The lack of transparency by the government continues to be a high agenda item for Barbadians concerned with holding public officials, especially politicians; accountable. Last week on a talk show former member of parliament Mark Williams attempted to question Barbados leading journalist David Ellis about the Adopt-a-Kilometre project, the attempt was trivialized.
BU suspects Mark Williams attempt to probe the Adopt-a-Kilometre project is valid but because of the institutionalized lack of transparency, the unwillingness to hold persons in public office accountable and a supine media it was destine to yield no result. The lack of transparency by the government has become a source of annoyance, distress and anxiety to Barbados Underground.
