President of Guyana Irfan Ali did an interview recently with Stephen John Sackur host of the BBC TV show HARDtalk. Pundits agree it was a commendable performance the manner in which he represented. His communications team did a good preparing him with talking points. Is this a good argument for Barbados beefing up its Communications and Public Affairs Units?

A casual observation suggests President Ali and Prime Minister Mia Mottley are the two leaders in the small Caribbean space with growing international brands. We look forward to Ali and Mottley continuing to convert the international recognition being received to local and regional benefit. Mottley has already pointed to over 100 million dollars in grant funding received by Barbados to support maritime ecosystems and from the Green Climate Fund for the Barbados Water Authority.

    What we need to see more is a concerted effort for Ali, Mottley to realize greater tangible benefits for the region on all fronts. However the challenge will be to align local expectations and demands on the other side of the political spectrum.

    If the oil bonanza in Guyana is seen as the Messiah for the salvation of that country’s economy and balm for its social/racial tensions why is the PM of Barbados not following suit in exploiting the ‘alleged’ vast gas and oil reserves off Barbados as promised for the last 2 decades?

    Instead of begging for financial bailouts during those globetrotting jaunts why not undertake the promised explorations off Barbados?

    Or is this promised Oil & Gas manna from the sea just another pie-in-the-sky gimmick?

    How is Barbados going to pay back those massive foreign loans to underwrite conspicuous consumption especially those taken from the IMF loan shark-aka banker of last resort for financially broke countries like Barbados?

    Oil &Gas exploration off Barbados has been always a political gimmick going back to the Tom Adams administration.

    It has served merely as a tax write-off for those oil exploration companies pretending to be interested in doing business in Barbados in a mature industry whose halcyon days are long gone in a world awash with oil.

    Which investment banker would want to sink its money in a ‘virgin’ very high risk deepwater oil venture off a tourism-based small island with a severely vulnerable eco-system?

    Aren’t the reserves in Venezuela and Guyana enough to meet the demands of a decreasing oil market with 2050 around the corner?

    How can MAM square her international pro-environment credentials of a 2030 carbon-neutral goal with offshore oil exploration only to put at serious risk the country’s already established forex earning bread-and-butter basket?

    Wouldn’t such a move be likened to the Aesop’s fable of the dog and its shadow?

    Another consequence of the anti-CO2 hysteria – it leads well meaning consumers to believe they must switch to more expensive EV cars for personal transportation in order to save the planet, not to mention also propels the Biden administration into ordering car makers to cut down production of traditional ICE cars and produce more and more EVs. What could possibly go wrong? Well, check out the advisory to British tow truck operators as to the correct procedures to safely tow and store accident damaged EVs according to the UK’s Dept for Transport’s document: “Recovery Operators: Working with Electric Vehicles”.

    Listen as a YouTuber describes all the intricacies that this document recomends be observed when attempting to remove an accident damaged EV from the roadway. This is to avoid the chances of the operator receiving a severe electric shock while he must always keep in mind that at any time there is a chance the EV’s battery without notice could suddenly burst into a severe, difficult to control and contain fire which even a full sized, regular fire tender could likely not control or put out on its own. Bajan tow truck drivers and garages servicing EVs take note. It might be advisable for tow truck operators to carry with then a pair of high voltage, protective gloves (like what the BL&P linesmen use) if called to the scene of an EV accident..

    The sheer INSANITY of ELECTRIC TRUCKS

    The USA’s Enviromental Protection Agency (EPA) over the next few years plans to phase in stricter (and increasingly unrealistic) emissions standards for heavy, diesel powerd trucks. This is a not-so-subtle means of arm twisting heavy truck operators and truck manufacturers into switching from operating/manufacturing diesel powered trucks to the much more expensive, and less efficient battery powered, EV trucks.

    Hyundai Kona goes in for software upgrade – Resets to 1984 – This is SHOCKING

    A UK Hyundai EV owner claims his Hundai EV went in for a regular service during which the dealer also installed a software update. When the owner got in his car to go home, he noticed that two new feaures had been installed with no opt-out option – a “Geo-Fencing” feature which would restrict the areas in which the car could operate and a “Geo-Timing” feature which would restrict the hours in which the vehicle could opeate. The software licensing agreement said the new features were for “voluntary use” unless required by law.

    In the UK, Europe and the US it appears car dealers are trying their best to get customers into EVs rather than gas or diesel engined cars. Part of the pressure comes from governments trying to have their country meet unrealistic deadlines for cutting fossil fuel use.

    It looks like another reason they are so frantic to get drivers into EVs is probably to make it easier to use the software to control the movements of car owners, so when the WEF mandated 15minute cities come into full effect city dwellers will be more easily restricted to an area within roughly 15min of their home. There will be limited travel allowed outside your 15 min home area but you will have to seek special permission to travel outside your restricted area and likely pay a fee for the privilege as well.

    Climate alarmists are freaking out now that genuine, credentialed, experienced scitentists have been given a voice in a recently released video documentary to criticize the theory that human caused CO2 emissions will lead to runaway increases in earth temperatures unless they are rigorously brought under control.

    I hope the residents will receive long term health screening. The gases are not only dangerous if breathed in but highly toxic if skin contact occurs. In other words, nobody should be anywhere near fire without PPE. That includes Police who are seen wandering around without any protection in a longer video.     Sweeping across the shores of Latin America comes a scheme from some of the most predatory figures in the venture capital ecosystem of the United States. It is a brazen attempt to assert foreign influence across Latin America and threatens to reshape the very fabric of the region and the day to day lives of its people. What seems like a technological marvel aimed at progress and connectivity harbors a darker agenda — one that intertwines planetary surveillance, financial predation, geopolitical maneuvering, and the domination of a resource-rich continent buried in debt.

    This grand design, known by the acronym GREEN+ and conceived by stalwarts of the digital dollar and debt schemes of the private sector, has quietly taken root through a web of political entanglements at the local level. Even a key figure in the Drexel Burnham Lambert junk bond scandal plays a role. Astonishingly, every capital city of Latin America has eagerly signed on, apparently unaware of the strings attached to these seemingly benign partnerships, while a majority of municipalities in the region have also made commitments with these same groups that will push them to join GREEN+, potentially in a matter of weeks. The (hopefully) well-meaning regional governments have unwittingly paved the way for a sweeping surveillance apparatus tied to American intelligence that threatens to erode privacy and civil liberties under the guise of progress and combating the climate crisis.

    Upon further observation, GREEN+’s connections reveal a disturbing narrative of financial interests melding with geopolitical ambitions. The backers of the satellite company share ties with former members of the highest offices of US financial policy and regulation alongside the key architects and profiteers of private capital creation, aiming to consolidate control over monetary flows in Latin America within the redistribution of distressed government debt from the public to the private sector. As this two-part series will show, this concerted effort is not merely about surveillance – it’s a calculated move towards further dollarization, tightening the grip of corporate and technological monopolies over the economic landscape of the Americas.
