Having occasionally submitted letters to the editor, I can attest to the fact that the Nation’s editors are in no way shy when it comes to wielding their blue pencils. Knowing this, I found myself in utter disbelief upon reading the summary of the court case under the March 6 heading “Man to pay for criminal damage“.

Redolent in the Schadenfreude which seemingly permeates this island’s populace, we are reminded on three occasions that the complainant, whose full name is provided, had her dildo destroyed. We also learn the complainant was slapped in the face and that varnish had been thrown on her clothes and those of her children.

So what we have is a mother who, unlike many others, had the courage to report said transgressions to her property and on her person to the proper authorities, leading to a conviction of the perpetrator.

Her reward? A frontal assault on the dignity and the privacy of both mother and children, who can now expect a merciless teasing, if not outright bullying, from their peers. After years of unstinting effort on the behalf of battered women, Ms. Daisley should be incensed by such “journalism”. Simply put, the Nation should be ashamed.

Why was her contract not renewed? Is it because she and the Chairwoman could not see eye to eye? Nothing wrong with not renewing contracts but the reason should be forthcoming. Same with Tony Marshall.

When people lose track of themselves…….” uneven dogs bite they own tails” such confusion is an often too subtle sign of paranoia.
Well all this shall soon play out..there is definitely dissension within and without

  3. David,

I do not know but I had heard last year since before Crop Over that her days were numbered. Remember they brought in Alison Sealy Smith but I do not know if she is still there.

But how could Mrs Hunte Cox operate as CEO when she was not allowed to speak on the NCF’s behalf, only the minister or the chairman. This is despicable! Were they in NCF’s offices everday? What would happen if both the Minister and the Chairman were travelling?

Can you imagine what the Dems would say if a BLP Culture minister had told a CEO of the NCF that she could not speak on its behalf? People like the “Nation Critic, ac and !” would have this blog light up with cries of dictatorship!

I have nothing personal against Sanka Price but he is not willing to admit that he is a partisan like Mascoll, Brandford, Ezra Alleyne and Peter Simmons. Even Pat Hoyos ,while he does not admit openly, his ties to the BLP (family included) are clear.
However, Mr. Price is an editor who should attempt to be more balanced. Instead he is a journalistic trojan horse , openly stating that “he is not a party operative” but his weekly column seems to be the Wednesday twin brother of Beresford Leon Padmore.

It is interesting that the most partisan BLP supporters on this blog are now singing Sanka Price’s praises. He should check his mirror image as a journalist. If his articles are supposed to be political propaganda, then that is fine but if he is supposed to be offering balanced and insightful commentary, he is clearly doing a very poor job!
