JOE BIDEN, SO-CALLED ‘PROGRESSIVES’ AND THE REARRANGEMENT OF THE POLITICAL LANDSCAPE

Submitted by Pachamama

As the coalition of forces gather with their vested interests of displace the American fascist dictator, Donald Trump, on a civil warlike political battlefield, it is becoming quite clear that people who call themselves ‘progressives’ will only awake to the machinations, political tricks, being conjured and to the tectonic shifts under the battlefield when it is far too late. Such a re-imagining of American politics, as neoliberalism was the remixing of economic policies, must of necessity, leave ‘progressives’ out in the cold.

We are estimating that this Democratic-led coalition which is likely to emerge from a possible victory will lurch much further rightward than progressives are generally imagining. For Joe Biden is merely running as a Democrat but intends to rule as a Republican. This is all he has known all his life. Being a conservative Democrat means being a Republican. Same as Obama, there are few differences between factions within the duopoly. Biden has never been known to instinctively done anything progressive in his whole life. Above all, politics is about slicing and dicing as an acceptable method of gaining power, not being a fountain of virtue. Not interfering with the hideous structural infirmities on which the country has been built. This is representative of Joe Biden to the bone!

Therefore, it would be irrational to expect a man like Biden to approach, for example, the misanthropically inspired symbology represented by the ‘Star Spangle Banner’, the national anthem, which glorifies slavery in one of its verses. Or revisit the 13th Amendment of the constitution which still legalizes slavery for people in America’s dungeons, 80% of whom are of colour. Need we go on?

Then, the question which progressives will never get answered is – how could he ‘Build Back Better’ on such a flawed foundation? All Biden really wants to do is to get back to how things were before Donald J. Trump was thrown up by the political culture as if those represented halcyon days for Afrikan-Americans, supposedly his most dependable bloc. That’s all!

But, who are these people generally referred to as ‘progressives’? Well, they could be any motley bunch of political gradations from the far-right to the far-left and in-between. To the far-right they may include Republicans who support the logic of climate change and even never-Trumpers. To the far-left they may be communists, antifascists, socialists or even Trotskyists influenced by the lesser of two evils logic.

In this scenario, Joe Biden would, in effect, be the ‘unwitting’ savior of the Republican Party which is likely to be devastated by a massive defeat, if current polling holds true and in the event Trump is unable to complete that well-planned dastardly act currently underway. Should Biden be buoyed by the winds of a fierce national and overwhelming determination which forces Trump into having no other choice but to leave the White House, even to the point of duress if deemed necessary he saves the Republican Party. In so doing, he would be serving the hordes of Republicans seeking asylum within the Democratic Party as a way of making sure the indispensable other half of the American political duopoly survives Trumpism – the Republican Party.

When we look back at the presidency of Trump, in this scenario, it might appear as though a level of master planning, by hidden hands, paved the way for Biden. He could have the prefect landing to enable him to jettison feckless progressive operating under the assumption that this Democratic Party’s ‘donkey’ will take them somewhere. In addition, Biden could have a highly conservative Supreme Court; a Senate which could be Democratic led but more than willing to serve his less than obvious conservative agenda and a House of Representatives acting likewise with muted or sporadic objections from its progressive caucus.

In these circumstances, the LGBTQ identity politicos, who played such an enormous role during the Obama administration, would not be able to co-exist with the Republican elements within the Biden Coalition, absent the few Log Cabin Republicans. If Biden is faced with a choice between these political forces, there is little doubt that he will go with his new-found friends for the fear about defections of the Republicans may cause too much imbalance within his coalition. He will seek to equalize that action by resting on the logic that the LGBTQ forces generally have nowhere else to go.

The same thinking holds true for Afrikan-Americans, Hispanics, and other progressives who will have nowhere to go notwithstanding the presence of a fledgling Green Party with a presidential candidate, Howie Hawkins, and up to maybe a 100 other people seeking the presidency. Defections of progressives are likely to be deemed as merely a temporary setback. Afrikan-Americans should not expect this reformulation of political forces within neoliberal capitalism will deliver any of Biden’s promises about ‘Building Back Better’ and so on. Nothing will happen but talk, until after the election when the drift to the right becomes public. Observers however, can see what a Biden administration will look like right now by the examination of his teams of advisers. To us such expectations are the equivalent of asking a dead man to change his will and expecting it to happen.

One good thing about Biden is that he has dared to locate himself as it to remove the scab from the old festering wounds making America the fascist state it might have always been and/or to which it has now degenerated for all to see. Of course, he was well assisted by the ongoing demonstrations throughout the country and being a politician there was a need for a response that made sense in order to garner the votes of Afrikan-Americans, women, progressives, young people etc.

In some ways Biden has been sheltered by Whiteness and a hyper focus in the country on what is wrongly seen as a cultural anomaly, the Trump presidency. However, the deeper truth is that Biden will never fix, or even start to fix, in eight (8) years, what was consolidated over four centuries.

Guided by history, only the total and complete destruction of American empire can satisfactorily settle these deeply divisive issues, correct all the fundamental social problems that have been termed ‘original sins’. Some contend that this fatal option maybe better that Biden’s return to an abnormal normalcy. Progressives should have long recognized the existential forces at work and found ways to insert someone more able to deal the rebuilding that has to happen and therefore avoid this Biden misdirection.

No contest – lying men, of which you, John, are the most lying I have ever encountered. You have already told at least one for the morning along with posting what are certain to be misleading videos.

You are second only to Donald and his minions in the US and are, without a doubt, the most lying man in Barbados. Every damn day every chance you get you lie, lie, lie.

Each of them is attacked for asking uncomfortable but legitimate questions that the BRAWLER-IN-CHIEF and his minions have no answer that could fool a goat.

Misogynistic men believe women should be respectful even when they aren’t.

@David, if the world of current politics was so predictable then we could accept Murdock’s prognostications and those from the thousands of others like him of very successful folks who proclaim a POTUS defeat; this Trump virtual reality world is ABSOLUTELY NOT that, however!

We are in a space where the leader of the powerful US military acts like the Guthrie’ “crazed uncle” and actually repeats ABSURD claims like the one that the same US military – which he now leads – did not actually kill Osama bin Laden.

The POTUS tells the world “I’ll put it out there. People can decide themselves.”

No crazed uncle Don or uncle Johnnie who incites such illogical folly for political gain should be leading ANY nation … yet this one does with the support of over 60 million people.

So predictions and the polls in this man’s wild world are like stars in the night … they do offer a clear
direction from on-high in the darkness but come the light of day and u see the actual obstacles (Q conspiracies, militia uprisings, ballot shenanigans, deliberate presidential falsehoods, Guiliana inspired Russia subterfuge, another Black police or boogaloo caused death leading to civil unrest etc) …. then the way forward is not so clear.

I’ll get excited about predictions and such on Nov 8 or thereabouts of the deadline for the final tallies on all ballots … well unless there is that landslide we hear so much about, that is, and then Nov 3 is my relief date!

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    Would not surprise me.

I like the betting odds where people have to put their money where their mouths are and the ocular proof of a Trump Rally organised at a moment’s notice.

Biden’s “comportment”/”dementia” is for me the third clincher.

His son’s foibles seal the deal for me.

Any one who is willing to even associate themselves with Biden as a running mate is for me, just like him and his son.

… and that’s before I even look at Trump’s record.

… or the Democrat promotion of Antifa, BLM and shutdowns.

I don’t waste time on the media polls.

What would be surprising to me if Trump does not win and once more show up the biased media polls.

Given the evidence I look at it might even be in a landslide.

The POTUS ‘my healthcare plan is ready because it’s so easy to repeal and replace that bad Obamacare’ is still TWO weeks away, isn’t it!

Building the wall end to end was going to happen quickly and strongly, of course … but heh the circuit court just ruled that you cant take funds from other military construction projects and budget for that border wall because that’s illegal… no more walling… now off to SCOTUS!

So what if WarpSpeed was always destined to produce a vaccine and have it ready for distribution by early 2021 or Decenber possibly … this man exists to say WHATEVER he wants to … and lots of people are happy and proud to be associated with that.

We have NEVER seen so many life-long party supporters and particularly those who were standout standard bearers repudiate their party leader as evidenced in US (we had ours in Bim too) but yet this man prevails….

The choice between Trump.and Biden for blacks is one of who serves their interest best
So far Biden has not offered the blacks anything of substantial relevance
It is as if Biden has return to the same old play book of offerings that in his 46 years in office has done nothing to help the black community pull themselves out of the economic doldrums
Furthermore blacks have been openly saying that Biden in 1997 aligned himself with racist laws that would put blackmen in prison for small crimes
Yesterday a story by NBC news highlighted one such person who was sent to prison for life for stealing a clippers
However after 20 years in prison he was pardoned
These are the issues which Biden must overcome before blacks are comfortable voting for him
The liberal media knows that this election can turn on its head in a minute giving Trump momentum that he has lost
Now with the story of Trump offering over a trillion dollars towards the black Community and many black organisations endorsing the offer
It makes for wonder how will Biden step up and offer things which would be of help to the black community

“Piss” and “ass” are also found in the Bible. Not sure about bitch but it is in the dictionary as a female dog.

As you pretend not to know, it is the inappropriate use of the words that is the problem. And also the TRUTHFULNESS of the words.

In the Bible, “brawling woman” is not a complimentary term. Neither do YOU use it to compliment. You use it to dismiss the women and their legitimate challenges to your lying, brawling idol. Furthermore, you lie when you apply those words to those women.

Common tactic used by men to put women in what they wish to be their place. And what makes it worse in this case, BLACK women who have legitimate arguments.

Men talk over a woman and when she raises her voice to be heard she is labelled as “brawling” and they resort to quoting the woman-hating Bible writers. When I realised that, I stopped giving a damn and determined to give as good as I get.
So I do not give a rat’s botsy what ANY man thinks. I am not looking for a stupid ass husband who expects a woman to fit into his stupid ass gender box.

Neither you nor your toothless attack dog, Hal Austin can put me in what you would like to be my place.

Anyone can see my point above except that dishonest old bore who holds grudges and chooses sides in an argument of substance based on who has previously “insulted” him.

  • Back to Ice Cube, whatever he gets up to will have no effect on the outcome of the election but when I listened to his CNN interview, he said something that I had heard before viz. “that he was not interested in helping minorities but American Descendants of Slavery”.

For those who may not know there is a fledging black organization called “American Descendants of Slavery” or ADOS. Its primary goal is to obtain reparations; set asides and all benefits etc. for as the name implies all who fall under the umbrella of ADOS. Basically, it would deny any minority that didn’t fit that category any opportunities that have been established to level the playing field for minorities. e.g. any reparations would only be for blacks who fit that description as they have said they were enslaved; they went through Reconstruction, convict leasing; Jim Crow; Lynching etc. it argues why should newly arrived Blacks benefit from the suffering of their ancestors. This group is also opposed to immigration as it believes that American born blacks are displaced by other immigrants to their detriment and that is partly to blame for the widespread poverty in the Black community.

I believe we will hear much more about this organisation in the future, in the meanwhile just follow the link

@Mr Analyzer is it your (and other trumpets) contention that the illicit, insider-conflicted, money grabbing alleged corruption by Hunter Biden was 1) supported by his father as VP, 2) affected US Govt policy and 3) will continue to affect a Biden admin???

If this gent has done illegal stuff then he should be handled as aggressively under the law as any other high profile person would be, that’s clear.

So for the record of reality!

*Obama has already endorsed Biden despite the allegations and has previously stumped on the campaign for him.

**More importantly this is a straight up binary decision … the accusations against the Biden option PALE CONSIDERABLY COMPARED to those against the Trump option.

The remarkable and NOTICABLE thing about those 47 years mentioned often re Biden is that there are NO LEGACY accusations of corrupt business or govt practices (his plagiarism is irrelevant in this context) … so this activity MUST be placed in the context of his SON’s stained character.

And again compared with the ‘null’ option Trump, the legacy of corrupt business practices, repeated lies and narcissistic self interest actions many which are prima facie illegal and his alleged carefully organized criminal family enterprise there is no way this man should be elected.

If Biden is flawed based on Hunter’s sins then Trump would have to be the devil incarnate based on all his family sins…. so let’s chant together:

Hunter is bad news for Biden … Trump and the Trumps are worst news for Trump !

How it might very well end up is Joe being the mastermind and Hunter the front man. The one certain thing is the banking and financials always point the way since they are impossible to hide and once they find the first thread and start pulling, the whole scheme starts unraveling, just look at Donville.

What is much more concerning to me is how so much Twitter, Facebook and other social media are trying so hard to control and block posts and user accounts and the Biden campaign being so silent. This is the same thing social media did with thier blocking of all posts related to all credible cheap and proven COVID treatments.

Obama endorsing him is one thing when you can claim you don’t know. Now allegations backed by some sort of evidence are publicly made, his reputation and legacy is now at stake so he has to re-evaluate and decide if he is going to personally go on the campaign trail and hitch his wagon to Biden at the risk of tarnishing his legacy as the first back president.

This week is going to be an extremely interesting week in history and I suspect one for the record books.

U.S. intelligence agencies warned the White House last year that President Trump’s personal lawyer Rudolph W. Giuliani was the target of an influence operation by Russian intelligence, according to four former officials familiar with the matter.

The warnings were based on multiple sources, including intercepted communications, that showed Giuliani was interacting with people tied to Russian intelligence during a December 2019 trip to Ukraine, where he was gathering information that he thought would expose corrupt acts by former vice president Joe Biden and his son Hunter

There is a reason that these “communications” were released by the NY Post and not the Wall Street Journal and although both are owned by Murdoch one professes to have higher journalistic standards. Bottom line one should always check the provenance of this latest release, was there ever a computer repair man? Did the Russians hack someone’s computer and feed it onto a hard drive? Is any of it true?

If POTUS wins there will be a massive upheaval in the REPUBLICAN party leadership because despite their political motivations they KNOW this man is bad for the long term health of their kids and grandkids and they will push back HARD (finally) against his very unhinged new acts…. in turn he will be going hard at folks like Sasse, McConnell, Collins (if she wins) … so it will be fireworks… if he loses, well then he will likely be the second in recent times president to be pardoned from jail!

    I gone.

The initial arguments around Enoch Powell’s speech were not as clear cut as they are now. In October 1968, there was a massive debate at the old West Indian Student Centre in Earls Court, about what Powell meant.
One leading Caribbean QC even argued that Powell did not mean black students, that he meant the London Transport workers and factory labourers.
They actually believed that. Also, Powell’s biggest supporters were the trade unionists, in particular the Transport and General Workers Union and the dockers. (When the docks closed the dockers became black cab drivers, thus the history of black cabs not carrying black people).
By the way, some silly man in light of this experience came on BU and manufactured some claim that I was an advocate of the multicultural experiment, an experiment that has consistently failed Caribbean people.
As we now have black Trump supporters, by the 1980s, we had a number of West Indian Tories, backing Margaret Thatcher. The One Nation Tories were bigger critics of Powell than the Labour party. It was Heath that drove him out of the party.

Going back to the 1991 Senate Hearings where Clarence Thomas (who’s favourite porn star that he related to and wanted to emulate with his female staff was “long dong silver”)

John Biden chairing hearing made the mistake of changing the order when requested by GOP and let Thomas kick off instead of Hill.

Here is his opening statement where he denies he was a pervert as not many would admit it and claims it was a lynching because he was a black man.

GOP attacked the woman victim in a manner that would be dismissed as victim blaming nowadays and accused her of fantasising her own erotic thoughts which an expert said was a real condition

The hearings rocked US Culture and gave birth to many tropes on TV and also empowered women to stand up for themselves against unwanted overtures and kickstarted a rise in women running for politics and also sexual harassment claims being made in work environment (by women against men)

Anita Hill said the claims against Kavanaugh were similar to hers

John’s interaction with ordinary folk would be field hands in the plantation yard or the domestic help, some of his posts still reference current conversations with some of the retired workers.

One of his relatives Marjorie Phillips owned a vehicle with registration number X2 which indicates that it was the second car licensed in Christ Church, it was still around when I was knee high to a cabbage. Among the family holdings were Adams Castle and Kingsland/Wotton plantations, the land on which Sheraton mall sits was part of Adams Castle and last time I visited part of Adams Castle was being developed to house residential homes. I think the land where Elizabeth Park is located was also part of Adams castle and we have read of the legal entanglements surrounding Kingsland et al.

I see people’s are jumping in on Enoch and don’t know squat about him, like me.

The difference is they won’t research the man because they are lazy.

Thomas Paine now was really an interesting character/Quaker worth looking at even though I had not before.

A century earlier there were Quakers like Naylor and Perrot who thought similarly.

George Fox sought to distance them from Quakerism.

The thing I found about Quakers is there is no religious dogma that all believe.

They are divided on many matters.

Some today will even say they are not Christian.

    https://www.friendsjournal.org/are-quakers-christian-non-christian-or-both/

    They make perfect revolutionaries.

They have been at the forefront of change from the time they came on the scene.

Thomas Paine is attractive because of the events that unfolded during his lifetime.

But he was a product of Quaker thinking as is so much current thinking.

  • I have done more for Black Americans than anybody, except for the possible exception of Abraham Lincoln.” Donald Trump has repeatedly made this statement. However, many Black Americans have not viewed Trump’s first presidential term similarly. We cover some of the key concerns below.

    Keon L. Gilbert
Associate Professor – Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social JusticeCo-Director – Institute for Healing Justice & Equity
It is true that Black unemployment was at an all-time low in February 2020, before COVID-19. Yet, the Black unemployment rate under the Obama-Biden administration had one of the largest declines in American history following The Great Recession. Trump largely inherited a growing economy. However, when we look at the jobs picture, in addition to the unemployment rate, we are concerned about the quality of those jobs. Quality jobs pay living wages and benefits. Blacks still continue to be concentrated in lower sector jobs, which do not have adequate healthcare or paid sick leave and have disproportionately exposed them to COVID-19. For Black men, job prospects are even more limited. In addition to facing more barriers to work entry, the available jobs often do not provide enough money for them to provide financially for their families. For these men, the labor market has failed them. Thus, their unemployment is not factored into the rate. In fact, research notes that 1.5 million Black men are missing from social and economic life.

Trump’s recent Platinum Plan claims to increase investments in Black communities by creating Black-small businesses and jobs. Despite the rapper Ice Cube’s contributions, for some it is too little, too late. The Pay Protection Plan (PPP) from the Small Business Administration left Black businesses out in the cold. Over 90% of Black-owned small businesses that applied for PPP funding were denied. This has led to over 40% of Black-owned small businesses being shuttered during COVID-19. These realities document a callousness towards Black business owners who already have difficulties securing loans for development, and if provided a loan, are more likely to be offered one at higher interest rates than similar white-owned businesses would obtain, thereby increasing their operating costs. If achieving racial equity were actually part of Trump’s agenda, the distribution of resources from the PPP would have explicitly included Black-and-other-minority-owned small businesses and would have allowed them to receive an equitable share.

    Implicit Bias Training

During the first 2020 Presidential debate, Chris Wallace asked Trump, “Why did you end racial sensitivity training and do you believe there is systemic racism in this country?” Trump replied, “I ended it because it’s racist… a lot of people were complaining they were asked to do things that were absolutely insane. That it was a radical revolution… They were teaching people to hate our country.” Trump’s statements are ironic considering that hate crimes increased over 200% in places where he held a campaign rally in 2016. His language about “Liberate Michigan” and “Stand back and stand by” may have contributed to the kidnapping plots of Michigan and Virginia Governors.

In addition to Trump’s inflammatory rhetoric, the recent ban on trainings using critical race theory and addressing white privilege are an admission that improving workplace culture is not part of a Trump administration. It is also a blatant denial of racial discrimination that has been protected under the law. All of the federal government needs these forms of training, starting with the White House.

    Criminal Justice Reform and Policing

For many Black people, Trump’s law and order rhetoric and dismissal of the Movement for Black Lives unearths collective memories about his full-page advertisements in four New York newspapers including The New York Times, to crucify the now exonerated Central Park 5. In big, bold letters, Trump’s headline read: “Bring Back the Death Penalty. Bring Back our Police!”

While it is true that Trump signed the First Step Act, a bipartisan bill originally introduced by Senator Cory Booker as the Next Step Act that seeks to decrease recidivism and prison population numbers by providing more vocational training and work opportunities for the formally incarcerated, the Administration’s Department of Justice has also taken steps which have undermined efforts to decrease racist and hostile encounters between Black and Brown Americans and law enforcement. The Trump administration has purposely halted consent decrees and Department of Justice police department investigations. As a point of reference, the Obama administration handed down the most consent decrees of any president.

    Judges and the Courts

Blacks Americans should be aware of what may be Trump’s lasting legacy—his federal judge selections and his Supreme Court nominations. The demographics of the judges are telling. Trump has appointed the most Appeals Court judges since President Jimmy Carter. Not one of them is Black. With a strongly conservative set of judges, many of them will affect judicial outcomes for at least the next generation on topics of critical importance to Black Americans, including policing, sentencing, voting, healthcare, and racial equity. To highlight the impact of these judges, a recent panel, all appointed by Trump, blocked a lower court ruling and is allowing Texas Governor Greg Abbott to only have one mail-in ballot drop off box in each county in the state.

If Trump was doing more for Black people, he would do all he could to ensure they have equitable access to vote. Voting Rights is a cornerstone civil right that Black communities fought to secure. There are millions of Black people who recall not being able to vote. Black people’s right to vote has not been protected and many will be potentially exposed to COVID-19 because of their distrust in the mail-in ballot process.

    COVID-19 and Affordable Healthcare

This brings us to COVID-19. Simply put, the pandemic response by the Trump administration has been deadly. COVID-19 has disproportionately killed Black people at double the rate of Whites. However, it could have been different. When Trump took office, he dismantled the pandemic response unit created under the Obama-Biden administration. He also shut down the social and behavioral committee that helps inform the White House on how people embedded in social institutions like education, hospitals, prisons, grocery stores and restaurants, and neighborhoods might be disproportionately affected based on their urban or rural environments. These factors are the main reason why, to date, nearly 8 million Americans have contracted COVID-19 and nearly 220,000 have died.

Trump claims there is no way these deaths could have been prevented. What we know is that the viral infections are both biologically and socially pathogenic as they follow pathways or vectors of inequity to attack the most vulnerable. Structural conditions determine the susceptibility and severity of acute and chronic conditions. In a global report on pandemic responses, the United States ranked 175th on healthcare access out of nearly 200 countries. Early on during the pandemic, Black people were six times more likely to be turned away from COVID-19 testing and treatment once at the hospital.

In 2016, Trump asked Black Americans: “What do you have to lose?” This is such an infamous statement that rapper Meek Mill put it in the opening of his recent song. Well, what Black people have to lose are their lives as well as those of their loved ones if stuck with four more years of a Trump administration.

Dr. Gilbert is currently an Associate Professor at the Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice in the Department of Behavioral Science and Health Education . David, assuming this data is true 🙃 it’s no wonder he accepted tacitly that he owes “only” $400 mil or thereabouts !

The Forbes piece paints a very daunting picture of how big money players work and how this one particularly was so adept at using leverage very effectively.

As he has said repeatedly he does have the assets in real property to support his liabilities but of course that is NOT the issue … rather the ability to service the loans and how creditors or those who buy out those loans could actually use their power to force actions from a sitting POTUS !

Ah well, he is the greatest thing since Abe Lincoln so we all good!

Incidentally there was a ‘lil tidbit’ from the Forbea reporting that was quite interesting … POTUS was reported buying a property in Florida from his sister for close to $19 mil … nothing untoward about that on its face… BUT … when one recalls the sleight of hand financial improprieties revealed re his father’s estate within the family to avoid taxes, accord ‘hush money’s favors etc … and considering the tax and regulatory improprieties reported re his estate in upstate Westchester NY that sister Maryanne transaction is quite interesting.

Afterall she did resign/retire her ‘judgeship’ after an investigation (which thus preemptedly ended) was initiated following that family tax evasion story

One can only surmise the back story to the purchase!

1.If true Biden’s alleged perfidy is now KNOWN so there is no hold over him and surely nothing can be conflicted re the matter BECAUSE any and all involvement re his son or him would have had to be removed.

2.However, we are now in year FOUR of this POTUS and only now are we becoming more aware (not fully) of how business and personal matters were so heavily conflicted re governance directives he issued … in short he HAS BEEN UNPRECEDENTLY CONFLICTED !

3.Yet, none of that matters or mattered but now ONE salacious allegation being ventilated is cause for grave concern.
