One thing the late Prime Minister David Thompson will be remembered for is his love of social media and the opportunity it gave ordinary people to participate in our democracy. Of course some will abuse the privilege but the majority for the most part use social media platforms to discuss issues and exchange information which the traditional media is constrained to leave on the editorial floor. BU can only speculate if we were to have a conversation with the late David Thompson resting comfortably in the great beyond, what his view of the charge brought against Omar Watson and instigated by the Hon. Michael Lashley would be. What if private citizens were able to bring charges against members of parliament who hide behind the protection of parliamentary privilege?

BU remains hopeful that this matter will be sandwiched in the bureaucracy of court files like all the other high profile cases. Even if Omar Watson committed an error in judgement there is scope for amends without Mr. Watson having to be incarcerated. BU understands Douglas Trotman has offered his services at no cost to Mr. Watson.

    Why don’t you read with understanding? The reason the Barbados Today story is being highlighted is because it is erroneous.

    David understand no matter what ever the charge for whatever the reason , it will be never as bad as what this same Minister did to All Bajans , He is one one with hurt feelings,
    This Minister is guilty of mush more than any one mans words to him or about him , He has stolen many things from Violet Beckles and think for he in office hes will never see justice?
    He is a crook , for he knew better and went with the dark side to b e a crook , He did such a find job that they removed him?

    We wait for the next elections to remove these scumbags , crooks and liars form the government ,

    The lady Justice is alwaya depicted as being blindfolded and with scales in her hand because she is supposed to be impartial, she cannot see who stands before her, and the she should be fair and evenhanded.

    So the police and the judicial system must not stand on anybody’s side. They should stand only on the side of Justice and Fairness.

    Mr. Omar Shawn Watson has pleaded guilty because he obviously felt that he has done something wrong. Now the results of this case ought to teach Mr. Watson or anyone who wishes engage in such conduct that the Freedom of Expression has its responsibilities and that speech which falls outside the frontier of constitutional protection is deemed unconstitutional. Listen! I do not know who give some people the twisted idea that they can defame others because their do not necessarily agree with their political worldview?

    Neatly framed to give the impression that you are against what the police alleges Mr Watson has done (I don’t know that he has plead guilty) when in fact he has done no worst than what any number of the so called honorable members of the so called “poor rackey” parliament of Barbados done; that any number of it members have openly abuse parliamentary privilege to cuss each other in the worst way and to publicly abuse select citizens of Barbados. You ought to be shame but I wouldn’t expect you to be. The Joker who is claiming relief from the courts is a leading clown in that pantomimic contrivance called the parliament of Barbados, he speaks like a 12 year old and displays that attitude and aptitude of a thug.

My maternal grandmother lived in America for donkey years, as well as loads of aunts, uncles and first generation of cousins stupid. I visited America in 1974 when I was youngster attended St. Leonard’s Boys Secondary and hated every bet of it with a passion. But in the early 80s my father finally convinced me and my many siblings to come here permanently. And I still miss my friends there in Barbados stupid.

    The blogmaster’s critique was mild compared to the vitriol thrown in posts by you or whomever writes under the ‘ac’ handle.

    Mr. Dompey is also extremely caustic and often so absurdly complex and didactic with his posts that they say very little and display a clear sense of lack of basic reasoning.

    We all write here for various reasons and surely some do so just to pompasette. Unfortunately, the Domps man comes over that way.

    So AC I can agree with you that everybody here on BU has the right to make a fool themselves -as I have as well- but others also have the right to call out people who speak simply because the Lord has blessed them with a mouth (fingers) but often have nothing meaningful to say.

    In the Saturday Sunday of November 29, page 6 bottom left former Attorney General Dale Marshall is quoted as saying during yesterday’s meeting of Parliament:

    “But I wish the Attorney General and members of his Cabinet and his political party wold get up out of these chairs and go outside because one of their Ministers knows full well that there are certain places in Barbados that he now dare not go…Barbadians feel that they could walk peaceably to and fro in this country. Tell that to the Minister responsible for Public Works who dare not how his face in districts in his constituency now”

    Does this mean that Minister Lashes can’t show his face in certain places in his constituency because his face is not better looking than Mugabe’s or is it for some other reason?

    Can anybody give a real Simple explanation?

    Unlike what has been going on for weeks with the ongoing attacks Dompey. ac has (yes) been forced to enter the theatre of absurdity only when unwarranted attacks are level because of a difference of opinion. However ac does not use the bullying tactics and with good reasons exit even when the attacks continue.

    First up, of course I read the Nation & others also. I am one of these info junkies. I will read left-wing stuff and right-wing stuff and what’s in between as well.

    Your forum is obviously very leading edge on behind-the-news details and that alone brings one back seeking more.

    I also appreciate the ‘cadence’ of the site, i.e. the general tempo and tone of the folks who give opinions. All very bajanesque and cool.

    I really don’t focus on the outliers who have a particular bias or pompasette, because there is always some meat of real solid info that certainly advances my awareness and knowledge.

    So in sum, Mr. Blogmaster good stuff.

    I’m sure you have plans to grow and expand so in the immortal words of Jean Luc Picard: Make it so!

    The right to delete might be necessary and appropriate but only when applied without bias and prejudice.noting that the principle of fairness and equality should be goal kon aims towards and kept in mind before the deletion process begins
