Your message to the BLOGMASTER was sent

The two main political parties held national political meetings on the penultimate weekend BEFORE the May 24 General Election. After wading through much of the rhetoric and palaver three questions peaked the inquiring mind of the blogmaster. Hopefully they will be answered in the public interest BEFORE the general election.

  • Why the haste to sell the Barbados Hilton hotel BEFORE the 24 May 2018?
  • What is the involvement of the candidate for the City Henderson Williams?

Go to 3:00hr point on the YouTube video to listen to Mia prosecute the Hilton matter.

  • Will Mia Mottley respond to the Benedict Peters charge levelled by the DLP platform?

See pre-action protocol letter sent to Sinckler from lawyer Leslie Haynes on behalf of Benedict Peters.

I cant even say am sorry, this man is a billionaire, he took on the Nigerian entity who tried to frame him, and won, you talk crap because ya on a political platform before GOOGLING as much information as ya can on him before talking rubbish, all the information on Peters is out there for everyone to access.

And all the yardfowls were on here chanting about boko haram, mimicking the idiots spreading the rumor, just wandering if barbadostoday got a letter too…

Hope he knows Haynes is also Harris’ lawyer.

And naturally this is the reaction you will get from Sinckler…not that the man has an international reputation to uphold, he problably has business interests in every cirner of the earthI did not check, but being a billionaure he maybe on Forbes list of billionaires and that boko haram accusation could damage his reputation if he dont make an example of Sinkler…I mean a real example.

I don’t see any politician or minister mouthing off to the minorities on the island like this…lol, lol..

“Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler Sunday night sought to make it clear to Nigerian businessman Benedict Peters and Barbados Labour Party (BLP) leader Mia Mottley that they would have to “kill” him in order to silence him in Barbados.

“Nobody from Sandy Lane or who born up in Sandy Lane could frighten anybody from Black Rock,” Sinckler warned Mottley during the Democratic Labour Party’s (DLP) meeting at Carlisle House car park, The City.

Responding to a pre-action protocol letter issued by Leslie Haynes, QC, on behalf of the African billionaire, who is threatening to sue Sinckler over charges he made on the political platform last week, the St Michael North West candidate also said:

“Let me tell Mr Peters and Mr Leslie Haynes that there is nobody from Nigeria that can silence Chris Sinckler in Barbados. Can’t happen! I born here. My navel string buried here and nobody gine come from Nigeria and try to bully me into silence in Barbados. They would have to kill me first! Can’t happen!” he said before tearing up a copy of the legal document sent to him by Peters’ attorney.

“Tell Mr Peters and them, this is Democratic Labour Party territory and we are not allowing them to silence us, because we have to know the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth,” he said to rousing applause from the large gathering of DLP supporters who had converged on the old stomping ground of the BLP.”

“Earlier in the night, Mottley’s record was also put under the microscope by Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler, who charged that it was brought to his attention that she had sought to secure over a million dollars in legal fees for herself to the detriment of investors and shareholders in the Four Seasons project.”

The ministers/politicians have destroyed the island, none of them can do anything other than snitch on each other before this election bout how much of the people’s money they stole and give away to the detriment of country and people…hundreds of millions, both political parties should be disbanded.

..it is a crying shame, that is why I dislike ALL politicians AND their yardfowls even more.
yYardfowls ran over to barbadostoday becaise the Peters letter is too hot for them to explain, apparently it is a bigger bombshell than what they had and what we already know both political parties did, steal from their own people.

  6. While noting that the Government not be allowed to “pick the duck back bare before elections” Mottley told those gathered that if called upon on Monday, to turn out in their thousands at Needham’s Point to ensure that the meeting did not take place.

  7. I glad the Nigerian sent him that letter. After all the grandstanding and theatrics, did he level similar charges at the man again? Kaymar Jordan should be next.🤣

  8. WHITE SHADOWS. BLACK SHADOWS……. SAME DIFFERENCE.

  9. ” In that letter, Haynes also said that Peters instructed him that he met with Miss Mottley while on family vacation in Barbados and they discussed social and global affairs and investment opportunities in Barbados and the wider Caribbean.”

WHITE INVESTOR. BLACK INVESTOR. SAME DIFFERENCE.

  10. Now that the documents have been laid last night (May 13th 2018? at the BLP meeting in Oistins, we see the attempt to divert attention of the bullet sale of the HILTON HOTEL by Monday 21 May 2018 (Whit Monday BANK HOLIDAY). with concerns relating to a meeting with a Nigerian businessman. The meeting according to the documents is being convene to close the deal. A date, 3 days before General Elections.

The allege deal reported to have questionable concerns of the valuation of the sale of the HILTON HOTEL.
A more realistic valuation figure of $200M+ USD in comparison to a reported closing value of less than $90M USD.

Also concerns were raised of an individual who holds responsibility allegedly of two business entities that supports and is RELATED the buyer. This person is also seeking an extension of service by the local body.

Other concerns relate to additional development of the plant/property, not inclusive of the current valuation of the hotel sale as well as the accommodation/allowances by law to facilitate compounded value inclusive of financial projections of earnings and employee net value considerations.

    An INJUNCTION IS BEING SOUGHT..

  11. When will the politicians now competing before election to see who could snitch the most about their thefts of the people’s money, come into the 21st century and focus on what is more important than their corruption and thefts..

  12. David

You have missed the mark, by a long way.

Surely, there are more dominant, though shifting forces within the body politic than at least two of those mentioned.

To our mind these are already baked into the political pie.

For us, the current state of play sees a resurgent DLP, intent on going down fighting, with a more finely focused decapitation strategy. Notwithstanding, their economic past hard to sell.

A BLP with a less viable plan, too grandiose, for the country but with a mismanagement argument to fall back on. It is becoming clear that their plans as seen in their mini-manifesto are unviable.

The DLP is betting on the leadership argument and has gone all in. And based on the letter above, they seem to be hitting home.

While the BLP appears to be slightly on the defensive because of their unconvincing arguments about their proposals. We doubt that they will be able to show a way to pay for them, absent some game changing intervention. And there is no immediate and provable possibility for this.

We judge that the DLP has made up some ground, during the last week, but they will have to have a phenomenal 10 days. ahead, in order to assail what we perceive to be an election which is the BLP’s to win.

About 5,000 Bajans will determine this election. It is still our determination that they will side overwhelmingly with the BLP, but this will be a real fight now.

Bajans appear to be so desperate that they seem prepared to disregard any arguments by the DLP, their instinctive inhibitions, and make a leap of ‘faith’ even if made to be unconvinced about the BLP and its leader.

  13. I cannot believe that at this stage of our decline into the pit of insignificance we are listening to the DLP talk about and debate things that allegedly took place in 1992. The gall of these people. After the literal destruction of Barbados, it’s people and our economy, why would anyone entertain anything the DLP has to say? They did not see it fit to discuss anything with us for ten long years, not even the sale of the Hilton but are now in a hurry to wrap up a deal with only ten day before an election? Why? Does someone want to avoide repaying a “commission” paid in advance of a fire sale?

I hope and pray that the incoming government has the courage and determination to investigate and where necessary prosecute all and sundry involved in any nefarious dealings that was to the detriment of the treasury and this nation. Immediately on assuming office and not ten years from now.

  14. David BU

I hope you don’t mind me asking……and I’m not suggesting how you should operate your blog…….

……….but, is there any particular reason why you ended comments to Jeff’s column?

  15. White investor black investor same difference true but what they are investing in is of more importance the island or the person

  16. I would like the DLP to bring the ideas to take this country forward. So far, they have only been focusing on leadership & what they did so far in the last ten years with limited funds. At least the BLP came out with some ideas, pie in the sky, but ideas nevertheless.

  17. Darcy Boyce said this morning on VOB that the DLP’s policy initiatives were highlighted in the Barbados Sustainable Recovery Plan (BSRP) 2018……….

………which, ironically, the unions, economists, private sector associations and the overall business community, also said were “pie in the sky” ideas as well.

According to Charles Herbert, for example, the plan is “a long list of unprioritised objectives that have to still be prioritised and implementation plans still have to be developed……..”

  18. There is already a bad history with white investors, who knows if black investors who are already billionaires, are established business people, are already on the world stage, don’t have any reason to steal from the taxpayers and pensioners who are mostly poor, might be just what the Caribbean needs.

Why keep making the same mistakes with the same gang of thieves and expect different results.

  19. DIGGING UP DIRT ?

“As the campaign for the May 24 general election heats up, Prime Minister Freundel Stuart last night called on Barbados Labour Party (BLP) leader Mia Mottley to give account of millions of dollars in tax waivers which reportedly occurred under the last BLP administration”

    https://barbadostoday.bb/2018/05/14/pm-wants-mia-to-account-for-major-tax-write-offs-including-one-to-her-dad/

  20. For 2 political parties who were hellbent on taking down the blogs, am amazed to see amounts of alledged kickbacks in dollar figures with names attached between the known minority crooks and former ministers…how many millions stolen and divvied up, itemized…on facebook no less…

I did not expect to see that one.

  21. CRITIQUE ON THE ELECTIONS #1
This election is getting dirtier by the day. We the electorate is being fed Christopher Columbus politics along with the grouping together by the incumbent party and the other fringe parties to gang bang the opposition leader. I was at the meeting in Carlisle Car Park and I couldn’t believe speaker after speaker going for the opposition leader jugular. Listening to the various statements I reach the conclusion that all the information had to come from a certain individual who is hell-bent to destroy the opposition leader, notwithstanding the opposition leader keep on the high road and even complement the former leader. That’s were politics and humanitarian behaviour differs. Now, I am now positive that the former leader of the opposition has the political fortitude to hold a press conference to decry the present leader. Why did he miss 23 press conferences after numerous downgrades to now find time 9 days before an election to now speak. Why are we not hearing the Hilton rush deal prior to the elections on May 24.
I was of the view that after a disastrous start to the election campaign at Waterford, that the ruling party would have realise that the constant bashing of an individual would have given them the opportunity to re-focus and feed the electorate with viable plans that will uplift our people, but not a word from the various speakers with certain exceptions to continue the decrying of this particular individual. Being a critic, I am of the opinion that the ruling party should have been the first to produce that critical document so that the electorate could make a decision on May 24. Giving the electorate just 7 days to peruse and debate your manifesto . This is unacceptable.

  22. Dont know if it will show up, but I believe the bribers are outing the bribers…lol

    @ Artaxerxes

De ole man went there last night to post a comment and revert to two or three remarks that The Luminary made and saw it closed

I think that the Rollerick thing caused that closure though

  24. Yep, somebody complained big time, too many names and the amounts in millions to show where taxpayer’s and pensioners money are sitting and it is not in the people’s pocket, many laundries were activated to clean that amount and many offshore accounts now exist…

If any incoming government does not activate investigations into that large a theft to find that money and return it to treasury and are only trying to be elected to tief more…they should suffer…it is a travesty.

Finally we know who did what and how much they are hiding.

  25. I managed to download the list, but I will not share it, this is one time a new government has a duty to do something about all those millions stolen, they will have the DPP, the Police and the Judiciary at their disposal, this is too repulsive for words.

  26. pieceuhderockyeahright

    Thanks.

  27. @Artax

The blog was being overrun with nusiance comments. Will reopen.

  28. @Kevin

Shouldn’t you be asking when the Rh the DLP plan to release its manifesto?

  29. clinton /lynch tarmac meeting just talked about family lol

  30. @Pacha

The purpose of this blog is to highlight the same old controversial issues that will stoke interest with 10 days to go. It was a sarcastic post.

    #rh

  31. @Pachamama @ 9.35am
Your analysis and the conclusion we have a real fight
However, I will say the deciding votes is 1,000 spread over six( 6)
    constituencies.
The bajan electorate don’t take leaps of faith
At this time MIA need to rethink her strategy and focus on the marginal
    seats

  32. MIA took on Barbados Today and won her suit and I expect this Nigerian to take on CHRIS and win. How come the HARD ROCK man cannot sue the MIA and win? is it that what she is saying is true?

  33. Who funding the DEMS campaign? Did they start late waiting on funds because they had not as yet delivered as promised?

  34. A solid observation.

  35. If an investor with some integrity believes that government is corrupt and looking for something for business to get done, that investor may look to an opposition party that has integrity to discuss why he/she has not as yet invested and what integrity requirements are needed for that investor and others like him to invest. an investor especially looking at a country that has reach JUNK status under a particular party may think them incompetent and not worth dealing with not even talking to.

  36. Why did a Nigerian billionaire have investment discussions with the

LEADER OF THE OPPOSITION instead of the current MINISTER OF INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS ?

Note that the meeting is reported to have taken place in SEPTEMBER 2016. That is 1 year and 8 months ago.

  37. Yes David, I think the DLP manifesto getting released this week. When is the BLP releasing there full one?

Mr Blogmaster, what exactly is the ‘solid comment! Your blog has been replete…repeat… it had a bariffle of reports over these many years of the millions…in fact rather billions of $$ paid to select businessmen, Cave attorneys, special transportation related contractors and the like which generated hugely inflated profits and ANYONE has the temerity to ask when the DLP started “funding” their campaign….fah real! 🤣🤣

@Lawson, we can speculate about that tarmac meeting till Hillary becomes President or Donald is interdicted… whichever comes first 😐… but one thing we dont need to speculate about is this predident’s intention.

He has bluntly said it’s HIS justice dept and said that he would never has selected HIS AG for the job if he knew said AG was going to be a wusp and not control all and any witch hunt stupid investigations about the Trump campaign…..

So we KNOW what shennanigans are discussed (or false PR created) when this president is on the tarmac in a plane…don’t we!

And oh Mr Blogmaster, perhaps I posted one of those nuisances comments that caused your termination… for that I will be eternally distressed….(well not really)…but seriously, HOW can any blogger post such absolutely FALSE and inane remarks without sanction by other bloggers!

For a while there it appeared as if we were in an absolute alternative universe with the crazy falsehoods and schizophrenic like contradictions. She even challenged a law professor on tenets of legal guidance.😲

Ah well…we see it daily from Bay Street and 1600 Penn Ave so what’s a little mental dysfunction or nuisance comments on BU afterall.

  39. Whether Henderson Williams win or lose, he has a new five year contract.

How could he be the Corporate Secretary and Chairman of the Needhams Point Company?

    Isn’t this unlawful?

  40. I see that more top Police appointments are coming.

Margaret Stevens was just appointed as an Inspector……….why is she being promoted again?

  41. HANTS why do we not as yet have Sugar Point Cruise Terminal? Did some one want a % to approve it? How come the same company building terminals all through the Caribbean and not here? Is it that they believe our officials are corrupt and like bribes?

  42. It’s not illegal, some companies have chairmans, directors, etc who also do stuff as corporate secretary or hr stuff etc. Its not good for separation of duties and stuff like that, but it does occur quite a bit.

  43. Who funding the DEMS campaign? Did they start late waiting on funds because they had not as yet delivered as promised? Were the sales of assets part of the promises to the backers to get the funding needed? Is this why you went pass the the five years to do things without parliament meeting?

  44. By the way the DEMS say their manifesto is not a contract nor a promise. So i believe that their manifesto must then be propaganda!

  45. @ Dribbler, the blogmaster loves to pick and chose. He posted couple years back that he will delete comments posted under articles that is not related to the article, that went on the wayside. Then he told me that this blog is not up there with the reputable news outlets so he aint got no problem with some comments people posts (all depends on who they cursing or insulting).

  46. High Court declares Aiteo’s Benedict Peters earnings legitimate ON DECEMBER 19, 20179:27 AMIN NEWS0 COMMENTS The High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory, Nigeria has declared that earnings and assets accruing to Oil magnate and Aiteo Energy boss, Benedict Peters were acquired legally through legitimate sources. This follows a similar ruling squashing multiple money laundering charges and bribery of election officials indictment against Mr. Peters. Benedict Peters Justice Valentine Ashi made the findings on Thursday, 7th of December, 2017 whilst pronouncing judgment in proceedings tried before him challenging the provenance and legality of the ownership of assets and properties belonging to the Aiteo boss. There was no evidence to support the suggestion that any aspect of his business showed any criminal conduct and as such, the allegations were baseless.

  47. In dismissing the case, Justice Ashi ruled that the “said assets and properties and assets having been legitimately acquired by the defendant cannot be forfeited to the Government under any circumstances.” The judge further ruled “restraining any person, security agency or authority from disturbing the defendant’s quiet enjoyment of his assets and properties having been found to be legitimately acquired.” In upholding Peters evidence and contention, the learned judge found that there was no merit in the allegations of criminal conduct relied upon by Uyah and the case as a whole. In doing so, the judge observed “…that in the absence of any specific offence and proof of commission of crime, the defendant legitimately and lawfully acquired the assets and properties, the subject matter of this suit…”

  49. A High Court sitting in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, Nigeria, has quashed the declaration of Executive Vice Chairman of Aiteo, Benedict Peters, as ‘wanted’ by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC). In a judgement given on March 22, 2018, the court stated that the anti-graft agency has no power to declare Peters or anyone ‘wanted’ without a court order.

This was in response to a suit FCT/HC/CV/23/2017 filed by Benedict Peters, accusing the EFCC of declaring him wanted on its website without following due process. As affirmed by the court, “Peters has never been charged with, nor tried for any criminal offence in any Court of law, nor has he ever jumped bail for any offence howsoever in Nigeria and cannot be declared wanted by administrative fiat, without any prior order or leave of Court.”

The judgement delivered by Justice Othman Musa further reads: “The very act of declaring the Applicant (Benedict Peters) a WANTED PERSON on the official website of the 1st Respondent (EFCC) without any prior order or leave of a Court of competent jurisdiction to that effect is unlawful, illegal, wrongful, ultra vires, unconstitutional and constitutes a flagrant violation of the Fundamental rights of the Applicant to personal liberty, private and family life, freedom of movement and Right to not to be subjected to inhuman treatment and degrading treatment as guaranteed under Section 34, 37, 41 and 46 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 (As amended) and Articles 2, 3(1) & (2), 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12(1) of the African Charter on Human and Peoples’ Rights (Ratification and Enforcement) Act 2004.” http://www.businessdayonline.com/abuja-high-court-quashes-efccs-declaration-benedict-peters-wanted/
