If the late great Gladston Holder were alive he would take the opportunity to remind us that it does not matter who is elected to the White House, it the wealthiest families in the USA where the power is located- the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers et al. That said many will agree party colours aside, Trump’s legacy will be remembered as being one of the most bigoted and divisive.

Let it be no secret this blogmaster cannot wait to see the back of the man. He has disgraced the office of president of the USA and by extension the human race.

    Question for the bright fellas on the blog.

    I don’t recall there being any anti-viagras.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Did you know Viagra was developed for women?

    Turns out it had a different effect on men ….. well …. may be the same, I would not know as I am not a woman!!

  2. Don’t crow yet. It is not foreday morning.

    From CNN: It seems that the Texas AG is a damn jackass:

    Paxton played a key role in President Donald Trump’s fight against expanding mail-in ballots. Now Paxton’s plea to the Court is that Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Georgia must be found to have used the Covid-19 pandemic as an excuse to manipulate outcomes.

    If that argument has merit, he ought to have included his home state in the lawsuit.

    Texas’ Republican Gov. Gregg Abbott extended early voting by a week and expanded the period in which mail-in ballots could be hand-delivered. “Using his emergency authority because of the pandemic,” Glenn Smith, a Texas Democratic political consultant, told me, “our governor accomplished exactly what his attorney general is saying other states did, improperly. Nonsense. None of this harmed the presidential election. It helped turnout.”

    Trump is not giving up on his lies about the election. We can't let him get away with it
    Trump is not giving up on his lies about the election. We can’t let him get away with it
    But apparently, to Paxton, it’s only legal if the rule changes help the GOP win.

    There it is folks. The blatant hypocrisy of the Republicans.

  3. I would not be lining up to take any vaccine COVID because I don’t think it is necessary and I doubt its efficacy.

    The virus mutates.

    I might take it if I see enough people taking it and its side effects are known.

  4. John, yours at 11.58pm. Only smart thing you have said since November 3rd.

    I’m not crowing, just pointing out the obvious.

    But I have a couple of questions.

    What do you understand early voting to be?

    Second.

    What was the deadline the governor set?

  6. If CNN is using a word like hypocrisy it means they are very worried by the probability of a CONTINGENT ELECTION!!!

    Any further damage the psycho does to the world will be dealt with after he’s gone.

  16. Nothing wrong with beating them on the head, David, but I fear their heads are even harder than the force of the facts.

    Look how they can tout Trump’s great handling of a non pandemic for the implementation of Operation Warp Speed and the development of a vaccine for a Democrat Hoax disease, and then casually dismiss it as ineffective because the virus mutates. Then equally casually state that after observing the effect on some “guinea pigs” , they may eventually take this unnecessary “Trump” vaccine for a disease no worse than the flu.

    Pretzel logic. Twisted minds forcing “facts” into a shape that fits a predetermined conclusion.

  22. Critical Analyzer Avatar
    Critical Analyzer

    @David
    Sure, they can refuse but I don’t think they will since it is their duty especially when 17 states thus far are supporting Texas.

    State versus State lawsuits is one of the few things that goes straight to the US Supreme Court to avoid the protracted drawn out mess between states that is happening in the lower courts with all the other cases.

    Trump is also intervening as well so you can expect a ton of evidence to be presented to SCOTUS.

    @David December 9, 2020 7:15 PM

    The aim has always been to get before the Supreme Court with a large enough case. All the other cases are cannon fodder. The only cases the Supreme Court was most likely to take would have been Sidney’s case, Guiliani cases against the individual states grouped together and this sudden constitutional case from Texas.

    All the other cases are to raise public awareness and support to get people to come forward with evidence thy have.

    Failing all this Trump still has a Trump card left he can play if he chooses to.

  25. What matters is the evidence to support.

  26. DavidDecember 9, 2020 6:37 PM

    The question is will the court?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Supreme Court took the case and will consider it.

    If 17 states up in arms, it gets pretty difficult to ignore the breaches of law.

    If those breaches are allowed by Supreme Court, it affects all states and all states are not satisfied to have law changed.

    We’ll see what the Court decides … and when!!.

    D-7 and counting.

    Absolutely fascinating!!

  27. Supreme Court may not need evidence!!!

    It may boil down to the Law and the Constitution.

  28. I am assuming that if the court asked for submissions from the 4 states then it is going to hear arguments. With a brief from 16 other states, I figure I am right.

  29. Did the 4 states breach their own state laws?

    If yes, possibly their elections are illegal!!

    But, we will have to wait and see.

  30. JohnDecember 9, 2020 7:38 PM

    I am assuming that if the court asked for submissions from the 4 states then it is going to hear arguments. With a brief from 16 other states, I figure I am right.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Then again the response could be so devastatingly good that no arguments need to be heard.!!

  31. Critical Analyzer Avatar

    The brilliance of the Texas case is not for the Supreme Court to determine who wins. It is to kick it back to the legislature and force them to properly reassess the fraud claims, take appropriate action to correct the fraudulent voting process and select the rightful electors be they democrat or republican to send to the electoral college since the laws they enacted were breached.

  32. The court recognizes Dec 14 as the end.

  33. DavidDecember 9, 2020 7:51 PM

    The court recognizes Dec 14 as the end.

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Sounds like Rudy and Sydney Powell got the COVID so the court might have to delay if any arguments to be heard requiring them to be fully fit!!

    With Trump seeking to be joined could be they are required counsel.

    Does the court recognise Dec 14 as the end or does the constitution say states with disputes on 14th can’t get their electoral votes counted effectively making Trump the winner?

    Just axing a question!!

    What a hell of a thing if the 14th passes with the court unable to hear arguments due to COVID!!

  34. Just joking about COVID.

    Lawyers don’t get to be sick or beg off, well, except in Barbados!!!

    I heard a QC tell the court here that he knew of a case where in the UK a lawyer discovered while making his argument that his parent had died.

    He told the judge.

    The Judge adjourned for 15 minutes as the judge put it, so the lawyer could grieve!!

    Moral, the litigant takes precedence in a court of law, not the litigator!!!

    I have seen a QC submit a sick certificate to a judge even though he had another QC with him on the case and a junior and both were present!!

    Just really wanted an adjournment.

  36. D-6 and counting.

    D-Day is now 14th December!!

    Court has to rule one way or another by then …. even if it is still cogitating then it’s a ruling!!

    Safe Harbor Day is now long gone.

  37. Gasshopper

    You figured it out yet?

  38. The future of the US now stands in an existential Balance. The Twin Plagues of Covid and GOP intransigence roam the Land. The Supreme Court, now lopsided with Trump or GOP appointees, is all that potentially stands between the US being able to breathe a collective sigh of relief on 20th January or clearly and transparently demonstrating Its commital to anarchy and a rapid devolution to failed statehood. Trump can continue to win against all apparent odds. He will not go lightly.

    But the game is not yet lost. The Supreme court can still save the day for the US, as we know it. But if the portents continue to manifest on their present track, it will be.

  39. ‘D-Day is now 14th December!!’

    Thanks. It was confusing because we did D-3 and D-2 but the reference (D-DAY)was 12/08. Did you get your big win on 12/08 and not tell us?

    Now
    “D-6 and counting. D-Day is now 14th December!!”

    Still confused, as today is 12/10. But you explained it already … With fuzzy mathematics 1+1 may be different from 2.

  40. The first deadline re. getting some idea of where the Supreme Court is heading is its promised decision for today on the Texas’ AG call for an injunction to throw out the votes of 4 or so battleground states. Practically everyone expects that the SC decision will be a no-brainer. It will merely reject hearing the case. Indeed, that is the only sensible decision that it can take. But no one would have thought that the AG’s of over 14 states (as reported on MSNBC last night) would have joined the Texas AG in his seemingly quixotic quest, so another decision, that muddies the water, is still possible.

  41. Somebody like they got it!!

    The 18 states are asking the court to preserve the rights of their voters by removing the voters from the four states which have not followed their own election law.

    18 adults vs 4 children.

    It’s like a student in an exam who uses his/her cell phone to make a call.

    It doesn’t matter if the call was to order pizza.

    He/she gets kicked out of the exam and his/her answers are voided.

    He/she has offended every other student who does follow the rules.

    This way the exam is not besmirched or called into question for the other students.

    We’ll have to wait and see if the court sees it this way or not.

    Trump has nothing to do with this, unless the invigilator lets him into the exam.

  42. John;

    You said above “The 18 states are asking the court to preserve the rights of their voters by removing the voters from the four states which have not followed their own election law.”

    It is totally incredible that a Supreme court, comprised of 9 brainiacs, would not summarily and unanimously throw out the above extremely specious argument. What overweening rights would the voters of the 18 states have over the implicit and explicit rights of the 4 states that could justify a remedy that removed the voting rights of all its eligible voters?

    I expect that the majority of the SC Judges would see the stupid illogic in that argument but what has me worried is that 18 AG’s who would normally be expected to be quite sensible individuals would even think of joining the Texas’ AG’s action. Having done so, It seems to me that the overweening problem here is RACISM, all else is just rationalizations that makes no sense. The AG’s and the SC Judges and the Senate and the Congress are all extremely worried about the ramifications of the census that predicts that whites will become a definite minority race in 2035 and beyond on the current trajectory. That is very scary to the current majority race.

    Joining with Trump might be their only chance to extend that date in the very distant future. That’s why Trump got 73 million votes when he should have got no more than 30 million.

    America is at a crossroads! Everything that we have seen in the America of 2020 can be fully explained by that fact alone. Black people ignore it to their peril. Biden will ot get a second term if he is not strategic in all his actions. Trump will win in 2024 if he continues on his current path even if his lies and inhumanity causes him to lose this year.

  43. Last paragraph above; Should be Biden will NOT get a second term …..

  44. Yup! It is only understandable if it is all about racism. They are scared silly about losing white control.

    That’s all.

  45. @Lyall

    ++++++++++++++++++
    Its easy to jump to that conclusion as a majority of black voters in cities in the four states, Milwaukee; Philadelphia; Detroit and Atlanta voted for Biden and in a sense this lawsuit seeks to invalidate the votes of Black people who voted for Biden (looks like I’m in agreement with you), however one can’t overlook naked self- interest in the actions of the individual AG’s and it is the same condition that is causing congressional Republicans to withhold acknowledgement off Biden’s political victory.

    First Paxton- he is under indictment for securities fraud and the case has been languishing in the court for some time, could it be possible that he is seeking one of the pardons that will be dished out in the near future? As to the other AG’s remember they occupy elected positions and may want to protect themselves from opponents in their party who would use the fact that they didn’t “stand up” for Trump to lure the Trump base to vote against the office holders when future elections roll around; that same sentiment applies to most of the Republicans in Congress who are withholding recognition of Biden’s electoral victory.

    As to the merits of the court case as one pundit puts it- There is no hope and prayer clause in the Constitution.

  46. They are political appointees, all about republicans versus democrats and some ridicule the duopoly in Barbados.

  47. @ John December 10, 2020 12:13 AM “I heard a QC tell the court here that he knew of a case where in the UK a lawyer discovered while making his argument that his parent had died. He told the judge.”

    Why did he tell the judge anyhow? Was he looking for some kind of pity or sympathy?

    Was the judge also his undertaker or his priest?

    Stupssseee!!

  48. Here’s why you should not listen to the media.

    Full of brain dead individuals who mimic one another!!
