A jolly good show. You can see the boys trying to be patient.

  3. @ David,

They flattered to deceive….. beat themselves again.

  4. @Hants

It is a below average side playing against a power house team.

  5. At least we have someone to support. Akela Jones has done remarkably well so far.

She is not likely to medal but she is a great athlete.

  6. Yes Hants, she has done very well. There is a slim chance for a medal. We wish her well.

  7. Canadian TriniBajan running next to Bolt in the 100m final.

    Good luck to Andre Degrasse.

  8. Degrasse gets the bronze. Bolt the gold.

  9. Fantastic race Hants. De Grasse did will to claim bronze.

  10. DeGrasse is the heir apparent signed by Puma to replace Bolt, remarkable achievement for DeGrasse to win a bronze in his first Olympics and for an athlete who has only been running for a few years.

  11. Does anybody know if PM Stuart watched the big race?

    Mia Amor Mottley

Truly what’s next for Bolt? For me it is only one thing –‪#‎UsainBoltTheNextBond007‬

Congratulations and blessings Usain for exploding centuries of dogma!!!

And to Alex De Grasse you wore the flag of Canada but your Bajan and Trinidadian roots are filling our hearts with pride!!!

To all the Caribbean athletes tonight you have us flying high – oh so high!!!

    +++++++++
Freudian slip? He is Andre DeGrasse, perhaps the writer was thinking of his pater Alex.

  13. No love for Kirani James? My Grenadian friends may be disappointed but it took a world record to beat him.

  14. As usual the 100m and Bolt overshadows everything. To be beaten from lane 8 is tough but like you said, it took a WR to do it.

  15. This has to be the biggest surprise of the games.

  16. He trained in the land of wood and water!

Van Niekerk to train with Bolt to boost Rio hopes

  17. @ David,

Should be exciting to watch Lewis tomorrow working his way through the field.

He will have to be at his brilliant best since he is starting last.

  18. @Hants

His goal will be to limit the damage by achieving a podium finish. He will have Alonsa to push him at the back.

There is Twenty/20 this morning as well.

Have you read that the WICB will review the contracts of Holder as Captain and Simmons in the next days? Why don’t they give Holder and Simmons a chance to settle?

  19. @ David,

The WICB is just continuing the pattern of mismanaging West Indies cricket.

That is why some players are focused on playing for their own security in IPL, Big Bash T20.

  20. @Hant

Unfortunately with the demise of Test cricket with the rise of T20 there is a vicious cycle that will be hard to break. Coupled with WICB mismanagement…

  21. @ David,

Excellent swiping by windies openers in Florida.

126 without loss in 9 overs.

    T20 baseball.

  22. @Hants

That is T20 on a good pitch.

There is technique required to hitting those boundaries.

  23. West Indies win. What a match.

  24. Last to 3rd. Great result for Lewis.

  25. Interesting “sport’s” story coming out from The States these last two weeks. It involves a black quarterback who refuses to stand to attention whilst the American anthem – the star and “bangles” is played. He is critical of both the police and the racial inequalities that exists within his home country. His stance has infuriated the police force who have threatened to boycott his home town stadium.

  26. @Exclaimer

You should have also post this link. It should how the establishment is thinking.

  27. I’ve been following this on MSN. Guy is bi-racial.

  28. @Hants

Same BS, just another day. Appears Jason has survived fir now.

  29. It is totally illogical for “management” to publicly reprimand the Captain of a Cricket team.
It is disgusting. My opinion of the WICB is unprintable.

“However, Holder has been reprimanded and given notice that he could be stripped of his position if he continues to underperform, a report in the Trinidad Guardian has suggested.”

  30. @Hants

Another captain who will soon bite the dust. So what is new.

  31. @ David,

Methinks the Black and red clothing was to ephasize a degree of seperation.lol

  32. @Hants

Six more races to go and you know LH will not go down without a fight.

Of course the establishment is behind Nico.

  33. @Hants

    WI 47/7 after 11 overs

  34. @ David,

    Send for Simmons. lol

    100 for 8.

  35. AMAZING POLLARD! DR. GEORGIE WOULD BE IMPRESSED.

    “42.1
CR Brathwaite to Babar Azam, OUT, that is the kind of catches you really don’t plan. This one was drilled down the ground, the flick of the wrists, generated the power. It was destined to sail over wide long-on, but Kieron Pollard, lurking around the ropes, had other ideas. He ran around the ropes and then stretched full-length to his right to use every inch of his height to his advantage. Then plucked his hand out and was airborne as the ball got stuck in. Amazingly, he had the presence of mind to realise he was going over the ropes, and then gently lobbed the ball back, got back into the field of play, settled himself underneath to take the catch. Imagine he completed all of this in a matter of five seconds. Simply outstanding. He’s done this time and again in the IPL, so it doesn’t really come as a surprise. Super stuff.

  36. Future West Indies prospect or will he play fo England?

Now, he is back home in Barbados weighing his options about his international future while waiting on the first call from either England or the West Indies.

  37. @Hants

LH has not been taking advantage of P1 of late.

    >

  38. Agreed but let’s hope he has a good start and reliability with the car.

  39. Just waiting to watch the race.

  40. @Hants

This is meant to be Nico’s year come hell or high water.

Hope you are taking in some of the SA vs AUS? Do you see how scoring 300 plus runs is routine these days?

  41. Lewis said “”I just can’t believe that there’s eight Mercedes cars, and only my engines are the ones that have been going this year. Something just doesn’t feel right, but there’s nothing I can do about it.”

Sometime after making his first comments, Hamilton was in a more reflective mood, and paid tribute to both his fans and his team in a statement posted on social media.

If I was Lewis I would change teams at the end of the season. It might change his luck.

  42. He would have to be released from two more years of his contract. Plus Mercedes have the best engines on F1.

  43. THE POLITICALLY CORRECT STATEMENT BY LEWIS

“Today, the pain is indescribable, but I truly believe God never gives you more than you can handle. I want to say a huge thank you to the fans who stood on their feet in the blazing hot sun, or from their sofas at home, watching and supporting me this weekend. I’m so grateful. I have 100% faith in my team, they have worked so hard both at the track, and factory, and I want to say a HUGE thank you to them. I know we’ve had all these problems but it’s not how we fall, it’s how we get up. It’s not how we are in moments of comfort than define us, but how we are in the face of adversity. We are champions and that’s how we will move forward. I will, we will, NEVER give up!”

  44. @ David,

Lewis on pole. Hope he gets a good start.
