And then again since 2010 86 WTE plants have been built in the USA mostly to combat waste management and produce energy against a backdrop of flawed theories and impositions and lectures and public speeches made by DR conett and environmentalist group who wants to impose their way of thinking while trying to slow , impede and retard technological progress to a crawl
In light of a rejection of garbage incineration as a possibility for Ottawa, which reportedly you expressed at last Thursday’s environment committee and which may well be shared by other councillors and the Mayor, it may be helpful to have a point clarified in regards to the extension of the Plasco agreement deadline coming to a Council vote.
But first, I would like to commend a stand against garbage incineration, and as a resident would like to express my support for the rejection of incineration as a preferred means for disposing of our un-recyclable solid waste.
The key point I would like to convey is that, put plainly and contrary to what I found many persons in our city seem to believe, the “plasma gasification” process IS in fact a form of garbage incineration: the process is based on burning garbage, albeit with some technology applied in the process to try to squeeze out some of the energy that is normally wasted outright in, say, an open pit burning.
Colloquially speaking, plasma is hot, electrically charged gas, and what this process would do is use a continuous electric charge (an “electric arc” -like a giant, constant spark plug) to burn garbage in a contained medium, so the resulting gases -some of which would be electrically charged because of the electric ignition- in turn would: a) heat something directly, and/or b) be ignited further to get some more energy out of that reaction. Put plainly, this would be achieved by containing momentarily the initial emissions of the burned garbage, and getting some of the gases to burn further and use the resulting heat.
The really big problem with it is, as in any form of incineration, the inevitable discharge of very toxic pollutants into the air. Carbon monoxide is among the least problematic: a very wide range of highly toxic pollutants have been identified in the emissions from this process. A system of ‘dampers’ which blow water or steam along a smokestack to try to ‘precipitate’ as much residue as possible to the bottom of a stack cannot be expected to fully control toxic emissions -much would escape, not just as microparticles, but also as gases.
The process in question is more sophisticated than burning in an open pit, but it does boil down to burning garbage -garbage incineration- with very toxic air pollutants resulting from it. And there would also be toxic solid waste resulting from this, though we have not heard much on how that would be handled safely, particularly if its handling is costly and not the focus of a for-profit venture centred on burning garbage for limited, hopeful energy production.

I made a number of statements and defended thePLASMA-GASIFICATION, as opposed to the Incineration and or gasification WTE plant.Then I asked a question: What is to be done with the waste Barbadians generate when there is no more space for a landfill. aI am not looking at this year or next year but five or ten years down the road. Mt. Sinnkeroo was at least thirty or forty feet deep (Probably even deeper) when it opened. There have been all sorts of problems with it; fires odour generation, injunctions against it, court awards, etc. It has reached a height where it can go no further up; and in the meantime there is garbage rotting underneath generating methane and other things. ( A potential kick-em Jenny) Do you think?
My question was/is:
What is the alternative if the PLASMA-Gasification process is rejected. This is a serious question, requires Serious thought and consideration, and requires an urgent action.
I suspect that there are other interests who would like to see the government plans derailed, so that they can introduce a waste to energy alternative (gasification) and then later, when this fails as it surely will, come back to the PLASMA_Gasification which will cost even more a few years down the line.

The reluntance and objections came in lieu of the revealations presented by Cahill which bloister the fact that environmental concern by those who opposed the plant had no substantive evidence supportive of their concern in spite of the fact that WTE plants have been granted permission by the EPA

Is there a difference between a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) involving a Government and a private company, and one which is made between two private companies.
I always believed that Government spending of Taxpayers money MUST be “Transparent” unless it is a matter of Nation Security.

What difference does it make whether or not the spending of taxpayers monies are transparent, if it is spent unwisely and the taxpayers have no immediate recourse, but to exercise the vote to address existing conditions the following election?
The fact that it is felt that there is need for an NDA, implies ergo facto, that the parties to the agreement believe that there is something in the agreement that the public will not accept and that transparency has to be avoided at all costs.

Is it not standard for private companies to operate behind an NDA to protect competitive positions.
There are some things in life that are really just simple and straight-forward; an NDA is today’s business environment is one of those things.
Strip away all the intrigue and matters of corruption and an NDA is used simply to protect proprietary information or business details a company seeks to withhold from competitors.
Obviously even within the requirements of an NDA details of public contracts will still be noted in Estimate calculations or other details discussed by Parliamentarians.
They details on pricing and other key facts on the operations of the project are impossible to seal under nebulous NDA concerns. So let’s not get carried away.
The government officials are as complicit as CAHILL in seemingly tying up factoids under this NDA nonsense as they can certainly arrange to reveal any and all data not related to proprietary or competitive details if they so desired.

The most crucial game changer that encountered violent widespread push back was the abolition of slavery. Think on these things as the unions stay on course to wreck the economy. Someone designated by the government should be reviewing every calculation , specification ,purchase order drawings code reviews,hazop hazid, design basis
Process description, and the hundreds of other documents required to design and build this thing

Cahill Energy is NOT an engineering company. Reading on the particulars of the company and Ms. Cahil, and Cahill Engineering. Cahil Energy is a facilitating company; whose purpose seems to the to gather the per cons or companies who would be interested in funding the project. Cahill engineering is (would be) the engineering company BUILDING the plant. People seem to be mixing up the two companies. Companies seeking to interest venture capitalists exist all over the world and they are reputable companies. Why should people refer to the person as “this crazy person”; what makes her “crazy”?
