #NeverTrumpers as well — do I wish we lived in a time when our president could be “collegial” and “dignified” and “proper”? Of course I do.

THESE AREN’T THOSE TIMES. THIS IS WAR. AND IT’S A WAR THAT THE LEFT HAS BEEN FIGHTING WITHOUT OPPOSITION FOR THE PAST 50 YEARS.

So, say anything you want about this president – I GET IT – HE CAN BE VULGAR, HE CAN BE CRUDE, HE CAN BE UNDIGNIFIED AT TIMES. I DON’T CARE. I CAN’T SPARE THIS MAN. HE FIGHTS FOR AMERICA!

  21. “Go check Obama” ABOUT WHAT??!!??!

Conservative group Judicial Watch criticized Obama for spending $106 million for travel over his two full terms. Trump’s golf tab surpassed that in just 30 months.

Trump criticized Obama for playing too much golf, saying if he becomes president he won’t have time to play the game.

“During Obama’s presidency, Trump was a frequent critic of Obama’s golf hobby. “Can you believe that, with all of the problems and difficulties facing the U.S., President Obama spent the day playing golf. Worse than Carter,” he wrote on Twitter in 2014.”

    https://twitter.com/i/status/1168838906068049920

However, “Trump spent Monday visiting his Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia, and tweeting political grievances as a massive hurricane prepares to barrel up the East Coast of the United States.”

“Trump’s visit to Trump National marked the 289th day he has spent at a Trump property and the 227th day he has spent at one of his golf clubs as President.”

“Trump said Sunday that he’s “not sure that (he’s) ever even heard of a Category 5″ hurricane, despite four such storms — including Hurricane Dorian — having threatened the US since he took office.”

“We don’t even know what’s coming at us. All we know is it’s possibly the biggest. I have — I’m not sure that I’ve ever even heard of a Category 5. I knew it existed. And I’ve seen some Category 4’s — you don’t even see them that much,” Trump said Sunday at a briefing with officials at FEMA headquarters.”

In the UK girls/women outperform men from GCSE to post-graduate. Only over the last year have boys been fighting back in GCSE after the rules changed and the rules were changed because of concerns about the performance of boys.
This is also reflected in the growing number of medical consultants, top lawyers, teachers, etc. In fact, the ratio of women to men teaching in primary schools is frightening and this is becoming so in secondary schools also.
In NHS England, the health authority, a high number of the medical scientists with PhDs are women of colour.

    @Ewart
You are pointing to some widely known facts and then falling into widely discredited White supremacist theory to explain those facts.

When my brother, sister and I reached top Canadian universities we were both right at the top of our classes. My own son’s were at the top of their classes from French immersion kindergarten through post secondary education. That’s because the household culture in which we grew up and raised our children was much different to the one most Black children are burdened with. Many Black children are raised by Black racist parents who teach them that they are inferior.

When I call you a racist it is not as an insult, just as a factually descriptive adjective. Your acceptance of White supremacist ideology is sad, all the more so if you have passed that handicap on to children.

  24. When the system is compromised and corrupted you have to play the system.
Pelosi is sticking her impeachment papers in the freezer until Senate become impartial.

the system is rigged against blacks who are stereotyped as blacks not individuals like whites

  25. That’s because the household culture in which we grew up and raised our children was much different to the one most Black children are burdened with.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So who burdened them with this different household culture?

Each family creates its own household culture.

It isn’t only families of one colour that have problems they can’t seem to overcome within their household.

    All do.

The only difference is the extent of the problem.

No household is made up of blacks just as no house hold is made of whites.

A household is made up of a single family and that single family is either functional or dysfunctional or somewhere in between.

It is a unit, like a cohort, the basis of the Roman army.

One question … how many politicians do we have with functional families?

One more …. how many prime ministers with functional families have we had since independence?

Finally, what does their example do to the country and its families?

  26. Families build businesses and businesses employ people.

Families are crucial to the economy.

We have spent 2 or 3 generations undermining this fundamental institution.

  27. PLT

You really seem to believe that underperforming blacks just need a little more self esteem. Or better parents. Then all will be well and they will be able to compete with anyone.

Of course, if you are going to have the option of a public service career in Barbados, you have no choice but to claim such beliefs. I understand your position. I don’t live or work in Barbados so I have more latitude to speak my mind.

I must correct you on one important point, however. While I reject the adequacy of the “cultural difference” explanation for black underperformance, and I am open to the possibility of a genetic factor, I have never said that blacks are genetically inferior. Not enough is known about racial differences in cognitive functioning for me to go that far.

  28. Blacks must stop trying to prove anything to white people or any other race. just stop. it will make no difference whatsoever.

if we arent intelligent so what? and if we are so what?

  29. “A household is made up of a single family and that single family is either functional or dysfunctional or somewhere in between.”

Going back to your slave ancestor (grandmother?) who was bequeathed a plantation, perhaps she harnessed the power of the pussy that she had to give up as her masters property.

  30. peterlawrencethompson Avatar
    peterlawrencethompson

    @Ewart Archer
You do NOT understand my position at all.

Cultural factors which inhibit the performance of Black people CANNOT be abbreviated or truncated to “a little more self esteem.” You, like many other racists, seem to take pride in being ahistorical and ignoring both past and present realities.

I am not now, nor have I ever been, in the public service in Barbados, Canada, or the USA. I live in Barbados now by choice since I do not have to rely on the Barbadian economy for my income. I have complete latitude to speak my mind and do whatever the hell I please with my time; mostly working as a management consultant for new entrepreneurs and non-profit enterprises.

I am glad that you are now trying to walk back your clear implication that Black people are genetically inferior; I quote:
“For blacks, the corresponding numbers were 354 doctorates in physics for men and 66 for women.
To explain such large “racial” disparities as entirely due to “cultural” differences defies common sense.”

As you are perfectly aware, ‘nature’ or ‘nurture’ are the only broad categories of difference for an explanation of black underperformance. You reject the adequacy of the “cultural difference,” or nurture, and jump into the White supremacist camp of it being attributable to genetics, or nature.

    Just sayin’

  31. PLT

    You are being provocative.

I’m not trying to walk back anything. I said I’m open to a genetic theory of racial differences in academic performance because cultural factors cannot plausibly explain the magnitude of the performance gaps..

But someone still has to figure out the details of how and why the cognitive processing systems of the smartest white people differ from the way my brain works. The biology of the brain is not well understood.

  32. But someone still has to figure out the details of how and why the cognitive processing systems of the smartest white people differ from the way my brain works. The biology of the brain is not well understood.

I HAVE NEVER PAID FOR UNIVERSITY HAVING ALWAYS BEEN AWARDED SCHOLARSHIPS ALONG WITH ATTAINING THE GRADES NEEDED UNLIKE THE WHITES WHOM IN ALL CASES I OUTPERFORMED.

MY DEGREES ARE IN TECHNICAL FIELDS.

I ALSO HAVE BROTHERS AND SISTERS WHO HAVE DEGREES FROM UWI AND USA.

ALL BLACK AND BORN IN POVERTY LIKE MYSELF.

  33. I believe it is the Asians who outperform everybody … by far.

    https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0049089X15300570

When I was at university there was an elective (not sure if that is the right term) I did not follow but which was dominated by Asians, many from Malaysia.

We rubbed shoulders in individual courses.

    None of them were geniuses.

    They simply worked together.

If books in the library were limited, one member would borrow and a second, third fourth etc would have their names down as the next in line.

They worked hard as in real hard, and they supported each other dividing tasks.

That’s one of the reasons I believe girls outperform boys at secondary school in Barbados.

A boy in Barbados is not conditioned to work as a part of a group, he is either able to shine on his own or he is not.

I never was a part of any study group and cannot think of a reason why I would have become a part of a group.

I worked hard and just stuck to trying to fulfil the expectations of my family/mother, DO THE BEST YOU CAN.

I never competed with any other student, just myself!!

I was blessed but I can see the benefits now of working as a part of a group.

    It is a lot easier.

The problems with a group are the politics and envy, but it sure makes life easier when it works.

Girls have it tough too if there are snooty ones in the class but usually the snooty ones are not likely to be academic stars and the academically gifted automatically gravitate away from such and to each other.

They just speak a different “language”.

  34. peterlawrencethompson Avatar
    peterlawrencethompson

    @ Ewart Archer
You might feel that I’m provocative, but I’m simply pointing out that you are parroting White supremacist propaganda that has been conclusively disproven.

Let me put this in simple scientific terms. Racial grouping is itself a cultural construction. It has no basis in genetic science. Therefore any explanation of racial distinction cannot be anything except a cultural phenomenon. It’s that simple. It is complete nonsense to posit a genetic explanation for a cultural construction.

  35. Baje

You are another example of a black idiot. It was a miracle if you could outperform anyone in the classroom because you clearly do not understand the simple debate on this thread

The main argument is about the AVERAGE performance of blacks as a group when individual blacks are in academic competition with individuals of other racial groups. Why does that AVERAGE, which summarizes the performance of the group, differ so much from the AVERAGE performance of other groups.

The second argument is whether there is an identifiable difference in the cognitive processing of individuals that has something to do with race.

If these questions do not interest you, go about your business. If you hurl insults at me, I will reply in kind.

  36. PLT

Yes, I’ve read Stephen Gould. I accept that the simple division of modern humans into three main races is problematic because the biological variation within each group is so great.

But I do not accept the idea that race is purely a social construction. I believe there are real, systematic biological differences between someone like me and many whites and Asians. We just haven’t pinned down what they are.

I probably should have stayed away from the word “genetic” because the expression of any gene depends on environmental factors, and makes explanation murky.

  37. Incidentally, there is disagreement among geneticists about the value of “race” as a biological concept

Certainly, there is no scientific consensus that “race” is a meaningless concept. You are mischaracterizing the scholarly literature. For every geneticist who takes PLT’s position, there is another who disagrees.

  38. peterlawrencethompson Avatar
    peterlawrencethompson

    @Ewart
The simple division of modern humans into three main races is not “problematic,” it is completely a cultural construction with no basis in science. It is a relic of the racism which is still so pervasive in our culture that you accept this nonsense even though you cannot defend your acceptance at all.

“The expression of any gene depends on environmental factors…” Bingo! In other words cultural factors explain all the statistical differences that you point out.

  39. “I believe it is the Asians who outperform everybody … by far.”

Asians may be more intelligent than whites who may be more intelligent than blacks
Blacks may be more physical than whites who may be more physical than asians
but these rules cannot be applied to every black brown yellow red white as axioms of truth
white supremacy is a fallacy, people cannot be deemed superior due to having less melanin and susceptible to be burnt in the sun
people are people all are different and all are the same
we all live and die, breathe same air, drink same water and have more in common than differences

  41. Many in that group of Asians I rubbed shoulders with at university were sent to English universities by their governments for a purpose.

Their Governments had a plan and they were to be the skilled resource that made that plan work.

They would probably have become poor s.o.b.s. like their parents and grandparents were it not for the opportunity given them by their governments and the task assigned them.

The result was a highly motivated and driven group of gifted individuals all working for a common goal.

The point is they don’t have to be geniuses.

The British students on the other hand had their grants and a guaranteed place at university.

Academically, most performed poorly, not because they were dumb or intellectually inferior, but because they were not motivated.

Many spent their time Pub Crawling, by no means a disrespectful profession, but a waste when their competition was spending their time studying.

The result is that many of the manufacturing jobs in the growing electronics industry went to the Far East and today countries like Singapore, Malaysia and others prosper.

Those countries have their own universities staffed by lecturers at the top of their field.

    They create their own technologies.

It isn’t by accident or the result of some genetic aberration but by design.

The ability to plan and execute is the key issue, the detail of what disciplines are needed is just that, a detail.

    What does our government promote?

    Music!!!

    It perpetuates Shockley’s assertion!!

Black people are only good at music!!

But spend some time actually listening to some of the music produced, it sucks!!

  42. “Many in that group of Asians I rubbed shoulders with at university were sent to English universities by their governments for a purpose”

You have never been to Asia, there are many low life criminals, robbers, drug dealers, murderers, corruptions as everywhere else.

You could even say underdeveloped countries have underdeveloped brains.

Black people are original people, God’s favourites, singers and players of instruments, dancers of free souls.

I should have said the expression of genes is INFLUENCED (but not completely determined) by environmental factors.
Environment is important, but our genetic endowment matters too, and we simply don’t know whether that genetic endowment is (imperfectly) aligned with the much-criticized concept of “race” in a way that helps to explain differences in cognitive processing.

“I accept that the simple division of modern humans into three main races is problematic because the biological variation within each group is so great.”
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

In one of your earlier contributions we got the distinct impression that you were ‘believer’ in the Christian faith.

If our assumption is valid, how, therefore, can you argue along these lines of racial differentiation when your faith puts all of mankind squarely on the same footing before your God by sharing a common ancestral origin in Adam & Eve?

Even the story about the eponymous character of Gilgamesh fame called Noah would contradict any theory about racial differentiation on this Yahweh-made planet.

The question for you, Ewart A, is: of which (modern) race were Adam and therefore Eve and their descendants?

Were they brilliantly ‘white’ or naively stupidly sinful ‘black’ or some where, defectively, in between?

PS: You might be on to something of such cultural significance that your argument in support of Dr. Mengele’s theory might just find a foothold of acceptance among those whose believe that blacks are intellectually ‘submissive and subservient to white people.

Would you agree that white people have done a tremendously convincing job in getting blacks to see and relate to God through a white man-made prism?

The white man has a done a real demolition job on the sub-Saharan African psyche by deliberately encouraging them to see only one God which has been carved in the European man’s image.

It’s a goddamn pity the white man has to hide behind a hood and white robe (with the marking “KKK”) to display his acts of racial superiority when burning down ‘black’ churches and homes of naïve creatures who have been burnt too much by the real God of mankind for them to feel Its presence and control.

  46. Miller

I maintain my practice of the Roman Catholic faith in which I was raised primarily because it helps me to cope with the fear of death.

I don’t believe that every word in the bible is true. Like most people, I accept the likely validity of at least some elements of Darwin’s theory of evolution.

  47. I find it amazing that so many black people are convinced that our dismal performance in so many arenas of human struggle is entirely accidental.

  48. PLT

If you performed a factor analysis (or used some other statistical grouping procedure) of the biological characteristics of individuals, you would end up with a classification system you could call “racial” that could eventually be consolidated into a few classes not much different from the system we inherited from the 19th century.

Race is much more than a cultural concept.

  49. @EA: “Race is much more than a cultural concept.

Indeed it is. It also sometimes involves how many photos bounce off one’s skin. And the “temperature” of same.

To share, when I was in Grade 5 (11 years old) my teacher had a very innovative teaching style.

We each had a little box of 3×5 inch cards, which listed all the tasks we had to complete. We could choose what we wanted to work on, in little cubicles or group tables.

There was a “class meeting” every morning, with every student sitting on the floor around the teacher. She would ask us all what we thought about the lessons, and on the blackboard would write out some stuff. Everyone was given the opportunity to speak, and ask questions. She was also always available to meet with privately, at her desk in the corner.

After each morning’s meeting, she would sometimes assign students who were strong in some subjects to help others who were weak in same.

I have to say I got a great deal of assistance from my classmates with my English assignments during that year. To this day I still cannot smell to save my life!

P.S. I also, of course, assisted my classmates with the Maths work. I can’t remember that teacher’s name, but after I had blown through all the Grade 5 maths within the first month, she gave me a book on Algebra. I used to sit in the playground, reading.

P.P.S. Seriously. Beyond my extended family, I think she was the single most important influence on my life.
