Prime Minister Theresa May suffered an embarrassing defeat to her BREXIT package in parliament yesterday and will likely face a no Confidence motion later today. If she survives the no confidence motion she will have 70 days before the default clause kicks in to boot the UK from the EU.

What are her options? There is the obvious which is to ask for a delay. Another referendum seems silly. What is ominous for the Tories is that the business sector has separated itself from government’s position.

Across the globe there is a common trend; chaos – the inability of the political class to form partnerships, build coalitions to practice conflict resolutions to arrive at compromise positions.

It would require a Water Diviner, a top Senegalese Marabout, an Obeah woman from Benin and a Bajan Bushman, acting in unison, for Theresa Mary May to avoid her fate after the Brexit Deal is voted-down, on Tuesday, in the House of ‘Commons’.

We witnessed firsthand, on June 23, 2016, the British peoples in their majority voting to leave the European Union (EU) – approximately 52% to 48%. The referendum, promised by David Cameron, was a response to the overarching and historic dictatorial tendencies emanating from Brussels but also represented a reassertion of Whiteness and innate neo-fascist tendencies. It has now set a series of processes in place the enormity of which are having the unforeseen consequences few could have imagined.

And, we must admit, that the politics are very difficult on all sides. The main actors are the European Union (EU), the Conservative Party and their coalition partner, (the DUP) and the main opposition Labour Party.

May is facing all manner of rebellion within her ranks. The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) a far-right, terrorist fringe has called for her resignation. In addition, she faces nay-votes from up to 100 of her own conservative colleagues. These include a number of pretenders to the primeministership – Jacob Rees-Mogg, Boris Johnson, el al.

Not even the last-minute suggestion of a second referendum as part of her proposals to parliament is likely to be sufficient to galvanize enough support from a difficult coalition of conservatives, the DUP, the Blairist labour MPs, and others, to save May’s Brexit Deal. These suggest a most likely ‘Brexit without a deal’, given the calendar and assuming all other political forces ‘remain’ equal, no pun intended.

The man who could be British prime minister by Christmas, Jeremy Corbyn, also has long-running discord within the ranks of the Labour Party with Tony Blair loyalists and ‘EU remainers’ like Chuka Umunna continuing to provide Corbyn with all manner of contrived hurdles include the accusation that Corbyn was an anti-Semite. What a canard!

The EU for its part faces growing geopolitical and internal crises which together may suggest its beginning of the end. However, its outward determination presents a stalwartness aimed at keeping the troops (other EU countries) in line by shooting a general, the UK, in a public place. They, the EU, are unyielding. Suggesting that no other Brexit deal than that already negotiated with Theresa May will be possible after a no-vote in the ‘Commons’, as a further constraint to popular perceptions about sovereignty.

Of course, the sub-plots are the issues relating to Scotland, the re-unification of Ireland, the rekindling of relationships with former colonial possessions, international trading arrangements with major countries etc. All of these are casting uncertainty about the future for both ‘little’ and ‘big’ England. Even in May’s Brexit Deal issues pertaining to the Customs Union, borders, nationality and others ‘remain’ unclear.

We present three (3) possible scenarios that are likely to end this crisis in the short term, though politics pretends to be about making the impossible, possible, some say. These are all predicated on the assumption that Theresa May will be defeated in the House of ‘Commons’ tomorrow.

First, that a general election will be called and that Labour will win but that Corbyn would continue to find Brexiting a difficult proposition. This explains his well-known tactic of neither fully supporting nor fully opposing Brexit in principle.

Second, that the coalition led by May will force her resignation and that one of the pretenders mentioned earlier will assume its leadership. In these circumstances, we see no overt determination to leave the EU if staying remains slightest possibility. This will be a win for Brussels.

Third, and this is the most unlikely scenario, that a radical transplantation occurs in British politics. With this, we ‘may’ see Blairist forces within Labour join with EU ‘remainers’ in the Conservative Party and others to form a new ruling bloc.

As the political undertakers plane the wood for May’s coffin the leading pallbearers, on all sides, are marshalling their forces to be the first at body. Still, it remains uncertain who will get to control the carcass, and what it will mean to be British for the peoples of these islands in the North Atlantic.

He laughs at fear afraid of nothing.
He does not shy away from the sword.
He cannot stand still when the trumpet sounds.

The quote is an adaptation of verses in the Bible, Job 39 22-25.

    Yours @7.41 Dec.21

Short answer, although he is a conservative, he doesn’t want the Robert’s Court to appear to be a “rubber stamp” for Republican policies and more seriously for Trump. Foremost in the thinking of CJ’s is legacy as historians are always poring over their decisions and opinions, it appears that he wants to keep them guessing but given his background he is more likely to vote with the conservative wing of the Court. He was also the deciding vote in the Affordable Care Act which made Scalia chagrined and Republicans apoplectic.

Mr Blogmaster, re your query: How does one explain Chief Justice John Roberts vote today?.

@Sargeant has quite reasonably highlighted the “political” angle of SCOTUS punditry but on THIS ‘stay’ decision there is also a mundane perspective – if there is every such a thing at these levels of legal maneuvers.

    So here is the mundane!

This vote basically sends the case BACK to the ninth circuit for complete adjudication…it does not pass a ruling in any way. In short, the final appeal will likely be on the SCOTUS docket next year and on the legal merits the vote could be the exact opposite.

So to be clear… the current action wanted SCOTUS TO preempt the full process and issue an injunction to allow Trump’s ruling to prevail but the Chief Justice has essentially said : there is no pressing or overarching distress to be remedied that gives need to validate your ruling at this time, Mr POTUS, so let it be argued fully on its condtitutional/legal merits in the courts.

The best comparison is the POTUS ruling on the immigration country ban….now that was significantly more complex (convoluted really) than the this asylum ban issue but clear comparisons are there nonetheless….

Remember that ban, iteration #2 was appealed for an injunction stay to SCOTUS after adverse rulings in NY and then Hawaii; remember also SCOTUS DISSAPROVED any injunction on that version of the proposed law; remember further that a third version after full legal arguments was then eventually UPHELD by the said same SCOTUS with the said same Roberts on the five majority!.

Frankly there is every reason to believe a similiar result in favor of the WH could be approved when all arguments are completed in this case too.

Phewww….a long answer to a simple question… politics and law always too prolix😂😂

  10. NOW THIS IS WHAT I CALL HATE BY THE US MEDIA FOR THEIR PRESIDENT
THIS IS AS HILARIOUS AS READING BU MOST DAYS

The Media Can’t Even Handle the Trump Family’s Christmas Picture

Mainstream media outlets that have made it a point to criticize literally everything having to do with the President and First Lady are now looking for negative “hidden body language messages” in the First Family’s 2018 official Christmas portrait.

The portrait, which features President Donald Trump holding First Lady Melania Trump’s hand as both of them stand together in the Cross Hall of the White House, would seem innocuous at first glance, but is apparently rife with hidden signals that commentators are eager to decipher for their willing audience.

Patti Wood, a so-called “body language expert”, has found numerous ridiculous things to pick on in the photo. First of all, she criticizes the President and First Lady for standing straight instead of facing each other or leaning on each other. Apparently, their posture and stance fail to indicate affection, care and a “desire to merge”, whatever that may be.

The First Lady is then criticized because she is standing with both feet facing forward rather than in a standard “feminine posture,” and her left inner arm is curved in such a way as to indicate fear. What is more, both the President and First Lady are grinning rather than smiling and this is not a good thing; rather, it indicates tension. Patti Wood then goes on to state that this photograph, with all its supposed errors and gaffes, is really the best of the First Couple has to offer.

Many people might be surprised to know that so much could be picked on when looking at a single Christmas photograph taken by a professional photographer. Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time that the mainstream media has gone out of its way to look for small details regarding the President and First Lady’s life and then blow them way out of proportion. The First Lady’s body language was analyzed in depth earlier this year when Stormy Daniels’ story first broke.

Melania Trump was also criticized by numerous news outlets over her choice of Christmas decorations for the White House this year and last year. Last year’s white decorations were apparently “too cold” and “creepy” — and some social media users even compared the First Lady to the White Witch in Chronicles of Narnia. This year, it was the crimson red Christmas trees that drew the most attention as unhappy people throughout the nation complained that they looked like something out of “Handmaid’s Tale”.

The media’s negative focus on the First Lady recently drew a rebuke from Stephanie Grisham, the First Lady’s deputy chief of staff for communications. She accurately noted that while the media is obsessed with the First Lady’s posture, shoes and clothes, Melania Trump has done many wonderful things for children and military families that have gone almost unnoticed.

The First Lady recently visited Africa on a goodwill tour that focused on conservation, children’s health and education and social and cultural issues. Earlier this month she visited military families to thank them for their service, participated in the Toys for Tots Program and went to Children’s National Hospital in Washington to read to the sick children, visit the neonatal intensive care unit and talk with the parents of the children in the hospital as well as the staff members who are helping to care for them. However, these praiseworthy actions have received scant media coverage in comparison to the many articles about the First Lady’s choice of clothes, shoes and accessories.

It is understandable that not everyone will like a particular president and his policies. Any politician can and should expect plenty of negative media coverage. However, reading into what is a simple holiday greeting photo and assuming that it is rife with negative hidden meanings borders on the absurd. It is regrettable that, instead of discussing ways to make life better for millions of Americans who face numerous challenges this Christmas and in the year ahead, the mainstream media is looking for small, ridiculous things to pick on the President and First Lady for.

While such nitpicking is sure to please liberals who hate anyone who does not hold to far-left values and positions, it is sure to disgust any reasonable person who would rather celebrate Christmas as the season of cheer and goodwill that it is meant to be.

  11. THERE ARE SOME MORONIC US CONGRESSMEN AND A TOTAL IDIOT ON BU WHO SEEK TO MOCK TRUMP ON HIS WALL

    THE LATEST
Trump said Mexico will be paying for the new wall “indirectly,” as he claims a new North America trade agreement with America’s two neighbors will generate enough revenue for construction.

“Mexico is paying (indirectly) for the Wall through the new USMCA, the replacement for NAFTA!” Trump wrote on Twitter, referring to the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement. “Far more money coming to the U.S. Because of the tremendous dangers at the Border, including large scale criminal and drug inflow, the United States Military will build the Wall!”

IT IS CLEAR —–VERY CLEAR THAT THE WHEELS ARE FALLING OFF

  12. Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn was indicted and prosecuted for not repeating his statements exactly as he uttered them as he was discussing matters he knew were being recorded.

It was thought that his indictment would be overturned by US District Judge Emmet G. Sullivan, but Flynn insists that he lied to investigators…

Why? Because Robert Mueller will prosecute Flynn’s son Michael Flynn Jr. for a similar “process crime” i.e., misquoting himself.

So Lieutenant General Michael T. Flynn pleads guilty to a non-crime crime (The real criminal activity – ontologically i.e., in God’s Court – is coercing low-level people to lie…; thus, Mueller actions are criminal, but not in the unjust parasitic system which gradually supplanted the Government the Founders bequeathed), to prevent his son from suffering that fate.

And Flynn – and others – are coercible tools through which Mueller hopes to fashion a crime against POTUS Trump; if hard evidence isn’t available, the story which Mueller pieces together – with coercion – (it is hoped by all of the Trump haters) – can be used by the Press, Hollywood, and Democrat and never Trump Republican politicians and pundits, to end Trump’s presidency at the 2020 ballot-box; this, since impeachment would back-fire on those which went after Trump…

IT IS CLEAR —–VERY CLEAR THAT THE WHEELS ARE FALLING OFF

  13. HERE IS ANOTHER OPINION ON WHY THE WHEELS ARE FALLING OFF
    AFTER ALL
IF SEMI-ILLITERATE HIGHLY CREDENTIALED BU COMMENTERS SAY THE WHEELS ARE FALLING OFF THEN THE WHEELS ARE FALLING OFF

    As Usual, Trump is RIGHT
    Patrick McCarthyDecember 20, 2018

I’m a little sick of reading so-called conservative pundits criticizing President Trump for pulling American troops out of Syria. Even leftists are bitching and moaning about it and this bipartisan stance on Syria only displays what kind of stranglehold the Deep State has on America.

Remember what happened the last time Trump said he was going to pull troops out of Syria? In case you forgot the “White Helmets,” staged a false flag gas attack resulting in another one of a string of bomb attacks on the small country.

Things got so bad with Syria that America and Israel forced the Russians to get involved. Syria was and is, after all, Russia’s ally. After Barrack Obama’s regime created ISIS in the region which destabilized the entire region Russia had little choice in the matter but to step up. It was either defend their allies or just sit back and watch the West destroy the nation which has clearly been their intent for decades.

Syria has had enough of our shit. Whatever crimes we think Syria has committed against us (which I have yet to see proven), that country has paid for it a hundred times. How unsurprising it is that Middle Easterners see America as evil.

It is time to put the Middle East to rest and with it, Afghanistan. We have tortured these people enough for 9/11 and it is very likely these people had nothing to do with it and that the fault lies closer to home …. or with allies. Whatever future these people have we have no business interfering in and our nations interference as well as other Western nations interference especially England’s, has consistently resulted in failure, turmoil, and massive amounts of deaths in the region.

Trump is right about bringing our troops home from Syria.

We should never have been there in the first place and the same is true of Afghanistan. In fact, we should have left these regions years ago.

The only question is whether the Deep State will allow it.

  14. WATCH THE WHEELS COME OFF SOME MORE
One of the biggest stories of 2018 is the illegal migrant caravan.

Thousands of illegals tried to storm the border while the media was working overtime to defend them.

But the caravan is now ending due to one thing Trump did.

The Central American caravan is full of criminals and gang members.

This is easily proven, but the media ignores it.

In fact, just days ago an MS-13 gang member was caught trying to enter the U.S. by seeking asylum.

The media instead claims it is full of women and children trying to escape horrible conditions in crime-ridden countries.

And they spend as much time as possible convincing their audience of this.

But President Trump sees right through that claim.

Since the start of the caravan, he has been following through on his promise to stop them.

He has U.S. Troops on the border, and they are actively stopping the caravan.

There is barbed wire across certain parts of the border, which is proving to be very effective.

It is for these reasons that the caravan is finally starting to give up.

After a number of unsuccessful rushes of the border, they now realize they are not going to be able to enter illegally.

Their only hope is to gain asylum.

But that isn’t working out for them either.

According to Reuters, thousands of illegal migrants currently in Tijuana, Mexico are heading back to their home countries.

Most of them are realizing that gaining asylum isn’t as easy as they were expecting.

Proving they are asylum cases isn’t an easy thing to do, especially when they are coming through Mexico, a country which is already offering them the opportunity to seek asylum.

And it is much harder due to President Trump’s aggressive enforcement of immigration law.

While former President Barack Obama was in office, a “metering” system was put into effect.

That system limits the amount of asylum cases that can be granted each day.

President Trump is using that system more aggressively than ever before, making it extremely difficult for caravans of thousands of people to make their way in.

An illegal migrant using just her first name, Jessica, explains that the process is much more difficult than she has been expecting.

“Getting asylum is really difficult,” she said. “They ask you for a lot of evidence and it’s impossible. It’s not like they say it is.”

The “they” she is referring to is likely the organizers of the caravan.

Those groups aggressively recruited for the caravan going into the 2018 midterm elections.

Many were hoping to use the caravan to rile up the left-wing base of the Democrat Party, but that backfired.

Instead, it became President Trump’s main talking point on the campaign trail.

In the end, the Democrat “blue wave” turned into a “blue puddle” at best, with Republicans gaining seats in the Senate, despite losing the House.

The end of the midterms has caused much of the talk about the caravan to fizzle away.

But it hasn’t slowed down President Trump’s plans to stop them.

You may not be aware of this fact because you were born with a silver spoon shove down your throat I guess, but a countless number of West Indians came to this country legally and overstayed their visas, but have since rectified their status, and are now making meaningful contributions to the country, and their country of birth.

And added to that more than 50% of West Indians who came to this country on the farm work contract run off, and have since rectified their status!!!

So be careful or cautious as to how you employ the term illegal immigrants, because those illegal West Indians immigrants paved the way for the legal ones to come…

  24. Senator Jeff Flake has introduced a bill to raise taxes as he prepares to leave the Senate after deciding not to run for reelection.

    According to The Daily Caller:
Outgoing Arizona Republican Sen. Jeff Flake will soon co-introduce legislation to tax carbon dioxide emissions, according to news reports.

Flake, who will not be returning to Congress next year, and Delaware Sen. Chris Coon, a Democrat, will introduce their carbon tax bill as soon as Wednesday. The bill is unlikely to go anywhere with just two weeks left in the current legislative session.

Flake and Coon’s bill will be the Senate companion to bipartisan House carbon tax legislation introduced in November. The Washington Times first reported of Flake’s carbon tax bill Wednesday, and The Hill later confirmed it.

Like the House bill, Flake’s carbon tax bill would tax emissions at $15 per ton — a rate that would rise $10 per year until greenhouse gas emissions, hitting $100 per ton in 2030. All of the revenues raised through the tax will get rebated to households to compensate for higher energy costs.

The hope, according to reports, is that Flake’s support will urge other Republicans to support the carbon tax. It is unlikely they will follow Flake, who doesn’t have to face the electorate again.

  28. Miss USA Warns: Donald Trump Is NOT Who You Think He Is
ByTori McNabbPublished on December 23, 2018

Her name is Tara Conner, and when she won in the Miss USA pageant 2006, her misfortune took a turn for the worse when judges discovered she had previously been a cocaine addict.

She was immediately disqualified as the winner.

However, in 2006, Trump was the owner of the Miss USA pageant and heard the controversial backstory. He was moved by her strength and story to overcome addiction to become Miss USA and for this he announced that she would still hold the crown, provided she enter rehab for the addiction.

Donald Trump showed common sense and compassion to a young vulnerable woman who had risen from the dust to become the top in America; sound familiar? 10 year later President Trump would do the same thing, against all odds, he rose to the top to become our president.

Tara Conner made one statement that rings true, the act of compassion that trump showed her, she stated Trump “made me great again.”

    USA Today reported Connors statement:

I became famous as “Mess USA” when my boss — now the president of the United States — tossed me into rehab after I tested positive for cocaine. Rather than strip me of my crown or add to the negative press with a humiliation campaign, Donald Trump surprised me, and shocked the world, when he held a news conference and declared: “Tara is going to be given a second chance.”

It was 10 years ago that I got out of treatment, and I thank him for my 10 years of recovery. I will always be profoundly grateful. He saved my life and, essentially, made me great again.

My life was the perfect storm for addiction. My uncle molested me when I was 3. When I was 14, my parents’ rocky relationship ended in divorce and my grandfather, my protector who gave me unconditional love when no one else would, died.

Like mine, 90% of all substance use disorders begin before age 18. Our president understands firsthand the life-long damage of addiction and how substance use at a young age creates a destructive cycle into an adulthood of suffering and isolation. He has often courageously spoken publicly about how his brother Freddy lost his battle with alcoholism and died in 1981.

Now that is the REAL Donald Trump, don’t believe the lies that liberals try to paint because they hate the President

  29. @David

Further to your question here is an excerpt from today’s (Dec.23) NYT

WASHINGTON — In his first 13 years on the Supreme Court, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr.’s main challenge was trying to assemble five votes to move the court to the right though there were only four reliably conservatives justices.
Now he faces a very different problem. With the retirement of Justice Anthony M. Kennedy and his replacement by Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh, the chief justice has the votes he needs on issues like abortion, racial discrimination, religion and voting. At the same time, he has taken Justice Kennedy’s place as the swing vote at the court’s ideological center, making him the most powerful chief justice in 80 years.

But all of that new power comes at a dangerous time for the court, whose legitimacy depends on the public perception that it is not a partisan institution. “We don’t work as Democrats or Republicans,” Chief Justice Roberts said in 2016, and he reiterated that position in an extraordinary rebuke of President Trump last month.

He seemed to underscore that point again on Friday, joining the court’s four-member liberal wing, all appointed by Democratic presidents, to reject a request from the Trump administration in a case that could upend decades of asylum policy. Earlier this month, he drew sharp criticism from three conservative colleagues for voting to deny review in two cases on efforts to stop payments to Planned Parenthood.

The acting Sec. of Defence will need a lot of luck.

Meanwhile Sec. Of Treasury Mnuchin was busy Sunday phoning the heads of major banks trying to reassure them that despite the market turmoil all was well.

    The wheels are coming off.

  31. @Sargeant

After watching the video a few questions about the interpretation of the constitution based on individual ideology comes to the fore. The process how Justices opinions are co-opted compared with dissenting brings covert horse trading positions into play?

Was it Kennedy who referred to the susceptibility of SCOTUS given its human element? Enough to make a big man go hmmm. In essence Roberts will take up a moderate role supported in law? What informed his previous conservative opinions?

  32. @ David
    Well asked.

This whole idea of the ‘Law’ and its interpretation is nothing more than what happens in a dictatorship
… except that the lawyers and judges get to assume the dictator roles…. and benefits.
They all talk a lot of mumbo jumbo shiite …and then decide whatever suits their personal / political purposes.

By managing to get supposedly intelligent brass bowls to buy into the ‘legality’ of the process,
they have created a perfect dictatorship.

There is ONLY ONE SET of laws that matter Boss….
…and these people (even Jeff) admit ignorance of these critical ground rules.

But when THAT Big Boss JUDGE calls HIGH court……
    Look for…
weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth…
    LOL
….men will shit fish cakes at that time….

  33. @Bush Tea

If all man made systems are inherently susceptible what are the alternatives? How can there be an alternative that is ‘susceptible proof’ if humans are involved? Isn’t this a circular debate always in the making?

  34. de pedantic Dribbler Avatar
    de pedantic Dribbler

Mr BushT, and so dont we “all talk a lot of mumbo jumbo shiite” daily in other major aspects of life!…It’s much better to have some group of lawyers/judges interpretation of the law informing the “dictatorship” than one man or a secretative poliburo type posse being the dictators.

At least we can work witnin those given laws to blunt and even ‘overthrrow’ the legal dictators more readily than the other group!

@David, the NYT piece like many attempt to parse this Chief Justice into the emotive terms like “swing vote”, “most powerful CJ”…. Realistically Chief Roberts seems a reasoned man whose sense of history and relevance of the Court’s impact will surely inform a careful application of those ‘dictatorial’ powers of which @BT so aptly writes .

Can the man be labelled as strictly conservative then and supposedly moderate now? Or is that even the right thrust?

What of Justice O’Connor who historically was labelled as or even more conservative (the US scoring sytem they ridiculously use) than Roberts…she too then became the supposed swing vote between the freaking conservative and liberal segments of the court… but as the next ‘swing’ Justice was quoted as saying (to paraphrase)…is it the person who swings or the case that drive the opinions based on the law!

In sum, (back to @BT) if the Justices deal with the best, most accurate commonsense application/interpretations of the law then all of them at some time would be swing voters on these supposedly land mark cases. There should be no packing of ideologues on the court to overturn already settled cases if the LAW (interpretation of same) does not validate such change.

And back to Roberts, like O’Connor and Kennedy he votes on supposedly liberal block and conservative block issues but for sure every majority decision he joins now which trends liberal will be considered of tsunami proportions … this is the same man afterall who angered the conservatives with his vote to extend ACA when it first reached the court (a liberal votel) but then pissed off liberals when he voted in majority to approve the POTUS seven nation immigration ban (a conservative vote).

Should decisions be scored like that or just on the merits of the law… ah well I presume its much more exciting to play on a swing than dig into legalese and see the validity for the decision !

  35. @Dee Word

The focus on Chief Justice is in the context of the makeup of the bench today? Is it fair to label most of his opinions so far as having a conservative biase compared to his most recent?

I’ll leave the deep dive to the lawyers who study SCOTUS suffice to say Roberts was selected to court by a Republican so he surely is considered conservative by all those who determine those things (Federalist Society et al)… if he continues to decide all cases on merits then just as surely he will be considered as leaving those conservative moorings.

Enough law talk for me for the morning….I gone.

  37. Man must muddle through as best he can. Even God’s laws have to be interpreted.

  38. GP,

That would be a lovely argument except for the fact that I mostly judge Trump not by what the left wing says about him but by the words that come out of his mouth. And the policies with which he follows them up. I for one do not blindly follow CNN or MSNBC like some people follow Rush Limbaugh, Jeanine Pirro, Sean Hannity and company. I subject them to scrutiny. I also sometimes watch Conservative media just for balance and their arguments usually make no sense and are riddled with obvious lies.rather than just spin.

  40. TRUMP EXPECTED TO FIRE FED CHIEF POWELL AFTER HUGE MISTAKE BECOMES PUBLIC
    Steven Ahle DECEMBER 24, 2018
President Trump is considering dumping Fed chief Jerome Powell after his disastrous comments about a continual raising of the interest rates.

The stock market has lost about 16% of its value in the aftermath as the Dow Jones average has dropped 4,500 points and cut people’s 401k s by a vast amount. Before Powell spoke out, the market was moving upward at a steady pace and people’s 401k s were getting fatter by the day.

Powell should have already been fired, along with any other Fed board member who is trying to destroy the US economy. There is no excuse for keeping him in charge.

    From The Gateway Pundit

Most Americans may not know that it is the Fed that has created this market selloff. By firing Powell the President would communicate to Americans the real cause of their life savings being decimated. Also, firing Powell would send a message to the Fed and lawmakers not to steal from working American men and women (any more than they already have)!

By raising rates the Fed lowered every American’s net worth while increasing the amount of US debt interest payments on American tax payers for decades to come. Each interest rate increase increases the interest payments on the US debt and now Powell’s efforts equal a half a trillion dollars in additional annual debt interest payments alone.

But now there is great news for Christmas!

President Trump is discussing firing Powell before he completely destroys the US economy.

DONT DISCUSS IT DONALD JUST FIRE THE WICKED STUPID JACKASS ……….EVEN IF IT CAUSES THE WHEELS TO FALL OFF

  41. Trum cannot fire the Fed Chair.

    Do you understand why?

  42. HE CANT FIRE HIM EH?
BUT HE WILL RUN HIM OUT LOL JUST LIKE HE RUN MAD DOG MATTIS

Trump fires Mattis early, Shanahan to take over Jan. 1
    by Leo Shane III

WASHINGTON — Just days after Defense Secretary Jim Mattis announced he would step down from that post in late February, President Donald Trump announced he would push the popular Cabinet member out even earlier.

In a tweet Sunday morning, Trump announced that Deputy Secretary of Defense Patrick Shanahan will become acting secretary of defense starting Jan. 1. He praised the Pentagon’s second-in-command as having “a long list of accomplishments” and added, “He will be great!”

The move cuts short Mattis’ tenure by two months, and adds to an acrimonious end of the relationship between the commander in chief and his top military leader.

On Thursday, Mattis in a resignation letter told Trump he was making the move to allow the president to find “a secretary of defense whose views are better aligned with yours.”

He said his February departure date was designed to minimize disruption on the department during the leadership transition.

But Mattis’ criticism of Trump’s national security policies in the letter — in opposition to his announced withdrawal of U.S. forces from Syria and his past negative comments towards U.S. foreign allies — clearly irked Trump, leading to the early dismissal.

On Saturday, Trump appeared to fire back at Mattis on social media, tweeting that “when President Obama ingloriously fired Jim Mattis, I gave him a second chance. Some thought I shouldn’t, I thought I should.”

In a statement after Sunday’s announcement, Defense Department spokesman Army Col. Rob Manning said only that “the secretary of defense serves at the pleasure of the president. The department remains focused on national security.”

Mattis remains popular among lawmakers on Capitol Hill and the armed forces. A Military Times poll conducted in late September found that nearly 84 percent of troops had a favorable view of his work leading the armed forces. Among officers, the figure was almost 90 percent.

But Mattis’ relationship with Trump had appeared to sour in recent months as the president pushed for more aggressive military policies.

Pentagon officials appeared caught unaware by sudden decisions made in the Oval Office on forming a new Space Force, sending troops to the southern U.S. border, and banning transgender recruits from the ranks.

Most recently, Trump’s decisions to begin massive troop withdrawals in the Middle East and Afghanistan seemed to go against military commanders’ advice.

Shanahan, who is among the candidates to permanently replace Mattis, is now in a position to drive changes he’s championed as Mattis’ deputy.

The former Boeing executive in his current role has pushed for systemic changes to the acquisition system that pushes the Pentagon’s focus away from annual budget cycles and more on making programs successful.

“Too often we focus on process, or budget, or level of effort,” Shanahan told Defense News in an earlier interview. “The Pentagon should focus on outcomes and outputs — our performance. This focus on performance should drive us to field unmatched lethality, execute on our modernization plans and achieve this affordably.”

He has also focused on eliminating duplicative programs — for example, situations where the Army and Air Force both have a need for a similar system and develop unique solutions on their own, rather than joining up and creating a single system that can be used department-wide.

In the past, services have pushed back on that idea because of the unique needs of, say, a Navy system designed to go to sea and survive the elements and sea-salt air, or an Army system designed to work on land.

Shanahan has risen to the top of the list of likely successors to permanently replace the now-fired Mattis, partly because of his business background and good relationships with both Trump and Vice President Mike Pence.

But Shanahan has clashed with some in the Pentagon who say he’s is too focused on having meetings, sucking up staff time without having many concrete victories to point to, according to officials who have worked with him who spoke to Defense News.

  43. If memory serves Mattis resigned. All Trump has done is to say he can leave the office arly because his sensibilities have been ruptured.

    Do you understand the point?

  44. there is something that you and people like mattis dont understand

like him or not TRUMP IS POTUS

RESIGN RETIRED FIRED WHAT EVER……….MATTIS GONE JUST LIKE THE OIL MAN THAT THOUGHT HE KNEW EVERYTHING

MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT MATTIS IS NOT CHRIST!

THE US SHIP OF STATE WAS SUPPOSED TO HAVE SUNK TWO YEARS AGO
    BUT DESPITE

    TRUMP IS STILL THERE!

    I ADMIRE HIS RESOLVE!
NEXT YEAR HE WILL REPLACE WITCH GINSBURG AMIDST MUCH FUN AND FEEBLE BUT FERVENT FURRY FROM THE LEFT

  45. BORDER WALL VOTES PUT VULNERABLE DEMOCRATIC SENATORS AT RISK
    Steven Ahle

In 2020, the Senate could move even farther in the favor of the Republicans, thanks to the votes already taken and the votes yet to come. The wall is popular among the majority of Americans.

It would be even more popular if the people taking the poll would explain to their subjects, how much their taxes will have to be raised to pay for unlimited immigration.

Currently, there are three Senators in particular that are at risk because of the wall. Alabama, New Hampshire, and Michigan with Senators Jones, Sheehan and Peters. Jones is probably a goner no matter what. The false accusations of Judge Roy Moore and the false flag Russia campaign delivered the win to him, but he won’t have that in 2020.

Sheehan has won election twice, both times by razor-thin margins. Other Senators could also be vulnerable but is not obvious at this time.

    From Breitbart News

With a vote on the budget resolution now up for consideration, it remains unclear if the Senate will act. and if it does act, how it will act, prior to the anticipated shutdown of all non-essential government services when the clock hits midnight Friday night, December 21.

President Trump’s 2016 electoral college victories in Alabama and Michigan, and his close call in New Hampshire, were powered by voter approval for his agenda, at the top of which was the number one priority to “Build the Wall.”

All three Democrats will now find themselves on the same ballot in 2020 as the president, whose position on that key issue was so popular with voters in 2016, an issue which they are now on the record opposing.

Republicans in all three states–who were already chomping at the bit to take on these vulnerable senators–now have explosive campaign material with which to launch withering attacks on two of the incumbents, and before the shutdown drama ends may have material to use against the third, Jones of Alabama.

Though Democrats took back the majority in the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterm elections with a net gain of 40 seats, Republicans strengthened their hold on the Senate.

The Senate is the bigger prize because they are the ones who approve presidential nominations for the cabinet and the courts.

BUT BY THEN THE WHEELS WOULD HAVE FALLEN COMPLETELY OFF …NOT SO?

  46. Trump Leading Us to Armageddon?
    Dustin KoellhofferDecember 24, 2018

5,000,000 Americans will DIE on Christmas Day! It’s ARMAGEDDON for America!

President Trump has shut down the federal government over the fight for the border wall with Democrats right before Christmas Day causing the deaths of millions of Americans. Children are dying of starvation. Old people are perishing in the cold of their unheated homes. Poor people are dying in the streets! Another 50,000,000 Central Americans are going to die in the coming days all because the eeeevil Donald “The racist Nazi Grinch that stole Xmas” Trump shut down the government and closed the border. President Donald J. Trump even caused the baby Jesus seeking refuge to die and killed the Savior!

This is the kind of poopy spewing from the mouths of Democrats who are going batsh*t crazy, jumping up and down like naked apes who were told they couldn’t get any more bananas from Central America. They run their half of the government just like a banana republic. This is just a pittance of the hysteria being vomited by Democrats over President Trump demanding Congress fund the wall. In two years, Republicans have failed to do so due to the RINOs in their midst. Now, thanks to their massive voter fraud and smear campaigns, Democrats are retaking the House, and both Pelosi and Schumer are mocking Trump in the belief that they just poked him in the eye on his signature issue.

Democrats, who have been quipping that Trump “feels the walls closing in” are now cavorting about claiming that “Trump stands alone.” They mock him saying, “He’ll never get ‘his wall.’” Well, it’s not “Trump’s Wall.” It’s America’s wall to defend against invading criminals, terrorists, and drug dealers. Only Democrats want those people in the USA as their slave labor along with drugs dealers to keep half their base stupefied while they profit from it all. (The other half of their base they can count on to vote for what is wrong for America.) They ignore the 75% of Americans that demand border security. They say it is only Trump’s base they claim only makes up just 25% of the country that wants this. Democrats are the ones going to find themselves out in the cold as Trump’s wall falls on them. They are going to get more than they bargained for against his great determination. He will beat them at their own game as they play fast and lose with American citizen’s money at the expense of our lives.

Trump Takes Pelosi and Schumer to Task

Trump played like a wounded animal and once again has lured Democrats into a false sense of security. What they have actually done is poked the bear. It’s a battle to the death and Democrats once again came to a battle of wits and wills with Trump and they are still unarmed. One thing Trump has proven is, if you mess with the bull, you get the horns. The problem with liberal Democrats is that they suffer from an inmate immaturity that leads to the development of psychoses. You see them on the road when you pass them and, suddenly, they think they’re in “Fast and Furious.”

They are children who suffer from penis envy wanting to prove they are superior to others. It is the nature of the righteous to build people up, while it is the nature of leftists to tear others down to their level. They are inherently immoral, suffering from the sins of greed and envy far more so than most. That’s why Pelosi and Schumer try to diminish President Trump by mocking his manhood because they can never debate the righteous on the merit of their arguments. But the great man slaps them down like the petty thugs they are and pushes righteousness upon them to their dismay. Then, like Wile E. Coyote or Yosemite Sam, they orchestrate their own destruction. At this point it’s do or die and, as he has done with North Korea, Canada, Mexico, and China, President Trump the Great Negotiator knows when he holds the cards and the other side is bluffing.

    Democrat hysterics

Leftist fools are falling all over themselves trying to get in front of cameras to declare Trump to be an evil hater of brown people. They even have idiots saying that, “Baby Jesus died on the way from Guatemala.” Yes, Guttierez, we know Hispanics have a penchant for naming their children after Jesus, but that doesn’t make any of them the next Savior. Perhaps, Senior Guttierez, if you tried reading the Bible that you leftist, God-hating atheists try to lecture Christians on what Jesus would do, then you wouldn’t say such stupid things. How two-faced are they that they believe they can shame the righteous while they cheer for killing tens of millions of babies in the womb?

The righteous American people have gotten so disgusted with Democrat’s naked lies and their media’s spewing hate and poison, slandering Trump Republicans as racist Nazis, fear-mongering the end of the world from global warming, and promoting their socialist tyranny as benevolent, that listening to Democrats invoke the name of Jesus is both amusing and disgusting. They always cherry pick the morality tale that suits their own selfish, greedy, nefarious purpose and then warp the meaning to their own twisted nature. How do they convince themselves they have credibility in speaking of the teachings of Christ when they reject His teachings on every level? From abortion to Islam, liberals wouldn’t know Jesus if He walked up to them and slapped them in the face. But they would certainly cheer at His crucifixion.

We see these invaders from the south coming just as predicted, putting women and children in the front lines of their battles with the border patrol for publicity purposes. When that didn’t work, a man saying he was the father of a little girl starved her to death and crossed the border to give her to the patrol just before she died to blame them. Now he and the leader of the invaders, a known terrorist, are demanding tens of thousands of dollars for every invader to turn around and go home. These people are not refugees. They are bandits akin to the Mongol raiders of the Middle Ages.

The left wouldn’t know righteousness if it fell on their heads and sang, “Oh come all ye faithful.” They are as lacking in understanding morality as they are in understanding patriotism. Democrats cry about the shut down as if it will hurt anyone besides themselves. What would be right is if Democrats in Congress didn’t receive their paychecks, retirement, or back pay they enjoy all on the taxpayer’s dime. Let Ocasio-Cortez sleep in the streets with the people she wants to import and cry that she, too, is a refugee. Schumer and Pelosi keep saying, “Walls don’t work.” They call it “immoral and ineffective and costly.” So why do they have walls up around their houses? Why aren’t they inviting illegals to live with them? Could it be because they make places into socialist toilets akin to their homelands the way they have been doing to California?

Democrats want every dollar in the budget earmarked for their own benefit. They won’t make a budget with Trump unless they can extort billions from American taxpayers to support their sanctuary sh*tholes and line their own pockets. $10 trillion dollars in deficit spending under Obama given to their cronies and the Muslim Brotherhood wasn’t enough. The left is stealing power, stealing taxes, and stealing away this great country with their socialist frauds. They’re only willing to fund temporary measures they can override. Please, Mr. President, be the greatest president since Washington and crush the left! Put down their rabid dogs like Mueller, Pelosi, and Schumer, and write executive orders to institute strict federal voter ID. Give their socialist agenda the boot right out of America and have teachers start teaching American history again rather than the revisionist indoctrination that has been inflicted on our children.

“Suffer the little children to come to Me,” said Jesus. That doesn’t mean that stopping those who illegally steal across the border is standing against Jesus. Jesus didn’t order His apostles to open their homes to anyone that wanted to enter to steal from them. If you want to help children in other countries rather than American children who need help, then go to those countries and share your wealth. It is not charity to steal from American taxpayers and give money to invaders to be your welfare fraudulent voter slaves. President Trump – shut it down and take a vacation. You have already earned it! Democrats say they are the ones who made the economy boom. Let’s seen what happens now with them running half of Congress. We’ve already gotten a taste as the Stock Market tanks, the Fed raises rates, and Democrats vow to do nothing for Americans.
