Aren’t the words her fan club’s president somewhat appropriate here?

“Do you know what she drinks? How is security at Jenkins? It is a human right abuse not to get her proper treatment.”

  8. NO NO logic flawed

I note you have avoided some larger gatherings….one of the largest early in the calendar year is the Daytona 500 and associated races, the two PGA events held in Fla (third was cancelled) and Bike week which was held in early March.

    Someone just sent me this:

Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Barbados is at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Bridgetown.
    March 29 at 3:25 PM · Bridgetown ·
    #HandInHandWeStand

China Donate Medical Supplies to QEH

A batch of medical supplies donated by the Government of the People’s Republic of China, valuing more than BD$160,000, has arrived in Barbados and been handed over to Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH). The medical supplies, including a ventilator, two infant incubators, two monitors, one electrocardiograph, one cardiac defibrillator and surgical masks, medical goggles, surgical gloves, etc.,are desperately needed for Barbados in the fight against COVID-19 virus.

Major infectious disease is the enemy of all. The COVID-19 outbreak is spreading worldwide, posing enormous threat to life and health and bringing formidable challenge to global public health security. Under the strong leadership of President Xi Jinping, the Chinese people have obtained great success in the war against COVID-19 virus. Just as President Xi Jinping remarked at the recent Extraordinary G20 Leaders’ Summit on COVID-19, “guided by the vision of building a community with a shared future for mankind, China will be more than ready to share its good practices, conduct joint research and development of drugs and vaccines, and provide assistance where we can to countries hit by the growing outbreak.”

At the most difficult moment in its fight against the outbreak, China received firm solidarity and support from Barbados government and people which was reflected in the letter Prime Minister Mia Mottley wrote to President Xi Jinping. Such expressions of friendship will always be remembered and cherished by the Chinese people.

This is a virus that respects no borders, no races. In the time of Barbados government and people are making great efforts to contain the spread of the virus, Chinese government and people will render firm support and do what we can to help Barbados in the fight against COVID-19, including more medical supplies among experience and knowledge sharing in the epidemic prevention and treatment. The Chinese people are standing side by side with the people of Barbados in this crucial moment, and we truly believe that with the great courage, Barbados government and people will defeat the COVID-19 virus soon.

by the time this pandemic has waned, you will have examined so many theories, one of them has to ‘righter’ than others?

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Only one major theory advanced!!

Spread is from close contact at street parades.

Just looked at trying to explain spread from street parades to older folk, suggested it is through their children and grand children.

Been fitting known facts using the data available which no one seems to be doing.

  14. Why are people harassing Mariposa? She is right. Look out for self. To besides, the masks she probably bought are those cheap surgical masks. I am doubtful if pharmacies in Barbados would stock the more expensive N95 masks, which is what front line workers would need. I have three N95 from the Sars crisis, but only one is still sterilized (in its original cellophane wrapper). I don’t use them and instead use the cloth ones I bought years ago in Viet Nam. I use latex gloves for opening doors and pumping gas, etc. I always keep latex gloves in the bathrooms and kitchen and laundry room. This morning I went and got a box of 100 vinyl ones to keep in the car. Only one store in Ottawa had some……Home Hardware. Costco, Shoppers, Jean Coutu, etc., all sold out.
My neighbour down the street told me last night he was looking all over for gloves to take to his mother at the Nursing Home as they were running out. I told him about the supply at HH and he went and got a couple boxes for her and some for himself.
I find the latex fits snugly and I use them for chopping onions, hot peppers and cleaning fish and removing chicken fat.
A hospital that does not have medicine will hardly have stocked PPE.
Mariposa girl, keep your supplies. They say you are not smart, but you know what Bajans say: too smart died at one smart door.

Anyhow your main objective is to create negative opinions of the GoB (only when the D’s aint governing) and on that you are at least relentless.

  19. @ peterlawrencethompson March 31, 2020 4:37 PM

Hungary is in the process of abolishing democracy after the parliament has passed a kind of empowerment act that delegates legislation to the government.

Fortunately, we do not need this in Barbados at all, because our Prime Minister is a political genius: since she has made all parliamentarians into ministers or something similar, the government and the legislature are one. Barbados has thus been following the principle of the unity of powers since May 2018. We therefore do not need an empowerment act at all, because we already live in a one-party state without separation of powers. Even the Chinese admire us for this.

  20. To be continued:

I wonder why PLT is here praising the “generosity” of Chinese Communists with medical equipment. The communists, not the Chinese people, are responsible for the unchecked spread of the disease from early November 2019 to January 2020. The epidemic could have easily been contained if they had acted in time. Instead, the Communists had blood samples destroyed in the laboratories.

PLT, hence my question: Are the communists actually paying for the economic damage, the massive loss of taxes and the mass unemployment in Barbados? I do not believe that the international community will simply go back to normal once the epidemic is over.

  25. Hal,

we are the first democracy that can react efficiently like a dictatorship to Corona thanks to a one-party state and unity of power. We don’t even need a formal empowerment law or a major emergency law. Mia Mottley just needs to snap her finger (like Thanos) to make everything work out the way she wants.

Barbadians can relax on a deckchair on the beach, while in Little Britain the corpses pile up in the backyards of hospitals. Little Britain is no longer a role model for us. Once the Grim Reaper has raced through Europe and all the bodies are buried, WHO will praise Barbados and Taiwan as international role models in the fight against Corona.

We should stop constantly criticising the government and Barbadian culture. Aside from low productivity, everything on the island is (nearly) perfect.

Thank you very much for your clarification.

“Hungary is in the process of abolishing democracy…”
    +++++++++++++++
Right wing regimes all over the world are exploiting the public health crisis to consolidate political power in anti-democratic ways. It’s happening in the USA, in Brazil, in Hungary, in Russia… I expect it also in India, Belarus, Italy and France. There should probably be a discussion on BU of the alterations to emergency legislation in Barbados, but I expect it would generate more heat than light.

  29. Earlier I wrote the following

“Does Barbados have any chips to call in with China?” as the surest way that Bim could persuade China to gift it with some medical supplies.

Now I read that the PM wrote a nice letter to President Xi Jinping at the height of the Wuhan outbreak and the island has been rewarded in its time of need.

I leave it to Tron to gush the PM with superlatives.

  37. @ Dr.Lucas Something to Consider…

Mar 20, 2020 – Dr Thomas Cowan – Virus et électrification de la Terre.

The video shows a presentation by Dr. Thomas Cowan, M.D, who claims that, because Africa was not as affected by the coronavirus outbreak at first, there was reason to believe 5G could be the cause of the virus. His argument was, “Africa is not a 5G region.”

5G is a new internet technology launched by mobile companies in 2020. It operates on the same concept as a 4G smartphone but is expected to be faster and more reliable when it comes to internet speeds.

Some people agreed with Cowan’s point in the comments section of the video featuring his presentation. “As they put 60+ more satellites in our sky 4 MONTHS ago, and before CORVID19…. This guy is SPOT ON,” wrote user C K.

Even musician Keri Hilton joined in the conversation. “People have been trying to warn us about 5G for YEARS,” she wrote in a now-deleted tweet captured by HuffPost. “Petitions, organizations, studies…what we’re going thru is the affects [sic] of radiation. 5G launched in CHINA. Nov 1, 2019. People dropped dead.

“It’s an even bigger horror than this virus. I am seeing photos out of the UK where 5G poles have gone up and dogs are dead in the streets as well as burnt trees. I didn’t think that UK would go ahead with this killing field!!!!”

“My paternal grandparents, bless their souls, owned a rum shop and bakery in Nelson Street ”

The so-called Czar apparently made a tour of Bridgetown yesterday, for the first time to see things for himself. He has concluded that the social distancing thing is not working. That the crowds at the supermarkets were too close and that can cause problems. If you go back to my first or second stroll, you will see that I immediately identified the lines at the supermarkets to be cause for concern : “one carrier in the lines would cause havoc. The government needs to take drastic action.” That was since early last week. He has now come to that conclusion. I would not be surprised if there is a 24hr curfew.

    Which state, all states?

This is a rubbish article, a rubbish contribution.

In Wyoming there have so far been ZERO, as in ZERO deaths.

    It has 120 cases.

There are about 30 hospitals in Wyoming.

    Which Hospitals?

Use the data sensibly and you will realise you are being led up a garden path and trying to lead others!!

Must be Washington since there are a couple of mentions of that state.

Washington has had 210 deaths and 4,550 cases.

There are about 100 hospitals in Washington State, which ones?

The writer was probably watching CBS which now admits it was showing footage of an Italian Hospital claiming it was in New York.

  46. The supermarket at which I shop has painted lines both inside and outside of the supermarket at the recommended distance, Only saw one man getting a little too close on the outside..Everybody else was following the lines. The supermarket has erected barriers for all the cashiers and equipped them with disinfectant to wipe down the counter after every customer. One door has been closed and someone sprays your hands with alcohol when you enter. Of course, the staff stood up and made it happen. More power to them!

There is almost nobody walking around in my neighbourhood. The watering holes are closed. The small shops and mini marts are closed and the boys seem not to be gathering under their shed.

Who are these foolish people and where do they live? I am not seeing them my side of the 2 x 3 rock to which some of us, in the minds of some “escapees” are doomed to live. Strange how they tell us how much they care about Barbados and Barbadians but at the drop of a hat resort to insulting ALL OF US by labelling us “Les Miserables”. (Insert accent). But for all their bragging about their wonderful life they don’t come across as happy! And in the meantime Hal is out there worried that the white man will treat the white man first and leave the likes of him to die.

  48. Dont have to prove anything to blog master a wise decision was made on my part
    Simple done
But this i will tell u they were not purchased in barbados

Btw i bought carbolic soap here at a huge price about 6 of them
    Yeap was getting myself prepared
I guess govt can use that ( carbolic soap)as a tip unless those are already sold out

Any how it seems that in order to get govt transparent loud noises have to be made
Yes indeed loud noises were made towards govt because of govt lack.of judgement and poor vision by not having medical supplies for the frontline workers
Then just like magic the news broke that China sent barbados a couple thousands masses and gloves
Oh btw would those couple thousand mask and gloves be enough for the pharmacies or they dont count

Fauci reckons there could be upwards of 100K deaths.

As of today, there are 3,860 cases,

In 30 days Fauci predicts there COULD be another 97,000 plus deaths.

The experts also claim the deaths will peak in 2 weeks.

One or more of the experts is crazy given these simple numbers.

Like I said, the experts and the press need to be called to account.

The only person who will is Trump.

Fauci’s neck is out as are the experts.

An amenable Trump has to be extremely worrying for the experts!!

Fauci and the experts I reckon will soon get the runnings if they are smart enough realise they are being set up.

Trump loses nothing in going along for a couple of weeks but I suspect the hammer will soon fall.

If the experts think Trump is too dumb to appreciate the numbers as they are they are going to be in for a big surprise.
