Good Gracious Mr. Jones, Helmets and Vests If I Protest? Barbadians were taken on an excursion that was quite unlike Mia Mottley’s in Swan Street or Harry Husbands at several private schools over the past fortnight.

MP Jones was judge, jury, and executioner. MP Jones classified, castigated, and determined who were interacting with criminal elements and the actions that were divisive, but he failed to speak out against social injustice. MP Jones preferred to inform Barbadians under a veiled threat that the resources of the military would be called upon as a matter of ‘necessity’ since law and order, defined by Jones’ Law would have to be restored. Jones demonstrated a desperation that characterises the despotic regimes that have done more harm to their people far worse than any external forces – listen to Minister Jones.

It was a vain attempt to cut down MP Mottley given her noticeable and appreciated performances thus far since returning to the helm of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP). Since when did things deteriorate or would likely descend into chaos in a modern-day Barbados as to contemplate the dreaded call for the military and paramilitary forces in the restoration of law and order?

  2. If Bajans riot what do you all think the Police and BDF will do?

However it was irresponsible for Jones to shout fire in a theatre.

Barbados needs solutions to an economic crisis. Not idiotic threats to crack eggheads and shoot messengers.

  3. @Onions Hi Cousin Onions!! How ya??

@Akira Girlchile, I was busy as a bee.

No, I am not OSA. But isn’t it passing strange that according to you, OSA said it a few dozen times and you were the only one around to hear it? Or did you hear it from Sinckliar or is it Stinkliar as proven for the umpteenth time on the back page of today’s Nation.
Now since you are the expert on Daggers…Tell us how your ‘sleeping giant’ is doing with his 11…or is it 16, in his back and neck?
Listen Akira. At the rate your government is going your little swill bucket or trough will be empty and given their penchant for eating each other alive You and your two big God given ears will end up in their souse bowl one Saturday coming soon.
Since you like hearing things. Run off to your masters and ask them this question: Why haven’t the tax payers of this country been informed of Erskine Sandiford’s permanent return to Barbados since the 15th of April 2013. If you answer honestly, I have some more for you. Cover those ears now…By the way stop by Jonesy first and have him exorcise those deceitful (since you don’t like liar) DEMons out of you.

Mia Mottley went among her avid fans at the Hotel Association with a rambling confusing plan to raise a $500 mil tourism fund. Her presentation baffled, it was convoluted even constipated. She came across clueless as to the source of 500 mil and how it would be repaid. It was if it was a sudden idea during the appetiser which she scribble down on a napkin.

A few questions for Mottley as she desperately attempts to spread unrest across the land:
    1) What is your position on legalisation of same sex marriage and homosexuality? As a devout Christain its against my core values and morals . Its estimated 95% of the population are opposed. Wickham is not he said so. What about you?
    2) Owen asserts political opportunists and carpetbaggers will not be allowed in St. Peter. Who is he warning ? It cant be Benn and the Dees. That leaves you. Is he addressing you Mia? You do know Owen is not finished with you. Where is Tom’s son in this cesspool of threats and schemes?
    3) The BLP is a deeply fractured institution with members cursing fellow members stink calling them theives even taking them to court. You are powerless to quell rebellion in your own party but you aspire to lead Barbados. How that go look?
    4) A rabble rouser you fired for domestic abuse is back are’nt you afraid he will plot against you? Arthur, Payne and Marshall did it why should he not follow suit?
    5) Have you lost weight?

  9. I think Jones should step down. I got a telephone call from my sister last night from New York, asking me what going on in BIM. She apparently heard de Jones statement online and wanted to know if things in Barbados get so bad. Enough is enough. The PM of Barbados needs to send a message. This thing is already being heard all over de USA and de UK where many Bajans reside.

Man I feel real shame. I can’t tell a lie. I shame. Prime Minister, do de right thing and give Jones he walking papers. Do it for the sake of Barbados and what is left of this country’s integrity.

That is the view of former Prime Minister Owen Arthur, who said yesterday his former Deputy Prime Minister and current Opposition was not accepted by most Barbadians as a future leader.”

Remember that is what Owen Arthur said. He would know.

Based on what “Jonesing” and his crew have planned for any mass demonstration against what is happening in the country we might just witness a replay of the 1937 riots. But this time with tear gas and machine guns not rifles.

Mia might just have to do what poor Sir Grantley had to do and hide, not this time in Mrs. Walcott shop on Collymore Rock but in that cesspool right in George St.

You, Carson, made it clear here on BU that you see absolutely nothing wrong with this DLP government using violence and even mass murder against the people of this fair land just because the want to publicly show dissent.

The DL,P according to you, has been appointed by God and the Bible which most Bajans accept as the word of God allows the government to kill people if they object to any actions by government.
Are we interpreting your correct, CCC?

In any enlightened jurisdiction which lays claim to practising Westminster style Parliamentary democracy Ronald Jones would be forced to resign from the post as Minister of Education.

The PM has no alternative but to remove him either entirely from Cabinet or to some other ministerial portfolio where interaction with the people of both political persuasions is at a minimum.

As a politically convenient palliative because of present numerical cliff hanger in Parliament, he can swap places with Dennis Lowe.
The Ministry of Drainage & Waste Management would be “ideally” suited to this man Jones whose mind and heart are in need of a good cleansing with the same techniques used to unblock the filthy gutters and drains around the island.

We shall see how much of a man of Integrity Mr. Molasses has remained since he is back sleeping on the job.

What have the people of this country done to their God to deserve this government?

  22. @Miller

The political tea leaves do not allow the PM of discipline Jones. In fact it is reminiscent of the E11 matter leading into a general election. This time around the obstacle is the narrow working majority in parliament. The situation has neutered the position of PM and his ability, if he was inclined, to discipline his men.

Carson stop, like a genuine yard bird, “ducking” the question posed to you:
Are you in favour of this DLP administration using violence and even deadly force to put down any demonstration by the people of Barbados to protest the actions or lack thereof in dealing with the problems facing the country?

Do you also believe that such reaction to the people’s concerns by this DLP administration- “vi et armis” style- will be justified because the DLP will be following God’s instructions and orders as required according to the written word in the Bible?

Let us forget about OSA and Mia for the time being. We can come back to them after you have answered the above questions which are raised in light of an earlier post you made.

The Opposition would be naively stupid and would reflect a serious political weakness in its leader should it attend that upcoming talk shop which will just be a waste of time like the many before.
This is especially relevant in light of Tuesday’s outburst by Minister Jones about ‘cracking heads and people losing lives’ should they dare demonstrate against the current DLP administration.

The government has already been advised about what has to be done to stop the economy and by extension the society from going into a state of torpidity and further social dislocation.

Attending such a time-wasting event to dress up for photo ops, to talk bullshit repeated many times before in the various media even on BU, eat, drink, talk and go back home is not something to be recommended.

The Government has already rejected any input from the Opposition. This was made clear in Parliament the highest and most serious discussion place in the land. Why should the Opposition allow itself to be further insulted and humiliated in public by this dangerously incompetent administration?

Thank Heavens, the IMF cavalry is on its way when the foreign exchange runs dangerously low in 10 weeks time!
We will then see real consultation but this time with immediate implementation of the very proposals the government already knows have to be done.

  35. Many of the previous general elections in Barbados dating back to the last 25 years or so there was a average voter turnout of about 66 to 68 percent.I cannot ever recalled a recent general election in Barbados achieving a voter turn out in the middle or high seventies.
Therefore the point David of BU making that about 40 percent of the population is disconnected from politics in Barbados is quite irrelevant. That was the case for the last 25 years or so.A non point.
The comment Ronald Jones made I believe is being taken out of content.
Mia Mottley comment I believe is much more of a concern to me and I think many other Barbadians because her comments are more of a threat to democracy than Ronald Jones unfortunate comments.
We had a general elections a few months ago.If Mia Mottley had any queries about the results, she could have challenged those results through various entities. The results could have been challenged through the judiciary or even through writing to Caribbean & International governments and agencies. No nothing of the sort was done and now that clown is trying to sabotage our democracy by insisting that this government is to be removed by any means necessary.
Mia Mottley and the Barbados Labour Parrty are more of a threat to the stability and safety of Black Barbadians than any comment made by Ronald Jones.

“The comment Ronald Jones made I believe is being taken out of content.”

Since you seem to be the self-appointed spokesperson for Ronald Jones please, Negroman, tell us what is that “content” or context we ordinary Bajans are taking his comment about “cracking heads and killing people” out of?

Whom do you think he was referring to? Who are these people that could possibly receive crack heads and fatal bullets to their hearts? Do you as a real negro believe these people would be the white people and Indians that control the money and wealth in this country? Or do you actually know it would only be ordinary working-class dispossessed blacks whose rights and calls for social improvement you so ardently champion on this blog?

You would be wisely advised to pay special attention to Black Stalin when he said that ‘suffering don’t know any colour or race’ or a message along similar lines.

So Negroman, just for the record, explain to us exactly what Ronald Jones was trying to say? Should this black government have the right to beat up and kill black people if they demonstrate against it, akin to what used to take place in South Africa and still does in Zimbabwe?
It is OK for this government to slaughter your own black brothers and sisters you so fondly and stoutly defend except those who hail from the Independent Republic of St. John?

  45. @ David

    Hi Dave,
My friend, I sit here this morning as full of consternation as, I am sure, many other citizens of this country having heard the remarks of a minister of government claiming that the authorities will call on the armed forces of Barbados to stifle any demonstrations (acts of civil disobedience) against him and his other members of government! So, David, is that what he would have done back in 1991 when I and 30,000 other Bajans marched against the oppression that his DLP party had the people of this country suffering? This is indeed a sad day when a supposed rational thinking leader of our fair country could get up in Parliament and make such statements without any consequences for uttering such rabid cow-dung (BULL SHIT) spewing from his mouth like vomit!

But that is one side of the coin. Now we have the other side here on this blog with people like caDOGan and others ot his persuasion (closet homos?) compounding the filth with their obvious support! Now, David, just suppose that we really had a “demonstration” and the soldiers and police were called upon to put down the “insurrection” (Jones’ words) what would the same Jones and caDOGan think will happen? Do they suppose that those rounds of ammunition would have names wriiten on them for particular folk? Have they ever heard of the term “collateral damage”? Do they not think that some of those rounds would very likely take out some of their own loved and dear ones as well? Or do they think that just by being a rabid follower of the DEMs that the rounds of ammunition would pass them by unharmed? Do they think that after a round is fired that it can diffentiate between friend or foe? Have they never heard of death by “friendly” fire? Don’t let us forget that it is not only the armed forces in Barbados who have access to fire power! Also, he should not forget that the armed forces do not always take the side of the government of the day. So where is Jones hoping to go with his statement of “cracking heads and shooting bullets at people” in Barbados? He and caDOGan could only be what the Trinidadians call a “CACAHOLE”! Not even worth the nice term that Rihanna would say is a “bajan famous word”!

He must have had just “one too many fuh de road” that day!

  46. Is Min Jones fighting for his life or is he firing talk at the person who seems to have the lead say and the main show in the Ministry of Education?
