  1. History will judge those who hold “power” yet kept silent for the sake of keeping power.

    May OSA rest in peace.

    If you know, you know.

    Just Observing

  2. When she spoke on the Paradise issue……hand in hand with Chris Sincklar.
    Possibly one blogger, has been barking up the right tree.

  3. If Barbadians, civil establishment were not so timid and intimidated by the prime minister she (Mottley) would have been forced to hesitate before posing in these inappropriate public pictures. One can compare to the urgent debate currently on the way in the UK around the Lord Mandelson/Epstein affair.

  4. “One can compare to the urgent debate currently on the way in the UK around the Lord Mandelson/Epstein affair.”

    You surely mean compare AND contrast? #disinformation

  5. @Enuff

    Of course compare and contrast, do you observe also the protests against efforts to curtail freedom of expression by the establishment? It is one of rbe the reasons whether you like it or not social media can be likened to the genie out of the bottle. Luke it or lump it.

  6. Slightly amused at the two one-star ratings the blogmaster received for his 4:48 a.m. post. The post does not deserve them. It goes to show yardfowls will always peck. The know nothing else.

    The Barbadian hatred of being called a yardfowl is so great that I am certain this post will make one of the yardfowls break from cover and peck here as well. Watch it.

    Cluck! Cluck! Here chicken! Come get your grain

  7. In a mature society – one with a modicum of ETHICAL standards – we will sometimes see resignations on principle.
    However, in a Mafia style society, ‘resignations’ are staged in a cloak of SECRECY – that seeks to conceal the collective underhandedness that tends to be endemic among a NON-TRANSPARENT gang of rogues.

    When internal rebels refuse to toe the line, ESPECIALLY where such individuals may NOT be personally involved in underhanded behaviors, such ‘resignations’ can be arranged via promotions, transfers, intimidation, or worse…

    The ONLY defence for a society – is full TRANSPARENCY.
    However no mafia outfit would willingly subscribe to LEGISLATED integrity / transparency rules.

    Ultimately, it is the BB sheeple that must take full responsibility for their own outcomes.

    What a place!

  8. The0

    You just scored another 0. Or did you just cross over? Are you saying the 448 post deserve 0 star ratings? You have no idea who u are trolling

  9. Sounds like we need a Charlie Kirk here in Bim!

  10. I just watched the video of the two igrunt wrasse whole idiots driving the Ferrari in the Bridgetown Port.

  11. @ Hants

    That is just another example of the piss poor management in the port. I would bet you the persons involved in driving that car will not be fired either. Now if we had cameras in the port this would be a recorded fact. If the idiots had hit this car who would of been responsible? This whole country just does as it dam well likes now, why should port workers not be the same?

    Looking forward to hearing what discipline will be dealt out to the offenders, not holding my breath of course.

  12. @John A

    The fact the idiots unabashedly drove the car in the way captured means that it is not an unaccustomed scenario at the Port.

  13. @ David

    I have no doubt you are right. Let’s wait till they hit one of the English rally cars that come in for the all stage rally and act then. When it’s posted in the UK press how well conrolled our port is, we can all then do damage control.

    All the port had to say was “they apologise” for the incident. Keep the dam apology and tell me ” those involved will be punished by the full extent of the law after being terminated this week.”

  14. @ David

    So here is an interesting piece of information. ADWEEK a company that tracks viewership in the USA media, posted their first quarter finding for 2025 prime time.

    FOX NEWS 3,012,000 VIEWERS
    CNN NEWS 588,000 VIEWERS

    This is the largest swing away from services like CNN and others recorded. Over 5 times more viewers FOX now has than CNN.

    I am not promoting FOX or any other service, but the swing by the USA prime time viewers shows the Americans are tired of the antigovermment mouthing of others. I also notice Sky News out the UK have shifted to a more balanced form of reporting as well.

    Trump does not do everything right for sure, but how can the Democrats oppose the removal of illegal criminals from their own country? I think ALL involved need to find MIDDLE GROUND!

    This is what happens when politics prevails over common sense.

  15. @John A

    It is about crafting messages that resonate in ways to win hearts and minds.

  16. If you watched the Robinson rally in the UK it is clear the English want the brakes put on immigration as well.

    I think we are entering interesting times. I just hope the views of all will be respected whether one supports them or not. They are entitled to their view, you can object to what they say but it does not mean you have to kill them for it though!

    It is good to see the youth being heard and having a facilty to voice their views, whether you like what they say or not. The worry though is the handful of radicals who seem to be devoid of reasoning. Governments world wide must also realise they should not attempt to drown out free speech or those that don’t share their views.

  17. As predicted and expected
    One fowl was outed
    Level of reasoning below common fowl level

  18. The0

    And expected I know you would come with that
    But you should know by now when it come to calling me names I am a duck

    So there u go again with another 0

  19. John A

    You are talking shit, Kirk and Robinson are both nasty white supremacists.
    I will give you the benefit of doubt and just say you are a gullible ignorant fool.

  20. It is truly amazing how time and education has changed nothing. If you switch the races around the same way you and Donna are blinded by race, so were the whites at the time when Martin Luther King was killed. He too rallied for freedom of speech and for all men and women regardless of colour, to be treated equally and given a hearing. Do you know many in Kings movement were white? Regardless of what you and others like you think, both King and Kirk died for the same cause regardless of colour and timing. What is clear is that even after Kings death, little has changed. People are still being killed for what they say and the discussions they encourage.

    The more things change the more they stay the same. Races may change in terms of the victim, decades may also pass, but good old small mindedness and blatant hatred for someones opinion is still with us today. We have learnt nothing from history!

    This is my final comment on this issue so all feel free to carry on smartly.

  21. The moment we become so intolerant of the views of others that we would want to take up arms and shoot them, we have a problem. The blogmaster was not a fan of Charlie’s bigoted views.

  22. There are two blogs dealing with Kirk, be guided.

  23. PM sends strong message to the lawless

    No war ’bout here!

    IF CRIMINALS WANT to wage war in Barbadian communities, they should go to where wars are already raging – overseas.

    Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley gave this warning last night while addressing the St George North Barbados Labour Party branch’s annual general meeting outside the George Brathwaite and St Clair Hall Pavilion, The Glebe.

    “I’m telling you that we have to find a way of making sure that a handful of people who feel that it is their [right] to torment and terrify communities in this country, are invited to go to another country. There are places where war exists, so if war is your business and you like it, I’m sure we can find a way to get you involved in the wars over there, but not in Barbados,” she declared.

    Mottley again called on Barbadians not to remain silent in the face of wrongdoing, even if it meant turning in a family member.

    “It is for us to go into our houses and when we see wrong, call out the wrong. Whatever else you have to say about what happened in the [United] States with Charlie Kirk, it is the father [of the alleged shooter] that tell his son, ‘You carry yourself to the police or I will carry you’, simple as that.

    “We need more of that in this country because we need to [realise] the very person that you think you may be defending, may be the very person that ends up causing the worst problems in your household or in your community,” she said.

    So far this year, Barbados has recorded 35 murders, most of them by the gun, as well as a spate of robberies and other forms of violence.

    The Prime Minister announced that former Democratic Labour Party (DLP) parliamentarian and minister, King’s Counsel Michael Lashley, will now co-chair the Advisory Council on Citizenship Security along with President of the Senate, The Most Honourable Reginald Farley.

    “What we have done, without prejudice, is to have that Advisory Council on Citizenship Security be able to have their input because this is a 20-something-strong body with perspectives from all across the country, and they become a summoning board for policies, programmes and for how you’re doing something, and not necessarily what you’re doing.

    “It is critical that they also be given the opportunity to have a blank piece of paper and to tell us things that the Government itself has not necessarily reflected on, or the police, or the other law enforcement authorities, or civil society,” she said.

    Mottley told party faithful that Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne was making a “fundamental mistake” by refusing to join with them to find solutions to crime. She said they once found common ground with former DLP president Verla De Peiza, and called for this to happen again.

    “We called the Social Partnership and members of the Social Justice Committee that this Government created, which included the churches and the NGOs (non-governmental organisations). We brought them and the Social Partnership together and the then leader of the DLP, Verla De Peiza. We brought everybody together at the Hilton and we agreed on a path forward and we spoke to the country as one on crime. I believe that is where we must go now.

    “I will continue to say to Mr Thorne that I believe you’re making a fundamental mistake to this country and to its people by failing to come to the table and allowing Barbadians to speak with one voice on this issue. I still wish that they would come forward, and I hope that Ms De Peiza, who led their commission on crime, will at least meet with the Advisory Council on Citizenship Security, and I mean that in all sincerity,” Mottley said.

    She also defended the Prime Minister’s Cup football tournament, saying it was bringing communities together, but reiterated that it would come to an end should crime infiltrate it.

    “That’s one of the ones that they want me to cut out too. Let them keep wishing because with the Prime Minister’s Cup, I have seen thousands of young people from across the country and older people come out to the games too and thank God, knock some wood, thus far it has been peaceful. We also said that the day that crime or gunshots are in it, it’s shut down. I would regret it, but rules are rules, and if you know me, I bend on certain things, but there are certain things I shall not bend on, and gunplay is one of them,” she said. (CA)

  24. This comment @bushtea hits the nail on the head, if a person is perceived to not have the moral authority this is a problem. What makes the Barbados situation worse is when expecting the person to exercise a moral duty doesn’t matter.

  25. @J00
    I am not going to spend time counting yard ducks or fowls.

    A stone was thrown … There was a hit… A bird (fowl or duck) howled/cackled/cried out in pain.

    J2, I am no monster. Fear no longer. I will throw no more stones. It is not my desire to injure anyone. Just relax, the pain will go away.

  26. A word…keep it on the economics…. that’s your strength excellent

  27. I am not blinded by race. Charlie Kirk was blinded by race. I am against the white supremacist system. Charlie Kirk was for it. I am not against white people. I do not see all white people as the devil’s spawn. I do not believe that all our problems began with the white man, neither do I believe that all our problems will end when we overcome white supremacy. I am for free speech. I am also for hate speech because I prefer to know what I am dealing with. I am also for good faith debating. It is one of my favourite things, actually.

    Charlie Kirk was no champion of free speech. Charlie Kirk was not a debater in good faith. He used flawed statistics to “prove” his point. His point always seemed to end in one place. Charlie Kirk was a hater of black people. Charlie Kirk was a white supremacist. I saw him stumped by a student on affirmative action.

    “Where has affirmative action been applied except on the basis of race?” he asked.

    “Gender, veterans, rural, disbled…” How could he not know that? How could he be arguing against it without knowing the simple facts?

    “I think it’s silly.”

    “Don’t just tell me it’s silly! Tell me why it’s silly!”

    “Um…um…um… I still don’t agree with it.”

    Paraphrased just a little because I am relying on memory. But I have a good memory.

    And so I say, if black people want to say that we need to protect free speech and promote public debate, there is absolutely no need to bring Charlie Kirk into it as an example of either.

    BUT, the most revealing thing here is the fact that you could accuse me of being “blinded by race” and yet you cannot see that Charlie Kirk, being blinded by race, was of no good use in the public space. That alone tells me all I need to know about you.

    But wait! There is more! You had to be schooled by Artax on the ridiculous rationale behind Trump’s tariffs. You had to be schooled by Pachamama on Trump’s Venezuelan motives. You talked some nonsense about if it could prevent some of the drugs from reaching our shores. Their own agencies report that the drugs are coming from Columbia, Peru and other Andean countries!

    Clearly YOU are blinded by Western narratives. It is YOU who needs to free your mind.

    My own emancipation, though not yet complete, has been in progress since 1968.

    I will engage your ignorance no further. It isn’t worth it.

  28. Exports down, so lewwee export crime?
    Not cease and desist, but go elsewhere, preferably where war already exists.
    Pssst…a lil secret…gang warfare is war, between factions of society, not nations.
    Murdah!

  29. Any observations to Michael Lashley appointed to co-chair of the National Advisory Council on Citizen Security?

  30. David

    “Of course compare and contrast, do you observe also the protests against efforts to curtail freedom of expression by the establishment?”

    Freedom of expression? Inciting people to “set fire to all the fucking hotels full of the bastards” is freedom of expression? Some people really should not speak about issues they don’t understand. The protests you refer to are about one thing–racism. Enoch Powell has become Nigel Farage; BNP became UKIP and is now Reform; and West Indians, Indians and other POC, highly skilled workers from non-white countries and EU citizens are now the asylum seekers. In your quest to maintain a specific narrative you’re now bordering on absurdity and firmly residing in idiocy. The day racism, bigotry and hate etc pass as “freedom of expression” the dog dead. But waaaait aren’t you the same person who wants to ban Jamaican dub artistes for dem lyrics?

  31. On ML, nope. He was already a Council Member.

  32. I have been trying for several years now to find a good reason to pose with gangsters. I tried and I tried. But then I still would not be able to explain their reported presence at the opening of parliament, nor the phone call from the Red Sea. As a politician, I have no problem with engaging with all citizens on the campaign trail. But I cannot satisfactorily explain the rest.

    Lighten my darkness, somebody, I beseech thee! Could be I am just a know-nothingarian.

  33. Reinvest in your Hood

    There is Street Cred to be gained by hanging out with shottas

    21 shot gun salute for Mia
    (or gunners can feel free to blaze away at will)

  34. The appointment of large councils, committees, boards, and task forces has become the go-to tactic of this government.
    Crime
    Housing
    Economic
    etc etc
    NOT ONE HAS PRODUCED GOOD RESULTS

    It is what you do when you have NO CLUE of how to actually FIX problems and ACHIEVE results… but NEED something to talk about.

    The other tactic is to talk about how many more MILLIONS of dollars were (literally) thrown at the issues – than the previous set of disgraced political jokers.
    Of course we ALL know that most of these dollars end up as HOPEless STEAL houses, and as Carifesta ‘friends contracts’ etc…

    As Chair, Lashley may want to appoint an independent review of the ZR licensing activities under his stewardship.
    Our CJ comes with full CLICO qualifications, so Lashley is probably par for the course.

    What a place…

  35. @Bush Tea

    Or address the arrangement he had with Brathwaite when he and his departed colleague leased two luxury vehicles. Too much foolishness in this place.

    #transtech

  36. @Donna
    You have me in stitches.
    No problem with engagement on the “campaign trail”, but after you don’t know them? Shite, you have all the makings of a politician. But good donors and influencers of others will get a pick to the inauguration party. As the ‘guvment’ you represent ALL citizens, whether they voted for you or not.
    I gine send Bushie up to St.Philip, so you pose wid he. Anybody who knows so much about how de Mafia operates, could pass as a gangster 😁

  37. “Too much foolishness in this place.”
    ~~~~~~
    By FAR!!
    That said however, it is a global phenomenon, PARTICULARLY in those places that are earmarked for KARMIC reparations shortly – like the USA and France, for example.
    The Charlie Kirk episode is looking to become a classic example of how the modern mafia / masonic cabal operates to gain and maintain political and economic power over brass bowls, and to achieve the current situation where 90% of everything is owned by 10% of the mafia and their masonic cohorts…while the masses struggle to even eat.
    Candice Owens’ blogs paints an interesting picture of what happens to honest, ambitious young people who start out GENUINELY wanting to be GOOD leaders.
    However once entrapped and captured by the mafia, they are co-opted into the circle of wickedness, only to become EXACTLY like the demons that they had set out to displace. Israel currently represents the worst of the worse in this regard.
    Our own David Thompson comes to mind as a young, talented, right-minded, citizen with excellent intentions, …until the demonic CLICO dollars became too attractive to ignore…
    More currently, there is NO WAY that some of the IDIOTIC policies being pushed by our leaders can be coming from a genuine, patriotic and long term LOVE of this country….
    Perhaps we can now see where they are coming from… and why…
    Our world has entered a new and frightening plase of demonic chaos and misery, and UNLESS armed with the full armor of God, there is VERY little hope for any of us….
    What a time to be around.
  38. Lashley putting country first
    FORMER DEMOCRATIC LABOUR PARTY (DLP) Government minister Michael Lashley is willing to adopt a bipartisan stance in the national fight against crime.
    The King’s Counsel and former St Philip North Member of Parliament was named by Prime Minister Mia Amor Mottley on Sunday as co-chair of the Advisory Council on Citizenship Security, alongside President of the Senate The Most Honourable Reginald Farley.
    The announcement came as Mottley delivered a strong warning that those who want to wage war in Barbadian communities should “go to where wars are already raging”.
    Reform
    Lashley said the focus must be on strengthening the justice system and protecting the vulnerable rather than on partisan politics. He added that reforms to the justice system and rehabilitation programmes must take priority.
    “We want to make sure we have a safe country and, of course, you must adopt, in some instances, a statesman-like approach in that you must seek to do good for the country, putting aside the partisan politics,” he told Starcom Network yesterday.
    He added that the work of the council should centre on justice for the vulnerable.
    “We must look at ways and means of improving the criminal justice system. Look at ways and means of how the vulnerable and poor people have access to justice and . . . how are we going to strengthen our criminal justice system.”
    The senior attorney also pointed to the need for preventative measures and reintegration programmes.
    “We have to look at how we are going to treat persons who are at risk, youth who are at risk and also how are we going to look at programmes to rehabilitate persons back into society after they have served a sentence or a term of imprisonment,” he said.
    The Advisory Council on Citizenship Security is tasked with making recommendations on reforms to the criminal justice system and supporting community safety initiatives.
    The appointment comes against the backdrop of 35 murders being recorded so far for the year, most involving firearms, along with a series of robberies and violent crimes.
    When asked whether his role signalled a political crossover to the Barbados Labour Party, the former DLP vice-president stated: “On that one I would put on my darkers.”
    However, the decision to have Lashley sit at the helm of a crime-fighting body in the Mottley administration is expected to prompt questions about his position within the DLP. He has not publicly commented on his current standing in the party.
    Up to press time, efforts to get a response from DLP president and Opposition Leader Ralph Thorne were unsuccessful.(CLM)
  39. Proverbs 12:15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, …
    As we can see with World Leaders and Political Actors in USA and UK and other places. Politicians are bullshit artists in Government and Opposition.
    Can anyone really expect players like Trump and Vance to add any value to USA.
    But who is going to lead a Revolution in Barbados?
    John A is inspired by Turning Point and Tommy Robinson, I would stay well clear of his nonsense is my message to the wise
  40. @Enuff
    Don’t panic!
    Please advise the PM that people demanding full disclosure on the cost for hosting Carifesta is not unusual. In a living breathing democracy good governance dictates such transparency.
  41. “The appointment of large councils, committees, boards, and task forces has become the go-to tactic of this government.”
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    A “go-to tactic” of BOTH political administrations.

    Establishing “commissions, councils, boards, task forces,” etc., and appointing ‘out of favoured’ political opponents thereto isn’t synonymous with or confined to the current ‘government.’

    Over the years, successive BLP and DLP administrations have hired several consultants, and overseen the preparation of several DRAFT blue, white, green papers…… on the disabled, elderly, youth, homeless, mental health, crime, agriculture, housing, etc.

    And, I’m sure we’ll have DIFFICULTY in IDENTIFYING any OBJECTIVES therefrom that were SUCCESSFULLY ACHIEVED.

    Let’s take a brief look at the elderly, for example.

    In 1998, the BLP established the ‘National COMMITTEE for the International Year of Older Persons,’ and subsequently prepared a draft policy document, ‘Guidelines for the Development of a National Policy on Ageing.’ This was used as a guideline to prepare the ‘Green Paper on a National Policy on Ageing,’ which was approved by Parliament in 2004.

    The DLP appointed a NEW National Committee on Ageing in 2008, which, in 2010, submitted a draft White Paper that was guided by the research conducted by previous National Ageing Committees.
    ‘Government’ subsequently prepared ANOTHER draft white paper on ageing, entitled ‘National Policy on Ageing for Barbados,’ dated January 31, 2012.

    In February 2023, the current administration presented their VERSION, “The 2023-2028 National Policy on Ageing for Barbados.’

    Ironically, BOTH the 2012 and 2023 National Ageing Policies focused on, accessibility, economic & financial security, active ageing, health & health care, physical environment.

    The policies also mentioned retirement, PENSIONS and ensuring access to comprehensive, adequate and sustainable levels of SOCIAL SECURITY; ensuring adequate levels of financial and economic assistance; the elderly’s the RIGHT to work and addressing AGE DISCRIMINATION.

    NEITHER political party has ADDRESSED the ISSUES of age discrimination and the elderly’s right to work.

    Through EXCESSIVE BORROWING and the 2018–19 Sovereign Debt Restructuring, BOTH administrations decreased NIS liquidity, thereby affecting FUTURE PAYMENTS of PENSIONS to PENSIONERS, and DENYING them of ‘adequate and sustainable levels of social security.’

    Additionally, I had to LAUGH when I read, “it was recommended that improvements to the public transportation sector reflect the transportation needs of older persons.”

    Transport Board’s bus availability DECREASED to 65 units per day, under the DLP’s tenure.
    The current Mottley administration bought electric buses with REDUCED seating capacity, while SCRAPPING and selling the older units, rather than repair or refurbish them.
    TB’s ability to adequately and efficiently service all routes has been severely affected, resulting in ALL passengers waiting extended periods for buses, in the terminals or at bus stops.

    Successive BLP and DLP administrations have been struggling to enforce laws governing the privately owned PSVs since the early 1980s, while the operators run AMOK on the roads.

    From 1998 to 2025…… TWENTY-SEVEN (27) years of draft white papers and several national policies. Yet, there hasn’t been any SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS in the plight of the elderly.

  42. So here is my view of where we are in Barbados right now sumarised in a single line. WE WANT CHANGE AS LONG AS NOTHING REALLY CHANGES.

    How many years have both governments been battling with the ZR situation with no real changes occuring? Has to be at least 30 years by now. Why have our governments on both sides of the fence not tackled this problem with real change? They want ideas from the public after being voted in power twice 30 to 0, meaning they have the power to change any law unchallenged, yet still no change. You want ideas so here is mine for free. No consultancy fee, no committee formation fee, not one cent fee.

    As of January 2026 make all traffic offenses that do not entail bodily injury or death a ticketable offence. Any policeman catching a PSV or anyone else doing shite on our roads, can write him or her a ticket that must be paid at any police station within 3 working days. Failure to doing this, the vehicle will be inpounded until the matter is settled. In a police stop if the officer finds the vehicle involved is not insured, it will be immediately inpounded until proof of insurance is shown and the inpound fees and fine for driving without insurance is paid. There will be a stated schedule of fees for offences. You can of course challenge the fine through the legal system as is your right, however the vehicle will be inpounded for the period as long as the fine remains unpaid if you go that route. You can of course pay the fine then challenge it in the court system instead, thereby allowing you to have use of the vehicle. Choice is yours.

    The above will be a cashcow for the state while at the same time removing the backlog of traffic offenses from the court system. Will it ever happen, of course not because WE WANT CHANGE AS LONG AS NOTHING REALLY CHANGES.

  43. @John A

    A laudable suggestion BUT you underestimate the corruption factor. How many of the Zrs/PSVs for example are owned by lawyers, policemen, public servants and those with money/influence?
