The Government, private sector and unions have signalled their intention to move from the optional injection phase to the mandatory. They seem convinced that the injections can only benefit Barbadians, and do not understand why many Barbadians are hesitant.

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated persons deserve an honest evidence-based discussion of COVID-19. To facilitate that discussion, the facts that are publicly known to-date are outlined in this article.

SARS-CoV PANDEMIC

In 2002, there was a pandemic called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in China. It was caused by the SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV).

In 2004, the US and Chinese Governments funded research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China, where they identified bats as the source of the SARS coronavirus [1].

CREATING VIRUSES

In 2005, US researchers developed a method of creating a new SARS coronavirus from parts of other viruses. Their method made it impossible to know whether the new virus was developed in a lab or naturally [2]. The method was called “no-see-um”.

In 2007, the Governments of China, Australia and Europe funded research at WIV where new viruses were assembled, by using parts of the SARS-CoV virus. Their new virus was able to infect human cells [3].

CREATING DANGEROUS VIRUSES

In 2015, the US and Chinese governments funded research, where US researchers (who developed the “no-see-um” method) genetically modified virus samples from China. These new viruses efficiently replicated in the human respiratory system, and were resistant to antibodies and vaccines [4].

In 2016, Chinese and US governments funded research at WIV. They developed a method of genetically modifying the virus created by US researchers in 2015. They developed multiple versions of this dangerous coronavirus [5].

CREATING DEADLY VIRUSES

In 2017, Chinese researchers at WIV were developing new coronaviruses using the “no-see-um” method [6]. They also developed different coronaviruses that could better infect, and efficiently replicate in humans [7].

In 2018, the Government of China funded research at the WIV that included replicating and modifying some of the most deadly viruses known to man, including Ebola, and Marburg [8]. This unpublished work was ongoing at the lab during the COVID-19 outbreak.

LAB SECURITY

The purpose of all of this research appears to have been well-intentioned. Researchers assumed that the next pandemic would come from a variant of the bat virus. Therefore, they were trying to develop a variant that could easily infect, and rapidly replicate in humans, so that a vaccine could be developed for it.

The problem is that genetically developing deadly viruses should be done at the highest security level, to prevent their escape. Level 4 provides the highest level of laboratory security. For comparison, the security level in a dentist’s office is Level 2.

The Chinese were developing dangerous viruses in Level 2 conditions [3]. Chernobyl should have taught the world that international level disasters can happen, when people deliberately do not adhere to safety standards specifically designed to prevent such disasters.

THE GAMES

On 12 September 2019, the Wuhan Institute of Virology removed its public database of over 22,000 entries from the Internet. Between 18 to 27 October 2019, China hosted the once-in-four-years Military World Games. It was attended by 9,308 military persons from 109 countries. Barbados sent two persons and won one bronze medal [9]. The host city was Wuhan.

Visiting athletes reported having their temperature checked at the airport [10]. Many visiting athletes became sick with COVID-19 like symptoms in Wuhan, and/or soon after they left [11]. Some countries have confirmed that COVID-19 was present in their countries in November 2019 [12].

THE DESTRUCTION

On 1 January 2020, Chinese labs were ordered to destroy their virus samples. Two days later, Chinese institutions were ordered not to publish any information on the virus, and to destroy all virus samples or give them to authorised Government agencies [13].

ANALYSING THE EVIDENCE

The evidence points to an accidental leak of different genetically modified viruses from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, before the military games. It was then spread throughout the world by the soldier athletes, when they completed their deployments. This may explain the relatively rapid global spread, and the diverse (now 15) variants.

The latest research suggests that a variant like MERS (with a one-in-three fatality rate) is a realistic possibility. The possibility that a new variant would evade current vaccines, and become difficult to revaccinate against, is almost certain [14].

WHY THE HESITANCY?

Why is there such hesitancy in discussing the possibility that COVID-19 was created in a lab?

The mountain of credible publicly available scientific evidence, suggests that COVID-19 was created in a lab. There is no similar evidence that it developed naturally. Why are those on the side of the overwhelming supporting evidence labelled conspiracy theorists?

VACCINE DEVELOPMENT ASSUMPTION

The development of the COVID-19 vaccines is founded on the unverified, and likely false assumption that COVID-19 developed naturally. Why is there hesitancy in critically examining the vaccines, given that the foundation on which they were developed is questionable?

Barbadians are not anti-vax. Barbadians normally take vaccinations to protect themselves against natural diseases. If COVID-19 is not a naturally occurring virus, Barbadians are justified in being hesitant. That hesitancy can be addressed with an honest evidence-based discussion – or by force.

  1. Apart from the 575 cases Dominica has, it is essentially free of COVID!!!

Once they can keep that 575 under quarantine for the requisite number of days the virus will die inside of them.

Zero cases means the reservoir has been emptied of the Virus.

Two ways for Dominica to lose its COVID free status.

One, it gets out from the 575 quarantined

    Two, someone brings it in.

    So, watch and learn!!

  2. As of June 15th, Covid19 cases in Canadian health care workers stood at 94, 873 people, up from 65,920 on January 15th, the Canadian Institute for Health Information says. Forty-three of these health care workers have died.

  3. @John August 18, 2021 3:05 PM “Apart from the 575 cases Dominica has, it is essentially free of COVID!!!”

What do you mean by “essentially free of COVID?

Less we forget 2 years ago the whole world was free of COVID, now 210,299,469 people have been infected by COVID and 4,409,538 have died, so what do you mean by regarding 575 cases as virtually nothing. If a single initial case has infected hundreds of millions, and killed more than 4 million I THINK that 575 cases has the capacity to also infect hundreds of millions and kill a few more million.

  4. Cuhdear BajanAugust 19, 2021 7:38 AM

What do you mean by “essentially free of COVID?

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Still zero new cases in Dominica some days later, chances are in a few days the active cases will have recovered.

Dominica may probably become entirely free of COVID.

It will have to be imported and even if it is, waterborne spread which appears to be the main vector, hopefully will have been eradicated.

Dominica is potentially a poster child!!

Well I know that 575 cases under quarantine are unlikely to spread COVID so rest easy.

  12. Another one of your “scientific and scholarly” theories bites the dust!

And by the way, the smallpox vaccine was 95 % effective not 100%. The cowpox virus was similar enough to confer immunity in 95% of the cases.

Seems like breakthrough infections are quite normal. I thought we had established that.

How many folks in Barbados do you know who have contracted small pox?

According to you 5% of the population should have it.

  15. So why doesn’t 5% of the Bajan population have it?

Why doesn’t even 1 person in Barbados have it?

See if you can figure it out!!

You are allowed to watch what is happening in Dominica to help you answer in a single, short sentence!!

  16. Donna: And by the way, the smallpox vaccine was 95 % effective not 100%.

🐇:According to you 5% of the population should have it.

That is a gross misunderstanding 🐇 of what was stated. Here is an example

That is as if I say.. there’s a cure for athlete’s foot, and then you ask ‘why do some people still have athlete’s foot?’

A cure may be 95% effective but that doesn’t mean you will have 5%running around with the disease. There may be newer treatments that can be used.

  20. Enquiring minds want to know.

Have our 30 Bajan MP’s been vaccinated against Covid19? And if not why not?

Have all of our Cabinet members been vaccinated against Covid19? And if not is auntie going to do like Ford and fire somebody?

    I think that she should.

  21. Washington State Sets Highest Bar Yet for School Vaccine Mandates

Teachers and staff of all schools must get vaccinated by Oct. 18 or face possible dismissal, with few exceptions. All teachers and school personnel in Washington State — including coaches, bus drivers and volunteers — will need to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment, under a new policy announced by Gov. Jay Inslee on Wednesday. The requirement applies to staff regardless of the type of school in which they work: public, charter or private.
    Source: New York Times

  22. Grasshopper

    The explanation is simpler.

There are no cases of small pox in Barbados to spread!!!

Therefore it is impossible to find 5% of the population or any % of the population running around with small pox.

The point Dominica may be about to make to the world is that it has become entirely COVID free.

It is still some days off and will occur when the 378 active cases have resolved, one way or the other and there are no new cases.

However unless it adopts the policy of Samoa and Vanuatu to which there is no travel, it can be re-infected.

But since it’s public water supply is isolated from sewage, the chances of it spreading will be minimal as it has been prior to this spike.

It should ban any bathing at Titou Gorge!!

STILL NO NEW CASES IN DOMINICA UP TILL NOW.

So we wait and watch as the time will approach when all 378 active cases resolve themselves.

  23. Also explains why there is no Ebola here either.

  24. Silly Wabbit has such big ears but has not heard of HERD IMMUNITY????

GO LOOK IT UP! THE MATHEMATICS IS SOUND! REDUCED OPPORTUNITY FOR TRANSMISSION. The probability of the infected to come into contact with a vulnerable person is close to zero.

    Eventually the virus dies out.

You are having trouble understanding simple things?????

  25. If and when Dominica becomes COVID free, it will have done it without “vaccinations” (<30% “vaccinated”) and the old fashioned way, using common sense.

  26. DonnaAugust 19, 2021 8:28 PM

Silly Wabbit has such big ears but has not heard of HERD IMMUNITY????

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

So what you are saying is that there is no EBOLA here because we have herd immunity.

    My explanation is simpler.

It isn’t present to spread in the first place.

  27. Watch Dominica and use whatever sense you have in your head.

    Grenada is good too!!

Will explain that in time to come.

  28. For John

“The last naturally occurring case [of small pox] was diagnosed in October 1977, and the World Health Organization (WHO) certified the global eradication of the disease in 1980. The risk of death after contracting the disease was about 30%, with higher rates among babies.”
    Wikipedia

So whoever had it pre-1980 has either died or recovered. Nobody remains infections with small pox for 41 years. You either recover, or you die.And “yes” about 30% of those who had it died. And a higher % among infants.

  29. It was gone from Barbados for months without vaccinations.

    Steupse!

  30. If you Google Grenada water supply here’s what you find.

“About 52 percent of the population receives private water service, 23 percent uses public standpipes, and 23 percent use rain water catchments, private springs, streams or ponds. Presently there are 29 water supply facilities in the country.”

Grenada has had 0ne single death and it was on 4th January 2021!!!

    Eight months ago!!

It has had 196 cases to date, 2 new ones today.

It has actually done better than Dominica.

Each person in Grenada consumes about 35 gallons of water per day.

    We consume 4-5 times that!!

    https://nawasa.gd/

  31. Ebola???? Nobody brought it here, that’s all! Not many travellers from the affected areas

Enough of the silly wabbit holes!

  32. The problem is clearly water.

  33. Cuhdear BajanAugust 19, 2021 8:39 PM

    For John

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    You see Grasshopper.

You are looking for too complicated an explanation.

If you lock down the population and the BWA sends the virus to their homes, somebody is going to be infected once it exists in the island.

It may turn out that say the Golden Ridge Area has no one with the infection so it isn’t possible for the Castle Grant Reservoir to spread it.

Even if there were infections in the Golden Ridge Area, it would boil down to whether someone ingested water that had the virus in it and that is a matter of luck and chance.

…. and if folk were boiling their water, then there would be no chance of being infected.

  34. “Vaccinations” are too complicated to be a solution.

    The solution is simpler.

  35. All we know for sure is that masks, social distancing and lockdowns do not work!!!

That is consistent with waterborne spread.

  36. In fact, you expect lockdowns to increase the spread!!

The hosts are all sitting ducks.

  37. JohnAugust 19, 2021 8:48 PM

If you Google Grenada water supply here’s what you find.

“About 52 percent of the population receives private water service, 23 percent uses public standpipes, and 23 percent use rain water catchments, private springs, streams or ponds. Presently there are 29 water supply facilities in the country.”

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If this is correct it tells me that the water supply is very diverse.

It is difficult for many people to be affected by contamination.

Imagine the case of say a New York which is going to have large areas supplied from one source.

One slip up and hundreds of thousands may be affected.

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_water_supply_system

“A combination of aqueducts, reservoirs, and tunnels supply fresh water to New York City. With three major water systems (Croton, Catskill, and Delaware) stretching up to 125 miles (201 km) away from the city, its water supply system is one of the most extensive municipal water systems in the world.”

New York’s water treatment process is simpler than most other American cities. This largely reflects how well-protected its watersheds are. The city has sought to restrict development surrounding them. One of its largest watershed protection programs is the Land Acquisition Program, under which the New York City Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has purchased or protected, through conservation easement, over 130,000 acres (53,000 ha) since 1997.[1] With all the care given, the city’s water supply system is exempted from filtration requirements by both the federal and the state government, saving more than “$10 billion to build a massive filtration plant, and at least another $100 million annually on its operation”.[2] Moreover, the special topography the waterways run on allows 95% of the system’s water to be supplied by gravity. The percentage of pumped water does change when the water level in the reservoirs is out of the normal range.”

It just sounds like it is an accident waiting to happen.

If you add the possibility of hacking of the control systems as happened in Florida it is easy to envisage how one or more areas could be compromised.

    The problem is clearly water.

@John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt…Using your “outstanding” insight why no other disease have been found in the drinking water supply? Not even the known water borne diseases e.g. cholera. What is so unique about the Sars-COV2 virus that it survives in treated water (or any water) for long periods.

  39. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/7663076/

    Also, Google waterborne viral illnesses.

  40. “Since population growth and scarcity of water in many parts of the world makes recycling of waste water necessary, the eradication campaign of the WHO must consider the possibility that strains of vaccine virus excreted by vaccinees will be reproduced forever.”

  41. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4482390/

There are several barriers that prevent viruses in drinking water from being detected. From a technological standpoint, as compared to detecting fecal coliforms, virus propagation requires the use of tissue culture, a system that requires increased time, labor, expertise, and expensive equipment [8]. Furthermore, several of these viruses cannot be grown easily (adenovirus serotypes 40 and 41) or at all (human norovirus, hepatitis A virus) in cell culture. Consequently, traditional viral growth assays (plaque assays) are either unavailable or too lengthy in time to be practical for water treatment facilities. For example, a 10-day incubation period is required to detect replicating adenoviruses via plaque assays. While ELISA or qPCR-based technologies can be used to rapidly detect viral proteins or genomes, respectively, they do not distinguish infectious versus non-infectious viral particles. Integrated cell culture-PCR (ICC-PCR) reduces time requirements of traditional plaque assays and allows for infectious viruses to replicate in host cells, but it still employs the use of cell culture that is impractical at water treatment utilities [8]. Although there have been advances in concentrating viruses from large volumes of water [16], there has yet to be a rapid way to detect viable viruses.

  42. We either have to accept people will continue to get the virus and we can’t stop it or we need to try something other than curfews. lockdowns, masks and social distancing.

  43. Vaccinations are not stopping it.

  44. Vaccinations preventing people from D….. ?

  45. Forde: Your decision will impact others
    (GP)
Isolation facilities manager Dr Corey Forde is challenging Barbadians to “rethink things, relook at the data [and] listen to what” has been said during the four COVID-19 vaccine and testing town hall meetings.
In an impassioned plea Wednesday night, he said that while the decision to be inoculated against the virus was ultimately up to individuals, he asked they “remember that the decision you make affects every single person around you.
“The decisions you make can impact this country greatly. And I’m asking you to trust me in this particular aspect, trust me in getting your children back to school, trust me on these issues,” he said via Zoom.
Forde, who is the head of the Infection Prevention and Control/ Infectious Diseases Programme at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, was responding to a woman attending the fourth and final town hall meeting at Combermere School, St Michael, who asked him if he could assure parents and caregivers that “our children will not face these horrible effects of the vaccine . . .”.
She also asked: “What percentage of our children have been severely affected or died from COVID-19 because if the percentage is extremely low, why are we going straight to vaccination instead of the healthy eating and lifestyle.”
Forde, who has been at the forefront of the coronavirus pandemic battle, said he could not tell her that she and her child “may not at any point have any adverse effects to any vaccination”, but the evidence shows the Delta variant “has changed things dramatically” and was taking a turn in unvaccinated children and people in their 40s, unlike the start of the pandemic when mostly older people were succumbing.
    Youth at risk
“What you don’t know is that we had a kid at Harrison Point who was intubated. She was about 15 years of age and paediatricians worked hard with her. So, because you’re young it doesn’t mean you can’t get complications. We had a kid who died with post effects, and this is what you have to remember.
“ . . . So, when you say, ‘Hey I’m not sure what complications my kid can get when they get the vaccine’, I will
also tell you the complications that we know for sure when they get COVID-19 . . .
and your kid can die. That is what I want you to understand tonight,” said Forde.
Stating he was not into “fear-mongering”, and that no one was forcing anyone to be vaccinated but rather encouraging them “to make good choices” for their family, he said since the advent of Delta, he and his colleagues in the Caribbean, especially those who worked in intensive care units (ICU), were being called “because people are sick”.
“This is real and if we don’t make the right decisions . . . there are consequences for you. If you want to see your kid get 20 and . . . 40 years old and get married, you have to make those decisions on your own. I’m not here to sway you. I’m just telling you the medical facts and the numbers . . . ,” he said, urging the woman to look at the statistics for The Bahamas and the Caribbean including Jamaica.
He added: “It may be weeks. It may be days. But, if we don’t make the right decision in this country we are going to be in big trouble.”
