  1. Hants the IPL final appears to be a low scoring affair this year.

  2. F1 Montreal

    1.55 pm Sunday

  3. @ David,

    Lewis wins in Montreal.

Unfortunately Ferrari did not give him any competition today.

Canadian Lance Stroll was 9th. Hope he improves.

  4. Afghanistan and Ireland have been approved as Full Members by the ICC, meaning they have become cricket’s 11th and 12th Test-playing nations. This was signed off on by the ICC Board in London on Thursday, during the ICC’s AGM.

  5. Another master class lap.

Lewis Hamilton will start the 2017 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix from pole position after beating Mercedes team mate Valtteri Bottas by half a second in a frantic end to Saturday’s qualifying session in Baku.

  6. @Hants

That was an awesome final lap under pressure from the clock and having to recover from an average sector 1.

  7. Canada’s Lance Stroll makes history at Azerbaijan Grand Prix

18-year-old becomes youngest F1 rookie to reach the podium

  8. Gatlin wins WC, Bolt 3rd

  9. Maybe Bolt will change his mind about retiring and run again.

  10. @Hants
Don’t think so, stick a fork in him he’s done.

He was a great champion while it lasted, now despite Gatlin it’s the young guns turn, would have loved to see De Grasse in that field.

  11. Bajan Shane Brathwaite makes it to the 110 hurdles final.

  12. Well done Shane Brathwaite . Good luck tomorrow.

  13. He will need some look, his PB does not compare favourably with the others.

  14. @Hants

The county is playing a weak side, three teenagers.

  15. Some things in life are truly important to me. Cricket!

    Test match tomorrow.

1st Test (D/N), West Indies tour of England at Birmingham, Aug 17-21 2017

  16. @Hants

Any bets the WI will lose in 4 days?

” Cricket is a game of glorious uncertainties” Hope (x2) springs eternal. lol

  18. West indies will need stealth bowling and perfect batting to win. Early in the first inningd the bowling had two lucky breaks however England has contained the damage with excellent batting

  19. The West indies off to another piss poor start.

  20. What a glorious cover drive….too bad he was missed. West Indies cricket sucks.

  21. @Hants

You did not take the bet that WI would have been beaten in 3 days. We continue to focus on the players and not the environment. Same can be transposed to our politics.

  22. What a bunch of lost souls .reminds me a political team who was once tagged as lost souls

  23. @ David I did not take the bet because I have no confidence in the team or the WICB.

    The Cameronian strategy is brilliant.

Send your second best team to play test in England. Your best players play T20.

The WICB gets paid the same as if their “stars” were playing and England gets an opportunity to break records.

The WICB get their “cut” from T20.

Everybody gets paid. Nobody gets fired.

  24. What second best team that truly is an understatement . better yet send your worst team.
There was nothing second best about that WIndies team that showed up in England . Absoluetly nothing . poor batting and bowling and a complete lack of unity and confidence was displayed and the best the team had to offer
Without confidence and unity the team would continue to show dismal failure.
The board and team management all should be fired like yesterday
A repeat of this performance is unacceptable.

  25. @Hants

Have you been watching the Big Bash? Even the CPL is being left behind. Our cricketers will only be as good as the system the produces them. All of the other countries compete against have a vibrant professional setup where players are well paid, coached etc.

  26. A good cricketer playing for Sussex is Jofra Archer, a Bajan listed as one of the best talents in English cricket.

  27. @ David,

Archer will likely play for England where he will be able to continue playing county cricket.

You wrote correctly “vibrant professional setup where players are well paid, coached etc.”

  28. Now there is this.

He should on batting and fielding.

“Kraigg Brathwaite has been reported for a suspect bowling action following the first Test against England at Edgbaston.

Brathwaite, the opening batsman who bowls part-time offspin, sent down six overs for six runs in England’s innings. He will now be required to undergo testing within 14 days but is allowed to continue to bowl in international cricket until the results are known.”

  29. “They can’t bat and they can’t bowl”, anyone for a game of rounders?

  30. Geoffrey Boycott, the former England batsman and Test Match Special summariser, has made an “unreserved apology” after suggesting that he’d have a better chance of getting a knighthood if he “blacked up” his face to look like a West Indian cricketer.

  31. @ David,

    Belgian Grand Prix this Sunday.

  32. @ angela Skeete
Without confidence and unity the team would continue to show dismal failure.
The board and team management all should be fired like yesterday
A repeat of this performance is unacceptable.
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Wait angela … you cussing the DLP now too…?

  33. England bowled out for 258.

One innings of good cricket by West Indies.

  34. Bajan ace Darian King saved his best comeback for the biggest moment in Barbadian tennis history, valiantly rallying from a set and a break down to book a historic spot in the main draw of the US Open against fourth seed Alexander Zverev.

    http://www.nationnews.com/nationnews/news/99970/king

  35. Great morning for multi tasking computer / Tv.

Lewis on pole. Equals Schumacher’s record of 68 poles.

Brathwaite and Shai Hope batting like Test batsmen. 143 for 3.

  36. Hope the Team keep the momentum but wont hold my breath at least a view would be seen of those on the team in this series who is willing to work hard

  37. @Hants

    Yes indeed!

They are still at it, 150 partnership and 100 beckons for Kraigg.

  38. Brathwaite 102 and still batting.

    SWEEEEETTTTT!!!

  39. Shai Hope 100 Sweeeeeetttt!!!!

  40. ” Well, what a sensational day for West Indies. They lead by 71, with five wickets still standing, including the brilliant Shai Hope, who is unbeaten on a career-best 147. He and Kraigg Brathwaite (134) added a vast 245 for the fourth wicket, West Indies’ biggest stand in England since their absolute heyday on the Blackwash tour of 1984. It’s been a proper day of Test cricket,”

@David if only they could keep this level of performance and build from it.

    Hope springs eternal .lol

  41. Yes Hants, we need to bat until tea to ram home the advantage.

  42. Give jack hus jacket

W I showed up on the 2nd day of play good performace by kraigg and Hope..Applause

  43. The out pouring and negative backlash resulting from the last match towards the West Indies was well deserving maybe just enough to give the team a wake up call.
Mesages which today has served their purpose.Today the team can pat itself on the back hopefully this match would not be a first and last time peformance as it is usually the case with the WI after a win

  44. @ David,

Great drive and tactics by Lewis today.

“In the pre-podium holding room, Vettel said to Hamilton “that was close” as they watched a replay of their duel, to which Hamilton replied: “I lifted, that’s why you were close.”

    http://www.skysports.com/f1/news/12433/11009100/lewis-hamilton-on-the-trick-that-helped-him-beat-sebastian-vettel

  45. Truthfully it was a hard series for tge West Indies .These youth playing against seasoned titans. Feeling sad today but what can i do.
However did not expect them to put up a brave fight in the 2nd test
If the West Indies can capitalize on what liitle gains yhey have achieved in this 2nd test they can reached great heights
Unity and momentum is as good as a cover drive going all the way out of the ball park.
