Re: Request for permission to march from Independence Square to
Government Headquarters, Bay Street, Bridgetown on Friday, June 20, 2014

I hereby request permission to march from Independence Square to Government Headquarters, Bay Street, Bridgetown on Friday, June 20, 2014 from 10 am to 1 pm.
a) Organised by: Robert L.M. ‘Bobby’ Clarke

b) Purpose of march: To demonstrate the people’s concern in relation to the hardships they are experiencing
Lack of information on the hardships that people are going through and the apparent non-concern as shown by the Democratic Labour Party Government and the BLP Opposition
Solutions to those hardships

c) Route – Departure: Independence Square – onto Probyn Street – onto Bay Street and returning to Independence Square via that same route

d) Hours: 10:00 am and 1:00 pm

e) estimate of number of persons
to take part in march Approximately 100

    Prodigal Son. Is it true that 2 truck and 1 jeep filled with men in green and armed to the teeth was on the route with the marchers. Notwithstanding task force, special forces and patrol vehicles kept an eye on the marchers.. Now tell me why such unnecessary show of force with under 100 marchers. Is this the reason why containers of combative items came into the island recently? Is Freedom of Expression under attack.

    I was also going to ask you the same question that “Tell me why” posed. Is it true that the marchers were accompanied by the armed forces he describes above?

    Barbados Special Forces Unit is probably there to guard the Bush in the country?

    What wrong with an armed force keeping an eye on the marchers? It happens more than often in the developed world, so don’t make a big deal out of it.

    Was it a coincidence that three vehicles from the Defence Force passed the same area during the march? Who wear blue denim with the word POLICE in the back. Were those people a part of Clarke marchers? Was police vehicles with occupants showing solidarity with the marchers? Come on David, where you there during the entire march? Everybody seems to be afraid to stand up for justice. The Unions afraid, businesses afraid, workers afraid, the press afraid, even the 3000 workers who were sent home with the exception of one ex-worker afraid. Now we are seeing both blog masters afraid to confront the imposition of this stupid municipal tax that will lower the middle class to the poor class and the poor class to beggars. What are we doing……the BLP fighting with leadership issues, The ruling party allowing its leader to broadcast to the nation that this government is/will be the best government of Barbados. All along bloggers keep crying down the FOURTH ESTATE about dissemination of news and now everybody including David gone quiet and afraid to speak out. We are now the biggest cowards in the Caribbean constantly raped by obese politician with a penchant for money, fame and a mike to fool the public with promises and impossible hopes. If we can’t get short term promises fulfilled how on earth can we get long term goals fulfilled. All the economic reviews were for 2013. I wonder what 2014 will bring on this tired nation.

    BT…lol…the great fudger…Answer – because I can read. Mind – I suppose you might have been the distinguished little fella I thought might be Pieceuh. But no…the little fella looked like Zola and I can’t see you accusing anyone other than from the safety of a hammock in your back garden. The fabled whacker is of course an imaginary feel-good figment. But, at the end of it, if you were there good-on-ya.

    I have to say that I wasn’t aware that marchers were being escorted by other than ordinary on-the-beat boys in blue. Before the march started my abiding impression was that there were more police hanging around in a bunch than marchers – and, indeed, I said so chattily to the bunch with no response other than utterly menacing indifference.

    The whole point of the Eva Braun remark was to suggest that things are never as they seem. Thus: Bush Tea is not Zola and wouldn’t be seen dead with a brass bowl – and yet he suggests he was there wearing one – you see, a real life hero after all.

    With further thought and with the reported remarks of Commissiong from Saturday evening in today’s Nation in mind, I feel I want to say to Bobby that I hope any future march will distance itself from any talk of Westmonster (sic) models, colonialism and, indeed, all Clement Payne-speak. I can’t imagine that any of that touches the empty pockets of the unemployed and underprivileged whose condition NOW is surely what the appeal to government is about. Moreover, I hope he will take on board all the positive suggestions which have been made here and knowing, as he should, that Robert Ross respects him enormously and regards him as a friend who took on the mantle of Gandhi in marching at the head of the column with only a walking stick to point the way.

    as if friday free fall was not enough an embarrassment for the messengers of DOOM AND GLOOM within the bLP ,here comes another maverick one Tennyson Joseph (suggesting).( .if one should so take him serious enough) that the now leader of the BLP should resign……stepping right on the toes of Arthur who proudly announced a day before that what others think they see ,,they have not seen……or something crazy like that,,, maybe just a trial ballon tennyson is flying… stay tuned,,,,,,for the nation version……..
