If the late great Gladston Holder were alive he would take the opportunity to remind us that it does not matter who is elected to the White House, it the wealthiest families in the USA where the power is located- the Vanderbilts, Rockefellers et al. That said many will agree party colours aside, Trump’s legacy will be remembered as being one of the most bigoted and divisive.

Let it be no secret this blogmaster cannot wait to see the back of the man. He has disgraced the office of president of the USA and by extension the human race.

  2. DPD,

    Bloody and bold!

That sounds like an Alice Cooper portrayal. Cool!

This is the Looney Toons version of Alice in Wonderland, after all.

We’ve got a Donald, Daffy Duck, Humpty Dumpty blend.

We’ve got Elmer Fuddy Duddy Joe Biden.

Bugs Bunny makes a brief appearance in typical Bugs Bunny style. CANNOT mess with Bugs Bunny. So….

We’ve got three Trumpeteer Musketeer type black honorary White Rabbits of the KKK kind fierce LOYALISTS to serve the would be king Donald.

We’ve got the Humpty Dumpty would be king’s dead jackasses for horses being riden by the would be king’s ghouls or dead men. That represents the legal team and the law suits.

I’m seeing the muppet critics in the balcony giving commentary on the court cases and Kermit the Roving Reporter from Sesame Street doing his report. Bugs Bunny returns as the judge.

We got Alice’s Mad Tea Party / Lunch at High Noon – The Three Trumpeteers served up by a Chinese Take Out Ninja Crew. CHOP CHOP BANG like the muppet Swedish chef.

So a Gary Cooper/ Alice Cooper character blend would be brilliant!

A “duel” at High Noon on January 20th!

The episode ends with 007 Xi sliding his Bond gadget from his top pocket. A pair of CHOPSTICKS.

And the Bajan Cheshire Cat, that’s me, only having the last laugh a la Mighty Charmer ordinary class style.

I think I watched too much of Shelley Duvall’s Faerie Tale Theatre when I was young.

  3. Turns out John’s shoddy COVID statistical analysis was not done by the CDC. I forgot that Trump took that away from them.

It also turns out that Sweden after abandoning their “COVID STRATEGY” in the face of riding cases and deaths is now looking to find a scape goat. Now blaming a particular advisor for this deadly strategy much touted by the BU right-wing loony contingent.

So…. Boris Johnson was a faster learner. And fastest learner of all – Mia Amour Mottley of 30 zero fame!

And the slowest learner of all – Donald JOHN Trump of DOWN TO ZERO fame! And JOHN KNOX of the 50:0 hoax.

    Two Johns full of shit!

Eh! Really… 35,000 you say. Why didnt the fraudsters add 50,000 per Dem? 35K is such an odd number … afterall, if you can stupidly hack PAPER based BALLOT systems to add extra votes like that why go small!

Mr Fellow, even parrots need to be weaned from their mad ramblings… and YOU accuse Joe Biden of having dementia! SMH.

The kindest explanation for your absolutely insanely stupid posts is that you are suffering from some type of trump induced schizophrenia like that old movie ‘Sybil’ … multiple personality issues here at will.

So it’s quite interesting that you are labeling the new POTUS as losing his mind.

Carry on smartly … you are giving Polly the parrot a bad name tho.

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I have an ancestor who was a mason and spent Christmas Day 1676 in stocks for building a wall in the Burying Ground by St. Philip’s church.

It was a Holy Day … what we call nowadays a holiday!!

The JP had the Church warden inflict the punishment.

Quakers treat everyday the same from what I have seen.

Since in 1676 Puritans controlled the C of E, I would say your understanding of Puritans may be off.

Of course by 1676 they could have mellowed.

  18. Are you suggesting the Puritans recognised Xmas? Was it not their argument that since the Bible did not mention the word, then it was not religious?

  19. Sufferings of H. Griffith and W. Fortescue.

It happened that on the 25th of December, the Day called Christmas-day, Herbert Griffith and William Fortescue, standing to inspect some Workmen employed about the Wall of a Burying-place, were observed by William Goodall, a Justice of the Peace, as he passed by; who in much Anger called to those who were with him, saying, Is there no Constable here? Lay hold on these Rogues: Take away the Fellow’s Tools. Accordingly the Priest’s Clerk being present, took away the Tools, and detained them from the Owner many Weeks. Herbert Griffith desired the Justice to hear him a few Words, but he, full of Fury, cried out, Drag the old Rogue along; away with them all to the Stocks. Some People present said, Sir, pray pity that aged honest Man: But the Justice replied, I care neither for his Age nor his Honesty. Then one Thomas Saunders, a very rude Person, said, Sir, these Quakers will not put their Legs into the Stocks. The Justice replied, Down with ’em, drag them in. Whereupon the said Saunders gave the ancient Man a Blow on the Breast, and struck up his Heels with such Violence, that his Head came first to the Ground; and then he threw down William Fortescue, who falling on a Stone, cut his Elbow that it bled; and then they dragged in William Ashby the Mason, and his Man, and locked them in the Stocks about three Hours.

After which the said Richard Goodal and Richard Noke made a Mittimus to send them to Goal, directing it from Constable to Constable, with a rude Company to guard them, as if they had been Murderers. The Constable to whose Charge they were first committed was very uncivil, and would not suffer the ancient Man to ride his own Horse; but other Constables were more moderate, and the last of them said, They were honest Men, and directed them to go themselves to the Town, and he would send one to meet them there To-morrow, which he did accordingly; and they were committed to the Common Goal, where they remained four Weeks.

After which, some Neighbours engaging for their Appearance at the next Quarter Sessions, they were permitted to go Home. On the 12th of the First Month following, they appeared at the Sessions, where, by Means of one John Witham, an officious Justice, then Chairman, they were recommitted to Prison, (except the Mason’s Servant, who, being no Quaker, was discharged) where they lay about six Weeks, till the General Sessions on the 24th of the Second Month 1677: at which Time the Governour gave them Liberty upon Promise of appearing at the next General Sessions, which was about the 24th of the Ninth Month following; at which Time they were tried by a Jury, who acquitted Herbert and Fortescue, but found William Ashby, the Mason, guilty of working on that Day, for which he was fined 500lb. of Sugar, and the other two were cleared by Proclamation. This so displeased some of the Justices, that they prevailed with the rest to commit them to Prison a third Time, and the Verdict was set aside.

    A Juries Verdict set aside.

On the 10th of the Tenth Month they were brought again to Trial on a fresh Indictment; when Justice Goodal himself came off the Bench to give Evidence, and swore that He saw the said Herbert and Fortescue at Work: But when the Foreman of the Jury asked him, Whether they had in their Hands any Tool, either Hammer or Trowel? he was fore’d to explain himself by saying, that as they were overseeing the Work, they were at Work. This not satisfying the Jury, they were the second Time acquitted and discharged. This Instance shews the great Partiality with which some of the Justices acted, and how forward they were to exercise their Authority against the Quakers, even beyond what the Laws required of them.

  21. Notice how the day and month are numbered.

1st month was March, not January!!

    Different calendars.

    Julian calendar considered Roman Catholic.

So any will or deed or document of the period where this apparently weird numbering of days is seen was almost certainly written by a Quaker for a Quaker.

That’s one of the ways of identifying who was a Quaker back then.

  22. “Some Friends are non-Sabbatarians, holding that “every day is the Lord’s day,” and that what should be done on a First Day should be done every day of the week, although Meeting for Worship is usually held on a First Day, after the advice first issued by elders in 1656.[120]”

What about the 1647 Canterbury insurrections which were over the celebration of Xmas? Did that not follow the directory of public worship, which outlawed Xmas?
Did Quakers support the Puritans or the rebels, the Roundheads and Cavaliers? Was this not at the root of the settling of Barbados, and eventually, the introduction of slavery?

George Fox was born in 1624.

Barbados was settled in 1626/7, depends on the calendar you prefer!!

No Quakers existed when Barbados was settled, but Puritans did!!

Quakers appear in 1647/8, after the first English Civil War.

So they didn’t support either nor were they involved in the settlement of Barbados.

Their ministry was among those afflicted by the violence of the Civil War.

That’s why many who became Quakers were former soldiers and why you will find Quakers who have military rank even though people will say Quakers are pacifists!

This of course means that many Quakers were Roundheads or Cavaliers … atleast at one time, perhaps even after they became convinced Quakers!!

  27. Puritans settled Barbados.

They settled St. Christopher before they settled Barbados.

The purpose of St. Christopher was as a way station for their colony in New England.

St. Christopher was destroyed by a hurricane the year after it was settled and the Puritans would have had to compete against the French and Caribs.

I say Barbados was settled because of its location further south out at the edge of the Hurricane paths.

Coriolis force and all that … Physics determined its settlement!!!

Also, no competition as the Spanish had removed all indigenous peoples and there were no French.

  28. «The President Sang Amazing Grace»

«Obama Sings ‘Amazing Grace’ During Pinckney Eulogy»

  29. St. Christopher is the Patron Saint of Travelers.

A fitting name as a “safe harbour” which did not turn out to be so safe, for the 10’s of thousands of Puritans who left England for New England once it became established.

Most if not all of the Puritans in the “Great Puritan Migration” passed through St. Kitts or Barbados on their way to New England and Virginia.

  30. @ Quaker John

Let me repeat it slowly. The English Civil War was at the heart of the settling of Barbados, not its discovery. But it was that war, between the Roundheads and Cavaliers, which led to the settling of Barbados, which eventually led to the compulsory importation of African labourers, ie slaves.
Did the Quakers support the Roundheads or Cavaliers during the civil war? Were they supporters of the Puritans? By the way, are you a practising Quaker or just someone who is keen on Quaker history?

  31. Did you know the ship carrying Oliver Cromwell to New England, was turned back in the Thames because the authorities realised the country’s wealth and all of the skills and educated people were leaving.

  32. Some Puritans who returned to fight in the English Civil War became Quakers from the late 1640’s.

The Puritans gained control of the C of E after the Civil War.

They then persecuted the Quakers as they themselves had been persecuted by the C of E!!

Quakers leaving England could not go to some puritan colonies in New England.

    Many went to Virginia.

Some stayed in Barbados and St. Kitts and other islands like Tortola and Bermuda.

But the persecution did not stop them going to New England.

Four were executed in Boston, including one from Barbados, William Leddra.

Have you thought of politics? Mottley will enjoy having you in her party of mutts.

  34. John;

Here’s your quote from yesterday’s “hearing”
“Had you paid attention to the evidence presented today, you would have discovered that it is alleged the 35,000 votes were ADDED to every Democrat in Arizona, including the Sheriff.”.

Assuming that you understand and speak truthfully and without obfuscation, you seem to be alleging / suggesting that in the Arizona Senate race where Kelly, the Democrat, got around 1.76 million votes, as originally counted by machine and later verified by recounts of paper ballots, He should actually only have got 1,760,000 – 35,000 = 1,725,000 real votes. The recount said not so he got 1,760,000 ! In addition, since you say that the same 35,000 votes would have been added to every Democrat in Arizona, the Sheriff and every Democrat on the ballot should also have 35,000 votes deducted from their count to get their true vote count. What happened with the ballots with those multiples of 35,000 votes. They should show up as a multiple of 35,000 in the total of every Democrat on the ballot. But perhaps the fraud took place at the time of voting on individual machines not at counting per se.

GP saw your error and rushed in to bat for you as he could not allow you to stain HC’s honor with such a blatant error and by a fellow Barbados Scholar in Maths, to boot. He trumpeted “IF HE (dpD) HAD LISTENED TO THE HEARING YESTERDAY, HE MIGHT HAVE LEARNED, IF HE WAS ABLE TO COMPREHEND, THAT THE BALLOT COUNTING MACHINES DO NOT COUNT THE PAPER BALLOTS AS INDIVIDUAL BALLOTS, BUT THAT THE MACHINES CAN BE PROGRAAMED TO WEIGHT SELECTED BALLOTS. IN SO DOING 35, OOO VOTES OR ANY OTHER NUMBER OF VOTES COULD BE ADDED TO TOM DICK OR HARRY.”
This is also patently false. Firstly the fanciful unproven computer algorithm does not “weigh” selected ballots. It probably merely analyses a sample of ballots (selected by the savvy Computer operator) and then modifies x number of ballots votes (must be an integer) to the sum for the candidate flagged. Note that the ballots contain information for the Presidential contest as well as the down-ballot contests so the algorithm should also remove 35,000 or whatever number is chosen from the total for each Democrat on the ballot. Seems too cumbersome to me. The paper ballots exist and are presumably in safe keeping. The loony system you and GP seem to be championing is replete with flaws and fraud. It can’t work as explained.

    Come again!

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

I am not a practicing Quaker.

I know of none in Barbados at the moment!!

How could the Quakers be involved in the first English Civil War which started in 1641?

    They did not even exist?

In 1641 George Fox was only 17!!!

The best that could be said is that the suffering of the first English Civil War may have prompted George Fox to seek spiritual answers which he found.

Answers to the spiritual questions of others who fought or suffered in the first English Civil war were then answered through him.

Within the Quakers of the time could be found both Roundheads and Cavaliers.

The Quaker networks did build Barbados after 1650 as more and more became convinced.

  36. Let me say this even slower!!!

The Portuguese are supposed to have been the first Europeans to discover Barbados and that was long before Puritans and Roundheads and Cavaliers were even invented.

  37. And even slower ….

Barbados was settled from England in 1626/7, long before the Quakers existed!!

  45. You never ask a straight question.

You always have to qualify it when I respond, latest example, discovery vs settlement.
