qq1sgmosesmoralityThe price of progress has greatly eroded the Christian values that existed in old Barbados. Whether or not parents were Christians or just church-goers, they sent their children to Sunday School. When there was a funeral at the village church, the rum shop/s used to be closed in respect of the dead. Today the rum shop/s order additional drinks to serve their excess expected customers. As a school boy it was compulsory to attend school assembly and prayers at the start of school every morning. There used to be scripture taught in schools and a certified examination at G.C.E.

All this instilled some morals in even the worse children at school. In a progressive Barbados, we have removed a lot of the moral values that this society lived by and, as a people, we now seem to be wandering down an unknown path. Today Christianity is replaced by religious knowledge in schools and there are teachers who are pushing other religions down the throats of some of our brightest brains, hence destabilising the Christian values that once existed in this society.

The various Christian denominations that are in this country have done much damage to the Christian religion. The last survey I heard about some years ago, there were just about one hundred and forty (140) different denominations on this little 166 sq.ml island, which means approx. 2500 churches, yet there are many people who only go near a church door for a wedding, funeral or occasionally at Christmas or Easter. Most sects now seem more interested in making money than “winning souls” for Christ.

Barbados is fast degenerating into a very immoral society and church leaders are very quiet about it. To many, being a Priest, a Reverend, or a Pastor is just another job. Too many of these leaders are proving to be more corrupt than the non-believers.

It is time the genuine Christian Leaders in this country, take the bull by the horns, call a spade a spade and try to put this once Christian nation back to its high standards.

  1. The conversation has raged back and forth about the Pastors, Rev. Priest, their love for money, if they should have money, their abuse of the young men and women in the church.

Through out all of this no one has set the conversation on Christ, the one who gave his life for every living soul on this planet.

They are people as we speak who know the saving power of Jesus Christ, who knows his healing touch.

People who led horrendous lives and have been changed and transformed merely by confessing their sins with their mouths and receiving Jesus Christ in their hearts. Everyone focus on “men” and not on Jesus that is why Christianity is under the attack of being watered down to being just another religion.

Speaking from my experience Christianity is following the instructions and leading of Jesus Christ, towards a complete change from my old way of doing things.

I would venture to say that you bloggers will now tear apart this post to find out whether I give my money, how much I give, if I does get trick, if does get feel up.

Instead ask me how I live for Jesus, ask me when I was sick how got healed without doctor’s assistance.

Many of you on this blog one of these fine days will meet with Christ and it will be a complete change and you will understand what Christianity is about, until then it will be useless to argue with you.

However you should know this, there is an appointed end for the life of man, and we will meet God either as a Saviour or a Judge.

I could be wrong or right in my thinking, but in the end the truth will surface and every man will have to know for himself.

As I have stated before, i rather live a nice Christian life and be disappointed afterwards to find that it was just a farce, than to live a wild indifferent Christless life and be disappointed afterwards to realise that I could have followed the call and be with my Saviour. Living a Christian life is sooooo gratifying that I would want to change it for the world.

  3. Warrior, you’ve nailed it!
