I applaud President Obama for the bold reforms to the nation’s broken immigration system

I applaud President Obama for the bold reforms to the nation’s broken immigration system, albeit temporary. Immigration reform does not only impact our Latino brothers and sisters. Hundreds of thousands of immigrants from the Caribbean, South America and Africa now qualify for relief from the threat of deportation and will become eligible for lawful employment.

Almost all undocumented immigrants from the Caribbean and Guyana enter the United States lawfully but overstayed their visas and thus are out of status. A large percent has children and/or spouses who are either US citizens or permanent residents. Thousands more arrived before their sixteenth birthday but are ineligible for DACA because they are currently above age thirty-one. They have all lived here for a long time – decades in some cases, and are law abiding. America is their home. They deserve a shot at the American dream. Thanks to President’s initiates, they can now emerge from the shadows to pursue that dream, once they pass a criminal background check and pay any back taxes accrued.

This is a historic day for America – A nation of immigrants. Millions of families will remain united and millions of people will without fear begin to contribute to society and the US treasury. Economists forecast that this could boost GDP by over $1 trillion.

Republicans are not only opposing President Obama. They are attacking the relatives of millions of US citizens who vote, as well as millions of US permanent residents who will soon become voters.  When these millions of Americans go to the polls to exercise their franchise, they will remember who stood with them and fought to keep their families united and who fought to tear their families and the nation apart!

  1. Incidentally the only person who is facing charges is the man who took the original video. The police arrested him up a month after the video went viral and charged him with weapons and drug charges but he claims that the charges were trumped up and in retaliation for his role in capturing the incident.

650 entries and counting, so much so that what started as immigration reform have morphed into civil rights abuses.

“be all that you can be in the army” used to be the slogan of the U.S. Army about 8 years ago.

It glorified what every young boy dreams about growing up wielding a machine gun, like Rambo, and killing people.

You need to understand the psyche of us boy/men and the true source of this police brutality problem and our unrealized fantasies and fixations with guns and shooting people

In real wars, unlike Hollywood, people shoot back.

Now imagine if you are a young man who could have all that excitement of having a gun strapped on your hip, able to kill anyone, with impunity, and not have people shoot back at you?

I give you the slogan of the new and improved U S Quasi Army “:Be All You Can Be (without the risk of being shot at) join an American Police force where you can star in a movie of your choice every day and kill a few niggas or whatever gets you off, without any consequences”

Add racist policies, some psychos who pass the enrollment tests and pretend civil rights to that mix and you have yourselves a fvck up of these proportions and this is just the tip of the iceberg

Smart phones and social media are only highlighting what has been happening in Amurica AND BULBADOS AND ACROSS THIS TAINTED EARTH OF OURS for years

Either we niggas and you hunkies, spics, coolies engage in meaningful solutions that we relentlessly commit to without any reservations or this is going to get a lot worse than 2 black panthers “expressing themselves “
