Slavery is a condition of humanity that results from the basic needs of life having to be filled; the inequalities of the human condition; and the vagaries of history.
It need not be ‘evil’ at all.

Compare the economy of North America that received very few slaves with those of South America and the Caribbean that received perhaps 10 times more.

Look at the countries where African slaves went and you will realise that slavery does not build an economy that can adapt to the changes over time.
