Recent COVID 19 Dashboards reflect a global picture, one of rising infections caused mainly by the Delta variant. Unfortunately because Barbados does not exist in a fishbowl, our tiny island is being ravaged by the the coronavirus. Given the perilous state of the economy before the pandemic struck, Barbadians should expect a period of economic hardship for the next many years, ten, twenty …it is left to be seen. We will probably be told differently very soon with 2023 rapidly approaching.

It is regrettable the one advantage our island has compared to larger countries we continue to squander. Come together, agree to a way forward , inspire residents to rally behind a sensible plan AND EXECUTE. Instead we see the same old, political opportunism, high class ignorance and panic.

    If you have eased off the bathing for a long enough period, that will have sharply reduced your opportunities for close social interactions, so of course you won’t catch covid. Lol!.

    Fully vaccinated people are almost twice as likely to have no symptoms than unvaccinated people if they catch, COVID-19, a study suggests

    But most vaccinated people in the study didn’t catch COVID-19.

    Study authors said vaccinated people who interacted with vulnerable people should get regular tests.

    The study from researchers at King’s College London was published in The Lancet Infectious Diseases medical journal late Wednesday. It found that fewer than 0.2% of 971,504 fully vaccinated adults studied caught COVID-19 at least a week after their second dose.

    But, for the 2,370 who did get infected post-vaccination, the likelihood of having no symptoms increased by 94% compared to someone who’s unvaccinated, the study authors said.

    The scientists also found that the likelihood of catching COVID-19 with five or more symptoms in the first week of illness was reduced by about a third in those fully vaccinated. The likelihood of getting hospitalized with COVID-19 after two doses of a COVID-19 shot was reduced by two-thirds, they said.

    The study authors said that the findings highlighted the importance of regularly testing vaccinated people regardless of symptoms. This was especially the case if they interacted with unvaccinated people or those vulnerable to COVID-19, such as those who are older or with underlying health conditions.

    Dr. Claire Steves, co-lead study author, said in a statement that the findings “highlight the crucial role vaccines play in larger efforts to prevent COVID-19 infections, which should still include other personal protective measures such as mask-wearing, frequent testing, and social distancing.”

    The self-reported nature of the data means that some data was inaccurate or missing. A COVID-19 infection was proven either with a lab test or quicker lateral flow test.

    The research, which was funded by the UK government, used the Zoe app, a symptom-tracker with more than 4.7 million users worldwide.

    The researchers compared those who said they were vaccinated with either Pfizer, Moderna, or AstraZeneca’s vaccines and those who were unvaccinated. They took into account other factors like age, health risk factors and geographical location that may impact the results.

    The symptoms they looked at included: fever, chills, persistent cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, loss of smell, hoarse voice, chest pain, tummy pain, diarrhoea, confusion, eye discomfort, dizziness, sore throat, unusual muscle aches, blisters on feet, worse hayfever, hair loss, and brain fog.

    Protection against variants

    The study, which took place between December 8, 2020, and July 4, 2021 captured infections caused by both the formerly dominant Alpha variant and the highly infectious Delta variant, which has mutations that help it avoid the immune response. But the variant that the participants caught was not looked at in the study.

    As the resident BU expert on longevity, former certified virgin and consummated “has been”, you would know the birth rate in Barbados 50 odd years ago was several times what it is now.

    Bajans were far more stinky then proving that bathing was not an impediment to social intercourse.

    Reproductive energy internally is responsible for the generation of life. The generation of blood, the generation of cells, the generation of bone marrow. It’s a no brainer to know it’s obvious importance and we are familiar of the reproductive energy to give birth to the next generation. Making babies, can anything be more powerful than that.
    Even when we are not making babies we are still making a baby internally. One analogy of sexual energy is we know how important sex is in our life.

    The second way of looking at Jing energy is DNA energy, not just DNA itself but the energy associated with DNA not only the grouping of the DNA but the behaviour of the DNA. Now we understand that the behaviour of the DNA is directly contributing to the function of the body and of course contributing to emotional capacity as well beyond the conventional sciences of the moment the former esoteric science energy science we know. The energy is not just affecting physical health. So when you are looking at DNA there is two aspects one is the grouping of the DNA Code itself the structures, the second is the function and with your understanding the function is more important. The function is not totally 100% determined by the code, there is a terminology called epigenetic. That is the part we emphasise no matter what is the original blueprint, the original blueprint carries the potential, but what is your life beyond, which is something you can talk about for hours. People with same DNA blueprint, their health and behaviour can be very different, even their characteristics can be very different function. The deeper question lies in destination from creation, nature versus nurture, as an ongoing debate in ongoing mystery of life.

    So by emphasising nurturing you are also changing the nature.

    So another way of understanding the DNA is very much the corresponding miniature of the brain, we know we are only using a certain percentage potential of the brain right now in human evolution. Brain scientists say 5%-10% which means 90-95% is not used. The implication of that is incredible. So what is the 90-95%. When we are using the brain to study certain things it is convenient you can easily find the correlation relationship in the brain function in the body. But, that doesn’t mean the discovery in only about the brain. The discovery is about the whole body. The brain is like a mirror refracting what is happening inside.

    So think of the DNA energy only a small percentage is activated, that means genetically functional by you, from the generation come, from the evolution of life on the planet earth. It’s generationally functionally activated. The 90-95% has not been activated. That is the good news. So if you only look at 5-10% you get a lot of bad news. If you are only looking that way you are doomed. What about this 90-95%. In the scientific field in the old days people trashed that part. thinking that part of the code is not useful. It’s a mystery they couldn’t explain it. Why is it there, trash it, dismiss it.. now they are realising, “oh it just more than trash”. Thinking that this most powerful creation of life in the human in the birth can carry trash is unthinkable is crazy to think that.

    So how to activate the part that has not been activated that is beyond human evolution that is internal alchemy that is the internal art that is the expansion of the potential beyond our generation. That is parallel to what people are doing with energy practice of mind body heart awakening the potential going beyond your diagnosis. All your diagnosis are based on old patterns of what is activated what is statistically true what is generationally true what is physically tangibly can be measured. The point is the 90-95% can not be measured. That’s why we call it hidden potential. the 5-10% is activated can be measured now, but measurement is only based on what can be measured, without realising the great part of ourself can not be measured. You can think of the own story of your life how much can be measured, between the known and unknown.That’s why the scientific number is helpful, we can say only 5-10% is known.

    This number is very interesting in the discovery of science, the most important discovery in scientific history, the discovery of the whole universe only about 4% is physically measurable. The rest of the power more than 96% is beyond measurement is invisible energy power, because our past behaviour is only based on what is measurable that is how we keep on evolving from generation to generation. That’s how we perceive life that’s how we track life that is how we analyse life.

    Another way of understanding the DNA energy what is activated what is not activated and practice allows you to activate, thinking of the knowledge in the dao tradition. DNA carries two kinds of energy, one is called prenatal energy the other is called postnatal energy, prenatal energy also has a more fancy name called heavenly energy and postnatal energy is called earthly energy. The Earth and Heaven unite creating Love is not just a metaphor. So what that means is post natal energy the heaven energy creates the potential including the 96%. The postnatal energy the earth energy carries the 4% the mother father energy combine together come from previous generations before them come from this continuos evolution of life on planet earth.

    The deeper understanding of what DNA energy means is more important than the scientific interpretation.
    Wisdom is known for this ancient wise people and know we have enough scientific evidence not only validating but we also have more direct experience itself to know the truth an understand the truth at least able to understand. Even just 30 years ago it was very difficult to understand these concepts. Very esoteric when we say heaven and earth uniting it is such esoteric language nobody can understand this, people think you are crazy what are you talking about, now you see the parallel of this language and scientific language then in the middle the experiential language is the energy language. Qigong is more like the language in the middle of esoteric metaphysical and also the more scientific practical mundane way. From the middle you can understand both and you can bridge both you can use the strength of both the best of the two worlds. If you lean too much of this you are lost if you lean to much of that you can be limited. So when we are understanding the deeper energy esoteric meaning of these numbers and realising profoundly true phenomena including our own existence.

    This push into Africa is coming very late . We were told to do so since the 70s but we thought that Africa was not ready for us because for our ignorance .
    We have to now learn how business is done there if we carry any superior complex ,the stay will be very brief.
    Failure to educate our people about Africa has now returned to bite us.
    We must not believe that pretty political PR is the most needed or only tool. But with these jokers and opportunists one never knows.

    How can you be “vaccinated” against the MOST VIRULENT form of a disease with the remainder left to chance?
    That makes no sense. Anyone who continues to repeat that is just as IGNORANT as the fools who have come up with it.
    When you body encounters a pathogen, it makes an antibody. Not an antibody against the worse form, it makes and antibody against the pathogen as it understands it to be..
    Globally, statistics show that peoples bodies world-wide are 97 to 98% effective in fighting off Covid-19, 20, 21, Delta, Epsilon, Mu, whatever, so why go playing with that?
    Pfizer, Moderna, J&J and all these other white fools playing God will end very badly for many! Mark my word on that!
    So using Covid as a Segway into why our economy is tanking is weak. We have had many opportunities to make this economy resilient and failed to do so. That’s OUR fault, not Covids
    We in Barbados are continually at full fault. I keep saying this.
    We don’t want to diversify any economy! Our continued actions show that.
    We pay lip service to many things that we can move the economy forward with in favor of keeping a status-quo going.

    As an example of this, right now with the sun up and shining, we are at over 60Mw Solar PV Generating capacity, why are we not seeing gains as it relates to the amount of oil we now save on purchasing?
    Why is Gas at $4.00 a litre? That translates to almost $4US a gallon at 2.2 Liters per gallon? Is this Afghanistan? Why is gas soo expensive?
    Why did we shut down a refinery here in favor of propping up Trinidad by sending our crude there? Who benefited from that decision?
    Why with so much natural gas deposits is LPG still being played around with here? Why is the natural Gas network so under-developed?
    Why are the vast quantities of oil and gas reserves off our north coast still sitting idly there? Because a greezy politician cant get a suitable payout to allow it to be exploited?
    Remember the Trinidad-Barbados fishing agreement? It was nothing to do with fish, that was the herring dangled in front of us. Trinidad wanted to claim the oil to or north coast, That’s all there was to it.
    So Bajans were supposed to give up there heritage to Trinidad almost 200 miles south of us.
    I wonder if they had a hand in the theft of the ONLY seismic data resulting from a survey that we had done that sat on a hard drive at BNOCL and was stolen by an employee who was subsequently charged!
    Why are we not looking to install wind turbines in strategic areas in Barbados to push that green energy number to over 100MW with that added advantage of not having to rely on a singe source of energy?
    Why is it that think that only certain peoples ideas are valid or that only certain classes should have anything in this place.

    Let Covid and its excuses cripple your mind.

    My mind is not given over to a reprobate state, so I see through all that nonsense about one person trying to insert themself as my God, Creator and Savior! while traveling to dark corners of the world to bury flags, perform questionable rituals and invite some of the darkest energy to dwell over this land to their own aggrandizement.
    Aint Happening.
    What was the response when the people called for the head of the persons in the previous government on the night of May 24th 2018 and early into the morning of May 25th?

    I argue that we just adopt the position that we will change governments every 5 years unless they are mitigating circumstances.
    Every administration about here will find an excuse as to why things that needed to happen in Barbados either didn’t or cant. That is because when ever another administration comes to power, on the backs of gifts from the whites, they have to do their bidding to stay in power, or so it wound appear.
    Time to change this model totally.
    No campaign finance at all. Get the rid of it
    Grass roots politics or nothing.
    NO Republic either because that cannot work with the current socially and morally questionable leadership we seem to have.

    There is a saying that people “see the forest for the trees”. Essentially, one can be so involved in the details of an issue that one fails to consider the whole situation.
    If this can be applied to the current situation facing Barbados in how we are seeking to address the exploding COVID-19 infections, it would partly explain the divisive debate on vaccinations.
    On social media and radio call-in programmes, the discussions have become rancorous. Often punctuated with the peddling of questionable sources of information being passed off as fact, the media space has helped fuel the uncertainty and confusion surrounding COVID-19 and efforts to treat and stave off the disease.
    The debate, particularly over vaccination, is dividing many friends, workmates, families and even business to business relationships. Use of outlandish words and phrases such as ‘medical apartheid’ has worsened the inflammatory environment.
    One may ask what represents the “big picture” in the Barbados context? At this juncture, it is about survival of the whole. Personal and economic survival are at risk. Our children’s education, our health care system, our ability to earn a living as a country and as citizens, our ability to feed ourselves are real life consequences.
    Those who are prone to reject this argument as hyperbole, should examine the numbers, the simple facts, the reality of the deteriorating quality of life that confronts a growing number of Barbadians.
    At the national level, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has pronounced that “Barbados’ economy remains severely depressed by the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic. While tourism is expected to recover gradually in the second half of 2021 and the first half of 2022, risks to the outlook remain.”
    With Delta and other variants wreaking havoc across the Caribbean, the incentives to travel to the region to escape the gloom of an emerging new wave of infections in our tourism key source markets, are diminishing.
    We have accumulated US$1.4 billion (BDS$ 2.8 billion) in foreign reserves on which to rely. However, as those who have become jobless during this pandemic will attest, significant savings in the bank can quickly disappear in the absence of steady income.
    Government has assumed the noble task of shouldering the mammoth costs of Barbadians and residents who test positive for the disease, as well as the quarantine costs for close contacts of COVID-positive patients until they can produce negative test results.
    The argument has been made that the state can reduce this multi-milliondollar bill by allowing people to quarantine at home, if they have adequate accommodation for such.
    But we know how that went in the early stages of the pandemic last year.
    People awaiting COVID-19 test results found all types of frivolous reasons to leave home, endangering unsuspecting persons with whom they came into contact.
    The highly infectious new variants have altered everything. Government, under immense pressure from wary and disgruntled citizens demanding a lifting of COVID-19 restrictions, is forced to pay attention to the big picture and not just the granular emotions and anxieties of individuals.
    We are on the verge of reporting almost 100 cases daily. This island will never have the human or financial capacity to adequately treat hundreds of sick COVID- 19 patients, no matter how many schools are converted into medical facilities.
    Our testing facilities are now unable to satisfy the growing demand of those who suspect they were in contact with a positive person and want confirmation of their status. While visitors attempting to leave the island are frustrated by the inability of our lab to meet its 24 to 48 hours commitment to produce results.
    There have been more than 400 confirmed new infections in the last seven days. And only those who are not prepared to listen will refuse to accept that a tsunami is approaching.
    The more than 100 000 brave people, who chose to ignore the anti-vaccine lobby and examined the big picture, are proving to be insufficient to push back the rising tide of infections.
    Our government projects the narrative of “no retreat, no surrender” but it is obvious that the local business community is worried the situation is barreling out of control. As such, they are prepared to say and do what the administration is hesitant to touch.
    The Barbados Private Sector Association’s consistent push for vaccination is being reinforced by prominent business owners, who are putting pressure on the administration to do more and take a stronger stand.
    While we argue over the rare side effects of vaccines, Rome is burning. We cannot wait for the deluge when we can clearly see the cracks in the dam.

    A public service vehicle driver on one of the country’s busiest routes has come down with COVID-19, the Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) confirmed on Friday, and pleaded with anyone who came into contact with that driver to get tested for the deadly virus.

    2% of the population of Barbados is 5,460 people
    3% of the population of Barbados is 8,190

    You may be cool with seeing up to 8,190 Bajans die of Covid19, but I am not, and the MAJORITY of adult Bajans are NOT cool with that.

    Barbados has a population of about 200,000 adults. The MAJORITY of Barbadian adults 113,404 people have already VOTED WITH THEIR FEET by going to the vaccination clinics and receiving the vaccination. If you are a supporter of an opposition party as you seem to be I would advise you to be guided by the numbers, and to please note that the MAJORITY of the electorate by their actions have shown that they disagree with you.

    It is not the pandemic that is the problem, but the hysteria of the opposition, which is inciting our government to take excessive Corona measures, such as a totally unnecessary quarantine after entry for those who have been vaccinated.

    The fact is that the economy in many other pepper islands, as well as in Guyana, is currently experiencing a real boom, because the tourist flows are choosing new, easily accessible destinations. And what do we do? We let our Moderna and Biontech vaccinated tourists linger in hotels for 2-4 days because the unnecessary PCR tests come far too late. As I know personally from talking to numerous travellers, many want to avoid Barbados in the future. Our people and the opposition are backwoods and xenophobic.

    Our government must act quickly and place the President of BAMP and other totally xenophobic leaders of the destructive Taliban policy in protective custody to save them from the public wrath of tourists.

    Unless you are God, you or I, cant prevent that from happening. Any disease, natural or man-made results in deaths.
    NO amount of social distancing (and that term is really incorrect if you are maintaining some random number of feet that you are told to do), washing hands, spraying feet, not touching your face ( absolute madness) or singing to the moon at midnight will change that.
    What will change that is IMPROVING AND STRENGTHENING YOUR IMMUNITY!
    Nothing else.
    People want a magic bullet and it has been offered in the form of a “vaccine”. Mind you, one that only prevents the worst kind of the disease. And that somehow makes lots of sense to people.
    Do you want to really talk about deaths. Well have a read here:

    If we are saying that this vaccine is the way to go, and it will save lives, it HAS to be better than the 96~98% natural immunity that we now enjoy.
    It cant be a futile promise rooted in fear. It MUST be validated and tested to the Nth degree.
    So no, I am not a B, D, E or politician looking for a vote. I am one who clearly sees that diet, exercise, vitamin D, and the benefits of the ocean which is close to just about all of us, is the best way of combating the virus. It cant stop people from dying, but if we want a magic bullet, keep listening to the W.H.O, CDC and other agencies who clearly change their tune daily to keep fear and trembling alive.
    Not ONE of these speaks to improved immunity without mentioning a vaccine. And that cannot be validated because they have not tested it enough to know its true outcome.

    Now, if 113,000 bajans have already voted with their feet as you say, then I guess that you buy into the hype that the unvaccinated are making the vaccinated sick. Or that the majority of persons getting gravely ill are unvaccinated.
    If this is really true, then vaccinated persons have nothing to worry about. They are protected by the shield or Moderna, Pfizer, J&J or other vaccine manufacturers. However, if this is not true, and their bodies are now genetically altered in such a way that they are really more susceptible to other variants of the virus or other viruses, you were injected under false pretenses. Problem here is that its one set of people reporting, “educating” vaccinating and managing this supposed “crisis”. There is no balance. And that is a problem in itself because it allows for the notion of absolute power corrupting to come alive

    My question to you is: Why is it so important for the whole world to take something that is unproven, untested scientifically as a vaccination should be, and appears to be a downright threat to humanity?
    Who are we to play with messenger RNA (mRNA)
    When man plays with creation, the results are always detrimental. Always.
    Remember Hitler? He wanted to create a Master Race and played with genetics without the aid of a lab. The results of his interbreeding experiments can still be seen today. And those results aren’t pretty.

    So what makes us right in this instance when history has shown that it was wrong at every turn previously?
    Why are alternative therapies being suppressed and no discussion is being had around this other than ONE set of people talking all the time and saying the same thing?
    Look, call me a conspiracy theorist, anti-vaccer, or any other label that big pharma and the media wants to affix to people who think for themselves and challenge behaviors that contravene nature, but I hope that when this whole horse and pony show starts to be revealed for whatever it is, people are happy with their decisions and the outcomes of said.
    I will continue to exercise, get sunlight, eat well and protect my immunity as much as I can.

    Here in Barbados, the situation is even more dramatic. We don’t even have enough vaccine. Thanks to the egomaniac Barrow who broke Barbados away from Britain in 1966 with false promises and by force. All the Corona deaths in Barbados since December 2020 are due to the DLP who brought us independence and with it the vaccine shortage.

    Our judiciary must finally crack down on the DLP and charge its leaders with manslaughter by omission!

    I am double vaccinated with the Astra Zeneca vaccine. I will continue to clean my hands [as I have done since very early childhood] I will continue to keep my distance [I never liked people all up in my face anyhow] I will wear my mask, I will continue to exercise [I haven’t had a motor vehicle at my home for more than 20 years, so you know that I walk about a lot] I get plenty of sunlight [I work my in my fields 9-12 hours per week, 52 weeks per year, and I’ve worked in the fields with my parents since I was a pre-schooler]. I am a pensioner now, so you know that I very likely have a better Vitamin D level than you or anybody on BU] I eat well because I grow plenty of my own food and I get it nice and fresh. I would suggest that you and all reading this column, do the very same.

    Measles when I was 10
    Chicken pox when I was 27
    Mononucleosis when I was 36
    The pandemic flu in 1957. Everybody in my home got that one.
    And the flu in 2006, 2009 and 2012.
    I am all good since 2012.
    But who knows what will happen after September 4th, 2021?
