As the blogmaster is typing he is witnessing a scene in the US Capitol akin to what is associated in countries often described as banana republics. It is impossible to find the words to accurately describe events which have caused the ceremonial event of the Electoral College to be suspended as members scatter to preserve life and limb.

@Quaker John
Should we discuss Trumpism without Trump? Also the attack on free speech by the technology companies?
John and a few other misguided souls;
What BLM riots what? How could you all seriously equate any aspect of the conduct of the BLM demonstrations with the Trump Capitol Riot?
There were no BLM riots! The BLM protest marches were essentially ordinary marches by a wide grouping of white, black and brown; old, young and very young; grandparents, parents and children, to protest the many takings of ordinary black lives. Trump and his followers are masters of the art of focusing, mirroring and redirection of the dirty truths of their operations to befowl the actions of their opponents.
The BLM protest marches were in almost total measure diametrically opposed in all metrics to Trump’s Capitol Riot. Equating them through the term riot is antithetical to truth, reason and commonsense.
Stupse!
Trump was a curse on USA and the whole world but the renewal will commence now we reached the conclusion of this piece of white trash in power

#Impeach
I heard a single article of impeachment have already been filed, one person opined that it will at least deter him from ever running for public office again.
found the article.
“The single article of impeachment contends that President Trump’s comments about the results of the presidential election encouraged supporters to storm the Capitol and interrupt Congress’ certification of Biden’s victory. The document highlights that the president has repeatedly rejected Biden’s win and points to his phone call with Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, whom he told: “I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have, because we won the state.”
Not filed yet, debated on this week…he gotta go…house majority whip seems to be on it.
“Democrats, who drafted the impeachment article, claim that the president’s behavior “endangered the security” of the country and described Trump as a “threat to national security.” They write that he should be ousted from the office and prohibited from holding a public office again.
When? Democrats plan to introduce the article of impeachment today when the House goes into session. House Majority Whip Rep. Jim Clyburn (D-SC) said Sunday they will vote on it this week.”
Impeaching Trump is an open and shut case

After months of stoking anger about alleged election fraud, one of America’s largest talk-radio companies has decided on an abrupt change of direction.
Cumulus Media, which employs some of the most popular right-leaning talk-radio hosts in the United States, has told its on-air personalities to stop suggesting that the election was stolen from President Trump — or else face termination.
A Cumulus executive issued the directive on Wednesday, just as Congress met to certify Joe Biden’s election victory and an angry mob of Trump supporters marched on the Capitol, overwhelmed police and briefly occupied the building, terrorizing lawmakers and leading to the deaths of five people.
“We need to help induce national calm NOW,” Brian Philips, executive vice president of content for Cumulus, wrote in an internal memo, which was first reported by Inside Music Media. Cumulus and its program syndication arm, Westwood One, “will not tolerate any suggestion that the election has not ended. The election has been resolved and there are no alternate acceptable ‘paths.’ ”
The memo adds: “If you transgress this policy, you can expect to separate from the company immediately.

@David, ahhh Mr Blogmaster recall we touched on this matter of ‘scholarly’ defense of a “reasoned moot” … you can distrust the blogger @Austin as much as you like but he raises the eternally reasoned ‘free speech’ argument.
We all saw this man purposefully incite anger and encourage citizens to seek an overthrow of the election process but yet at every stage his language was of a standard that has allowed others to escape criminal sanction of sedition or inciting a riot!
Clearly the bull horn of a POTUS is dangerously loud and cannot be equated, for example, to that of a Louis Farrakan and his million-man march protests or that of an Al Sharpton with his most revolutionary rhetoric … but the law is the law, bro!
Mr DJT loudly asked his supporters to march (and stupidly) attempt to change a legislative process they could NOT … but despite his remarks like: “stand back and stand by”, “never concede”, and strongly encouraging a mob with lies to take “the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back [their] country” surely a Alan Dershowitz first amendment legal eagle type or the man himself could safely defend his right to say such incendiary stuff!
The law is still the law … even for jackasses and blowhards!
Buttt, of course the law of politics is argued in a different court and there he has clearly been found damanably guilty and will be ‘exiled’ … how remotely so as to reduce his lasting impact we will find out!
I gone.
First amendment rights and second amendment rights will be USA’s downfall and death in this dispensation of white hypocrisy
Trump should be denied my favourite amendment which is the fifth

“The New York State Bar Association is looking to revoke Rudy Giuliani’s membership, launching a review of comments made by the longtime Trump lawyer that fueled the Capitol riots.
The organization cited Giuliani’s speech before a crowd of pro-Trump supporters in Washington, D.C. last Wednesday, in which the former New York City mayor said, “Let’s have trial by combat,” as a reason for inquiry.”
Oh hell! Some “black power” man in London is desperately seeking contact with the racist Knoxious One to discuss the “attack on free speech” or some such shite.
The technology companies are not governed by the freedom of speech laws. They are not government.
They reserve the right to cancel your account at will.
This from the man who wants the blogmaster to censor us black Bajans if we use our free speech to call the same racist Johnnie Knoxious a “rhassole” asshole on BU, which he clearly is and complained incessantly of “threats” when I asked him why, if he is so miserable, he doesn’t just curl up and die!
Now he wants the world’s biggest cyberbully and criminal instigator of murderous riots to have access to social media to incite another riot on the 17th.
P.S. One is not allowed to cry,”Fire” in a crowded theatre either. Free speech had its limits.

“Those who made their way to the grounds of the U.S. Capitol on Wednesday hail from at least 36 states, along with the District of Columbia and Canada, according to a Washington Post list of over 100 people identified as being on the scene of the Capitol. Their professions touch nearly every facet of American society: lawyers, local lawmakers, real estate agents, law enforcement officers, military veterans, construction workers, hair stylists and nurses. Among the crowd were devout Christians who highlighted Bible verses, adherents of the QAnon conspiracy theory and members of documented hate groups, including white nationalist organizations and militant right-wing organizations, such as the Proud Boys.
The list is just a limited cross section of the thousands of people who descended upon the area, yet some striking commonalities are hard to ignore. Almost all on the list whose race could be readily identified are White. Most are men, yet about one in six were women — also almost all White.”

@peterlawrencethompson January 11, 2021 7:58 AM “I am rather enjoying John Knox’s unhinged whining…detached from facts and reality…his psychotic delusions.”
i don’t believe that John is unhinged, detached from facts and reality nor do I believe he is psychotic.
I believe that John knows exactly what he is doing.
I believe that John is racist. Even while racism is evil is is NOT a mental illness.
When I was a little kid the man directly across the street from us, and the “street” was less than 20 feet wide, was mentally ill, multiple admissions to the psychiatric hospital. But he was not “mad” every single day. He lived alone and during the times he was well he went to work, did his shopping and housekeeping as normal. He did not threaten nor insult the neighbors, nor do anything to scare the little children. Most of the time in fact he was a very nice man.
Another man 3 houses away the same thing. In between his episodes of mental illness he was a good husband, father, neighbor and an excellent craftsman who worked hard to raise his children. Yes, sometime he was ill and had to be admitted to the psychiatric hospital, but most days he was well and carried out his responsibilities.
Our parents told us simply to leave the mentally ill people alone. Do not tease them. The mentally ill also left us alone too. Most mentally ill people in fact turn on themselves when they are ill. They typically do NOT turn on others.
John does not behave anything like these good men
John spouts his evil everyday.
He is not mad.
He is bad.
And so is GP and moneybrain and Critical Analyzer.

I realise just how fragile most folks on here are so decided to do them a favour and present a realist’s point of view so that if and when things start going south people won’t collapse in a heap but will have been toughened up by me to face the facts.
I view it as a civic duty and it makes me feel good to know I am doing my small part..

There are a number of different forces battling for control of our hearts and minds. China is challenging our form of liberal democracy; nationalism has replaced traditional conservatism, and social media bosses are in effect controlling what we are allowed to say and how we say it.
Two of Voltaire’s sayings come to mind. To paraphrase: Those who can make you believe in absurdities can also make you commit atrocities and, although I disagree with what you say, I will defend to death your right to say it.
It is the old authoritarian gradualist approach. We attack X, because everybody dislikes X; then we attack Y, because most people dislike Y; then when it comes to Z, it does not matter what people say.
We had the same thing in the UK under Tony Blair. First we impose court orders for anti-social behaviour, but to disobey a court order then it becomes criminal. In short, we are now criminalising anti social behaviour.
I will give you an example of two ridiculous criminal offences in the UK. If a young man is chatting up a young woman and tells her he was what he was not ie a prince, and the lady falls for it, it is an offence.
Or, if you make false claims of jobs, qualifications etc on the internet you have committed a prima facie offence. Now we have every institution, including American social media, controlling our social manners; to ignore or disobey is to be banned.
Facebook, Twitter, etc have more power than nation states and must be stopped.
@John January 11, 2021 3:55 PM “I realise just how fragile most folks on here are.”
No we are NOT fragile. If we were fragile we would not have survived in a society with the likes of you. We are strong enough and resilient enough to survive you. And we will survive your children and grandchildren.
And we will continue to call out evil wherever we see it.

“I received a positive test result for COVID-19, and am home resting at this time. While I am experiencing mild, cold-like symptoms, I remain in good spirits and will continue to work on behalf of my constituents,” Coleman said in a press release.
Coleman “believes she was exposed during protective isolation in the U.S. Capitol building as a result of insurrectionist riots. As reported by multiple news outlets, a number of members within the space ignored instructions to wear masks,” the press release said.
The riots came as lawmakers were certifying the election results inside the Capitol building. Trump supporters who had just attended a rally where the president spoke and urged them to march on the Capitol stormed the building, scaling walls and shattering windows to enter the halls.
Five people died during the riots, including a Capitol police officer as well as a Trump supporter who was shot by law enforcement while inside the building.
In another twist, Coleman had already received a shot of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine.
She called on Wednesday for the impeachment of President Trump for his role in riling up his supporters to march on the Capitol.”
Worth a listen today.

If freedom of speech is being attacked then the Constitution is being attacked.
All members of the legislative, executive and judiciary are all sworn to uphold the constitution.
Do you realise that members of Big Tech may find themselves charged as the insurrectionists?
I think that ‘s what might happen!!
The Executive Order from 2018 will give Trump the authority to seize their assets!!
This is going to be fun to watch.
People naturally associate Insurrection with riots, but look at the definition of insurrection!!
Hear from last week’s terrorist attack on the U.S. Congress
“It was the single worst personal decision of my life,” Bradley Rukstales, CEO of a Chicago-area data analytics company, wrote in a public statement. Rukstales was fired from his job and faces two federal charges stemming from his actions inside the Capitol.

“At least 15 people who attended the rally have been fired or suspended from their jobs, or preemptively resigned amid growing outrage, according to a Post tally. One of the fired is 41-year-old laborer Doug Jensen of Des Moines, who is facing federal charges after he was captured in photos and videos leading rioters up a staircase as a police officer attempted to hold the crowd back. Jensen’s boss, Dick Felice, who owns Forrest & Associate Masonry, said he terminated Jensen’s employment. “He committed a crime as far as I’m concerned,” Felice said. Jensen could not be reached for comment.”

Back in the 2018 Supreme Court case Masterpiece Cakeshop v Colorado Civil Rights Commission, the Supreme Court ruled by a margin of 7-2 that a private sector company like Masterpiece Cakeshop should be free to refuse services to same-sex couples simply because they disagreed with same-sex relationships. Who would have guessed that this ruling would provide an ironclad precedent for private sector company likeTwitter for their decision to deny services to the Asshole in Chief, simply because they disagree with sending a fascist mob against elected legislators to overturn a legal democratic election.

The Army is investigating a military psychological warfare specialist over her role in last week’s domestic assault on the U.S. Capitol after she led more than 100 people to the deadly riot, according to a report.
Officials said Emily Rainey had already resigned her commission at Fort Bragg in North Carolina, where investigators were reviewing the Army captain’s involvement in the melee that left five people including an officer from the Capitol Police dead.

Shame on you. Cake Shop and Facebook or Twitter refusing your business is different as the cake shop is not a monopoly so they had options. Monopolies need to be treated differently and blocked from de-platforming unless they break a law and be subjected to pay the person large sums of money if they do.
When the censorship starts where will it stop. Do you known millions have been de-platformed from Facebook and Twitter for being a member or merely being associated with groups.
An example is Facebook group where people would simply post their experiences and employees, volunteers and contractors (e.g. videographers, technicians, etc.) associated with the group were all de-platformed.
You are a contractor. Do you want these monopolies e.g. Flow disrupting your business because you did a job for someone they don’t like e.g. a competitor. You can’t stand Trump. Some people can’t stand you. I am sure the victimization has happened to you and you hated it.
Free Speech is not easy especially when someone says things you can’t stand but that is only thing preventing the rise of totalitarianism in any form i.e. leftism, rightism, fascism, etc. Right now we are seeing the rise of some sort of totalitarianism.

“In a 7–2 decision, the Court ruled on narrow grounds that the Commission did not employ religious neutrality, violating Masterpiece owner Jack Phillips’ rights to free exercise, and reversed the Commission’s decision.”
Tell us what Twitter’s religion is?
Majority opinion
The Court issued its ruling on June 4, 2018, ordering a reversal of the decision made by the Colorado Civil Rights Commission. The majority opinion was written by Justice Anthony Kennedy, and joined by Chief Justice John Roberts, and Justices Samuel Alito, Stephen Breyer, Elena Kagan and Neil Gorsuch. The opinion stated that although a baker, in his capacity as the owner of a business serving the public, “might have his right to the free exercise of his religion limited by generally applicable laws”, a State decision in an adjudication “in which religious hostility on the part of the State itself” is a factor violating the “State’s obligation of religious neutrality” under the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment to the Constitution.[27][original research?] Kennedy’s opinion stated that the Commission’s review of Phillips’ case exhibited hostility towards his religious views. The Commission compared Phillips’ religious beliefs to defense of slavery or the Holocaust. Kennedy found such comparisons “inappropriate for a Commission charged with the solemn responsibility of fair and neutral enforcement of Colorado’s anti-discrimination law”.[28] Kennedy’s opinion also cited the three exemptions the commission previously granted for the non-discrimination law arising from the William Jack complaints. The opinion also noted differences in handling previous exemptions as indicative of Commission hostility towards religious belief, rather than maintaining neutrality.[29] Kennedy’s opinion noted that he may have been inclined to rule in favor of the Commission if they had remained religiously neutral in their evaluation.[30]
Twitter claims two tweets incite violence.
On is that Trump Tweeted he would not be going to the inauguration of the new administration on 2th.
The other is even more ridiculous.
If you look at the timeline, the Capitol was being attacked BEFORE Trump even ended speaking!!!
So the speech they have to admit did not incite violence, just the two tweets!!
Twitter does not have a legal leg to stand on!!
