Who Is Khaleel Kothdiwala?

Submitted by Douglas Smith

FROM: Concerned Citizens

TO: The People of Barbados

We have contemplated this letter for some time but have restrained ourselves, believing that the behaviour would cease. However, we were listening to the Down to BrassTacks call-in show on Monday and we were once again assaulted by a contribution of the country’s most popular teenager, one Khaleel Kothdiwala. We recognized that this intervention is essential.

We hear many individuals in this country boldly proclaiming that Kothdiwala is headed to political office at the highest levels, most believing with certainty that he shall ascend to the office of Prime Minister. If this is the case, and he is to lead this country, we feel entitled to some answers to some vital questions.

We well remember his first public speech at the Lower Green some years ago, and the presence of two adults behind him on the stage, who we presume to have been his parents. At a cursory glance, one appears of African descent, and the other Indian. Does this ‘future leader’ of a nation of Blacks identify more as black or Indian? How do this self-identification affect his ability to lead?

Observing that he is partly-Indian, does he accept that many of his people have engaged in rank economic exploitation of black people by buying items and reselling to poor people at exorbitant mark-up? Is he ‘contrite’, as he likes to say, for this occurrence?

Is it true that young gentlemen attended an elite private school at the primary level, where most students are of wealthy, Caucasian extraction, meaning that he would have spent many of his formative years surrounded by rich whites? The entire country is aware that he now attends Queen’s College, considered to be an ‘intellectually elite’ grammar school. Does his and his parents’ choice of schooling show an implicit bias and elitism? Is he the best voice of the black working class?

We are reliably informed by several students at Queen’s College that he is universally-loved there and is in fact their Head Boy. We also know that he has many ‘fans’ in the wider Barbados, who adore his appearance on a CBC youth show and fawn over his various mouthings and writings. Does he recognise that having so many black people almost hero-worshipping someone who looks like him is problematic and unhealthy for the black psyche?

Kothdiwala is well-known for his rabid attacks on a black-led political party as well as notable, successful black people, such as Senator Caswell Franklyn, our hero of democracy. He is perhaps best known for his campaign against the CXC, a black-conceived and black-led regional institution. Does he believe it is healthy that almost his entire fame and popularity is based upon his attacks on black personalities and institutions?

This is not intended as an attack on the young boy. We will leave attacks to him. We merely would like the answers to some key questions that will allow us to determine if he is an acceptable candidate to lead Barbados. We await his response.

  1. Whoever plays the race card like the author, an obvious follower of the diabolical Burnham cult, is a high traitor. The Indians have given us 100,000 vaccine doses. Many more will come from there and save us. Guyana is ruled by an Indian-African government with the best relations with Barbados.

In Barbados it is unfortunate the case that some constantly whine about alleged or actual racial slurs from the minorities, but they themselves think in a manner that would do Cecil Rhodes, Idi Amin and Heinrich Himmler all honour.

The author is obviously a pathological racist and deserves to be tried in criminal court!

Fortunately, we have responsible politicians like our Most Honourable Prime Minister, Lord Marshal Dale and General Bosstic, who think sensibly and get us the vaccine from India.

  2. It would not have gone unnoticed since our independence that those who have governed us have gone out of their way to undermine the development of their majority black population.

Errol Barrow, who was an elitist, stated that the black conscious movement was not to be imported into the country.

The phrase too black, too strong, comes to mind. A mixed race person will always have more opportunities and a greater platform in Barbados.

I have no interest in discussing this side show. We need to focus on developing a nation that focuses and strengthens its black majority population.

  3. There are many Black racists who hate Indians and no are better than white racists and their racial psyops

David needs to raise Quality Control standards on BU to stop ignorance of mob rule via the net

    • @Kiki

The position of BU from inception has been to discuss uncomfortable subject matter. Use this type of discussion about race to attempt to address underlying issues. Hiding from it is to avoid it which gets us nowhere.

  4. Politics is a nasty business. It does not matter Khaleel is a young man always respectful in his public interactions. He will be attacked because of his decision to become involved in politics. The fact he is mixed race creates an opportunity for some to exploit. If the blogmaster walked in his shoes the thing to do would be to ignore.

    • A topic highlighting race matters is way above how individual commenters operate. This is the mistake you and others make. All agree we have an issue of race in Barbados whether it is crypto, covert or otherwise described. It exist and the only way to wrestle with it successfully is to openly discuss it.

Follow RT on Anti-Asian sentiment is on the rise in the US, fanned by constant criticism of China over Covid-19 and its increasing global influence. Politicians must realise that legitimising hostility encourages racism.

America woke up today to the appalling news of shootings at massage parlors in Georgia that claimed the lives of eight people, including at least six female victims of Asian origin, four of whom were Korean Americans.

A suspect has since been arrested. The specifics behind the killings are still under investigation, although it is being claimed ‘sex addiction’ may be to blame. Early speculation, though, had suggested that anti-Asian racism may have been behind the slaughter, and even if that proves not to be the case, the very idea that it was being considered as a potential motive is alarming, but perhaps not surprising.

And we had the sheriff come to the mic and say quite casually by way of explanation that the killer was having a bad day and saw the elimination of these parlour workers as a way to fight his sex addiction. This, of course, shifts responsibility to the presumed Asian female sex worker who traditionally has had three strikes against them, being non-white, female and of “loose morals” . It had the effect of devaluing the lives of these victim by shifting at least some of the blame for their deaths to them.

I knew simply by hearing his words and observing his casual attitude that he is a bigot most vile. And just hours later a social media post was discovered in which he proudly hailed his new purchase – a tee-shirt bearing the slogan “COVID – imported from China”.

Though we all know that the statement is true, very few of us would see the need to wear it on a tee-shirt!

The young man Khaleel is strong enough to bear any attacks. However, I will not be one of the attackers on the basis of his mixed race or the schools his parents chose for him.

I will judge him instead by his words and actions.

If I have any suspicions of his allegiance based on his heritage, race or class that may or may not be legitimate, I will have the good sense to keep those biases to myself.

All will be revealed in good time to those who are discerning.

    • @Donna

Agree with you wholeheartedly. Some on BU love to blow the dog whistle and believe in their simplistic way of thinking there will be no consequences. The boy was born in Barbados, went to school in Barbados and by extension enculturated in Barbados.

    • The update to the previous comment is that Khaleel at his tender age has grown a political brand that outshines many others on both sides. He will have to get use to these kinds of attacks. The blogmaster is relatively comment sensible BU family members will offer constructive critique. Then there are the others.

    Transport shift
PRIVATE OPERATORS TO DRIVE TRANSIT SYSTEM – MINISTER
    by Randy Bennett
The days of Government continuing to heavily subsidize public transportation in Barbados are coming to an end.
That is according to Minister of Transport, Works and Water Resources, Ian Gooding- Edghill, who today admitted Government could no longer carry that burden and would look to private operators to be largely responsible for transporting commuters across the island.
However, the minister gave the assurance it would not result in job losses for persons working at the Transport Board.
His comments came following a suggestion by Opposition Leader, Reverend Joseph Atherley that the time had come for the State to move out of providing commercial public transport and to become a regulator and facilitator of capital.
“We need to move away from the old model or the existing model of providing public transport services for the public of Barbados. We have a model in which the State subsidizes the operation of public transport vehicles to move the commuting public from point A to point B every day for several hours every day with some input from private operators.
“Dissuade me from the view that we need to see the State remove itself from providing public transport on a commercial basis, leaving that to private operators with the State providing a serious and significant regulatory function, in addition to the provision of the social service element of public transport,” Atherley suggested.
In his response during the 2021/2022 Estimates debate this afternoon where it was revealed his ministry would be allotted $110,164, 376 for the financial year starting April 1, Gooding-Edghill agreed that such a transition was required.
“The Government of Barbados continues to carry a substantial investment in public transport; the investment in electric vehicles plus the ongoing annual subsidy. Now the Government cannot continue to carry such a load and this is not a plan that will see persons being dislodged or being placed in a position of unemployment, that’s certainly not the plan, not at all.
“But what it does do is it will help enfranchise those workers who are working in public transport, who want to stay in public transport, by incentivizing those persons in such a way that the benefits will redound to them and exclusively to them and that they would have a right as a player in public transport to see the benefits of their labour and that is going to be factored in,” Gooding- Edghill told the Standing Finance Committee.
“The plan obviously that we have, we have to have discussions with all the partners involved. We have to discuss it with the unions, with all of the private operators and we’re going to do that and at that point when we commence discussions other plans will be announced.
“But certainly the plan that we envisage for public transport will not realize or see any persons being displaced in terms of unemployment. It will be a wholesome plan, but at the end of the day, the plan will result in the Government being freed up from carrying the substantial load that they currently carry. That money that we are currently losing could be used to help build out our infrastructure and to help pay for other social services that we need in Barbados.”
The minister revealed that among the plans was the establishment of a Mass Transit Authority.
He said the Transport Augmentation Programme [TAP] was a good example of a public-private partnership initiative.
“The Government of Barbados has commenced a programme looking and reviewing the whole concept of a Mass Transit Authority. The public transport sector in Barbados is worth in excess of $200 million and people do not stay in business if they are not making money.
“The TAP has proven to be a great enabler and contributor for the Transport Board in terms of allowing the Transport Board to increase its carrying capacity and that is going well with the 12.5 per cent fee they are paying to the Transport Board,” the minister explained.

    Well put, Donna!

How could the young fellow be held responsible for his racial background or schooling?

Didn’t the late David Thompson- originating from a similarly mixed ancestry- display similar inchoate ‘jumped-up’ tendencies of the ‘yellow’ political hue?

Despite his youthful exuberance, he, “KK” is naturally blessed with a good intellect, wit and outstanding oratory skills.

Talents which must be further honed if his still inchoate political ambitions are to be realized but only at the expense of growing a sense of humility and the wisdom to concede when he is wrong as in the ‘landmark’ case of Caswell vs. the ‘Red’ Administration in the “Two DCoP” legal affair.

KK must also learn and rather quickly- as he ‘graduates’ from one political ‘degree’ to another during his attendance at the university of life- that the only difference between the two sets of students making up the Bajan BDLP class is the colours of their campaign financing begging bowls which are used as whip-rounds especially at general elections examination time to maintain the status quo.

Maybe the ‘ghost’ writer is not really “Douglas Smith” but the reincarnated ‘Douglas Leopold Phillips’ (DLP).

A deceitful lying person and a bogeyman resuscitated to be the bedbug to the young ‘sleeping’ pretender to the Red throne trying to nip the potential political ‘baby’ enemy of a giant in his playpen for a bed.

Maybe the Douglas Smith writer is a fortune teller with a political crystal ball who can see the chosen ‘front man’ for the growing ethnic group of ‘shadows’ to control the economic and political affairs of a future Barbadoes.

RE That is according to Minister of Transport, Works and Water Resources, Ian Gooding- Edghill, who today admitted Government could no longer carry that burden and would look to private operators to be largely responsible for transporting commuters across the island.

    WHAT IS YOUR POINT?
IF YOU ARE OBJECTING TO THE DECISION OR WISH FOR “private operators to be largely responsible for transporting commuters across the island.” PLEASE KINDLY NOTE, OR RECALL THAT THIS WAS THE CASE PRIOR TO JANUARY 1969, WHEN YOUR DLP GOVERNMENT AT THE TIME, STARTED THE DISENFRANCHISEMENT OF THE PRIVATE PERSONS THAT RAN THE BUS SERVICE.

THAT STUPID IDEA THEN, PROBABLY LED MR BIRCH TO AN EARLY DEMISE AS HE WAS DEPRIVED OF “HIS BIRDS” WHICH FAITHFULLY PLIED ROUTE 15

  18. Well last time I checked i had a Barbadian passport not a Russian or Chinese one. As a result of this the young man is free to share his views, are others are to oppose him. We do not practice verbal suppression here thankfully so, those that want to promote it can check with the Russian and Chinese embassy for immigration applications.

This is my final comment on this as the article really is not worthy of reading twice.

  19. Grasshopper

Your day may well come before you are completely bald.

It does my heart good, warms the cockles.

  20. The boy was born in Barbados, went to school in Barbados and by ALL APPEARANCES IS A BARBADIAN, AND HE IS OBVIOUSLY GOING TO BE MISTREATED AS BARBADIANS TREAT THIER FELLOWS WHO ARE HEADS AND SHOULDERS ABOVE THEM IN INTELLECT AND ABILITY .

I AM SURE THAT HE IS ALREADY MOST COGNIZANT OF THIS, IS CURRENTLY WEATHERING THE STORM WELL, AND WILL MOST LIKELY CONTINUE TO DO SO.

LEAVE THE LAD ALONE TO DEVELOP HIS GOD GIVEN ABILITY TO ITS ZENITH.

  21. Let us call it for what it is, he is a skilled political operative who supports the Gov’t and if you attack the Gov’t, he will come out swinging to defend it e.g., his position on the two Deputy Commissioners and various other subjects.

His youth, name, heritage and public stances especially in the political arena will attract some critics who will use all the foregoing to attack him, and this article may reflect others’ thinking.

  22. @David

Since you introduced the anti- Chinese element in relation to this topic, the Washington Post is reporting that the Sheriff who said the accused killer “had a bad day” used his personal facebook page to promote Tshirts which blamed “CHYNA” for the virus.

  23. If the young man is as intelligent as many suspect him to be, he will be long gone by his 27th birthday. He will be able to do a lot better for himself elsewhere.

  24. Attack the content of his speech if it needs to be attacked, not him.

What is it that he said that causes such offence?

  25. @David, you are right of course… the attacks are expected in this the life of politics!

In this heightened period this noise about the young man could be considered dangerously problematic … but frankly the lad should smile and enjoy every moment of his viral notoriety!

This is really no worst than other times.

He seems to be solidly on the same track as one particular other popular teenager (precocious youthful politician, very popular at secondary school and Head Boy, a TV star and all dat) .

So if he achieves academic success -as that student did – then clearly he and his parents read the script from that era and are determined to replay that movie where the hero reaches his maximum potential politically!

I see only one problem: Other people can read that script too and in a flash of social media fame propel themselves to super stardom!😎

What a thing, this lil business we call life … these mixed race children of Bajan parents/grandparents who had either married non-Bajans or Bajans of a different hue and ‘just so’ the off-spring get this license to captivate and enthrall we Bajans … What a ting!🙈

We had Grantley and he son Tom, Errol and den de star boy model now recast in KK!

Yet this newest shining star got unwise men kerfuffulled … or as you suggest … got them real upset and concerned!

We really gotta stop this love affair with these flashy taking, bright fellas (and ladies), fah rea!😎

Let’s hope he is as charming as David, as forthright a team builder as Erroll, as practical as Tom, as accomodating as Grantley and as honest as … ahem Obama, maybe!

And if you dont like his politics then you can hope he is as ‘successful’ as another Bajan/nonBajan hot shot teen David Co.missiong was at ascending the political ladder!

Or that there is another star already studying his or her lines from the script given to them by ambitious parents!

    I gone.

  26. @ John March 18, 2021 8:15 AM

Little John, we are proud of you to observe your ‘newly-embraced’ eclectic search for knowledge other than your limited and tarnished KJV for enlightenment.

Since you have been ‘referencing’ the temple teachings based on the life of the Buddha you must be aware that the faith called Buddhism has been around long before the dawn of your white manmade Christianity which is effectively a cult of Judaism morphed into European paganism

But keep up your childlike inquisitiveness. Some day you might just find yourself sitting under a Bajan tamarind tree and the Light might just shine through to remove those blindingly bigoted scales from your eyes.

  27. RE What is it that he said that causes such offence?

EASY. THE BOY IS OBVIOUSLY BRIGHT. AND IS SEEN AS PRECOCIOUS BY THE STANDARD DUMMY AROUND
IN BARBADOS THAT IS AN OFFENSE.
YOU BECOME A TARGET. AS YOU ARE HERE ON BU

FOR EXAMPLE IF YOU READ WIDELY AS A YOUTH, YOU OBVIOUSLY HAD A VOCABULARY FAR ABOVE THAT OF YOUR PEERS

    watch now watch

  28. Northern Observer

Well observed. If the pinnacle of his ambition is to be prime minister of Barbados there is a problem. If he has talent he should escape asap.

    • No surprise coming from you. Barbadians on the rock suffer from a condition according to you yet YOU and others of your ilk want us to discuss policy with the likes of you. It will not happen because you also suffer from a condition.

  29. GP I don’t see any private investor pumping money into that old broken down dead 🐴 called the Transport Board even if govt gave it away for free
However govt knowing the financial difficulties of the Transport board did not hesitate to pump millions into buying new buses which on any given day does not have enough ridership by which govt can recoup some of the millions which went to buying the buses
Also remember when past govt brought into play present govt intention of going the privatisation route the denials were loud and hard
There is also Caves which by way of govt movements in handing over the Caves to new management would also be privatize

According to your Judeo-Christian fundamentalist script of pure bigotry, shouldn’t you be describing the lad as a “SON OF SATAN” too?

KK the koochie kid will stand on his own and be tempted and tested like your Isa during his journey through the political wilderness.

Stop with your double-doses of mixed-up hypocrisy!

  31. I don’t buy into the spiel that spouting racism is being honest / opening up debate / a part of freedom of speech rights.
In UK there are people having little digs everyday / making snide remarks / giving dirty looks / ugly screw faces / people feeling threatened because simply some one is different and not the same / wicked racism against children / evil eyes evil minds evil hearts waiting to see people fail / racial violence / bullying / stereotyping / ignorance / prejudice / bias.

Every negative thought and action has a small or big effect in an accumulative way

  32. in Barbadoss and especially on BU we love to pull down and discredit those with obvious superior ability, and we support mediocrity.

One of the blessings of my life is to have been exposed from an early age to chaps who were as sharp or sharper than I was at HC and at UWI medical school.

I also had wonderful Bible teaching at a local baptist church , where I was not only taught the Bible, but how to study and teach it .

    Barbados thus qualifies.

Back then it was called Democratic Socialism, same leftist ideology as Fascism and Communism.

  44. @ Hal,
Absolutely not. I always use to love the classic Curtis Mayfield song “Freddie’s dead”. But was too young to associate it with political activism.

I was just making the point that the USA has always been blessed with a talent of young radical and political negro activists.

Unfortunately this movement never had the opportunity to grow and spread its roots in Barbados.

Who would have thought that a young man could be utilised in Barbados by this government as a storm trooper to suppress political debate within the country.

  48. @TLSN

In the 1960s, we had Leroy Harewood, John Connell, Calvin Alleyne, Glenroy Straughan, et al. We had the People’s Progressive Movement, and in the 1970s we had other organisations, of which @William can give more information.
Before that, in the 1940s and 50s, we had Wynter Crawford, Dan Blackett, Bolden, who had a welding shop in Carrington Village, et al.
This is the most conservative and reactionary generation of Barbadians since the turn of the 20th century – and the best formally educated.
Then we had Barbadians outside of Barbados: Peter Blackman senior (an old HC man), the grandfather of our outstanding children’s author; Phil Sealy, Aaron Haynes, and numerous other men and women.
We also had CLR James (of Barbadian heritage) Chris Brathwaite, George Padmore, Claudia Jones, her sister Althea LeCointe (of Mangrove Nine fame), her husband Eddie LeCointe, Cecil Gutzmore, Rhodan Gordon (of Mangrove Nine), Darcus Howe (of Barbadian heritage and Mangrove Nine), et al.
Do not forget the Barbadians and other Caribbean people who contributed to the Harlem Renaissance and the later Black Power movement.
There is a long history of Caribbean radicalism. Cinema is entertainment, and we have to be careful we do not get our history from the cinema and TV.

It is not about success, but OPPORTUNITY. The opportunity to exist where diversity is celebrated. Imagine, a few months back, a K, KH vs KK, of very similar ancestry was being celebrated by many. Not in Bim. His lack of 100% African ancestry is a problem. He may identify as Asian?? He is less Barbadian than if both his parents were African?? (even though the lot of us have all kind of mixed heritages)

Isn’t Quakerism a form of ‘enlightened’ Socialism?

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++

No, individuals own their means of production in Quakerism.

Slavery however produced a socialist utopia on the plantation where the slave was taken care of from cradle to grave.

Quakers ended this socialist utopia they came and found and gave the individual slaves their freedom and the rights to own their own means of production and to be recompensed for their labour.

Slaves, whether they realised it or not gave up their rights to be fed, housed and clothed and have their medical needs attended to.

These they purchased after emancipation from the income generated by their individual toil.

    As it should be.

  59. “After all we do not want our minorities to feel uncomfortable; nor our tourists or long term visitors.”

too late, it’s already been exposed to the world, all they can do is watch what happens next…watch it all unfold, no one give one damn what they think or how they fell…

I posted a recent video where an African leader refuses to continue exporting cocoa and gold….this is just one of a hundred or more reasons why….the greedy picgs for western companies continue to exploit and enslave…

    https://youtu.be/DXEHKptinSM

  60. no one gives one damn what they think or how they feel…that REIGN IS OVER, the parliament Negros and the Slaves can work and take care of them…..coddle and massage them, no one needs any of them, they deserve each other…

    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    You are contradicting yourself, John!

The same way you confused yourself with your ‘trumped-up’ tissue of lies about the last November presidential election outcome with you even having the guts to lie up to the bitter end of January 20th.

You are even still lacking the basic decency to accept that your idol is nothing more than a Covid-infected tissue discarded to the political dustbin of history.

How could the Quakers in Barbados be enlightened capitalists when they themselves were the biggest owners of the slaves living on the same socialist utopian plantations? Can’t the Anglican argue the same humanitarian approach to their involvement in black chattel slavery?
Who do you think used to work those ‘glebe’ lands? Monkeys in straw hats?

How could have the black slaves ever become owners of their own “means of production” when they were legally banned from owning land and lacking the independent means to earn money to even entertain such a venture?

Why did you think the Freehold Tenantries Act was put on the statute book in the early 1980’s or thereabout?

Stop telling lies on the poor Quakers. There were first and foremost slave owners even if with the compassionately lustful intention of impregnating their own stock of nigg**er bed wenches.

  64. I have not read most of the responses, but will address the article itself, only in short form, because that is all that it deserves.

The article is blatantly racist and is hypocritical. ”We do not intend this as an attack on the young boy. We will leave the attacks to him”.

It is most surely a direct attack on him and his history. It directly blames his ancestors for exploitation of black people and tries to place blame on him. No? Then why even ask how he considers it? The second sentence is also a barb. Whomever wrote this is one of those who whispers rumours and then puts a caveat that ‘but that ent come from me, I ent so’.

Honestly I have not read most of the young fellow’s submissions. However, the few that I have read showed someone trying to discuss rationally and that is enough for me. Surely I would disagree with some of his assertions, but in the matter of the CXC, he is quite right to stand up and be counted.

The lack of responsive action and interactive discussion by those at the CXC, with students, is appalling.

THIS is the destructive mentality that Barbados cannot afford. Especially seeing someone young and positive who wishes to contribute to the development of Barbados.

I actually wonder, if the article is a blast piece, trying to paint mud on him, but coming from an altogether different source, who is threatened by his youthful agitation, under the guise of an alter ego?

Looking at the workforce of the Transport board and there is no doubt that new owners would not have an appetite to maintain the man power which govt holds
Also govt would not be able to escape such a fallout leading to more people having to turn to social programs for help
Another financial burden which govt would have to absorb

USA and UK have showed what happens when you empower racists in politics with Trump and Brexit which offered nothing and is setting the bar low and the lowest common denominator for cheap votes. Politicians may not even believe their own crap but it kills debate in elections.

  77. @ TheoGazerts who wrote ” If KK was my son, I would tell him not to read this blog. He does not need the negativity.”

  78. @ Quaker John

The Jordans are rather interesting. They are best known in the UK for Jordans Cereals. There is a village called Jordans, about 40 miles outside London in Buckinghamshire, a typical Quaker village.
They have a very good cricket team which I used to play against. Alcohol is not allowed in the village, and as a result all around the village are pubs, off licences and restaurants.
The net result was that after the game there was a mad rush for the pubs/restaurants. I love the cereals.

  79. @ 555 Dubstreet
You are totally out of line reference me as an Indian hater. You know absolutely nothing about me and I know less about you. Furthermore, I can embarrass you fully right now but I tend to keep my family out of my political and social activism. There is no way I can be an Indian hater . I completely reject the local Indians parasitic corporate and social behavior and that is known by now by the whole of Barbados. That’s not hatred – it’s a personally held political view based on fact and not misplaced emotionalism. You or nobody else on this blog can shame me . My views are known to all and sundry.
Furthermore, from the time Mr. Kothdiwala’ wrote his first article on BU,I said that it was refreshing to have a young Barbadian so engaged. As far as I am concerned any Barbadian of any race or any social and economic standing has a right to enter politics or anything else that he or she deems in their interest. Mr. Kithdiwala is certainly no exception as far as I am concerned.
So the next time you put pen to paper or hit the keys think before you write and by the way if you or anybody else think, you will gain Massa points by exposing me- think again every white and Indian in Barbados knows how William Skinner views them and he has made it public going back more than 50 years that they are exploiters of the working class and have a disproportionate wealth that must be questioned by any body who believes that such wealth was built on the backs of the Black working class aided and abetted by the Black political class.
    I don’t hate ; I educate and agitate.
I wish Mr. Kothduwala all the best in his activism and politics. However I disagree with at least 90 percent of what he writes. I don’t expect him to agree with anything I write.

  81. Let me put it this way
Once the young man steps into the political sphere
He becomes a target for anything thrown his way which will prove his ability to withstand and fight off political projectiles and having the stamina and intestinal fortitude to become a leader
Let’s see how he deals with all the negativity ( first) before placing him on a pompous and egostistcal platform of becoming a leader of a mostly black population

I take it you don’t mix with Indians on a personal level as you would not say what you say and if you did and knew their families as friends and saw their children grow up from babies to adults to parents you would humanise them better.
Socialising is a two way street, that you can indulge in.
I can call out people for repugnant racism in public domain if they sound like they deserve it, which I did.

After that, our Supreme Leader should entrust him with an inessential government office, for example as Minister of Arts. Later, our Supreme Leader should appoint KK as Minister of Propaganda. As a prelude to power, so to speak. There he may, in tandem with so-called neutral commentators in the social media, brainwash the population.

However, KK will have to be patient until he once comes to power. For our Supreme Leader will hopefully soon be promoted to President for Life in the People´s Republic of Barbados.

  85. What we would like to see is the KK being invited to sit as the youth representative on the Committee which by now must have been established to revise the existing Constitution which clearly is unfit for the proposed ‘Republican’ status.

The boy wonder with his ‘lawyering’ leanings has a good appreciation of the current convoluted Constitution with its major shortcomings and can make meaningful contributions to its replacement to reflect a modern Barbados where every citizen in equal under the law.

  86. The underlying message from some but not all is that Khaleel Kothwilda has nothing he can offer to the country due to his mixed race heritage even though he looks and sounds like a black barbajan the blacks in barbados do not trust his motives.

However, in my humble opinion, the members of the Constitutional Convention need some ideological training to ensure that our new Constitution actually turns out in the best interests of our Supreme Leader. My recommended reading:

    Han Fei, Han Feizi
    Hobbes, Leviathan
    Machiavelli, The Prince
Carl Schmitt, The Crisis of Parliamentary Democracy

  91. The precocious youngster, KK, is in good company and will in due time became a member of this list of high profile Indians.

The UK received large numbers of Ugandan Asians in the early seventies after they were expelled from Uganda. Many of them have thrived in the UK.

The British colonists entrusted Asians to run Kenya and Uganda; allowing them to manage commerce whilst they, the english elite, indulged in sport, relaxation and socialising.

It did not take this group long to establish there dominance within the UK. A number of them admitted to the mistreatment of the African population by their own people.
