I applaud President Obama for the bold reforms to the nation’s broken immigration system, albeit temporary. Immigration reform does not only impact our Latino brothers and sisters. Hundreds of thousands of immigrants from the Caribbean, South America and Africa now qualify for relief from the threat of deportation and will become eligible for lawful employment.
Almost all undocumented immigrants from the Caribbean and Guyana enter the United States lawfully but overstayed their visas and thus are out of status. A large percent has children and/or spouses who are either US citizens or permanent residents. Thousands more arrived before their sixteenth birthday but are ineligible for DACA because they are currently above age thirty-one. They have all lived here for a long time – decades in some cases, and are law abiding. America is their home. They deserve a shot at the American dream. Thanks to President’s initiates, they can now emerge from the shadows to pursue that dream, once they pass a criminal background check and pay any back taxes accrued.
This is a historic day for America – A nation of immigrants. Millions of families will remain united and millions of people will without fear begin to contribute to society and the US treasury. Economists forecast that this could boost GDP by over $1 trillion.
Republicans are not only opposing President Obama. They are attacking the relatives of millions of US citizens who vote, as well as millions of US permanent residents who will soon become voters. When these millions of Americans go to the polls to exercise their franchise, they will remember who stood with them and fought to keep their families united and who fought to tear their families and the nation apart!

US Education can be ridiculously expensive a backlash had to come, it is a Universal Law. Computers will/ are levelling the playing field—The Earth is Flat!
Education going forward requires the Best teachers/ lecturers delivering the material easily, accessible electronically this is especially needed in Nth Am in basci Math. I had to teach my kids Math until they went to Uni of Toronto Schools where their Math Teachers were excellent, even better than HC!
Even at junior levels the kids will learn first from such media and then any trouble will be individually ironed out by the class room teacher.The teaching role will have to adapt!

The second part of the amendment reads: ” The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be Infringed.” The definition of Infringed according to the Oxford American Dictionary means to: (1) break the terms of a law, agreement (2) to limit or restrict someone’s rights.
The U.S. Constitution has within it certain absolute rights/ laws which turns out to be the Achilles Heel for the Republic.

Every police knows that their job is high risk and by taking the job knows and understand that their life can be shortened without notice ,those are the risk which police knowingly take to serve and protect, however before granted and given such an humongous task, the police are subjected to special training in areas of defense , , some of those who choose deadly force says fear is the mitigating factor and to most looking at the series of events which have led to the killing of mostly black youth one can.t help but wonder if the fear that these police are using as a defense is drawn out of a realism or just a fear which remains active in their minds because of the person color,
One should also take into account that these killing of black youth by policemen have more often been done at the hands of white cops,which drives home a troubling fear for many black mothers and reinforces a real fear that when black youths are caught in the cross hairs of white cops the likely result will be death, not because of the nature of a crime being committed but a Fear which these cops use as an excuse to retaliate

It is precisely Police training that most people like yourself dont seem to grasp. In Toronto if you have any weapon and move towards a Police they can shoot you at like 20 ft away as they have scientifically tested that as the minimum distance to be sure they are not hurt. Each Police Dept has slightly different rules.
In London the off duty Soldier that was hacked to death may not have died had the responding Police been armed, they stopped their car around the corner and waited for 20 minutes to the armed PO Po arrived. In TO chances are the perps would have been shot on the spot, and correctly so too! Who wants to waste time and $$$$$ on fools like them? Jail for 50 years at $100,000/ yr is $5mn wasted for each perp, abject stupidity! Such money could be used to educate poor peeps that could make something of themselves.

The basis of this problem is a lack of education on all sides and the quick assumption that it has to be racism. Is it true that black youth tend to use guns more on each other and at Police than other racial groups? Or is the incidence of such the same for various racial groups? When I light an inanimate fire, commencing first at the know business of a white man, in a street where a few of the rest of the businesses in that block are how is the fire inanimus as it is, going to determine that it is not supposed to destroy a Black Man’s business?

Burning black or white owned businesses proves nothing. They did that in Compton in LA 1990 after the Rodney King verdict and 58 people lost their lives TOTALLY needlessly. Please enlighten as to how that changed anything. Lots of black businesses were burnt then too, I clearly remember a big black guy screaming about how his business was burnt.
The question of mainly white Police in Ferguson is supposedly simple ie the black guys prefer to be Police in St Louis or State where the pay is higher. Was not a senior black Policemen a head honcho at the State Highway Patrol? Capt Ron Johnson! So maybe there is a problem in Ferguson itself although since the town is mainly black why would there be virtually no black cops when the State Police and others in the area have senior black cops?
The composition of the Police Dept is totally different to the business community in Ferguson.
I have no idea whether the majority of the Policemen in Ferguson are racist BUT I do know that a very large black guy of 300 muscular lbs attacked a white officer after committing a robbery and assaulting the store owner/ manager. Mike was lucky not to have been shot right there at the cop car! (and that has nothing whatsoever to do with racism, unless Mike was racist and wanted to injure/ kill a white cop)
The unfolding sequence of events after, does raise questions though the Grand Jury heard a lot of contradictory lies from several people (or maybe just imaginative mis-readings of what happened).
To discuss the burning of businesses in Fergusson in simplistic terms is to do a disservice to that town and others across the USA as far as the sociological issues at play. What we have in the main is a minority group expressing rage.
According to protesters who erupted in violence after a grand jury declined to indict Officer Darren Wilson in the shooting death of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Mo., this was the case of a white policeman shooting an unarmed black teenager with his hands in the air in a community plagued by racial tension.
That’s an account promoted by many in the mainstream media as well. But here are several facts about the case that are harder to find:
Surveillance video showed that shortly before the confrontation, 18-year-old Brown stole cigarillos from a convenience store and shoved a clerk who tried to stop him.
The autopsy report showed that Brown had marijuana in his system when he died.
Officer Wilson, driving to the call of a medical emergency, first encountered Brown walking in the middle of a street and told Brown and his friend to walk on the sidewalk. Brown responded with an expletive.
Wilson chose to confront Brown only after he saw the cigarillos in his hand and recalled the radio report of a robbery at the convenience store.
Wilson said when he tried to open his car door, Brown slammed it back shut, then punched Wilson in the face.
Fearing another punch could knock him out, Wilson drew his gun, he told the grand jury, and Brown grabbed the gun, saying “you are too much of a pussy to shoot me.”
An African-American witness confirmed that Brown and Wilson appeared to be “arm-wrestling” by the car.
Another witness saw Brown leaning through the car’s window and said “some sort of confrontation was taking place.”
After Wilson fired a shot that struck Brown’s hand, Brown fled and Wilson gave chase. Brown suddenly stopped. An unidentified witness told the grand jury that 6-foot-4, 292-pound Brown charged at Wilson with his head down. Wilson said Brown put his hand under the waistband of his pants as he continued toward Wilson. That’s when Wilson fired.
A witness testified that Brown never raised his hands.
Gunpowder found on the wound on Brown’s hand indicated his hand was close to the gun when it fired. According to a report, the hand wound showed foreign matter “consistent with products that are discharged from the barrel of a firearm.”
Judy Melinek, a forensic pathologist who reviewed the autopsy for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, said the gunpowder “supports the fact that this guy is reaching for the gun, if he has particulate matter in the wound.”
Wilson said Brown was physically uncontrollable and “for lack of a better word, crazy.” He said that during the confrontation, he was thinking: “He’s gonna kill me. How do I survive?” Legal experts say police officers typically have wide latitude to use deadly force when they feel their safety is threatened.
