A recent study out of the United kingdom concludes ‘Alcohol is more dangerous than illegal drugs like heroin, ecstasy and crack cocaine, according to a new study.’ From limited reports the study rated alcohol the most dangerous substance ‘based on the overall dangers to the individual and society as a whole’.  The study was led by Professor David Nutt, the former government drugs adviser who was sacked for criticising the then Labour government’s decision to upgrade cannabis from class C to class B.

What is evident to BU, the matter of how drugs are classified and managed is based on economic structures embedded  in so-called developed societies. Those who would dare to buck the system will have to negotiate the weight of the establishment.

What else can I say but. . . . . . . Well done and presented as usual! I am only just catching up with all that I missed while I was offline for some time due to the ravages of one “Tomas”.

It seems that you are once again fighting a one-man battle against ignorance. However, as usual, I am well aware that you are more than capable to “take the enemy out” and do so very effectively. According to Hants “when de ignoramuses don’t know de louder dem is have to shout and try to tear down”. We who want to learn are quietly here on the sidelines.

One query…………..you mentioned that quote . . . “paracetamol is a very dangerous drug”. End quote. Why is this? I ask because of reasons, you may remember, I have related to you previously.
    Keep on Medicating. :-

  2. Paracetamol is potentially a very dangerous drug because it has a relatively low therapeutic index; i.e the therapeutic dose is relatively close to the toxic dose. You can overdose with about 12 tablets daily. If you take 12 aspirins you might get gastro intestinal problems and some other problems that doctors can treat relatively easy.

If you do the same with paracetamol you will get a serious hepatitis from which you might not recover. This will require that you be PLANTED!

I have read and heard some terrible stories about this. Fortunately I never saw a case at home, but it is common cause of death in children in some developed countries
cHILDREN ARE MOST SUSCEPTIBLE BECAUSE THE SYRUPS AVAILABLE TO THEM MIGHT EASILY LURE THEM INTO TAKING AN OVERDOSE.

ALTHOUGH A VERY USEFUL PREPARATION YOU MUST OBVIOUSLY KEEP IT OUT OF THE REACH OF YOUR GRAND CHILDREN

Many thanks for your speedy response, Doc. I must say it makes sense to keep ALL medication out of reach of children (&/or fools).
