Prime Minister Mia Mottley shows off a Kensington Oval ready for T20 World Cup

I’m to ask and every right thinking person must be wondering: in whose interest is the Mia Mottley Administration managing the affairs of this country?

I would not be so silly to suggest that previous administration left this country in good order.  And I would be the first to admit that the new administration needed to take measures to restructure and stabilise the economy.  But so far, the measures imposed by this new labour party administration has shown a merciless disregard for the plight of the most vulnerable in this society.  As promised, the Government removed the much vilified National Society Responsibility Levy (NSRL), which was collected from the merchant class up front, and replaced it with a series of punitive measures that took particular aim at the poor and labouring classes in the country.

This country is badly in need of revenue and the Government seems content to raise the necessary funds to run the country by taxing the people that a labour party was philosophically set up to protect.  On the other hand, this administration has moved swiftly to ensure that its friends and family are protected from the ravages of this marauding tax collecting machine that came into power on May 25, 2018.

This administration has even placed a tax on water, while at the same time forgiving the billions of dollars in income taxes that were owed mainly by the merchant class, who fund election campaigns, and by their close friends and family.

Last December the Government introduced and passed an amendment to the Income Tax Act to write off taxes that were owed by persons between 1968 and 2000.  The cynical among us, including me, believe that this was a measure aimed at giving tax relief to the Prime Minister’s father.

The country did not cry out about that atrocity and that has emboldened the Government to prepare legislation that would write off the Value Added Tax (VAT) that was collected and stolen by VAT registrants between 1996 and 2000.  The furniture store, Courts, is set to receive a write off of the principal sum of $35 million not included interest and penalties, that will also be written off by this legislation.

Lord, the people of this country prayed for a change but if they only knew what they would have gotten.  I am reminded of what my grandmother would say:  BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PRAY FOR, YOU MIGHT GET IT.

The amendment bill is attached.

The World lives off the Backs and Thoughts of Free Enterprise…. The internet, Facebook, Google, Apple, Motor Roller (Inventor of the Cell Phone,) the Basis of All Scientific Discoveries all from Individuals that have had and Exercised Freedom…

Socialism is Slavery…it produces Nothing Productive, just the Contrary it Takes.

Russian born novelist’s, Ayn Rand’s, intellectual assault against the Marxists of her day who diminish the worth of Individual Freedom, she argues in character:

“But you say that [wealth] is made by the strong at the expense of the weak? What strength do you mean? It is not the strength of guns or muscles. Wealth is the product of man’s capacity to think.

Then is [wealth] made by the man who invents a motor at the expense of those who did not invent it?

Is [wealth] made by the intelligent at the expense of the fools?

By the able at the expense of the incompetent?

By the ambitious at the expense of the lazy?

[Wealth] is made — before it can be looted or mooched — by the effort of every honest man, each to the extent of his ability. An honest man is one who knows that he can’t consume more than he has produced” (See: Atlas Shrugged, Ayn Rand, 1957.)

In other words, wealth comes at nobody’s expense but the inventor, the free thinker, the one actually taking the risk and making the sacrifice. It never costs anything to anybody else. There is no expense incurred to those who sit by the sidelines. Therefore, it cannot ever be considered ‘theft” from others who were never involved nor invested in the very process. It costs others nothing!

    Here is a hypothetical

Say that I owe the government $35million dollars and a government minister SAY DE MINISTER OF FINANCE says “let us do some factoring, where I discound your indebtedness to $10 million dollars”

So instead of me paying that money to the government of Barbados, I pay the reduced amount to you, in your designated account, in the UK.

So to cover this all you have to do is to amend the Tax Laws and write of Vat an, whuloss Senator, you doing de same teiffing dat you accuse your predecessor 007 Cris Decimals for!!

Being omniscient Jesus knew that there would always be people who insist on taking more than their fair share leaving virtually nothing for others. He was simply stating a reality. But Jesus did not mean that we should simply accept that. His many words elsewhere prove otherwise. And that my dear, is common sense..

James 5:1-6 English Standard Version (ESV)
    Warning to the Rich
5 Come now, you rich, weep and howl for the miseries that are coming upon you. 2 Your riches have rotted and your garments are moth-eaten. 3 Your gold and silver have corroded, and their corrosion will be evidence against you and will eat your flesh like fire. You have laid up treasure in the last days. 4 Behold, the wages of the laborers who mowed your fields, which you kept back by fraud, are crying out against you, and the cries of the harvesters have reached the ears of the Lord of hosts. 5 You have lived on the earth in luxury and in self-indulgence.

Those are the poor of whom I speak. Those who labour and are not rewarded fairly. And most religious scholars I meet don’t think we should meekly accept it. They preach sermons in keeping with the passage above and encourage employers to pay fair wages.

“PS. There are people in the US of A doing two jobs and still struggling. The problem is that capitalists pay PISS POOR WAGES AND AVOID PAYING TAXES.”

Poverty Exist in every country of the world but in the US their idea of poverty is if someone works for under $24.000 per year which is $48.000 thousand Bajan dollars which is nearly a thousand dollars per week. Everything in Barbados is Expensive and things are cheap in the U.S. compared to Barbados. Electricity is a fraction of the price in Barbados, Cars and other Vehicles do not attract a 200+% Duty as in Barbados etc. So the U.S. poverty line of $24.000 per year is the equivalent to about $80-100 thousand Bajan dollars buying power.

So just in case Donna when people read your idea of poverty in America they have to put it in context.

Donna you said Norway it is a hybrid state “The Norwegian economy is an example of a mixed economy, a prosperous capitalist welfare state and social democracy country featuring a combination of free market activity and large state ownership in certain key sectors”.

The State of Denmark has so much natural Wealth as you mentioned strategic petroleum sector (Statoil), hydroelectric energy production (Statkraft), aluminium production… Yet you fail to mention that their Taxation is through the Roof making the cost of living to Skyrocket…So if Common-sense is to prevail why do they need to tax the people so high if the State income derived from natural resources is so significant?

    It’s about CONTROL…

“Taxation is not about distribution of wealth, but about power. According to the French philosopher Bertrand de Jouvenel, taxes are not a transfer of income from the ones that have to the ones that have not, but a transfer of power from individuals to government bureaucracy. High rate taxes are one of the most efficient means to consolidate once and for all the overwhelming power of the managerial state over the individual” — Silvio Livio Simonetti Neto at the Acton Institute:

The Original name of Communism used to be called Revolutionary Socialism that was when Socialism was instituted by Revolution. Socialism is when it is instituted through Social Change or Democracy.

    LISTEN WELL!

Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than all other Systems combined. To the extent a Society is Capitalist, people live in wealth, Freedom, and Dignity. In Stark Contrast, Communism has been Inflicted on Hundreds of millions of people, and has never produced anything but Poverty, Slavery and Genocide. Socialism is the Path through Mediocrity to Communism. Those who Work have the Wealth they Create Confiscated at Gun point, but those who don’t work get money for nothing …Until the Transition through Socialism to Full Blown Communism is Completed. Then when you Don’t Work they Kill You! AS in Cuba & Venezuela!!

NOTE THAT THEY WERE SAID TO BE more noble than those in Thessalonica, WHO ARE SPOKEN OF IN I THESSALONIANS 2:13 THUS:
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

YOU SEE YOU RECIEVE THE WORD OF MEN——THE RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS INSTEAD OF LEARNING TO RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH FOR YOURSELF WITH THE HELP OF BIBLE SCHOLARS LED BY THE SPIRIT

MUCH OF WHAT THE BIBLE SAYS DOES NOT MAKE SENSE TO THE UNREGENERATED RELIGIOUS SCHOLAR

THE BIBLE ITSELF SAYS SO IN 1 Corinthians 1:18
For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

Dr.GP Unfortunately Donna feels that Jesus was a Socialist…

We should Not Speak Falsehood and Wrest the Truth, it will be heaped upon our heads tenfold…. Jesus was Not A Socialist and never taught those Principles of Robbing Peter to Paul….Those are the Precepts and Doctrines of men. That is the Exact opposite and Counterfeit of Christ Gospel.

It promotes the Ideology of Envy and Theft and is in Direct Opposition to His Commandments, the Greatest being to Love others as we do ourselves. When you are Charitable and take from your own pocket to assist others that is Noble indeed However when you take from someone else pocket that is Deplorable and Encourages Thievery even if you have the Government do it for you.

    Socialism is Not of God.

“Every member upon this floor knows it. We have the right, as individuals, to give away as much of our own money as we please in charity; but as members of Congress we have no right so to appropriate a dollar of the public money. “Mr. Speaker, I am the poorest man on this floor. I cannot vote for this bill, but I will give one week’s pay to the object, and if every member of Congress will do the same, it will amount to more than the bill asks.”

  19. A pox have been placed on this govt because of their lies and decitfulness in trying to win the election
Who would have thought that in eight months barbados crime rate would have skyrocketed to 200 percent

These things doth the Lord hate and are an abomination unto him:
A proud look, a lying tongue

A heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief,

A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren

All the above mentioned can be associated with present govt as their hastened to win the election
Now barbados would suffer the repercussions of such wicked deeds
Also one can add stealing the food off the table of the Dominican people in an hastened and vile approach called poaching

  20. The crime rate has not skyrocketed by 200%.

  21. @FC
Your numbers are incorrect. Please look at the table
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poverty_in_the_United_States#Two_official_measures_of_poverty
You cannot reduce poverty in the US to a single number as the cost of living varies greatly from State to State.
As you can see below, it is a function of the number of people in the family and which state they live in.
A person who gets by in Alabama on $12,140 would catch their royals in NY.

HS) figures for Federal Poverty Level in 2018[31]
    Persons in
    Family Unit 48 Contiguous States
    and D.C. Alaska Hawaii
    1 $12,140 $15,180 $13,960
    2 $16,460 $20,580 $18,930
    3 $20,780 $25,980 $23,900
    4 $25,100 $31,380 $28,870
    5 $29,420 $36,780 $33,840
    6 $33,740 $42,180 $38,810
    7 $38,060 $47,580 $43,780
    8 $42,380 $52,980 $48,750
    Each additional
    person adds $4,320 $5,400 $4,970

Wages are also a function of the state that you liv e in.

    Your statement
” So the U.S. poverty line of $24.000 per year is the equivalent to about $80-100 thousand Bajan dollars buying power.”
    is nonsense

I believe a person making $80K-100K BDS has a MUCH higher standard of living than a person making $24K in the US.

Note the old useless Bajan argument… the comparison of Barbados to the US (or England, France, Spain, China, Finland ….)

  22. TheOGazerts

    Brilliant!!!

Sound analysis……. a very good contribution.

  23. David how about Deceitfulness and lying Care to comment in respect to govt promises made and not kept
Oh are you saying that when media reports a 200percent in violent crime it is fake news

  24. If there is anyone here who is deceitful and lying, it’s you…… and for obvious reasons.

The report suggested it was MURDERS that increased by 200% and NOT crime in general.

It’s a pity you cannot engage in an honest discussion without manipulating the truth and politicizing every issue.

  25. And how do you define violent crime

  26. Spiraling of crime attributed to this govt leaves a stain on this country and taints and stigamized the overall country addding with a negative effecting to the doward spiraling if an economy
One can rest assure that Tourist with families reading that advisory would make decisions that would put their safety first
This govt had all the answers when campaigning but now the rubber has hit the road we have an AG saying the advisory is much ado about nothing and points his finger to exemplified other countries
    What a Duffus

  27. The crime situation cannot be attributed to any one thing. You may want to add for example that under the last government containers at the Port were being not being efficiently scanned. In fact only one scanner was working and at one point none.

You need to stop your Lilliputian interventions.

  28. David you can also add that a fouteen year Blp govt who boasted on having the best economy and financial resources and time should have used those resources to upgrade and beef up or security in and around our ports and borders including immigration
Less you forget that when past govt laid out plans or meadures for increase security in the ports and immigration the long hue and cries came from the blp( now present govt) and their cronies including the Unions ..Hell No was the words spelled out in black and white
In any case it is a crying shame that when in opposition for ten years this present govt did not table a security plan among themselves which they could in the eight month period used to adress security problems
However instead resort to a useless policy of “blame game and smoke and mirrors”

  29. WARU, Crazy & Unstable, Hogging the Blog Avatar
WARU, Crazy & Unstable, Hogging the Blog

What they should ALL be explaining…is what they did with the $500,000 US gave for the island’s security…if no scanners were bought…let alone maintained or cameras installed in those 4 free-for- all gun, drug and stolen vehicles running ports…in all that time…what did they do with the money…

ah included the private airstrip at the old Sewell where it is known that those private planes also carry guns, drugs, hoes and other contraband…

  30. Violent crimes may be defined as those offences that involve the use or threat of force, such as murder, manslaughter, aggravated assault (e.g. burglary, robbery, muggings, serious bodily harm, assault with the intent to commit murder, robbery or rape, etc.), drive-by shootings.

If police stats indicate there has been a decrease in violent crimes, with the exception of murder, which they suggested has increased to 200%, does this mean violent crimes, in general, increased by 200%?

  31. Your comment to separate and define is not sufficient to take away the sting and effect when the reader/tourist/ visitor take a read of what is stated in the media of 200percent spiral in crime
Those accessing the report understands that violence is attributed to actions of criminal activity
Very few if any would go to the trouble of defintion by way of analysis
The fact being that such reports and advisory sends mutiple red flags whether they be crimes of one nature or another and is not good for any economy

  32. *BIBLE SCHOLARS BELIEVE THE BIBLE
RELIGIOUS SCHOLARS TALK ABOUT “COMMON SENSE’ AND THE TRADITIONS AND THOUGHTS OF MEN

”…Rocking on to the back foot and cracking that one away for four”

  33. You KNOW your mentioning it was “stated in the media of 200 percent spiral in crime” is UNTRUE. It indicates the lengths you’re willing to take……… spreading lies and propaganda to fulfil your political agenda.

To mention re: “Very few if any would go to the trouble of definition by way of analysis, is RUBBISH, because an analysis of the crimes was included in the police report and is there for Barbadians and visitors alike to read and understand.

Unless you believe tourists are silly or have a political agenda similar to yours…… and will interpret the stats to mean “all hell has broken loose” in Barbados.

On one hand you’re implying visitors would not analyse the report and would assume crime is 200%………..but contradicted yourself re: “Those accessing the report understands that violence is attributed to actions of criminal activity.”

What you are attempting to do is undermine, manipulate and “politically spin” that analysis, to indicate the present administration is responsible for what you intentionally perceive in your mind, as a crime situation spiraling out of control.

In other words, you are engaging in an activity you admonished critics of your administration in undertaking……….which is, spreading “doom and gloom” and hysteria. What is also amazing, is when the critics were giving negative commentary about the socio-economic and crime situations under your administration, you accused them of being “unpatriotic, not putting Barbados first, as well as ‘scaring’ tourists and investors.”

It’s a pity you believe you’re justified in engaging in similar activities, because it is political expedient for you to do so.

I agree that there is a cause to be concerned about the recent shooting deaths……… and this administration, which, while in opposition, projected the view they had solutions for every problem. So far, AG Marshall has not demonstrated he has the ability to develop policy initiatives to address the crime situation……other than the “knee jerk” reaction of hiring former Commissioners of Police as crime consultants (Durant and Watson opt out due to illness) and increased joint police/soldier patrols.

It is interesting to note, however, that this recent advisory, similarly to other advisories issued in the past, does NOT tell US citizens NOT TO VISIT Barbados, but to be careful of going into specific areas at specific times of the day.

However, some days you make reasonable points that merit the “spot on” and “keep digging” accolades. But today, you’re struggling on this crime issue. Why? Because you began with UNTRUTHS.

Anyhow……. I dun wid you and dat.

  34. GP,

You keep knocking the Codrington College scholars but isn’t it funny that, having been taught by these scholars, more often than not I agree with you? On this one matter we disagree. I believe that though the poor will always be with us (as Jesus said but could be concluded by anyone with half a brain) we should take reasonable action to reduce their presence in our midst to those who refuse to work or do not work hard. They are poor by choice. Those who labour should be paid commensurate with their contribution to wealth creation. This is an ideal we should work towards though recognizing that as with everything else we shall never achieve in total. Just as medicine cannot stop death but still works to delay it and improve the quality of life.. No ideal is ever reached. There will be no Utopia as long as flawed mankind rule this earth. Do you suggest that we should sit on our asses and just do nothing????? Is this what Jesus suggested we do – wait for pie in the sky when we die by and by??????? Quote me the passages that say we should do that!

PS. You berate me for taking a passage out of context but here it is that you take one simple statement – the poor will always be with us – and extrapolate all manner of things from that simple statement of the reality that man is sinful. You do not add the context in which the statement was made. But we know that it was a SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCE surrounding Jesus’ anointing by a Mary and Judas’ thinking that she wasted money that could have been distributed to the poor.. Your argument is DISINGENUOUS AND BENEATH YOU. Jesus REPEATEDLY SPOKE ABOUT WHAT OUR ATTITUDE SHOULD BE TO THE POOR!

You, I’m afraid cannot see the forest for the trees.

But….. all of us here KNOW that your greatest failing is pride and you are incapable of conceding a single point. We understand your absolute compulsion to have the last word and so you are welcome to it.

    Looney Tunes

I do not believe that Jesus was a socialist or a capitalist or of any other man made political ideology. I believe he stood for JUSTICE which would of course include fair wages for labour. This does not happen with unchecked capitalism. Fair wages are not paid to those who ACTUALLY PRODUCE the wealth that further enriches the rich. This is EXPLOITATION. There should be a more robust bonus agreement that distributes profits fairly with the providers of ideas and capital taking shares for each of those contributions and those who actually do the labour receiving a more substantial share. I do not consider that the owners have fairly accumulated their wealth and therefore taxation is not stealing but forcing them to pay their fair share. WHICH WE ALL KNOW VERY FEW PEOPLE WOULD EVER DO UNLESS FORCED TO DO SO.

I do not see any Bible passage that speaks to the evils of some (NOT ALL) ownership of capital by the state or the evils of reasonable taxation or any of the things you espouse. These are man made constructs to which you adhere with extreme religious zeal. This should be obvious to all since you have offered the quotes of man to back you up and not Bible passages.

PS. Why do you keep referring to Denmark. I posted on NORWAY which has more than the average state ownership of capital. It is a hybrid of capitalism and socialism. And it is working.

I think I have presented enough that your googly-eyed (this is how I picture you when I read your posts) looneyism is refuted. This why I post and not to convince you. It is OBVIOUSLY insane to argue with a lunatic.

So, you too may have the last word. Knock your looney self out!

  35. To rational people,

Capitalism has lifted more people out of poverty than any other economic ideology. This may be true. But billions of people are still poor and getting poorer relative to the capitalists Their wages do not keep up with inflation while the capitalists for whom they labour triple their wealth. There is a reason why we use the term “filthy rich” to describe them. Left unchecked i.e. wages not keeping up with inflation, how long will it take for those who have been lifted out of poverty to return to poverty?.

And that is common sense. Not googly-eyed faux religious ideology.

We must continue to look for a better system since unchecked capitalism has reached the limits of its usefulness. It has plateaued and is on its way down the curve.

  36. Good Day All

  37. What ever u say it advisories does not bode well to the country safety
We now are beginning to the sown seeds of corrupt govt who boasted about having a vibrant economy but did nothing to protect our borders (as evident in the fast rise in crime that has taken over our shores

  38. Yesterday I caught a minibus. The driver was driving and whatsapping. I told him I felt unsafe. He offered to put me out in the rain. I refused since he had taken me from the terminal where I had shelter and I was told that my other option was to sit down and shut to RH up. Of course I did not do that. He realized that he had no option but to put the phone away. Passengers laughed at me. Called me miserable. Told me that I should say a prayer and hope for the best because I am not the driver and cannot determine what a driver does and that by speaking negative words into the atmosphere I was calling an accident into being. When I reached my destination it was determined that I need a man in my life.

Some arguments on Bu remind me of that level of logic.

  39. Dullard.

How do you know that I have not done that??????? Maybe after doing that I agree with the religious scholars.

That is a yorker on your bloody ignorant stumps.

  40. Yes, I agree…… seeds of corruption SOWN by BOTH BLP and DLP administrations.

You keep mentioning “the fast rise in crime that has taken over our shores.”

    WHERE ID YOUR PROOF?

Could you please post to BU, the stats that verify your claim or direct the forum from whence this information came?

  41. More minibus logic.

Jesus condemned the religious scholars of the day and therefore he would condemn all religious scholars of today.

    SMH and done with that.

    GP,
You keep knocking the Codrington College scholars but isn’t it funny that, having been taught by these scholars, more often than not I agree with you?
I DON’T REALLY CARE IF YOU DO OR IF YOU DONT

. I believe that though the poor will always be with us (as Jesus said
YOU SHOULD STOP THERE ON THAT MATTER CAUSE THAT IS A FACT THAT CAN NOT BE REFUTED

we should take reasonable action to reduce their presence in our midst OF THE POOR BUT AS JESUS SAID WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

. Those who labour should be paid commensurate with their contribution to wealth creation. This is an ideal we should work towards though recognizing that as with everything else we shall never achieve in total.

ALL VERY TRUE BUT AS JESUS SAID WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

No ideal is ever reached. There will be no Utopia as long as flawed mankind rule this earth.
THAT IS VERY TRUE. WE HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE MILLENIAL KINGDOM WHEN JESUS WILL REIGN WITH AN IRON ROD FROM SHORE TO SHORE FOR THE TIME OF UTOPIA

Do you suggest that we should sit on our asses and just do nothing?????
NO I NEVER SAID THAT I SAID THAT JESUS SAID THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

Is this what Jesus suggested we do – wait for pie in the sky when we die by and by??????? Quote me the passages that say we should do that!
NO I NEVER SAID THAT I SAID THAT JESUS SAID THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

I KNOW ALL OF THAT I KNOW ALSO THAT JESUS SAID THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL
    I HAVE NOT EXTRAPOLATED ANYTHING

Jesus REPEATEDLY SPOKE ABOUT WHAT OUR ATTITUDE SHOULD BE TO THE POOR!

SURE HE DID BUT HE ALSO SAID THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

You, I’m afraid cannot see the forest for the trees.
ACTUALLY I CAN SEE BOTH THE FORESET AND THE TREES AND ALSO THAT JESUS SAID THAT THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

But….. all of us here KNOW that your greatest failing is pride and you are incapable of conceding a single point. We understand your absolute compulsion to have the last word and so you are welcome to it.

    WHEN YA RIGHT YA RIGHT

JESUS SAID THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

BY THE WAY WHEREAS Jesus stood for JUSTICE HE ALSO GAVE A STORY THAT SUGGESTS THAT WORKERS TEND TO GET WHAT THEY AGREE TO WORK FOR

WORKERS CAN REFUSE TO WORK IF THEY DO NOT LIKE THE WAGES OFFERED AND STAY AT HOME

I HAVE REFUSED SEVERAL TEACHING JOBS AT OFFSHORE MEDICAL SCHOOLS OVER THE YEARS BECAUSE I DID NOT LIKE THE WAGES I WAS OFFERED

RE I do not see any Bible passage that speaks to the evils of ownership of capital by the state or the evils of reasonable
JESUS SAID WE SHOULD RENDER TO CAESAR I.E THE STATE WHAT WAS DUE
    AND HE PAID THE TAXES

I do not see any Bible passage that speaks to SOCIALISM OR COMMUNISM EITHER UH LIE?
THIS IS SOND DOCTRINE THAT CAN NOT BE REFUTED

ONE APPRECIATES YOUR ZEAL FOR THE POOR BUT JESUS SAID THAT WE WILL ALWAYS HAVE THE POOR WITH US AND WE STILL DO AND ALWAYS WILL

AND YOU CANT DO A THING BOUT UM EXCEPT RANT AND RAVE

RE When I reached my destination it was determined that I need a man in my life.
THIS MAY BE TRUE. MAYBE THIS CAN NOT BE REFUTED EITHER

RE Jesus condemned the religious scholars of the day and therefore he would condemn all religious scholars of today.

VERY LIKELY , IF WE WOULD GO BY MARK 7

Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with theirlips, but their heart is far from me.
7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do.
9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.

MAYBE HE WOULD POINT THEM TO COLLOSSIANS 2 ESPECIALLY VERS 8
As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:
7Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
8Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
9For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
10And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:

  44. I keep asking myself how a govt (blp) that boasted of having the greatest economy . Not use the financial resources to secure barbados borders
Ii doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand the value of protecting a country borders
Even a simple minded person with little or no education.having financial resources would protect their property from intruders
The question which should be asked of this govt why did they not see protection and safety as a number one priorty in their 14 year of goverence
Now that the shi..t has hit the celing the outspoken AG Marshall who once had all the answers to barbados problems speaks fowl..sh it

  45. You seem to be correlating “protecting our borders” with gun crimes. And by protecting our borders, you often refer to the biometric technology.

The finger print technology is a means of identifying non-nationals who were previously deported or wanted for crimes in other jurisdictions, but have assumed different identities, by obtaining “false” passports and identification bearing another name, to enter countries.

You cannot seriously conclude that the non-implementation of the biometric fingerprinting technology is responsible for an increase in illegal guns or gun crimes, when guns are reportedly brought into the island by means other than the sea or air ports.

Where is the evidence to suggest crime is being committed by non-national that entered Barbados other than by an official port of entry?

You need to stop this nonsense. If I had presented this argument, I’m sure the president of your fan club would have accused me of appalling ignorance as a result of learning by rote.

But as I constantly mention, it’s not about WHAT is written….. it’s about WHO wrote it.

    Facts Not Fiction

    Here are a few FACTS.

I can walk into to my local Walmart, Best Buy or Target and purchase a 42inch Flat Screen TV for under US$200 or BD$400 in Barbados impossible to buy a brand new 42inch Flatscreen for under BD$1000 from any Major Retailer.

I can go to a major local grocery store and purchase US$200 or BD$400 in food including meats same in Barbados is going to cost anywhere over BD$1000.

I can go to my local Toyota or Honda Dealer and buy a nice new economy car with at least 5 to 7-year warranty for under US$20,000 or BD$40,000 the same equivalent car price in Barbados is well over $100,000.

Mercedes brand new starting under US$30,000 or BD$60,000 similar costing from Simpson Motors the dealer several hundred Thousand BD$.

Anyone can go to the Dollar Tree Store NATIONWIDE and find quality products at no more than US$1 including cosmetics, food, household, pharmaceuticals, stationery etc.

In no State in the USA does anyone has to pay a Sales Tax of 17.5% in addition to all the other myriad of taxes added on the island.

So it is a nonsensical argument that US$24,000 salary in the USA is NOT about or more than the spending power of BD$80,000 salary in Barbados.

These are just a few examples which I can add many more from living on the island of Barbados and in the USA.

I did not mention clothes, shoes and many other items we use daily.

I bought my girlfriend recently a brand new 32inch Flatscreen TV for $115 for her birthday.

But why would anybody buy US$200/BD$1000 in food at any one time. Isn’t some of it going to spoil before an average family can finish it? Or aren’t you going to get tired of eating it and hanker for something new? or are you going to eat it all up and become obese?

Isn’t the U.S. leading the world in obesity?

And is that a good thing?

Or aren’t you going to get tired of eating it and hanker for something new?
NO YOU DONT IF YOU BUY A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT THINGS

or are you going to eat it all up and become obese?

NO YOU DONT HAVE TO DO THAT
ACTUALLY YOU LOOK AT CALORIE COUNTS AND BUY THE LOW CALORIE THINGS YOU LIKE
