The American Republican Party may very well welcome back President Trump as Leader. Former President Trump has actually never left the leadership since this past election cycle. Many Americans hoped Trump would pass into the lecture cycle so many ex-legislators do, but people in the know surely believe that Trump will not leave the national stage until he is pressured to do so. 

What makes Donald Trump such a force of political and economic persuasion? Why will he not just go away gracefully? Does Canada’s Pierre Poilievre,  who is seeking The Canadian Conservatives Party Leadership share similar characteristics  with Trump?

-So called grass roots movements that often employ undemocratic means to achieve a win.

-makes promises that are attractive to the electorate but maybe not good for the nation.

-Will appear with just about anyone to promote themselves (Truck Protest in Ottawa).

-Their political platforms are based upon -Make America Great Again – Make Harperism Great Again.

-Both platforms are based on returning to “past moments in time”, lacking new concepts-new promises.

-Both men are tied to The Right Wing politically and economically, dependent upon their wealth and     influence to achieve a political win. 

-Both men are tied to foreign national influences and crisis…Trump to Russia, Pierre to USA.

– Both men are destructionists, tearing down regulations, public organizations and governmental   regimes such as Environmental Protection Agency and CBC.

-“Freedom” has become a state of mind for these men and their followers, not knowing exactly what   that means. A umbrella like statement encompassing a great deal.

– Both men’s ideologies support a greater and more powerful military complex.

If you look for any form of imaginative, creative and new political, economic or public concepts you will be dumb founded to fine any. Remember Conservatism Lives in the Past. Conservatives overall fear change, the unique and different. Well not in Ontario, where The Ford Government has shown a unique ability to seek out and work with all their citizens, Conservatives that spend money when needed(Pandemic) while managing their budgets realistically. Trump simply cancelled many social programs, and redirected the funds to places that satisfied their back room supporters needs. Pierre will certainly do everything he can to bring back Alberta’s Energy Industry, and forget all about Climate Change because “its all about the economy” and the pocket books of his supporters.

In America, President Biden may very well retire and not run due to his health, leaving Vice President Harris to face a up surging Republican crescendo. The primary’s are showing Republicans who do not support Trump are falling by the way side, and Capital Hill may have many more Republicans to deal with, creating a “yellow Brick Road” for Trump onto a Second Presidency. Pierre Poilievre has pretty well decaled himself The Conservatives new leader while still fighting the leadership campaign. 

Liberals. Environmentalists, those dependent upon public funds, those seeking a new frontier may all need to quake where they stand, as Conservatism is on the march towards future victories. 

Conservatism means to conserve what was, not what will be. Conservatism does not present hope for better, new approaches to politics and governance. Oh the good old days eh!

    It is also indisputable that none of these declassified ‘Cross Fire’ documents with supposedly incriminating details have been leaked to right wing media in these six months or so … simply because this is a NONSENSE!! Another simple fact.

    The biggest change in leaks is the number of whistleblowers who are now turning up on Chuck Grassley’s doorstep regarding Hunter Biden’s laptop and the FBI’s malfeasances.

    This has never happened before because that is not how the correct wing works.

    It has only been a function of the sinister wing.

    As the wise old woman who worked with my family for years used to say:

    “What never happened in a year will happen in a day”.

    If you look at Grassley’s and Johnson’s efforts to get the documents for Congress, you will see they are above board and they are being stonewalled.

    The stonewallers believe or believed they are the only ones with those documents even though Trump ordered them to release them since 2020/1.

    All Trump had to do is just let them get a whiff that he has them and their world will blow up.

    All of their actions suggest that Trump has something they want but they can’t get.

    The best explanation that fits the facts is the declassified Crossfire Hurricane documents.

    The folks in the sinister wing CNN operation are right now quaking in their boots freaking out because the new CEO is making fundamental changes.

    CNN may be changing from the sinister, to the correct.

    Bill Barr males the point that they belong to the Government.

    So, if an independent master gets his/her hands on the documents, they become public!!

    @Mr Blogmaster, nothing startling new but you got your query answered re the appeal! We’ll now see exactly how determined is this judge to hold to her quite strong belief that Mr Defendant is being so disadvantaged by the gov’t because she is convinced that his proprietary materials are supposedly being wrongly withheld from him and in legal parlance that such withholding can cause him to suffer “irreparable injury”.

    In this belief she has good company with experts like Alan Dershowitz who also says “Judge Aileen Cannon was correct to reject the Justice Department’s “trust us” argument that, […] The rights at stake are important: lawyer-client and executive privileges, both of which are rooted in the Constitution.”

    Amazing use of intellectual spin as others have crisply smacked those arguments to smithereens … so what’s really interesting here is how these powerful arguments are made with HALF-TRUTHS which serve the purpose to continue this dangerous play of deconstructing democratic and legal processes to frenzied MAGA fanatics who have zero interest to read and analyze carefully!

    To be clear: There is no guaranteed constitutional right that materials seized in a properly executed and legal warranted search must be returned to you unless key conditions are met. The most fundamental of those conditions is that of “irreparable injury”. And in this case, It’s an absolute NONSENSE to claim that a defendant who takes very sensitive materials from his former employer that do NOT BELONG to him (generally called theft) and then deliberately stores, for safe-keeping, those stolen materials with his own personal documents can have ANY guaranteed right to promptly recover his own materials.

    That simply makes no practical or legal sense as has been noted by various other law professors, former prosecutors etc.

    “Normal people don’t get special masters to review for attorney-client privilege when the FBI executes search warrants against them and seizes their documents. The practice, as the government explained in its brief, is used almost exclusively in cases of searches of lawyer offices—where one might expect to find documents implicating lots of different clients’ privileges. Trump cited no contrary case in which a special master had been appointed to review for attorney-client privilege in a search targeted at a non-lawyer. He was asking for special treatment, and, again, he got it.
    “… To be privileged, a document must reflect communications or work product of Trump’s private attorneys or their agents; Trump has no privilege before a federal criminal investigation with White House counsel or other government lawyers. {this is settled Supreme Court precedent] So this work, for a competent special master, would be brief if Judge Cannon’s order were limited to the attorney-client privilege.”

    Anyhow, we’ll see if this judge remains stead-fast with her counter-intuitive reasoning !

    Prosecutors with the Department of Justice (DOJ) claimed former President Donald Trump’s team may still be holding onto allegedly classified records following last month’s raid on his Mar-a-Lago property.

    They made the allegation in a court filing Thursday in arguing against the appointment of a special master, or an independent third party, to review the documents that were taken during the unprecedented search of Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence last month. Earlier this week, a federal judge sided with Trump’s team in granting their request for a special master.

    After mocking Trump in 2018 for comments about dependence on Putin for gas, Germany finds out what he meant
    As has happened so many times during Donald Trump’s presidency, comments that were mocked are suddenly making much more sense, this time to Germany.

    Though German leaders laughed at Trump’s 2018 warning about its dependence on Russian natural gas, the country now faces prices that have more than doubled since last year and is scrambling to replace the gas it gets from Russia.

    “Germany will become totally dependent on Russian energy if it does not immediately change course,
    Trump said during a UN speech four years ago. “Here in the Western Hemisphere, we are committed to maintaining our independence from the encroachment of expansionist foreign powers.”

    At the time, Germany just laughed. Fast forward four years, and it is abandoning green initiatives to burn firewood and coal in its desperation to meet the energy needs of its citizens.

    Last week, Russia turned off the Nordstream 1 pipeline indefinitely, claiming it needs repairs and that sanctions over the war with Ukraine are slowing down the repair timeline.

    It seems pretty clear that Russia is punishing Europe for the sanctions against it, and for indirectly helping Ukraine fight the Russian aggression.

    As winter weather nears in Germany, homeowners are frantically trying to buy woodstoves and wood, but they are already sold out across the country with no hope of installing new equipment or seasoning wood by the time temperatures drop.

    Of course, Trump’s hard work to reach U.S. energy independence didn’t last more than a couple of years either, since his successor is more concerned with greenhouse gases than whether Americans have natural gas to heat their homes this winter.

    While the situation is not nearly as dire in the U.S., it may only be a matter of time until the same desperation is occurring here.

    It’s not an easy transition to go from a gas furnace to wood, and even chopping firewood from your backyard isn’t a good solution since it takes up to two years to properly season wood so it burns correctly.

    It’s going to take years for the U.S. and Europe to recover from the new reality in oil and gas prices, and the world may never be the same.

    Meanwhile, OPEC cut production last week, showing that they are more than willing to take advantage of the situation to line their pockets and profit from the world’s desperation.

    Biden embarrassed after receiving news about Mar-a-Lago raid

    A former director of national intelligence says he believes the FBI didn’t find what they were looking for during its recent raid of former President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home.

    John Ratcliffe, who formerly also served as a Texas GOP congressman, told Fox News of his observations during an interview this week.
    “I was a former federal prosecutor, United States attorney. Let me tell you what this is about. Good prosecutors with good cases play it straight. They don’t need to play games,” Ratcliffe said.

    “They don’t need to shop for judges, they don’t need to leak intelligence that may or may not exist,” he added.
    The lack of evidence may be what has kept the Justice Department from revealing what was found. In addition, Trump’s legal team has now pushed to have a special master review the seized items.
    The controversy will likely continue for some time, but it appears Trump has escaped some of the damage the FBI had anticipated to find.

    I find it very difficult to equate “populism” as associated with demagoguery to “true democracy” based on historical or current political movements. That a billionaire who sits as part of the world wide 1% elite is further associated to the populist cry as supposedly a voice for the average working class/middle class citizens is beyond confusing!

The DOJ does not initiate full scale matters like this with the intent to smear … I fully understand that has been done in the past (FBI under Hoover, for example) but in modern times that has NOT been a practice … even during the Trump regime! Thus, it would be rather difficult in practical terms that they do not “indict” this man at some point.

    They appealed, because the fundamental rationale for the Special Master is quite absolutely flawed … reasonable folks can agree to disagree on whether a SM actually brings an unimpeachable transparency but that’s one point only. On the merits of the law and re the national security investigation the DOJ is saying her ruling makes little sense … for example : she said the DNI could continue their security review but the investigation must stop when in reality the two facets of the case are likely impossible to segregate as agents are INVESTIGATING and REVIEWING based on the same records!

    Donald Trump scored a win in his battle with Biden’s DOJ. The federal judge overseeing this case ruled that a special master must review the documents taken by the FBI.

    This would assure that privileged material isn’t used by the DOJ—material they had no right to take.

    But, Biden’s DOJ is trying to push back against this decision. The Biden administration’s Department of Justice is scrambling to prevent transparency about documents seized Aug. 8 when 30 to 40 FBI agents ransacked Trump’s estate in Palm Beach, Florida.

    In the latest move, the DOJ on Thursday filed an appeal of U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon’s Monday decision to appoint a special master to review the documents the FBI took during the raid. The DOJ is trying to get Judge Cannon to put a hold on her decision to appoint a special master. They claimed that if she didn’t, “the government and public also will suffer irreparable harm from the undue delay to the criminal investigation.”

    Uh… what? What does that even mean? The government and public will “suffer irreparable harm” just because a neutral third party will review the many documents they took from Trump’s home?
    including possible documents the government had no right to see? The DOJ claims that this normal part of a legal process–picking a special master–would cause “undue delay to the criminal investigation.”

    So what? It sounds like Biden’s DOJ is trying to railroad this investigation. The fast it goes, the harder it would be for Trump or anyone else to seek justice. This pushback only appears to underscore this DOJ’s political agenda. Why is it so bad for a special master to ensure protected material isn’t used by the DOJ? That’s material they were not supposed to seize from Mar-a-Largo in the first place.

    Is the DOJ really after documents protected by attorney-client privilege and not just White House documents?
    Many believe this investigation was a farce from the start. Another fishing attempt by Democrats to find dirt on Donald Trump–all to stop him from running in 2024.

    This move by the DOJ doesn’t help these suspicions. Americans will only question the DOJ more.

    Trump got some documents hidden at his Bedminster property or so a discredited ex FBI agent thinks.

    I want to see what judge or magistrate they will find to grant a search warrant for Bedminster now that their game is exposed.

    When it dawns on them that Trump may have some stored in the cloud, I expect every available plane will be sent to check it out.

    Don’t need a search warrant to search a cloud.

    We know the school board meetings in many states are also being inundated by irate parents seeking to be heard on various initiatives practiced in secret on their children.

    The response from the DOJ and White House is to declare the parents “Domestic Terrorists” and get the FBI to watch and monitor their activities.

    The correct wing will vote the sinister wing out of office as the correct wing uses correct wing methods to fix problems they encounter, and the correct wing is several times larger than the sinister wing.

    The FBI and DOJ have in a matter of a day leaked all sorts of so-called classified documents to the public and foreign enemies.

    Word has started to come out that former President Donald Trump said he declassified the documents he had at Mar-A-Lago because he was afraid incoming President Joe Biden would destroy them because they were evidence of various plots against him.
    Trump told several people before leaving office that he believed the documents in question would reveal “Deep State” plotting against him and that Biden might “shred” or burn the documents to destroy the evidence, according to a Rolling Stone piece dated this week.
    Specifically, the documents had to do with the 2016 Russian collusion plot against him.
    Trump said that he and former Chief of Staff Mark Meadows worked on declassifying
    “I think they thought it was something to do with the Russia, Russia, Russia hoax,” Trump also told a Newsmax host during a radio interview last week.
    “They were afraid that things were in there — part of their scam material,” he added.
    Former DNI chief under Trump John Ratcliffe said last week on Fox News that he didn’t believe the FBI found what they were looking for in the raid.
    “I was a former federal prosecutor, United States attorney. Let me tell you what this is about. Good prosecutors with good cases play it straight. They don’t need to play games,” Ratcliffe said about Justice Department officials. “They don’t need to shop for judges, they don’t need to leak intelligence that may or may not exist.”

    The DOJ’s fight against appointing a special master to review the materials seized “tells you that the government didn’t find what they were looking for,” Ratcliffe continued.
    “There weren’t nuclear secrets” at Mar-A-Lago, he pointed out, “and they’re trying to justify what they’ve done. They’re not playing it straight before the American people. I think that that’s going to play out.”
    Many Republicans believe that the DOJ was looking to indict Trump ahead of the midterm elections to interfere with his influence over many voters, but an unwritten deadline of 60 days before the election has passed, and the DOJ traditionally doesn’t hand down indictments any closer to the election because of the possible appearance of attempted interference.
    Then again, they really, really want to get Trump, so we will see what happens.

    @Dub5, you know better than to suggest such an impossibility of jail time for a FPOTUS! That’s not going happen..

    In that regard many people wonder: then why indict/prosecute the man in first place!

    But an indictment need not necessitate jail in this situation … as with Nixon who got pardoned for his crimes or indeed as Trump pardoned others and wanted to pardon more for their future indictable crimes.

    He must be held accountable but obviously will never suffer any sanction like that which separates him from society!

    As the midterms draw nigh the Democrats will be moved to a fever pitch of harassment of Trump and his allies.

    They realise that the odds of Biden getting impeached are pretty high and if he goes, Harris going too.

    That will happen in the New Year and if control of the House and Senate flips as it is expected to, the United States of America will need a new President who will be or rather can be the Speaker of the House as next in line.

    The Speaker does not have to be an elected member of the House.

    That means Trump is a clear and present danger for the Democrats and may have an open path back to the Presidency with no election necessary.

    It makes sense for him to be the man to be chosen by the House to be effectively the next president because he has the support of the people.

    The Democrats may be faced by Trump as president for a second term in the new year which will be under two years and will leave him still eligible to run in 2024 for a third term which will be the full 4 years.

    Biden and Harris really need to resign but that’s not how it works, the game has to play out.

    There is an element of desperation now to the Democrats and they will do anything to stop Trump.

    Even if they manage to stop Trump in the next 4 months or so, there is always De Santis or a host of other Republicans who will be just the same for the Democrats.

    It is going to be a continuation of the greatest show on earth. and I am looking forward to it.

    The problem would be getting the 2/3 majority in the Senate.

    Democrats would have to support the impeachment OR, Republicans would have to win all 34 Senate seates up for grabs in the midterms.
