If this is the same Charmaine who used to work from a taxi stand in Bridgetown about 5/10 years ago, who at the time had a disabled husband and a teenaged child, then I have taken her taxi from town to my home many times, and she struck me as a serious,thoroughly decent, hard working woman, who in difficult circumstances was working hard to keep her family together. A real committed wife, loving mother and hard working person.
Is this then how we treat widows? Is this how we permit others to treat our widows?

I have lived in Barbados for 56 years and I have NEVER seen a man slap a woman on her behind in a store, NEVER. So where did the Englishman learn that this behaviour is commonplace or acceptable in Barbados? I have gone to stores, including gas station corner shops, village groceries and bars, supermarkets etc perhaps once per week for 51 years, so perhaps over 2600 times and NEVER NEVER witnessed such BAD behaviour.
So for John or the English man or anybody else to engage in vicious fairy tales that to slap a woman’s bottom while she is going about her shopping and other lawful business is a lie.
And for the man to claim that he gave the woman $50 and she said “let’s go” insinuating that she wished an assignation with him is beyond incredulous.
