David wrote “tax allowances are given for a reason,
Tell that to the IMF. They are the ones directing the government to eliminate allowances.”

I trust David BU is not too taken aback by this turn of events.
He was told weeks ago about these demands the IMF will soon be imposing.
With a contracting economy whose tax revenue base is primarily transactional what else can the government turn to other than the imposition of additional direct taxation measures either by way of removal of existing concessions or by direct imposition like the municipal waste tax. Don’t be surprised if an increase in land taxes is not in the offing.

How else can government service its ever increasing debt burden other than impose more taxes in a fast contracting economy?

BTW, Hants do you agree with the recommendation that this DLP administration should bite its bullet of pride and arrogance and go to the IMF early rather than later?

  3. Strange choice of Layne. Stinkliar is so incompetent and so over his head that he has to outsource every thing ….as a matter of fact, every thing is above his pay grade. When all is said and done, Stinkliar will blame Layne and say………what the BLP has done to poor people? Mark my words!

  4. Well I hope that Bobby Clarke and David Cow – dung have now learnt their lesson well!

That rational thinking Barbadians have no time for their jackass behaviour.
