timebombPrime Minister David Thompson has communicated to Barbadians that there will be a shake-up at the Immigration Department. For too long this agency which is mandated under our laws to protect our borders has been falling short. Barbadians have also been told that there is a sub-committee of cabinet briefed to submit a proposal on how to make our immigration policy more relevant. In our opinion the findings of this committee has become way overdue, more so in an environment currently characterized by a contracting economy with rising unemployment.

Against the foregoing, we are puzzled by the word making the rounds that ex-soldier and former BLP candidate Jeffery Bostic has been identified as the person to head-up an improved Immigration Unit. If Bostic is indeed the man we would have to question his qualifications for the job.

Despite our best effort we have been unable to confirm the accuracy of a Bostic appointment.

The real possibility of a large unemployed immigrant population is now facing Barbados. Although we did not hear the report a BU family member has reported Guyana’s Consul Norman Faria to be already lobbying for the displaced Guyanese workers employed on the Four Seasons project to be absorbed elsewhere in the Barbados workforce. If we understand correctly this would mean government reallocating work permit status. To say that we find this act by Consul Faria to be an insult to Barbadians would be putting it mildly.

It is understood that at a time of crisis the rule which states home drums beat first must be applied, it is not the ideal position to adopt but understandable never the less. In the United States which practices free trade they have attached a Buy American approach. General Motors and other Amercian companies are cutting workforces in overseas markets first.

To further illustrate the point.

Not too long ago Dubai dubbed the City of Gold was prospering and employed a large expatriate workforce to cater to the demand of a booming economy. We wish to emphasize that the ex-pat workforce was recruited under a strict managed immigration policy.

Here is an update on the situation unfolding in Dubai:

Dubai, the so-called City of Gold, is witnessing something unprecedented: expatriate workers are losing their jobs and are being sent home. It is also widely being reported that Dubai has cancelled over 86 percent more residence visas last month, compared to same month last year – (read full report)

Unemployment statistics in Barbados will likely climb to greater than 10% in the near future. Commonsense would suggest that demand for jobs will become a high agenda item for unemployed Barbadians. If the pool of unemployed labour continues to be congested by a large immigrant population (legal and illegal), we are going to have a problem.

Barbados over the years CANNOT be accused of being CARICOM unfriendly, ask the late Harold ‘Bree’ St. John. To be honest we are sick and tired of hearing the academics and others who spout ideology which is divorce from real world situations. Barbados has always absorbed immigrant labour to build our economy, it has never been an issue, it is an issue now. Owen Arthur had an agenda and used and or felt compelled to use Barbados as his guinea pig to test regionalist polices hatched by CARICOM.

Barbados by all reports are starting to see the degradation of our social infrastructure be it health, education, police, transportation etc. Despite the asinine positions held by Clyde Mascoll and Kerri Symmonds i.e. we need to build out the infrastructure to absorb the requirements of a reconfigured workforce to expand the carry capacity of the economy, we question how allowing Tom, Dick and Harry into a 2×3 country illegally is a good way to accomplish that strategy.

To those who will ascribe xenophobic labels to the BU household because of our view to see our comparatively stable and orderly society is maintained, we will wear the label proudly. Despite the challenge of managing our little economy is the turbulence of a global financial crisis our government needs to act now before the immigration time bomb explodes.

  1. I was wondering how long you could go, David, without once again rehashing in a different format the same question.

Are we all agreed that non-nationals without coreect paperwork should be invited, and then forced, to leave?

I think your many previous posts on this very same topic has resulted in the above consensus.

Or do you now want to move the agenda along to legal foreign workers?

Let us all know the answer you are looking for, as it has obviously eluded you so far.

Spit it out David, let’s talk about it.

Over to you and Negrocrat and of course born again christian Scout along with the usual suspects with the same rants.

  2. @ST

We will be as repetitive as we want until the government declares its position on their hinted at immigration policy. It was not too long ago when discussing this matter was banned on the airwaves of Barbados. It will be a flagship issue of BU until we see a stated policy change which addresses the many holes in our immigration policy. Our concern has been clearly stated in our several blogs on the subject. We will not be deterred by your sneer at our effort. We believe that we like others we have a valid concern and we will discuss it until we see some action. In Barbados we have a tendency to wait until the rot sets it before we are driven to acting .e.g minibus, dub musin, school dress etc.

BTW did you read Bizzy Williams letter in todays Sun where is questioned the willingness of Barbadians to discuss race?

  3. Yes, I read Bizzy, but what has race got to do with immigration? Oh, I forget. That’s the rant of Negroman and Scout et al, no?

  4. lombe race has lots to do with immigration; Fiji, Mauritas, Guyana, Trinidad what has happened there Elombe?

We need a proper managed migration policy; and thanks David for allowing us the people of Barbados to remind Mr. Thompson about our feelings on this issue!

    Is it true about Bostic?

  5. Elombe you are either stupid or really stupid

  6. David:

How, under our laws, can we have a legal and illegal unemployment problem.

    If illegal …..deport.
If registered to a company who has found it necessary to lay them off….deport.

BTW the corruption with which Bostic was associated with ( the Kensington clean-up campaign ) IMHO precludes him from any govt. position.

  7. It seems that my government is willing toassist the Four Seasons in weathering this economic storm. I don’t know howmuch Barbados can do but whatever it is, there will be a sacrifice to Barbadian taxpayers. If this is the stimulus for job security and continued stability in the Barbados economy, then whatever job is available in Barbados MUST go to a Bajan FIRST and a regional person second. Futuremore, every job being done by an individual who is not Bajan should have a Bajan as his/her understudy to take over when the contract is over. All these illegals in the country MUST be rounded up and deported, we cannot carry that dead weight in this country. I’m sure Barbados with Bajans can weather this economic crisis but if we have to compete for employment in our own little 2×3 with these migrants whether legal or illegal, it will cause friction and friction leads to fire and fire leads to distruction. Barbados can ill-afford that at any stage. Indo- guyanese and chinese are known to destabilise other people’s country.

  8. C-R-A-P ??

    OK let me see

    I reserve CRAPPING ’til later

  9. You must know ST that the reason for the shakeup at the immigration department has also to do with questionable work permits having been issued. In other words we have several immigrants in Barbados with questionable status.

  10. David:
Are you able to inform us when the “shakeup ” at immigration will start.

Are you aware that right now the bureacracry which has been introduced is allowing immigrants- both Caribbean and otherwise- to be in Barbados without any status, other than ‘a letter from the immigration department indicating that they will contact the individual’s employer” Also are you aware that when Bajans contact the department with ‘information on illegals’ they are not being treated seriously. Is this part of the shakeup or is this a continuation of the old. How long must we wait for something tangible to be done. Clearly Mr. Faria has never heard two old bajan adages:
Last in, first out and Home drums beat first. He certainly cannot be serious with respect to his mouthings on the recent layoffs at Four Seasons!!!!!!

  11. What is the BWU’s position on all of this.

You hear trotman agitating for bajan workers first at the crane hotel and four season project?

Seems like everybody mekkin laughin’ sport at we.

  12. Annette

What you are saying is very troubling.

Is it possible to give us some more information on what you said above.

I am worried that since maxine mcclean has ben transferred to foreign affairs that the rats are playing now that the cat is away.

What is arni walters doing as the new immigration minister?

I don’t know, but it seems like we have been set up by thompson on this immigration issue.

If so thompson would be well advised to get his ear close to the ground because he seems to out of touch with the feeling of the man in the street.

  13. So who are you blaming, David?

The bribe-taking officers or their beneficiaries.

Who is before the courts? LOL

We all know instances in every ministry of the power of a berry.

It is we culture, and we like it so.

    @ David,
BTW did you read Bizzy Williams letter in todays Sun where is questioned the willingness of Barbadians to discuss race?
    ………………………………………………………….
That letter was not about discussion. The letter by Bizzy “Blacks looking for Handouts” Williams was revolting and a confirmation of what we already know. Bizzy makes it clear racism is vibrant in Barbados and he is thumbing his nose at blacks. He made billions off the backs of black taxpayers and he is laughing at us as he parties and skips between his white segregationist friends and the docile black majority.

He” married” a black woman and reinforces what we long knew which is his people are extreme racists who despise blacks. My beef is blacks who give Bizzy and his racist cohorts including sibling Cow so much respect. They are super rich because blacks have not freed themselves from mental slavery. Our money made them into tycoons enabling them to laugh at us, curse us and rip us off.

In the letter I can hear Bizzy with he wrinkle up leather face laughing it up at black Barbadians. Hopefully one day his chickens will come home to roost. Hopefully the old Bajan adage sweet life dont last too long will apply to this selfish, arrogant segregationist.

  15. @ST

I’m sure if there were other news outlets for Barbadians who support a pro-enforcement immigration stance to vent there would be less reason for BU to post on the subject ad nauseum, but with all of Barbados’ news sources, including BFP,having a ‘wide open-door’ stance[think Larry Craig, lol] who can blame BU ?

All aspects of immigration are highly emotional, but the problem is NOT BU’s tireless advocacy on the subject, but at an inept Government that doesn’t seem to be getting the message that most nominal Bajan Citizens want the immigration rules enforced since all we have is a system of chaos currently. An amnesty was given sometime ago by the BLP government that was to solve this immigration mess, but it seems to have only increased a higher magnitude amount of illegal immigration to Barbados’ shores.Which is why I support BU on this subject,no matter how many times it maybe brought up.Change doesn’t happen overnight, but with consistency & tireless advocacy it may just be possible.

It is my opinion that the current amount of immigration into Barbados whether legally or illegally will increase substantially due to CSME & the EPA taking affect. The reasons for this are extremely simple.

1.The use of GAIA as a major regional hub throughout the rest of Caricom or the general Caribbean.
2.The expanded visa free access to Europe for Barbados citizens.

Having said that I believe that Barbados WILL not only become an important for legal & illegal immigration but also human trafficking as the border controls become laxed.

  16. I forgot to mention even the U.K is doing the sensible thing in not only seriously going after illegal immigration but also cutting legal highly skilled immigration in half while also making it easier to deport E.U nationals.

    http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/britain-restrict-worker-immigration/story.aspx?guid=%7B2C6ADB1D-A701-48E8-BAFD-B020187564FB%7D&dist=msr_1

” LONDON, Feb 22, 2009 (UPI via COMTEX) — England plans to cut in half the number of highly skilled workers it lets into the country from outside the European Union, Home Secretary Jacqui Smith said.
Smith said the cuts would come from a tightening of entry requirements, The Times of London reported Sunday. British officials also plan to make it easier to deport European Union nationals convicted of sexual, violent and drugs crimes.
Speaking on the BBC, Smith said beginning in April highly skilled migrants will need a master’s degree rather than a bachelor’s degree. She said workers would also have to earn at least $28,583, up from the current $24,295 requirement.
“Migration is important for this country but at a time when we have more people actually looking for work within (Britain), it is also economically right that we are more selective about those who come into the country,” Smith said. “I think, given the current economic situation, it is right for us now to look at that points-based system and to make sure that it is responding to the current economic circumstances.” “

  18. Our source has finally confirmed that former City candidate on the BLP ticket and Prime Minister Thompson’s former Combermerian schoolmate Jeffrey Bostic is earmarked as the new head of the Immigration Unit.

  19. Politricks of inclusion…

    AAAAAAAAAAghhhhhhhhhh

  20. do anyone in Barbados think that we can plant blacks from around the region in Guyana.NO.IF blacks were to start moving to Guyana you would have big protest there in the streets.Remember when blacks were going to that country it was still a colony and the indians could not have stop it.now its a different story.

  21. David & BU
It is nice that you are persistent in your efforts on highlighting this illegal immigration issue.I am happy that at least we have this forum to ventilate our concerns.

The new immigration policy that this present administration has talked about is nothing to really shout about.Information on the new draft indicates that no fundamental and meaningful changes are coming. One aspect of it will not allow non-nationals to gain citizenship.Beside that nothing radical will be in the policy.

David Thompson is an illusionist. He is powerless to effectively carry out any real meaningful operations regarding illegal immigrants in Barbados especially with the Guyanese.I will repeat he had 3 strong effective leaders in the immigration ministry.Maxine McClean as Minister,Shirley Farnum as Chief Immigration Officer & Antoinette Thompson as Permanent Secretary Defence & Security. He was forced to replace 2 of them with the jokers Arnie Walters the weakest minister in his cabinet as minister & Gilbert Greaves the discredited former Chief Immigration Officer as PS Defence & Security and now Jeffrey Bostic is to become the new Chief Immigration Officer replacing Shirley Farnum. He had no other choice because of the pressure he received from his rich Indian financiers in Mrs Ram,Peter Harris,Chatrani,Abeds,Abdul Pandor and the rest of rat catcher/mango sellers Indians & Pakistani.
David Thompson is taking Black Barbadians as asses

The appointment of Jeffrey Bostic as the new Chief Immigration Officer is very interesting indeed. My take on it suggests that the windbag Prime Minister had no choice in the matter.I am concern that Jeffrey Bostic ran in a constituency that the former Billie Miller a well known hater of Black People & an Indian lover will be our new Chief Immigration Officer. The rat catcher Indians in Bridgetown have real influence in Barbados Labour Party branch in the city.As a matter of fact Billie Miller branch secretary was an Indian.I believed that the Indians Barbados had a role in Jeffrey Bostic appointment. He will do their bidding.

We are jumping out of the fire into the fire pan.

This inept, bankrupt, stupid ass government we have in place is making sport at us with this illegal immigration issue.Nothing fundamental will ever be done unless we the people get up and demand action.stop the talk.
Let take matters into our own hands and bring about change by any means necessary.

  22. Negroman

You are so right about billie miller and her love for indians especially that indian member of the s.y.adams clan who was her branch secretary and a co-owner of minibuses with billie.

As inept as the DLP might be the BLP is 500 times worse.

Every time the Blp gains power indian guyanese especially the women come in here by the droves.

Remember 1976 and O’Brien Trotman and later owen arthur and billie miller.

When you hear every member of the BLP – young and old – they all are united in one thing – they want more of these indian guyanese to flood barbados.

Even clyde mascoll a new entrant to the BLP group is also spouting the same nonsense.

This is why we cannot at any cost allow the BLP back in to run this country until we get laws in place to protect our future and the future of our children.

We must be relentless in our pressure on the DLP to get them to do things our way.

  23. “The dupe’s dupes”

The PM has painted himself into a corner. The anti-black foreigner (the Anglo Saxons remain unscathed) sentiment was whipped up to win the election, and now the chickens are coming home to roost. There is no need for a “shake-up”, mix-up or brek-up; impose visa restrictions now. The people want action. They have already been duped with the bogus “blue” herring cheque. If they don’t get satisfaction on immigration, things could get ugly.

    Survivor of the crossing,

Bizzy is right; Holder has lost his mind, and Mrs Bizzy sounds too sweet.

  24. “Inept, bankrupt, stupid ass government” replace a tiefing, lying, big spending gov’ment. Whichin’ is six an’ whichin’ is half dozen…?

    AAAAAAAAAAghhhhhhhhhhh

  25. David
While I’m glad that this matter is being kept on the frontburner, I for the time being is just prepared to read and follow the mood of the BU family and the wider Barbados in particular. While I’m keeping quiet is because the volcano is rumbling and it can erupt at anytime and I am afraid. I heard there is some movement in the underground and I hope when it breaks the police can deal with it. As this crisis deepens the explosion strenghens. It’s just a matter of time. I will say no more, I would just observe, I’M already prepared for whatever happens.

  26. @De Gap

If I’m not mistaken it wouldn’t be possible to implement visa restrictions on Guyana due to it being a Commonwealth country & also CSME which Barbados is a signatory.CSME is a treaty that guarantees its members entrance into each other’s country for 6 months for visits, which also includes Guyana.

This is why it boils down to strictly being an enforcement problem.I have not heard one instance where the immigration department has actually raided businesses in their effort to capture illegal immigrants in Barbados or do stakeouts to ensure to the people that they are a relevant agency.

The problem of illegal immigration will always be in Barbados because where there is no will there is no way.A multi pronged approach to solving this problem is definitely needed.

1-Enforce the immigration laws across the board by fining businesses who hire illegal immigrants. This appears to be a leadership problem not a Department problem. There should also be frequent immigration raids in every Parish. This would be done by expanding the department by at least 50% mainly with enforcement personnel.
2-Opt out of CSME if number 1 doesn’t work.
3-If number 2 doesn’t work,Impose visa restrictions on countries that implicitly contravene our immigration laws.

@Negroman,Are you absolutely positive that non-nationals would no longer be able to get Citizenship. That in of itself would be huge. The reason being is that it is much more difficult to remove people who are Citizens who have committed crimes in Barbados than those who are just permanent residents.

  28. Is it only guyanese with heritage from India who are illegal immigrants to Bim?
Or is it also black guyanese?

  29. “Barbados for Bajans?”

    Jay,
That’s why I said that the PM has boxed himself into a corner. More than a year after his bogus cheque speech, Sir Owen is still waiting to be charged with a speeding ticket. If he doesn’t stem the tide of Guyanese immigrants, Mia’s no confidence vote will be the least of his worries. The DLP mob is well pass “enforcement”. They want all the Caribbean immigrants repatriated. The DLP fanned these sentiments to get elected, so now the PM is going to have to fish or cut bait.

  30. @ Curious

It is not only the Indian GTs that are illegal.

There are Jamaicans, Vincentians, St. Lucians, even persons as far away as Spain!

There are so many, I dont know ……..

  31. Illegal immigration should not be encourage or tolerated. Illegal immigrants from a failed state such as Guyana, where a climate of racial division, and intolerence is now a best demonstrated practice all the way up to the functions of government, should be dealt with swiftly and decisively.

  32. Indo-Guyanese are not the only illegals in Barbados but them are the group we want out of Black Barbados. We do not want the Indo-Guyanese scums in Barbados.I have no problem with the Black Guyanese,Or the Black people from the other Caribbean countries. The Caribbean Blacks could stay in Barbados.

The new immigration policy was hampered by the forced removal of the top 2 in the Ministry of Immigration. As indicated Maxine McClean was forcibly remove as Minister & Antoinette Thompson was similarly removed as PS Defence & Security.
The new immigration policy proposed and prepared under those 2 persons was fairly comprehensively & far reaching. Both Maxine & Antoinette were committed to really addressed and bring about a new immigration policy that would have received the objective desiredThat is control immigration.

The new immigration policy is still not yet finalise and I do not think it will be ready for public discussion for a little while longer. The government is stalling because of the pressures from the business community in Barbados especially the powerful rat catcher/mango seller Indians & Pakistani communities in Barbados who happen to the big financiers of the Democratic Labour Party.David Thompson is trapped and is being dictated by that sector of our community.

This illegal immigration problem will only be effectively handle by the constant agitation and pressure we the Black people of Barbados put on our leaders.
In that regard I am indeed thankful that David & Bu are prepare to use this issue as its flagship issue.

  33. Adrian Hinds,
I too love you hear? You talk my talk everytime man. I am truly infatuated by you. Talk ’bout ‘love is blind’.

Negro man for the umpteeth time you cannot single out a race for deportation. That was Hitler’s policy. Why do you persist in writing putrid rubbish?

You are as bad as the whites Bizzy Williams wrote about who refuse to attend anything where blacks are present. You, Bizzy and Barbados whites are viscious viscious racists. Non racial folk would love to see all of you voluntarily deport yourselves.

  36. Camouflage
That is the way I feel about Indo-Guyanese and you & no one could change my views on those degenerates. If you do not like what I post on this blog DO NOT READ IT

It is people like you that want Black People to be tolerable of other ethnic groups but those groups are not tolerable of Black People. They are many cases some of which were highlighted on this blog on the unfair treatment Blacks received at the hands of the other ethnic groups. There are glaring examples of this in Guyana & Trinidad & Tobago.Fools like you wants Blacks to forget about the harsh treatment we received and are receiving at the hand of the other ethnic groups and people like you will want Blacks to forget about the horrors of slavery. It will not happen.

A large Indo-Guyanese population in Barbados will cause problems for Black people in Barbados. This Negroman wants Barbados to remain Black People country.
    Get out the Indo-Guyanese germs.

  37. Negroman,
You ever notice how Black Bajan academics, HPNPN’s (high-priced non-productive negrocrats) does treat other people ’bout hey, particularly in the Hotel sector?

  38. BAFBFP

Yes I know the anti-blacks,blacks & token blacks like stupid Ralph Taylor the present chairman of Barbados Tourism Authority,Leroy Browne,Operations Director at The Hilton Hotel,Nello Bynoe at Almond, and many more foolish black people who are chefs, restaurant managers ,front office managers and the like. Those blacks take pride in humiliating black workers. The legacy of slavery and the Willie Lynch Theory are well ingrained in many of us Blacks that is why we wolud continue to be the doormat for the other ethnic groups. Many black people do not have any self pride or self worth. Many feel intimidated and insignificant in the company of other ethnic groups especially when in the company of the white murderous Europeans.
Those kind of black people should eliminate

  39. I think it is the other way around david.
Work permits for certain people were being held up.

Read carefully what george hutson said.He could not be clearer.

  40. Negro man, I would not say we are intimidated or feel insignificant by them, for none of them have anything that I want anyway, so why should I associate. I don’t associate and I have been all over the place, in fact when I was growing up and other races came to our house we would just go in our bedrooms and wait until they left, or sometimes my father had to deal with others and when they came to the house all of us would jsut go in our bedrooms, we were not interested in them . I an interested in them, and if you think I running up to them when I go in a room full of them you mistaken. I let them come to me, as I say I don’t associate, and by the way I don’t have the answers to the problem, you are Little England so naturally they want to come and see you if they can’t get to Big England, or America.

  41. Barbados is a small limestone island.
The erosion of the beaches go on for full, and soon the cliffs will fall, too.
Within hundred years,if this ecological catastrophe goes on,the island will be too small for blacks, tourists, mixed, whites, redlegs and illegal indie-people anyway.
You must all swim or paddle away in a hurry or more slowly,
and take refuge on neighbour islands or to the united states.

    “And Bim,
    eventually,
    will go ,
    into the sea..”

You will all be surrenders from “the lost sivilisation and paradice Barbados”.
So instead; be aware of ecological questions, solar damages of the reefs, pollution by the sea and the water,
all them snails, all the cars and all the fat, american crap-food that makes you fat and needy for space.

    Stay tuned, rainbow children!

  42. There is an article in the kaeiteur news that Canada has dropped Guyana from its list to receive aid and might close its embassy there.

Why is this important you ask?

Well firstly Canda did not wait for approval to put plans into action as soon as it realise the corrupt government run by Jagdeo, the conduit that they are for columbian cocaine, and the oppression of the people of african descent in that country.

Would that Barbados and its government had the same cajones as Canada.

We SHOULD NOW EXPECT A GREATER INFLUX OF GUYANESE ESPECIALLY INDIAN GUYANESE TO COME TO BARBADOS ,SINCE THEY WILL BE SEEKING TO GET TO CANADA USING BAJAN PASSPORTS.

Yet david thompson and his cabinet kissing faria ass every time he skin he boxy.

He still considering amnesty for these illegals?

My man Ace got it right – crap longside a crap, crap pon top a crap, crap and more crap.

  43. Wuh wrong wid dese Persauds doah? Is Balwant related to Randy Persaud? Wunnuh remember that joker who came bout here demanding this and demanding that? He get real silent. ha ha ha ha Anyway Persaud loudly proclaimed that the charges against him were instigated by senior government officials because he had publicized a refugee case involving a Guyanese who he had successfully represented in Canada.

    GUYANA IS A FAILED STATE.

  44. We trying Adrain, we trying, right now we hoping that Dr. Armstrong will lead the PNC and become the next leader of Guyana and get rid of this mess. The place in a Bad bad mess, the PPP don’t know anything, they just messing up our country left and right, and then running to Barbados.

  45. GUYANA IS A BLACK COUNTRY THAT THEY WANT TO THIEF

  46. If we see a sudden rash of breaking in to SUVs here in just remember that 2 indian guyanese were caught yesterday at the Bourda market with false keys breaking in to an Suv.

We know that guyana manufactures these false birth certificates and passports faster than you can breathe so don’t be surprised if they try to enter barbados when this is all over.

According to the kaeiteur news these 2 big hardback, indian men had been doing that for a long time and people did not suspect them since they thought these men were the owners of the SUVs.

That is the sort of thieves and prostitutes that we have been seeing coming from guyana recently, especially among those of the indian race.

What a future to look forward to in Barbados.

  47. Another thing to look forward is if the Canadain people close their embassy in Guyana, the American people will follow suit and most likely the Embassy of the United States in Bridgetown will be Embassy of the United States to Barbados and Guyana and the Canadians will follow, so they will have to come to Barbados to get their papers, in fact now some of the paperwork is sent to Barbados as these embassies are frightened to keep their visas and so in Guyana for those documents will be stolen. I stay away from them they all crocked, and if they not crocked they mad. They need to be send to England they brought them to Guyana. Go back home to India via England

  49. Tell me, Adrian, how are black people fighting this so-called “eurocentric bombardment”?

  50. I am a black Guyanese, and although my grandmother and greatgrandmother were Barbadians, I subscribe to the rule that Barbados is for Barbadians. It is u8nfair for anyone to expect a small island like Barbados to accomodate the political consequences of corrupt and intolerant administrations in Nations like Guyana.

One need to examine Fiji, Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago and question why those nations are plagued with similar problems. That is the problem with these discussions. People do not wish to see the ugly truth that seams through the center of each of these societies. Go to Kenya, Ghana or South Africa and you will find communites with similar demographics experiencing the same problems.

Somehow or the other, when attempts are made to examine the question of intolerance, ridiculous and unsubstantiated conclusions are assembled that defy and deny the records of history. The fact is that intolerance and prejudice have always been more prevalent in Groups with cultural and historical belief systems founded on the notion that some people are inferior and others are superior. The fact is that Racial and ethnic prejudice and intolerance did not suddenly appear in the world like a genie. Another fact is that there is no record of such belief systems being nurtured in historic African Societies. Read John J Jackson’s account of how Arab Muslims described their experiences when they first made contact with indigenous Africans.

Yes, there are many black people today who have inculcated the vice of prejudice mostly in reaction to like antipathy from others. We are not proactively prejudiced, we react to prejudice with prejudice. This does not make it right. But what does it say about those who look at us through prism of beliefs that they are superior to us because we are black. Please!!!!!
