Prime Minister Theresa May suffered an embarrassing defeat to her BREXIT package in parliament yesterday and will likely face a no Confidence motion later today. If she survives the no confidence motion she will have 70 days before the default clause kicks in to boot the UK from the EU.

What are her options? There is the obvious which is to ask for a delay. Another referendum seems silly. What is ominous for the Tories is that the business sector has separated itself from government’s position.

Across the globe there is a common trend; chaos – the inability of the political class to form partnerships, build coalitions to practice conflict resolutions to arrive at compromise positions.

It would require a Water Diviner, a top Senegalese Marabout, an Obeah woman from Benin and a Bajan Bushman, acting in unison, for Theresa Mary May to avoid her fate after the Brexit Deal is voted-down, on Tuesday, in the House of ‘Commons’.

We witnessed firsthand, on June 23, 2016, the British peoples in their majority voting to leave the European Union (EU) – approximately 52% to 48%. The referendum, promised by David Cameron, was a response to the overarching and historic dictatorial tendencies emanating from Brussels but also represented a reassertion of Whiteness and innate neo-fascist tendencies. It has now set a series of processes in place the enormity of which are having the unforeseen consequences few could have imagined.

And, we must admit, that the politics are very difficult on all sides. The main actors are the European Union (EU), the Conservative Party and their coalition partner, (the DUP) and the main opposition Labour Party.

May is facing all manner of rebellion within her ranks. The Democratic Unionist Party (DUP) a far-right, terrorist fringe has called for her resignation. In addition, she faces nay-votes from up to 100 of her own conservative colleagues. These include a number of pretenders to the primeministership – Jacob Rees-Mogg, Boris Johnson, el al.

Not even the last-minute suggestion of a second referendum as part of her proposals to parliament is likely to be sufficient to galvanize enough support from a difficult coalition of conservatives, the DUP, the Blairist labour MPs, and others, to save May’s Brexit Deal. These suggest a most likely ‘Brexit without a deal’, given the calendar and assuming all other political forces ‘remain’ equal, no pun intended.

The man who could be British prime minister by Christmas, Jeremy Corbyn, also has long-running discord within the ranks of the Labour Party with Tony Blair loyalists and ‘EU remainers’ like Chuka Umunna continuing to provide Corbyn with all manner of contrived hurdles include the accusation that Corbyn was an anti-Semite. What a canard!

The EU for its part faces growing geopolitical and internal crises which together may suggest its beginning of the end. However, its outward determination presents a stalwartness aimed at keeping the troops (other EU countries) in line by shooting a general, the UK, in a public place. They, the EU, are unyielding. Suggesting that no other Brexit deal than that already negotiated with Theresa May will be possible after a no-vote in the ‘Commons’, as a further constraint to popular perceptions about sovereignty.

Of course, the sub-plots are the issues relating to Scotland, the re-unification of Ireland, the rekindling of relationships with former colonial possessions, international trading arrangements with major countries etc. All of these are casting uncertainty about the future for both ‘little’ and ‘big’ England. Even in May’s Brexit Deal issues pertaining to the Customs Union, borders, nationality and others ‘remain’ unclear.

We present three (3) possible scenarios that are likely to end this crisis in the short term, though politics pretends to be about making the impossible, possible, some say. These are all predicated on the assumption that Theresa May will be defeated in the House of ‘Commons’ tomorrow.

First, that a general election will be called and that Labour will win but that Corbyn would continue to find Brexiting a difficult proposition. This explains his well-known tactic of neither fully supporting nor fully opposing Brexit in principle.

Second, that the coalition led by May will force her resignation and that one of the pretenders mentioned earlier will assume its leadership. In these circumstances, we see no overt determination to leave the EU if staying remains slightest possibility. This will be a win for Brussels.

Third, and this is the most unlikely scenario, that a radical transplantation occurs in British politics. With this, we ‘may’ see Blairist forces within Labour join with EU ‘remainers’ in the Conservative Party and others to form a new ruling bloc.

As the political undertakers plane the wood for May’s coffin the leading pallbearers, on all sides, are marshalling their forces to be the first at body. Still, it remains uncertain who will get to control the carcass, and what it will mean to be British for the peoples of these islands in the North Atlantic.

    Interesting text.

Do you see the turbulence in France helping to flavor positions in anyway?

  2. I have never read such a miss informed sensation seeking article – statements like the reunification of Ireland and Corbyn being PM by Xmas, clearly show the writers ignorance and lack of understanding of the UK’s political process.
Worry about your own internal issues and leave Brexit to those whom it affects.

    But shiite….
….Brexit has ballooned into a chronic case of shooting oneself in the donkey …. and dying from the loss of blood and the infection…

….Trump has taken the USA into the very bowels of the global septic system – such that Uncle Sam now has no time (or appetite) to malicious into the business of other countries as it previously did…. as it self-destructs.

….Canada just kicked a sleeping monster in the groin with the arrest of a Chinese businesswoman on some shiite charge about USA sanctions…

Our problems bout here pale into insignificance against the jobby currently being deposited on the streets of these big-shot countries (and more – we can’t ignore France and Germany…)

  9. First off, the DUP is not a Far Right institution, their main raison-d’etre is to keep the North and South of Ireland as far apart as possible constitutionally – the North as an integral part of the UK and the South as the Irish Republic.

Typically the Conservatives in large part have always been against us being in the EU – “We don’t need no stinking EU” then blaming the EU for all our problems by not caving in to our demands.

Trade deals – We can’t send the gunboats up the Yangtze to force the Chinese to buy the Opium from Afghanistan, Take the tea from the East to the American colonies in order for them to pay taxes that resulted in the Boston Tea Party and the American revolution. Now we are being told about the golden opportunities for trade deals with a string of countries without spelling out what is envisaged.
Looking at the present state of done deals – British Steel as was, now renamed UK Steel and owned by Indian conglomerate Tata Steel who are only here because the government has relieved them of the pension “burden” which means the company’s pensioners suffer.
There is a nuclear power station down south to be built, funded by a French Government owned company and built by the Chinese. The payback is to last over decades and at onerous rates.
Toshiba started building the one in the North, that’s frozen and they are looking for some other company to buy that from them – in the end the British government will have to offer large incentives to get anyone else to take it on.

Immigration has always been needed and always has been a rallying call by the Tories to gain or retain power. It has served them well whenever they feel the electorate may be getting tired of them. I am sure a goodly slice of the voters for Brexit did so thinking they would at last be getting rid of the foreigners. Amongst others, a lady TV news reader here in the Midlands was abused in the street in Coventry, being told to get back to her country, the lady is of Mixed race and born here in Britain.

They had blocked 100 Indian doctors from taking up appointments here until the hospitals went on TV highlighting the problem this was causing. BTW all recognize the need for the highly skilled migrants that are vital to the British economy, the same migrants who may find they get abused and complained about when they reside here.

Last week it was announced that Commonwealth citizens will no longer have to qualify for UK residency in order to join the British Forces – a sign that recruitment is going well.

All in all there could be a cunning plan – remember the Empire was built on the labour of a goodly slice of the planet (slaves/subjects, etc.) and there is a need to return to that state of affairs – this time the ex-colonies, dominions, protectorates, etc. over which Britain once ruled, it is hoped can be persuaded to earn their money and dump it in London for our benefit – Sounds like it and damn clever if it all comes to fruition.

    @ Sid Boyce,

As a UK Bajan Brit I can only challenge your final paragraph. I am not convinced that the pull of the “mother country” no longer chimes with those from the commonwealth. There is a long history of Caribbeans who came to the UK during the sixties and seventies only to quit the country to head for the greener pastures of the USA, Canada and even Australia. They argued that that their quality of life was poor and that there were better opportunities to be had in a more modern country.

The UK will find it very difficult to penetrate other major trading blocks without conceding some form of sovereignty.

I have always argued that Britain made a terrible mistake dumping and neglecting countries from the commonwealth. Britain’s best interests still lies with her commonwealth.

  11. Comrade Hal Austin, come forward and let us know what is happening in your chosen land. You can’t plea ignorance and stay silent.

  12. The Brexit debacle is a prime example of venal politicians deciding that their employers are too stupid, uneducated, racist, and old to know what they are doing, and deciding that THEY, the political scum should deny democracy in order to keep their snouts in the Great Eurotrough that underwrites filth like the BBC.
    It will not end well.
TLSN is right – Britain (or its bottom feeding political class) made a huge error in selling out the Commonwealth for a mess of potage – just like they did with Ian Smith. Heath was a pervert, and a traitor. Major is a nasty llittle wife-betrayer and traitor, Blair a megalomaniac traitor, Brown a moronic traitor, Cameron a cowardly traitor, and May a mendacious traitor.
These scum would fit well in the West Indies.,

  13. @S|idboyce

The DUP (Ian Paisley’s party)is so far right that it makes that old German chancellor look like a boy scout. When we think of the Irish-Scots, who we now call Protestants, think KKK and the Wild West.
However, to the substantive issue: Brexit is the biggest example of how a once proud nation could commit economic suicide. The ECJ has now given Britain a way out, by permitting them to withdraw Article 50 without any penalty. They should take it with both hands. But then again Brexit was driven by petty racism, a soft kind of nationalism that even in little Barbados is raising its ugly head. The Referendum vote was an anti-black vote. Even so, a higher percentage of black people voted to remain than of whites.
Theresa May should withdraw Article 50, and campaign for a United States of Europe, and for greater trade with China. The US is history.
While we are at it, only last week, or the week before, someone came on BU talking about launching small companies that would bring in foreign currency.
That such nonsense is taken seriously in BU makes me smile; remember, only 10 per cent of the tens of thousands of UK businesses export – to the big wide world.

  14. “The ECJ has now given Britain a way out, by permitting them to withdraw Article 50 without any penalty. They should take it with both hands.”
Are you mad Hal? The Fourth Reich of the EUSSR is soon going to be history, just like the Third Reich before it, and Germany will taste the sweet smell of defeat once again, along with their cheese-eating surrender monkey friends..

  15. @45Govt,

The answer to the coming war between the US and China is the EU. As I have said, the US is a declining power ruled by a Fascist and China is an inward-looking nationalistic undemocratic nation. We cannot continue to sit on the fence in Europe; we must take sides. A United States of Europe is the alternative.

  17. Drivel Hal, not like you at all. Have you even studied the subject? The fascists are the unelected gauleiters of the EU, NOT Trump. A United States of Europe is a fascist pipe-dream, we have been here before – they are like a sack full of ferrets. HISTORY man, study it.
We must indeed take sides – against this monstrosity, which claims to have kept the peace in Europe, whereas we all know that was NATO, in SPITE of them, not because of them.

  20. Victory in Europe was 72 years ago, The war with Germany was finally over after 6 years of bloodshed. Approximately 382,700 members of the British Armed Forces and 67,100 British civilians lost their lives in the battle to bring freedom to Europe. The war literally left Britain bankrupt but they didn’t complain…..they then spent many years helping to feed, house and resettle millions of European refugees…helping to rebuild Germany and many other European countries….YET, just 72 years later these ingrates stand united against Britain vowing to punish her for daring to stand against them and their mad adventures.
Britain’s ‘crime; is simply wishing to remain a sovereign, independent nation….something those Europeans relied upon 72 years ago to save THEm. How quickly they forget.

  21. GP – you are dribbling.

  22. So are you Hal – shame, you used to exhibit signs of sanity.

  23. @45Govt,

If we look at the similarities of history between the wars we will see a lot of things we may find interesting. In the 1920s the US pursued an isolationist policy and vicious economic nationalism. It withdrew from active participation in the League of Nations, and pursued its America First policy. Sounds familiar?
In Europe we had Hindenburg, who encouraged the Fascists on the mistaken belief that German conservatives may be able to remove them at some point and hold on to power.
Last week Nigel Farage resigned from UKIP, after its new leader Batten drew Tommy Robinson in to its fold. Is history repeating itself?
Let us look at little Barbados: Hindenburg and his supporters first launched an attack on the Communist party, then on freedom of speech, the press, and assembly.
In Barbados we are now witnessing an attack on trade unionism and the nation remains silent; we have a prime minister who is talking of people ‘sabotaging’ her policies; whoooaaaa. We have been here before.
Then we have the constitutional balance of powers: a 30/0 parliament, which is now formally a 29/1; one of the first things this government did was to amend the constitution so chosen children could sit in the Senate; this is called an abuse of power. I can go on, but I am sure you got the point.
In 1935, Sinclair Lewis wrote a novel “It Can’t Happen Here”. Read it.

  24. I am sorry Hal – any fool who believes in a beneficent United States of Europe with all the evidence before them, is incapable of sentient thought. The latest UNELECTED gauleiter, loathed even by his own side, is one Martin Selmayr aka The Beast of Berlaymont, a Britain-hating German Neo-Nazi whose filthy old grandaddy served 15 years for war crimes, and who now wants to take over the Brexit negotiations. Are you even awake?

  25. @45Govt,
And the United States of America? Plse remind me, who elected the CARICOM politicians? Maybe I am asleep, but May should abandon the nonsense of Brexit.

  26. DANIEL 2: 40 ET SECQ
YOU ALL CAN READ IT AND SCOFF AND MOCK
BUT JUST AS THE PREDICTIONS IN THE EARLIER PART OF THIS CHAPTER WERE ALL FULFILLED AS PREDICTED, SO TOO WILL THE PREDICTIONS IN THESE VERSES ALSO COME TO PASS

I KNOW THAT YOU WONT HEAR THIS IN THE MAIN STREAM DENOMINATION CHURCHES

BUT PERHAPS YOU SHOULD FOLLOW THE EXAMPLE OF THE KING

And the fourth kingdom shall be strong as iron: forasmuch as iron breaketh in pieces and subdueth all things: and as iron that breaketh all these, shall it break in pieces and bruise.

41 And whereas thou sawest the feet and toes, part of potters’ clay, and part of iron, the kingdom shall be divided; but there shall be in it of the strength of the iron, forasmuch as thou sawest the iron mixed with miry clay.

42 And as the toes of the feet were part of iron, and part of clay, so the kingdom shall be partly strong, and partly broken.

43 And whereas thou sawest iron mixed with miry clay, they shall mingle themselves with the seed of men: but they shall not cleave one to another, even as iron is not mixed with clay.

44 And in the days of these kings shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed: and the kingdom shall not be left to other people, but it shall break in pieces and consume all these kingdoms, and it shall stand for ever.

45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.

46 Then the king Nebuchadnezzar fell upon his face, and worshipped Daniel, and commanded that they should offer an oblation and sweet odours unto him.

  27. These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.

18 But the saints of the most High shall take the kingdom, and possess the kingdom for ever, even for ever and ever.

    19 Then I would know the truth of the fourth beast, which was diverse from all the others, exceeding dreadful, whose teeth were of iron, and his nails of brass; which devoured, brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with his feet;

20 And of the ten horns that were in his head, and of the other which came up, and before whom three fell; even of that horn that had eyes, and a mouth that spake very great things, whose look was more stout than his fellows.

    21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them;

22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.

23 Thus he said, The fourth beast shall be the fourth kingdom upon earth, which shall be diverse from all kingdoms, and shall devour the whole earth, and shall tread it down, and break it in pieces.

24 And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.

25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

26 But the judgment shall sit, and they shall take away his dominion, to consume and to destroy it unto the end.

27 And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the saints of the most High, whose kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and all dominions shall serve and obey him.

28 Hitherto is the end of the matter. As for me Daniel, my cogitations much troubled me, and my countenance changed in me: but I kept the matter in my heart.

  28. @Talking Loud
Before we joined the farmers were complaining about the beef coming in from Australia and the lamb from New Zealand. We thought we had a deal to supply TSR2 bombers to Australia then the US offered them the F104 flying coffins causing the Wilson Government to scrap TSR2 – no Commonwealth to sell to, India preferred and still prefer Russian fighters and bombers.
Some people are not happy until they are unhappy, they need the raised blood pressure.

I don’t see anyone doing us trade deals that are advantageous to us as they know we’ll sooner or later want to renege on any deals.
@Hal — We have the perfect storm, brewed with pompousness and jingoism. May has the burning ember in hand and all around her are providing a fan each so there is no way she can drop it, 1. for fear of burning the house down and 2. they won’t let her get near the door to throw it outside – To the great British electorate “Another fine mess you got us into” – apologies to Laurel and Hardy.
@45Govt — It’s not the EU trying to push Britain out, it’s Britain expecting everything to be given on a plate together with knife, fork and spoon.

  29. United States of Europe-slightly off topic.

Used to be a favourite topic of Herbert W Armstrong of the World Wide Church of God which was broadcast on Reddifusion at approximately 10.00 am each weekday. Herbert’s son Garner Ted also used to fill in for his father from time to time. Armstrong preached that it signaled a biblical prediction about the return of Christ. The Church also published a magazine called “The Plain Truth” which I was told was “free” to any subscriber, come to think Reddifusion featured many American televangelists in its Sunday programming, one that comes to mind is a broadcast from the “Church in the Wildwood”, this continued until local preachers e.g. Rev. Gentles took over.

  30. The broadcast was called “The World Tomorrow”

  31. “The Plain Truth” was indeed a “free” well produced magazine with an eschatological slant, ecept that he presented a theology of British domination in which he suggested that the lion in Daniel’s prophecies was Great Britain because the lion is one of the British emblems.

This interpretation is at variance with most eschatologists who correctly posit that the lion in Daniel’s prophecies was Rome. This is supported by history.

What a load of puerile drivel.. Britain has a HUGE trade imbalance with the Fourth Reich which they, of course, are desperate to keep, so of COURSE they don’t want Britain to leave their fascist construct. – who else will pay for their follies, and take in all the barbarian migrants Mutti has imported? In Britain there are homeless veterans sleeping on the streets, while African parasites are given homes, money and treated like some sort of God-given miracle – all because of the freedom of movement cr*p, and a virtue-signaling white liberal class and their assumed guilt.

None of you lot seem to understand democracy – when your elected govt ASKS you what to do, and you tell them, it is TREASON to fail to carry out the people’s demands. That is why the creature Blair repealed the treason laws.
Always follow the money – and the money is in that great, unregulated Eurotrough which the political class can look forward to – THAT is why they despise the people and their sensible decision to leave the sinking ship, NOT from any sense of duty, honour, or love of country – they have NONE..

When the PM offers you a referendum with the CAST IRON GUARANTEE to implement the result, what part of that do you not understand?
    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++
How is this an issue… if the SAME people are now asked in another referendum to confirm their earlier decision
-now that many more DETAILS are available about the various options, consequences and costs?

It would seem to Bushie that this is the ESSENCE of democracy … and probably what government SHOULD be routinely about.

Do you know that in the co-operative movement, the members can call a referendum AT ANY TIME, …ON ANY TOPIC – and make , or change, decisions as they see fit…?

Your argument (and the shiite that Theresa May responded with when asked about a new referendum) sounds like so much fluff…..

Please help Bushie to understand this..

  40. David

Tried to respond yesterday but had a freeze.

Had indicated a post scriptum was necessary because of the withdrawal of the Commons vote by Theresa May and a EU Court verdict, after our time of submission.

We see others have so updated. Meaning May’s intervention and the European Court decision about Article 50 and the right of the UK to so reverse. These were to some extent game changers, in the short term at least, and will certainly widen the options now at play. Maybe even depressurize the government in some ways about the March 29 deadline.

To respond to your question more directly.

We see the Yellow Vest Movement in France pregnant with possibilities for contagion. In the UK, non-governing actors will most likely be the primary beneficiaries. Meaning Labour, the neo-fascists currents, smaller centrist parties.

Singularly, the Yellow Vest Movement seems to be the best advertisement for Labour which in membership terms has already become the largest political party in Europe by far under Corbyn’s leadership.

Should it maintain its momentum several establishment ruling parties could tumble like dominoes as austerity economic policies really start to bite deep.

Maybe Barbados and MAM should be watching this site (BU) for the untelevised revolution against the IMF and her BERT.

  43. Bushie, let me be your guide out of the darkness…a referendum, or plebiscite is literally a decree of the common people.
One would think that with all the treacherous, anti-people shennanigans carried out in Bim since independence, you lot would, of all people, see the point of that. Talk of second referendums is bollox, what do you want, best of three, five, or annually?
When the minister asks do you?, and you say I do, that is IT. No second thoughts, until divorce proceedings, which Britain has instituted against the criminally corrupt fascist EUSSR.
Britain is NOT a co-operative movement but the world’s oldest and most stable democracy. I didn’t like the criminal creature Blair being e;elected, but I accepted it as a democratic result…..THREE times. What is it about the hard Left that they think those principles don’t apply to them? Oh, and before you question that, YES, it is the Left and their Common Purpose, Soros-backed globalist lackeys who hate any input from the despised little people.

PS – @ Lexicon – it is BRITAIN, NOT ENGLAND.
