The Government, private sector and unions have signalled their intention to move from the optional injection phase to the mandatory. They seem convinced that the injections can only benefit Barbadians, and do not understand why many Barbadians are hesitant.

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated persons deserve an honest evidence-based discussion of COVID-19. To facilitate that discussion, the facts that are publicly known to-date are outlined in this article.

SARS-CoV PANDEMIC

In 2002, there was a pandemic called Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) in China. It was caused by the SARS coronavirus (SARS-CoV).

In 2004, the US and Chinese Governments funded research at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) in China, where they identified bats as the source of the SARS coronavirus [1].

CREATING VIRUSES

In 2005, US researchers developed a method of creating a new SARS coronavirus from parts of other viruses. Their method made it impossible to know whether the new virus was developed in a lab or naturally [2]. The method was called “no-see-um”.

In 2007, the Governments of China, Australia and Europe funded research at WIV where new viruses were assembled, by using parts of the SARS-CoV virus. Their new virus was able to infect human cells [3].

CREATING DANGEROUS VIRUSES

In 2015, the US and Chinese governments funded research, where US researchers (who developed the “no-see-um” method) genetically modified virus samples from China. These new viruses efficiently replicated in the human respiratory system, and were resistant to antibodies and vaccines [4].

In 2016, Chinese and US governments funded research at WIV. They developed a method of genetically modifying the virus created by US researchers in 2015. They developed multiple versions of this dangerous coronavirus [5].

CREATING DEADLY VIRUSES

In 2017, Chinese researchers at WIV were developing new coronaviruses using the “no-see-um” method [6]. They also developed different coronaviruses that could better infect, and efficiently replicate in humans [7].

In 2018, the Government of China funded research at the WIV that included replicating and modifying some of the most deadly viruses known to man, including Ebola, and Marburg [8]. This unpublished work was ongoing at the lab during the COVID-19 outbreak.

LAB SECURITY

The purpose of all of this research appears to have been well-intentioned. Researchers assumed that the next pandemic would come from a variant of the bat virus. Therefore, they were trying to develop a variant that could easily infect, and rapidly replicate in humans, so that a vaccine could be developed for it.

The problem is that genetically developing deadly viruses should be done at the highest security level, to prevent their escape. Level 4 provides the highest level of laboratory security. For comparison, the security level in a dentist’s office is Level 2.

The Chinese were developing dangerous viruses in Level 2 conditions [3]. Chernobyl should have taught the world that international level disasters can happen, when people deliberately do not adhere to safety standards specifically designed to prevent such disasters.

THE GAMES

On 12 September 2019, the Wuhan Institute of Virology removed its public database of over 22,000 entries from the Internet. Between 18 to 27 October 2019, China hosted the once-in-four-years Military World Games. It was attended by 9,308 military persons from 109 countries. Barbados sent two persons and won one bronze medal [9]. The host city was Wuhan.

Visiting athletes reported having their temperature checked at the airport [10]. Many visiting athletes became sick with COVID-19 like symptoms in Wuhan, and/or soon after they left [11]. Some countries have confirmed that COVID-19 was present in their countries in November 2019 [12].

THE DESTRUCTION

On 1 January 2020, Chinese labs were ordered to destroy their virus samples. Two days later, Chinese institutions were ordered not to publish any information on the virus, and to destroy all virus samples or give them to authorised Government agencies [13].

ANALYSING THE EVIDENCE

The evidence points to an accidental leak of different genetically modified viruses from the Wuhan Institute of Virology, before the military games. It was then spread throughout the world by the soldier athletes, when they completed their deployments. This may explain the relatively rapid global spread, and the diverse (now 15) variants.

The latest research suggests that a variant like MERS (with a one-in-three fatality rate) is a realistic possibility. The possibility that a new variant would evade current vaccines, and become difficult to revaccinate against, is almost certain [14].

WHY THE HESITANCY?

Why is there such hesitancy in discussing the possibility that COVID-19 was created in a lab?

The mountain of credible publicly available scientific evidence, suggests that COVID-19 was created in a lab. There is no similar evidence that it developed naturally. Why are those on the side of the overwhelming supporting evidence labelled conspiracy theorists?

VACCINE DEVELOPMENT ASSUMPTION

The development of the COVID-19 vaccines is founded on the unverified, and likely false assumption that COVID-19 developed naturally. Why is there hesitancy in critically examining the vaccines, given that the foundation on which they were developed is questionable?

Barbadians are not anti-vax. Barbadians normally take vaccinations to protect themselves against natural diseases. If COVID-19 is not a naturally occurring virus, Barbadians are justified in being hesitant. That hesitancy can be addressed with an honest evidence-based discussion – or by force.

  1. Something definitely went sideways in Barbados….the neighbor who was prancing around acting like the vaccine was cure and they did not need a mask is wearing one now and acting REAL skittish, that one is in the medical field, so I know for a FACT…..things gone south….

waiting to see how the other one is looking ….from a great big distance..

government can pretend as much as they want, but they should be SUED if people die.

  2. At the end of the day it’s big pharma and the MANUFACTURERS are free from liability…not nuisance governments who like to run around acting like they…”got this”

  3. if masks dont work …vaccines dont work….herd immunity dont.work and people dont work whats the end game.

  4. Lawson…ya can always ask ya boyfriend….but i just saw a video clip out of Trinidad, with a female representative stammering her way through an apology for the 341 deaths attributed to whatever vaccines they were using, she sent her sincere condolences, not sure how that will help now…

something definitely went sideways, we were hearing it for a long time, but had to wait for FRIGHT to kick in so they will come out with the truth…

  5. She said they reviewed the files from June 8th – present preliminary results…re vaccines and mortality….sorry for your loss…

don’t know about yall, but this is totally expected DURING VACCINE TRIALS….bad reactions and death….ask any doctor, what pissed me off is the lay people trying to bully others into taking something that they may show bad reactions to or die….way out of line..

  6. More problems brewing for govt and business

    Where is the legal opinion
    Govt gone in hiding
    Where is the PR machine
Some body said it was in the repair shop needing new wheels

    @Sarge
Interesting call, given the rumour mill says a Federal election will be called on Sunday. The inclusion of the many federally regulated bodies, is an “all in” move by the Feds.

  9. Voters can expect to head to the polls for a federal election on Sept. 20.

  10. We are being led to believe this is a Barbados only conversation.

Led by whom? If you could see the pissy piece of paper generated to show vaccination dates and the relevant info, it is a forgers dream. The world has not a clue what to do. They will do their best, whatever that may be.

  12. ONE: Ontario to mandate vaccines for hospital workers, give booster shots to the vulnerable, and halt further reopening

TWO: Canada to make COVID vaccines mandatory for all federal employees, airline, rail and cruise ship passengers

  13. “The world has not a clue what to do. They will do their best, whatever that may be.”

that’s the bottomline, we have to see it through to its bitter end..if there is any consolation, the people will be fully awake by then and there will be no putting them back to sleep in any dream and fantasy state…that’s the silver lining.

  14. Vaccines are not the problem, the virus which spread globally causing over 4,000,000 deaths and 200,000,000 cases is.
Vaccines help mitigate and may eventually eliminate the dangers of Covid which has been a prevalent issue for 20 months.
Vaccines were developed by countries for their population and Barbados has specific climate, demographics and level of health considerations, which is unique to Caribbean islands.

  15. They just did not have the luxury of time to conduct 5, 10, 15 year trials/studies…so this is it, live human vaccine trials, and hope for the best, if the worse happens, everyone has to live with it.

my issues are with those who contributed to the virus spread from the very early stages and are hiding the truth STILL, they should PAY a very heavy price for what they exposed to the world…and caused millions of apparent never-ending deaths and human suffering, they should NOT get away with hiding behind diplomacy and fake bullshit..

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

You mean every one who was a part of the human vaccine trials will have to live with it.

That looks like two thirds of the human population.

Now, where did I hear or read something about thirds?

  17. Vaccines are equivalent of dead Covid / viruses that strengthens body’s immunity to fight it off by simulating an attack

31% of the world’s population have received one vaccination.

    Should soon pass the 1/3.

Singapore is the most vaccinated country.

    2/3 have been vaccinated.

It was good before the vaccinations but is now showing the number of cases rising.

New Zealand with a relatively low vaccination rate, like Dominica does not show a rise in cases.

Which country has lost the largest number of persons to COVID per million of population?

    Peru.

Almost twice as bad as the next worst country.

It has been hammered yet it implemented the most aggressive lockdown and imposed no travel restrictions from the beginning in keeping with all the expert advice.

Peru is worth a closer look.

I spent a week or so there hiking in the mountains to Macchu Picchu well away from its population centres.

Wonder where the drinking water comes from for its population centres and the infrastructure it possesses?!!

  19. Must be the water.

  20. Developing situation in Dominica.

Dr. Laura Espery(?) Director of Primary Health Services is worth a listen after about 16 minutes.

  21. Seems to be mainly in the Roseau Health District.

This map helps understand where that is.

Roseau: covers St George, St Luke, St Mark, St Paul, the clip above names the housing areas where it is prevalent.

  22. So what are the districts within the Roseau Health District where the virus is predominantly found?

    Stock Farm
    Tarish Pit
    Soufreire
    Point Michel
    Scotts Head
    Bath Estate
    Silver Lake
    Roseau Valley

  25. Indonesia is in the top 10 list of deaths due to COVID.

Before COVID hit in early 2020, this article was written about its handling of wastewater.

    Cities without sewers.

    https://blogs.worldbank.org/eastasiapacific/cities-without-sewers-solving-indonesias-wastewater-crisis-realize-its-urbanization

  26. “The health repercussion of this are immense. Poor quality of groundwater contributes directly to infant mortality (212 per 1000 births compared to 59 per 1000 in other middle-income countries in South East Asia). Indonesia also suffers from a disproportionately high incidence of typhoid for its region and income level, and stunting has become a severe health issue.”

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++

The article I believe, was prophetic.

  27. Talking about “cities without sewers, we know Bridgetown is already sewered and there is a sewage treatment plant.

Here is a request for proposals to sewer specific areas.

The specific areas are instructive if you understand the lay of the land.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS Design Build Services for Sewage Disposal Solutions to Specific Districts
    RFP # BWA-21/06/13-1 BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY, June 13 2021.

One of them is Murphy’s Pasture, adjoining the Sewage Plant.

The Ministry of Public Works is in the process of executing civil works in the area of Murphy’s Pasture just northeast of the Bridgetown Sewage Treatment Plant within the City of Bridgetown, Barbados. This work proposes to alleviate the problems of flooding at Murphy’s Pasture and surrounding areas such as Chapman Lane and Emmerton Lane. Such flooding poses a direct threat not only to property but also to the health of residents as floodwaters almost always contain black water carrying pathogens and grease, which could adversely impact the health of those who encounter the water.

Despite its proximity to the Bridgetown Sewage Treatment Plant (BSTP), this densely housed area is not currently connected to the nearby sewer system but is serviced by wells or pit latrines. Sewer mains are laid within proximity to the area, and as such, it may be possible, if the necessary levels can be attained, to direct wastewater generated from this area into existing sewer mains either by gravity or through the use of a small lift station to the BSTP for treatment.

In addition to 3rd Avenue Chapman Lane, flooding has also been reported within the avenues south of Westbury Road as well as in the lower section of Passage Road with its intersection with Baxters Road. In an effort to avoid similar public health concerns to residents, the design and installation of sewerage infrastructure for approximately seven hundred and fifty (750) houses within the aforementioned areas are deemed necessary.

Evaluation of the additional wastewater flows generated, and the ability of the BSTP to accommodate these additional flows should be discussed with BWA’s Wastewater Division’s Engineers and senior technical staff.

    http://barbadoswaterauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/RFP-for-Sewering-Districts-Projects-June-2021.pdf

  28. The other areas to be sewered are also instructive.

Golden Ridge Village is right next to the pumping station at Sweet Vale.

Development has been allowed to proceed there since the 60’s with no respect for the Zone 1 area around it.

    “Baileys Alley
Bailey’s Alley is an area of approximately 19.5 hectares and comprised of approximately 140 residential
structures immediately surrounding the Golden Ridge Reservoir with the potential to negatively impact
groundwater supplied from the Sweet Vale boreholes. Bailey’s Alley is situated within the Zone A
boundary of the Golden Ridge Reservoir.”

  29. Belle Tenantry
Within the Belle Zone A area, and adjacent to the southern boundary of this Zone A area, is an area of
land (referred to as the Belle Tenantry service area comprised of approximately 5.20 hectares), containing
105 residential structures, and the Belmont Primary School is considered to be an area that could
negatively impact the Belle well water supply quality due to a lack of proper means of disposal of
    wastewater generated in the area.
The service area has developed over the years and can now be classified as a significantly built-up
community, with some properties having fenced boundaries and water closets. Commercial activity was
also observed, with at least one food service establishment/bar being in operation. There is evidence of
the provision of various utilities, including water (numerous PVC schedule 40 pipes or “banjo strings” laid
across the ground surface) and poles erected to facilitate above-ground delivery of electricity to houses.
Additionally, the area has roughly laid out roads that allow for vehicular access to and egress from the
service area. The number of houses constructed within the service area has increased over the years.
Under current investigation is an area within the service area, containing approximately 35 house
structures which is reported to have been a quarry that has since been filled (see figure 3 in appendix).
The Ministry of Energy (MOE) have indicated that they have no records of any registered quarries within
the Belle Tenantry. The MOE, however, noted that within a listing of quarries across the island, an entry
is made under the Belle, Belle Tenantry. As such, the past existence of a quarry within the service area
remains unclear and should be confirmed. Any housing structures built upon any backfilled quarry are
to be excluded from the service area and shall not be included in the sewering plan.

  30. Bellevue Gap
Bellevue Gap is an area south of the Combermere Secondary School, approximately 8.6 hectares in size
and containing around 120 residential structures. There is a concern about inadequate wastewater
treatment in the area, given the existence of pit latrines and the associated public health and
    environmental concerns.

  31. I think we are going to see from now on major $$ invested into the sewering of developments with the potential to impact on our water.

I would imagine in time to come major sewage works will be done to the east of the DeSal Plant.

  41. No widespread vaccine hesitancy

A study of a recent outbreak in Massachusetts, United States, caused by the Delta variant, found that 74 per cent of the positive cases occurred among the fully vaccinated and 79 per cent of them were symptomatic.
The viral load was almost the same in the vaccinated as the unvaccinated with average virus CT values of 21.9 among the vaccinated and 21.5 among the unvaccinated. Based on this study the Centre for Disease Control (CDC) advised that both vaccinated and unvaccinated people can catch and transmit the Delta variant, although the vaccinated shed the virus quicker so remain infectious for a shorter period.
This new finding further debunks the claim by some employers that having vaccinated employees is necessary to create a safe place of work. I have previously challenged this argument on the ground that these same employers have benefited from their unvaccinated workers for the past year and a half with little or no positive cases within the workplace. They also allow these employees to interact with unvaccinated tourists, patrons and suppliers. However, this new finding shows that unvaccinated workers present no greater threat to the safety of the workplace. Vaccinated employees may still cause outbreaks within the workplace resulting in workers being isolated or quarantined at Harrison Point or approved hotels and making the business short-staffed and requiring sanitisation.
    Weekly PCR tests
Employers who insist on weekly PCR tests (which contravenes Section 6 of the Employment Prevention Of Discrimination Act) have no justifiable reason for excluding the vaccinated employees (including themselves) from this requirement. They should also consider whether they are exposing their employees to possible harm. Were these PCR tests intended for frequent use or just occasional use for contract tracing and to enable travel? Has anyone investigated the long-term effects of frequent PCR testing, especially since the swabs contain chemicals and in some instances the invasiveness of the procedure causes nose bleeds? Who will compensate an employee who suffers unexpected adverse effects from submitting to PCR tests at a frequency not originally intended?
I repeat that a vaccinate or test mandate is premature at this stage especially since the numbers do not show widespread vaccine hesitancy.
Dr Arthur Phillips, the senior medical officer of health, said at a town hall meeting last Thursday that 182 000 doses of the vaccine have been administered. Of this number, 82 733 people have been fully vaccinated and 100 760 received their first dose up to the time of writing this article. Given a population size of approximately 287 765 people, this number represents approximately 63 per cent of the population that has received some
form of the vaccine. These numbers suggest that most of the population is favourable towards the vaccine.
The country has had vaccines for only four months since Barbados received its first Covax shipment around April 6, 2021. Despite access being initially limited to the elderly, those with co-morbidities, frontline workers and then those above 40 years, more than 60 per cent of the population has received the vaccine in some form during this short period.
Is it therefore reasonable for any employer or this administration to be considering a vaccine or test mandate at this time when: (a) the vaccines have been available on island for only four months; (b) access to the vaccines was restricted to particular groups for the first three months; and (c) the numbers show that over 60 per cent of the population have voluntarily taken the vaccine?
We are on course to achieving the goal of at least 70 per cent of the population being immunised. With the recent arrival of 70 200 doses of Pfizer vaccine, I suspect there will be an increase in the uptake of the vaccine, rendering any talks about mandating the vaccine moot. So let us not be unnecessarily hasty in usurping individual rights and body autonomy when we are on track to achieving widespread immunisation.
We must also realistically consider whether we will immediately return to “normal” once a high percentage of the population is vaccinated. Countries with high vaccination rates, including Gibraltar, where every adult over 16 years has been inoculated, have still been experiencing a spike in COVID cases.

  42. I think the Dominican Government should not allow anyone past Laudat.

Until they get to the bottom of the recent “outbreak” the Dominican Government should curtail access to Titou Gorge.

It looks like the virus can be spread by water and what happened in Dominica could be similar but on a miniscule scale to what happened in India in April during Kumbh Mela with millions of Hindus taking to the Mother Ganges.

  43. Hopefully there will be no deaths in Dominica.

  44. Thanks GP.

  45. Cases in Dominica have “skyrocketed to 943 in just a few days after taking months to get past the 200 mark.

It is like India when cases went through the roof and surpassed 400K.

  46. In 2016 62,984,828 voted for a dysfunctional corrupt criminal cunt called Trump but lost the popular vote to Hilary who got 65,853,514
In 2020 Biden won with 81,282,916 against Trump’s 74,223,369 and Trump cried out about the Big Lie which nobody really believed.
Dishonest nut jobs like John GP CA Trump both believe it and don’t believe it sometimes at the same time.
Trump has many court cases pending such as tax fraud by Trump Organisation, fraudulent payments to a porn star, fraudulent accounting that misrepresented his fathers’ Fred Trump’s will and his share due, two defamations cases in responses to cases of sexual assault plus loads more.

    It is what it is

  47. M Russelle bases her argument on looking at a vey small portion of the data. It is akin to someone looking through a peephole and attempting to describe the full contents of a room.

    Miss Russelle
    1) What is the population of Massachusetts? How many covid-19 cases? How many died from covid?
    2) How many are vaccinated? Of these, how many became covid-19 cases (breakthrough)? How many died from Covid-19?
    3) Does the breakthrough cases have the same characteristics as the population? To exaggerate greatly and to simplify the argument, if these breakthrough cases are all over 100 years old, then the main plank of your argument is very weak. Please see reference to demographics in the excerpt below.

    https://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/volumes/70/wr/mm7031e2.htm
    The discussion is now provided.
“The findings in this report are subject to at least four limitations. First, data from this report are insufficient to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, including the Delta variant, during this outbreak. As population-level vaccination coverage increases, vaccinated persons are likely to represent a larger proportion of COVID-19 cases. Second, asymptomatic breakthrough infections might be underrepresented because of detection bias. Third, demographics of cases likely reflect those of attendees at the public gatherings, as events were marketed to adult male participants; further study is underway to identify other population characteristics among cases, such as additional demographic characteristics and underlying health conditions including immunocompromising conditions.*** MA DPH, CDC, and affected jurisdictions are collaborating in this response; MA DPH is conducting additional case investigations, obtaining samples for genomic sequencing, and linking case information with laboratory data and vaccination history. Finally, Ct values obtained with SARS-CoV-2 qualitative RT-PCR diagnostic tests might provide a crude correlation to the amount of virus present in a sample and can also be affected by factors other than viral load.††† Although the assay used in this investigation was not validated to provide quantitative results, there was no significant difference between the Ct values of samples collected from breakthrough cases and the other cases. This might mean that the viral load of vaccinated and unvaccinated persons infected with SARS-CoV-2 is also similar. However, microbiological studies are required to confirm these findings.”

Up to 13 Aug 64% of Maine Residents were fully jabbed and 70% had at least one jab.

74% of new COVID cases occurred among the FULLY vaccinated according to the article about 10% more than you would expect if the Fully vaccinated had no protection.

The CMO here in Barbados said that of cases at the St. Lucy facility 25 were vaccinated and 37 were not so I very much doubt claims that 99% of the new cases are among the unvaccinated.

I doubt very much that vaccination/jabbing reduces your chances of contracting COVID or spreading it in any significant way but I would agree that it appears as though you have a better chance of not dying if you do contract it.

Now if medical science would just concentrate on its treatment with existing medicines, maybe the fraternity could get better results at saving folks than the much touted vaccine, and with few of the rumours of side effects.

From experience the Flu shot reduced the intensity of the flu I got and it also reduced the number of times I got it.

I have no reason to doubt the COVID jab will also.

But Ferroll works good for me if I feel like I am getting flu.
