It is amazing the more educated we have become the more the beatitudes that should inform Christian behaviour and values are seemingly forgotten. For the evangelicals and the Conservatives Donald Trump is right because he conforms with the pro-life view and has aligned the SCOTUS to achieve this end, he ‘supports’ the Jews reflected in his decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Other examples abound.

Does it matter that President Trump is a card carrying adulterer?

That his imperfections have been recorded for world citizens to hear AND see?

His blatant disrespect for women?

His mocking of the differently able and on it goes. Clearly he is a man and therefore not perfect. What is missing from these so called Christians that support Trump is the unwillingness to hold him accountable for his behaviour that contradicts Christian teachings.

Given the influence Trump has as  president of the USA domestically and geopolitically,  the blogmaster as a world citizen worries how it will all translate in time to come. The latest news about the unexploded bombs addressed to prominent actors who are critics of Trump AND the shooting of Jews worshipping in a Pittsburg synagogue support a reasonable conclusion that words uttered by Trump matter.

Monitoring the two stories in the US media over the last couple of days it seems political commentators are reluctant to blame Trump as the person who must bear some blame for Cesar Altier Sayoc and the other nut job for feelign emboldened to terrorize the US space.The blogmaster is not so inhibited. He has been an immature, incompetent and bombastic political leader who has done nothing to improving the lot of mankind given the influence of the USA on world affairs.

Trump should watch the following interview with Rabbi Jeffrey Myers and by guided.

    Trump is carrying the US down the same road that the DLP took Barbados. The US economy will be in tatters when he is finished. Add to that, his stirring of racial hatred has now spewed over, as expected, with the Jewish people now targets as much as the Mexicans, Africans etc.

    They did not learn from what happened before. They saw an ally in Trump, but did not understand the white nationalist mentality properly.

    In any other country, the US would have vilified a leader who preached such insularity.

    But democracy is selective. We can be democratic, but we must be so according to ‘their rules’.

    But at least his actions are protecting the interests of the Rothshilds, Rockefellers etc, which is why he was placed there.

    Great for them, not so great for everyone else.

    Funny thing is that the little nincompoops who run to his support, with their back country farm in debt and one run down pickup truck, cannot see that they are being used by the extreme wealthy, for solidification of that wealth.

    All those fools hear is that ‘the Mexicans will take your job’.

    No, the Mexicans are smarter, harder working, so any job that the Mexicans do, the hicks will not.

    But we know that.

    America Divided – But Not By Trump

    Despite the bluster of the left, Trump may be the most unifying president in U.S. history.

    Most left-leaning media outlets consistently chant the mantra that President Donald Trump is highly polarizing. But does merely repeating this make it true? Not only are they wrong, there’s strong evidence that the opposite could be the case. When understood correctly, Trump may well be the most unifying president in the nation’s history.

    At first glance, this seems like an outlandish idea. The U.S. is indeed divided, and someone is polarizing the country. But is it Trump?

    Consider the overwhelmingly positive news: The economy is booming, unemployment is plummeting, and black employment is at record high levels. ISIS is decimated, North Korea appears to be serious about denuclearization, Trump is signing improved trade deals, and the world once more respects the U.S. So why then is almost all media coverage of Trump hostile and negative?

    Not since the Civil War has a president needed to fight a more divisive adversary.

    The Enemy Media
    A recent study found that only 8% of Americans identify as “progressive activists” — politically active people whose beliefs fundamentally conflict with traditional U.S values. Yet it’s clear that most media outlets fill exactly this role. Consequently, they don’t represent the people and are hostile to the ideas to which most Americans adhere. The press, in general, is undemocratic and anti-American. Or in the president’s words: They are the enemy of the people.

    When evaluating Trump, we need to adjust for the massive propaganda machine that hurls fake news at him. It is not unreasonable to assume that the media can move the needle of opinion by 20%. Considering this, the fact that Donald Trump is now more popular than Barrack Obama was at the same phase in his presidency shows what a genuinely unifying figure he is – so much so that he can overcome the collective influence of the magnificent Fourth Estate.

    The numbers are even more impressive when we look at a minority that has traditionally felt disenchanted in America: blacks. In a recent Rasmussen poll, the black approval rating of Trump had surged to a whopping 40%.

    This is nothing short of a political awakening. Not since blacks left the party of Lincoln out of desperation and voted in droves for President Franklin D. Roosevelt in the 1930s has there been a more significant voter movement in the black community.

    Mexican Rapists
    Consider what progressives hold as one of the most divisive and hateful political statements in U.S. history: Trump’s infamous Mexican rapist speech. In what world is it divisive to want to put America first and to protect all her citizens against illegal aliens who may be violent criminals?

    It is understandable that those who do not feel like Americans may be hurt by the facts about the inordinate amount of crime coming across the southern border, but Trump never promised to unite Mexico.

    America First
    As Trump’s policies are starting to take effect, ever more Americans are waking up to their fundamentally unifying effect. While Obama was managing the decline, Trump is stopping the cultural and economic hemorrhage, and the U.S. is starting to win again.

    More Americans are beginning to see through the fake news, and when the Mueller probe finally lays the Russia conspiracy theory to rest after the midterm election, Trump’s approval rating is likely to rise sharply.

    Not since the Civil War has a president needed to fight a more divisive adversary, and that makes his accomplishments even more impressive. Given what he has managed in only two years, imagine what he can do in the next six.

    What? The caravan of brown people? Tell me who lived in the “Americas” first. – the white people or the brown people? Who drew these borders up and under whose authority? Why try to behave as if these PEOPLE are some kind of undesirable aliens? Why demonize people who are, most of them, just trying to find a better life? It is obvious that the clock cannot be turned back and so there must be control of the borders as is but why dehumanize these PEOPLE? What is wrong with you so-called CHRISTIANS? Is this what Jesus would say? No wonder the young people reject Christianity! Who would want to be Christian when you are the example?

    I described the human condition, it doesn’t matter what colour!!

    There is no such thing as a black mind.

    That’s why there is a whole set of commandments in the Bible dealing with the vicissitudes of life.

    For example:

    “Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.”

    In a group of humans, there will always be diverse skills because that is just how God made us.

    Just as some will have faith that is stronger than others or will obey his commandments more closely than others there will always be some who are “made for” some of the serious challenges of life and who will get through/survive a challenging period wit their families and lives intact.

    There will be those who will covet the successes of others just s there will be those who will marvel at the progress others make with God’s help and learn from the example.

    An old timer who worked with my family once arrived to work doubled up in stitches of laughter.

    She is in her real high 90’s now.

    This individual could bring verses of the bible to bear on life’s problems in a way I never understood at the time but do now.

    She was laughing because a tractor driver walking to work with her had announced to her his own brand of special wisdom.

    “What is the point of having a good mind when a bad one will do”!!

    One of her favorite sayings which I only recently realised came verbatim from the Bible was “Wisdom is too high for a fool”!!

    You would think the tractor driver had skills far beyond those possessed by the labourer who at the time I came to know her was over 65 and retired but still willing and able to work.

    I think Trump will go down as one of the greatest presidents America has ever had mainly because of what he inherited and his attempts to right the ship of state.

    I have not been following BU for a few weeks now and on logging in last night was amazed to see this Trump blog and the huge interest it evoked. I only looked at the first chapter of posts so I will apologize here if someone has already commented on the unique nature of Trump. I’ll try to read the remaining posts today.

    Here’s my 2 cents worth.

    Trump and the spineless GOP establishment have conspired to bring America and, because of America’s power and other attributes, the Earth itself close to the brink of almost unimaginable danger and existential changes.

    Trump is an almost unique human being, nurtured by a unique combination of innate negative attributes, wealth, history of surmounting all obstacles, tunnel vision and always eventually having his own way in everything. IMHO his successes cannot be attributed to something intrinsic in his abilities and willpower. He is nothing less than an imperfect avatar of the coming hard times.

    That he has succeeded, against almost all odds, to propel the US to the unlikely position that he now has, suggests to me that he will be guided and assisted to bring further chaos. THings will not get better. The genie is out of the bottle. Thus the Mid Term Elections will likely result in conditions favourable to his agenda and an acceleration of significant changes in that there could be asymetric chaos caused by his losing the elections and he and his followers not accepting the results or, even worse, his winning them and then stepping up far reaching significant changes in the way the US and the World does business on all fronts.

    In either case, inept reactions by the Democratic establishment could exacerbate the problems.

    We are in extraordinarily perilous times.

    I hope I am wrong.

    Skill vs wisdom

    Sometimes who would be described as the least among us are the wisest, even if they may not have the skills others have!!

    Wealth vs Riches.

    Wealth, happiness often leads to riches but more often than not a rich person is often unhappy and poor!!

    I rubbed shoulders with many “black” Bajan adults on a day to day basis when I was growing up.

    I grew up on a plantation … plantations.

    In the early 90’s there were probably about 50 employed, in the 60’s when I came to know myself, there was probably twice that number.

    Who I did not know and had not had an interaction with I heard of through my elders who did.

    I knew skilled craftsmen from whom it was a joy to learn and talk to and also wise adults … mostly women … whose company I enjoyed.

    I remember particularly a carpenter who was also a tractor driver during the crop who taught me a lot.

    I knew the drunks who frittered away their weekly earnings at the rum shop on a Thursday night and then had to beg from others to get through the week to the next Thursday pay day.

    I knew women who had 14 children and more and men whose wives would scald them with hot water for being unfaithful when they slept.

    What is indisputable is the effects of trauma on culture, and these damaging effects are definitely transmitted across generations.

    Barbadian culture is terribly dysfunctional and those deficits are directly attributable to historical trauma. The racists try very hard to dispute this of course, but in so doing they simply expose their racism, no matter what the color of their skin.

    The former President is once again in the limelight spreading dissent about the president. Obama has been against Trump since practically day one but it could be since Trump has shown him up. Trump has done something his predecessor didn’t think possible with North Korea. So it is only natural that Obama would attack Trump. This time he claims that the incoming caravan is not a real threat.

    “They’re telling you the existential threat to America is a bunch of poor refugees a thousand miles away,” Obama said of Republicans, referencing the caravan of an estimated 4,000 Central American migrants headed toward the United States.

    “They’re even taking our brave troops away from their families for a political stunt at the border,” Obama added. “The men and women of our military deserve better than that. So they’re just constant fear-mongering to distract from the record.”

    “I’m hopeful that out of this political darkness we see a great awakening of citizenship all throughout this country.”

    Obama was likely expecting this would kill with a liberal audience but as it turns out there were some people in the crowd that didn’t appreciate his rhetoric. They heckled the former president.

    At first he was able to handle a couple hecklers but it soon became clear that they were getting under his skin when he made the following comment.

    “Here’s the deal, If you support the other candidates, then you should go support the other candidates. Don’t be here. “One of the things I never understood was why if you are supporting the other guy, you come to my rally,” Obama said. “Go to their rallies. Go talk about what you are for. Don’t go hollering here.”
