This video raised its ugly rh head in Barbados last evening.

The more discerning among us are aware racism and bigotry are unwelcome human characteristics present everywhere humans exist. We accept human beings are imperfect creatures. However, it does not mean when these unsavoury qualities show its ugly head that civil society should not promote relevant policies and other measures as requires to nurture tolerance and educate fellow citizens in the interest of growing a wholesome society.

The mouthings from the person in the video is the result of many things which Barbadians have known and been tardy to addressing over the years. Crypto racism has been discussed often enough in this forum- for years. It must be addressed in a structured way. Spouting balderdash is easy for some but it will take much more to excoriate the scourge of racism and bigotry that has metastasize over centuries.

  1. After the riots of the 1930s the Moyne Report was issued by the British.

Even its mild findings were largely kicked into the tall grass as well.

When you make socio-economic transformation, not reforms, impossible – you should expect grapes of wrath.

  2. Baje, this is the thought we all must bearing mind when we are confronted with behaviour as we have seen in the video.
There is only one Race-the human race.
Hate is choice. love is a choice. I choose love.

  3. @ Lawson

Yes he is married to a black lady and I can tell you for a fact she works as hard as he does at her business even though she married money.

  4. Baje
And what has Colorism or Shadism to do with one’s moral compass?

  5. We waste our consumer power. Just stop shopping at or using their services. But that calls for discipline.

    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    @ Hal

MANY IDIOTS ON BU WOULD LIKE TO SLAUGHTER YOU FOR TELLING THE TRUTH.

LIKE THE WHITE IDIOT EXPOSED IN THE VIDEO THEY ARE AMONG THE PRIMARY REASONS WHY MANY BLACKS ON THE 2 x 3 ISLAND CONTINUE TO LIVE IN THEIR WARPED SENSE OF REALITY AND THE WHITES CONTINUE TO BE THEIR SUPERIORS..

  6. There is evidence to support the decades of racism practiced against the majority population on a daily basis…so if what BUs pseudo psycologists and psychiatrists are saying about the mental state of Barbados’ minority racists and it’s some disease of madness…BECAUSE MOST OF THEM ACT JUST LIKE CORBIN…then they are a danger to the Black population. the peace and tranquity of the society and should all be removed from the island…send them back to UK, they are rejects…. or at least have them confined to the Black Rock and other temporary mental institutions until they are removed from society completely…then they’ll no longer represent a threat.

  7. This is a simplistic position. The agencies for key products are owned by whites and foreign.

The electronic business arena is controlled by whites and foreign.

If we want to disrupt how we as consumers do business more pressure must be brought to bear by our regulators and GOVERNMENT to democratize who control the channels at source.

  8. Being married to a racist does not stop racism from rearing it’s ugly head…one dude married and has a son with his Black wife…flew all the way from Hawaii to storm the Capitol…engage in daily racist crap on right wing websites just like Black John and GP….being racist is an individual CHOICE..it has nothing to do with whom ya are married…..it’s a jackal and hyde predisposition…black John is just that…BLACK…and check him out with his wretched curse…

  9. Watch the video again and mute the sound. Just study the guys movements and behaviour and tell me what you see.*

Err no I won’t watch the video again. That’s pointless and foolish. What you are doing is being wilfully ignorant and trying to look past the obvious.

Do you also want to study the sound of the engine to figure out what kind of truck the guy is driving too?

    #absurd

  10. I take it BUs psychologists and psychiatrists no longer want to rubber stamp their diagnosis of pretend madness in racists…but i would still remove at least 6,000 racist minorities out of Black lives…they are toxic and spread cancer daily throughout the society and have for over 100 years.

the Black majority don’t need them, never have, never will, they are thieves, moochers and scroungers.

  11. The tolerance which the dominant and minorities have promoted as a good quality of a Barbados society, it has served us well some will say to tolerate crypto racism to support the argument of a stable society. The time has come where this is a position in good conscience cannot be allowed to continue. We must do what we have to in order to purge mindsets. To do a rebuild.

  12. The Gamestop saga shows that share prices go up with coordinated targeted purchases by mobs of individual investors with the same frenzy as the Capital Hill Protest Riots mass hysteria

But, what companies should blacks invest in for black growth in collateral wealth management.

That’s another reason why a black fund should be the go to for black investors.

  13. William Skinner February 4, 2021 10:25 AM #: “@ Artax – Kindly explain your “ structured way” to address racism in Barbados.”

    Mr. Skinner

Racism has been discussed on BU on several occasions. Each time the issue is raised, we have the same people ‘saying’ the same things, ad nauseam. And, then there are those individuals who will always drift off the topic to hurl personal attacks.
As such, I was simply agreeing with the author of the article that, rather than “spouting balderdash,” we should add some sort of structure to the discussion.

For example, I’ve read a discussion in this forum in which there was an apparent attempt to separate systemic and institutional racism, when both terms are interchangeable.
I’ve also seen comments which seems to suggest Africans who were brought to the Caribbean as slaves are indigenous to the region.
If so, then, how do we define the Irish indentured servants who came to the British West Indies to work on plantations, before the slave trade was introduced? Do their descendants have a similar right to reside in the former English colonies as African descendants?

It has also been suggested that, on one hand, Black and white people should unite against the ‘new Barbadians’ for specific reasons, but, on the other, Black people as consumers, should boycott white businesses when issues of racism arise.

We need to ask ourselves what have successive, post independence governments done to address the problem of racism?

I’ve also read contributions to BU, in which the authors romanticize the pre independence era.

In other words, what I’m trying to ‘say’ is that we’re ‘like Pooka……. all over the place.’

  14. @ Artax, it was not a self recorded video. The person taking the video appears to be sitting beside the driver. He or whoever it was that uploaded the video to social media must be applauded for taking such action and therefore not penalized under the Computer Misuse Act. Below is what I was forwarded that led to the out burst. It has not been confirmed.

“Bajans we have our own white supremacis that still think we on a plantation , CLIFF CORBIN , his tractor hit a lady’s car an broke the bumper he told her he fix it so the lady had call the police an when she told him he took off now he wont pay . He hates all blacks listen to this . De Realist”

  15. Heather February 4, 2021 11:39 AM #: “@ Artax, it was not a self recorded video. The person taking the video appears to be sitting beside the driver.”

    @ Heather

Wow. Thanks. I wouldn’t have realised if you hadn’t mentioned it.

  16. Thesmall time racists DEPEND on the Black population for their survival…they would have NOTHING otherwise, yet white trash like tiefing Cow and most of the other trash still call the black population on the island slaves…while robbing them their land, the young their opportunites and resources, flooding the island with guns and drugs….helping the black trash in the parliament keep them oppressed and suppressed….and the slaveminded see nothing at all wrong with that, while they sink deeper and deeper into poverty….those are the slaves to avoid.

  17. I listening to Brasstacks on vob929.

Coming up in the 12.30 news. ” Some Barbadians are calling for an apology and some are calling for a BOYCOTT.

  18. @ Dullard

Carry on smartly then on the road you are on. If he was a black truck driver cursing whites would you watch the video again to see If he seemed mentally sound? If a white person passed ninja man in town and got cursed should we post that too? You want to take the mental state and rantings of one clown and make a case for racism.

Your position is clear so please feel free now to have the last word..

  19. What I hope to see done is that the police will look into this matter and charge him for leaving the scene of an accident as well as any other charges under the computer misuse act or any other act.

  20. At least intelligent Black Bajans are doing what is necessary…every black country must see and hear and know these dirty white racists in Barbados for what they are…no escaping this time…GOTCHA …especially in Guyana where they think they will get away with the same evil shit they’ve been doing in Barbados for too many decades because they can NEVER GO TO THE BIGGER COUNTRIES AND GET AWAY WITH IT……and would never get away with any of it, if the black faces in parliament weren’t so damn corrupt and self-hating…

    time to isolate them..

  21. What really is a shame is that this article has prompted worse racism from black people writing here. Calling for boycotts of white and indian peoples business’s. Many black people who have commented here are many more times racist than the white people I know throughout the Caribbean. Probably many more times racist than this arsehole in the video. Note he is very angry about something, we all say and do things when we are angry that we do not otherwise do.

  22. John AFebruary 4, 2021 8:53 AM

He sound like he belong behind the green gates in black rock. I don’t think he is 100%

    +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

    You got it right away!!!

The dummies here being led by alot of other dummies.

    Not worth the time discussing.

  23. @ William
    @ Baje
That is what I meant by discipline. It comes from the same place as the saying: “this is my money, you cannot tell me how to spend it”. The heart of ignorance.

  24. Here we go now.

  25. @ Hal
    @ Baje
    @ WURA
    @ Pacha
    Note 2 things:
    1. The apologies and excuses made on behalf of the white man
    2. The absence of those who are usually here condemning black politicians
I have been listening to Brasstacks and the same thing .
The Minister of Home Affairs should make a statement.

  26. Carry on smartly then on the road you are on. If he was a black truck driver cursing whites would you watch the video again to see If he seemed mentally sound? Nonsense! If I had four wheels I would be a car.

I agree 100% with Artax and others here. It is time to move past talk and make you Albinos pay.

Serious boycotts of your businesses would be an easy place to start.

    Boycott. Boycott. Boycott.

@David, so what is the root issue (s) if not ‘free speech rights’ first and foremost and then of course your interesting description “crypto” racism.

We can beat up @Lawson for many of his prior remarks but here the man is absolutely right: the ranter has every right to say what he wants to as long as he does not break any laws in so doing.

That is NOT a defense of him or of the hate he clearly generates with his words.

If an Eric Sealy style brother had issued a similarly worded cuss out about Bajan white shadows then we would boldly support his right to say such wouldn’t we!

We know racism is deep seated in Bim … and to use @Artax style facetious retort re how the video was created … we REALLY would not have been aware of its insidious depth in Bajan society if this white man’s pissed off moment didn’t inform us, now would we!

I am also a bit confounded by this reference to the “Computer Misuse Act – malicious communications”!

Who is being charged (would be) the actor or the one uploading?? And for what exactly??

When was talking hate – by itself, without incitation to illegality- deemed a crime??

Many Bajan whites dislike Blacks and many Blacks would love to kick the asses of many a Bajan white person; yet many of both also are married and sleep next to one or the other too….

We know the racial dislike is strong with some so how does this man’s rant change that or move anything further along – bad or good.

    It does not!

  28. @ William

It appears to me to be an offence under hate crime legislation or race relations legislation. He is identifiable, so he should be arrested. You are right about the minister of home affairs making a statement.
But it is a wider issue, and politicians, and civil leaders, should speak out. Ours is a talking culture, not an action one.
And quite often we talk about things we hardly understand. Had he done that in the UK he would have been arrested and charged and would most probably face a jail term; he certainly would have been sacked if he was an employee.

  29. @Dee Word

And we have the right to use the exposure to recalibrate.

TOLERANCE OF BEING SUBJUGATED AND AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TOTEM POLE.

SHOULD BLACK BAJANS ON THE 2 x 3 ISLAND CONTINUE FOR THE MOST PART SUFFER IN SILENCE AND BE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TOTEM POLE WHERE THEY ARE 95% MAJORITY.

    SOUNDS IDENTICAL TO SOUTH AFRICA.

SOME OF YOU GUYS ARE SICK SICK SICK AND DON’T EVEN KNOW IT.

MUST BE PART OF MENTAL SLAVERY OR KICKING DOWN THE LADDER FOR OTHER BLACK LOCALS LESS FORTUNATE.

ONE BONAFIDE IDIOT CALLED ME RACIST WHEN I SAID WHERE I HAVE SEEN MANY WHITES DOING THE SAME SHITE HE ACCUSES BLACKS OF.

DOESN’T MATTER I OWN A BUSINESS EMPLOYING AND CONTRACTING BLACKS, HISPANIC AND WHITES.

PEOPLE NEED TO DEAL WITH REALITY NOT FIND EXCUSES FOR BULLSHIT.

BOYCOTT THE WHITE AND INDIAN OWNED BUSINESSES ON THE 2 x 3 ISLAND UNLESS HAVE NO OTHER OPTION.

SHOP ONLINE AT ALIBABA, ALIEXPRESS, AMAZON ETC IF YOU CAN AND CUT OUT THESE FOOLS.

  31. @ Dullard

Wait because I got a different approach to the matter i is an albino now ? LOL

    Careful you girdle showing 😂😂

  32. This discussion as john2 say ain’t worth the space it taking up. One disillusioned person does not make an argument against a whole race be they white or black.

Hopefully when the police charge him for leaving the scene of the accident, they can send him for an evaluation. Someone with the level of rage he is showing should not be driving a truck.

  33. IS IT A CRIME to drivie a vehicle with a cell phone in one hand and the other hand sometimes on the steering wheel ?

  34. “The tolerance which the dominant and minorities have been promoted as a good quality of a Barbados society. ”

that is ALL LIES AND FRAUD….and DBLP wicked sellouts know it….it’s a facade to continue robbing the people and island…all of them should be charged with TREASON.

  35. “BOYCOTT THE WHITE AND INDIAN OWNED BUSINESSES ON THE 2 x 3 ISLAND UNLESS HAVE NO OTHER OPTION.”

and the syrians, they are no better..

they do have an option…black people can STOP SHOPPING with this trash PERMANENTLY…shut them down. forever, no one needs them and the only black people who will miss them are the corrupt and sellouts.

  36. Heather…just so you know, there was NO POVERTY IN AFRICA until Europeans carried it there to support their crimes against Africans…poverty is a man made concept….that is backfiring…those whites now in poverty can go back to Holland, that’s where they belong, they will never be Africans…not with the history they themselves created.

  37. Apologists for racists are saying that the driver has mental health issues
does that mean 66% of whites in America have the same sickness for voting for racist platform

  38. All the racists in Barbados act just like Corbin…if they all have mental health issues, they’re are to be PERMANENTLY SEPARATED FROM BLACK PEOPLE with that toxic hatred……or information will be reaching every Black country to KEEP THEM OUT…

RE: “If an Eric Sealy style brother had issued a similarly worded cuss out about Bajan white shadows then we would boldly support his right to say such wouldn’t we!”

I agree with you. But, to do so, may be interpreted as “apologies and excuses made on behalf of the white man.”

RE: “I am also a bit confounded by this reference to the “Computer Misuse Act – malicious communications”!”

Please note I wrote, “I’m writing under correction.” It was not a definitive statement.

However, ‘on second thoughts,’ although the guy’s rants in the video could be characterised as ‘indecent or obscene,’ he did not record it nor was it communicated to a specific individual.

According to Act – malicious communications:

Where a person uses a computer to send a message, letter, electronic communication or article of any description that:

    (a). is indecent or obscene;
(b). is or constitutes a threat; or
    (c). is menacing in character,

and he intends to cause or is reckless as to whether he causes annoyance, inconvenience, distress or anxiety to the recipient or to any other person to whom he intends it or its contents to be communicated, he is guilty of an offence and is liable on summary conviction to a fine of $10 000 or to imprisonment for a term of 12 months or to both.

Sounds like the kind of thing which should have applied in the case of your ongoing support for another white supremacist called D.J. Trump.

But BU allowed you the nauseating privilege to shoot your load of racist propaganda in support of a fellow madman now straight-jacketed and relegated to his own world of ignominy.

The Bajan white trash of a racist has a right to express his views about black people.

But unlike you, he thinks bringing the “nig***ers out of Africa” has turned out to be a major mistake which has now become a massive burden on his fellow tar brush tarnished Bajan ‘white’ people.

And he might just be right on the money with his ‘Closed Brethren” apartheid approach to race relations where his white god has given his kind dominion over the inferior beings like blacks.

Shouldn’t you expect the Bajan Police to investigate the matter with the objective of at least bringing a charge against the “mad man” for violating the Road Traffic Act regulations regarding driving without due care and attention while holding a cell phone and while under the full influence of road rage?

  41. de pedantic DribblerFebruary 4, 2021 12:54 PM

    Excellent comment.

There is a lot disheartening here, but nothing that we did not already know. On the specific incident, clearly whomever was with him, either got him mid rant, or knew that he has done this before so decided to video it and posted it. That it was posted, indicates that the person is fed up with him and wanted to expose this behaviour.

Obviously the behaviour is atrocious. I do not accept insanity or whatever. There are people of all races, in every country, who hate others on the basis of race, religion or other beliefs. He is one.

However, the words he used were particularly nasty. ‘Why did they bring you all from Africa’. That bit is so spiteful, stated with or without regard, either equally bad, for all of those who suffered that awful trans-Atlantic journey and those who perished on that brutal journey. If he thought about that in his choice of words, terrible, if he did not think about that, equally terrible.

    Inexcusable.

However, as said, we know that the Barbadian psyche is still deeply entrenched with the remnants of a plantation society. This mentality demonstrates that some of the overseer attitude has come down through generations, two or three and he thinks that he has a right to judge others.

That is where the real conversation must start and remember, the PM did state that we will discuss this, after the current crisis of the pandemic is over.

However, it pains me to see that some wish to paint all with the same brush. Not every white man nor Indian thinks like him. There are others, yes, but not all.

I see action against all white and Indian as some suggest, as destructive and does not bode well for the future. But……..I am only one person and the majority rules.

Are we really telling anyone white or Indian to get out? Let us make that clear now. If so, so be it. However, if we genuinely wish to build the society on a somewhat multicultural basis moving forward, then that is not the way.

We should aim to lift all, not pull down or exclude anyone. There is no doubt that some have their own self interest in mind, with no regard for anyone else. I agree, that they are not useful for the future development of a nation. But that cannot be a blanket assumption.

Tell me, if we choose the first option, where does it end? Who, in the end, will be ‘acceptable’?

As I have said before on this blog, the young people see different. To my experience, they are the ones willing too see past black, white and Indian. That is where my hope lies.

But I do agree, we need to root this out and the start of that is to acknowledge the suffering and long term issues that the plantation era caused.

Current policy can go some way to changing the inherited socioeconomic situation. However, first we need to accept that the plantation era created a world of hurt that has been brought down through the generations.

Sometimes the one whom you think is your friend may be your enemy and the one whom you think is your enemy, is your friend.

At the end of the day, many, of any race, are just getting by to get by and actually wish to live in peace and love, despite those who seek to sow discord rather than genuine progress.

I am with active progress, but with caution to be wary of those who are more interested in discord, than genuine harmony.

It is about building a civilisation, rather than destroying with no goal.

As I posted on another entry a few weeks ago. Where do we wish to be, in five years? The same applies here.

  42. “2. The absence of those who are usually here condemning black politicians”

now we separate the most conscious from the pretenders.

there is NO SUCH THING AS REVERSE RACISM, it’s a LIE that NEVER EXISTED……so all you frauds crawling out thinking this is going away NO IT’S NOT…no one cares about your bullshit lies and attempts to continue your crimes against black people…you will be exposed everyday and EVERYWHERE.

  43. ArtaxFebruary 4, 2021 1:45 PM

In my opinion, the computer misuse act will only be relevant here, is if he is the person who posted it or caused it to be posted.

The third party who seems to have posted it, posted what they saw as a rant which needed to be exposed, for the public good.

That is how I interpret it.

Once it was not the first, waste of court time.

  44. Wait because I got a different approach to the matter i is an albino now ? LOL Careful you girdle showing *

Girdle showing what. Again you’re being wilfully obtuse. You do it all the time. But you know that. Back to the point.

Time boycott the Albino businesses in Barbados.

The above retort @ Miller February 4, 2021 1:47 PM is aimed (solely) at Sir Johnny the Trump lover and not at our level-headed and rational “John A” blessed with a crown of diamonds simply made from Commonsense.

  46. The spineless, deferential, apologetic comments on this blog suggest to the Dullard that black Bajans really deserve to be treated like dogs.

Trust Bajans to engage in empty discussion about details of the computer misuse act and diagnoses of the Albinos mental state. Unbelievable really.

No wonder Lawson and John keep telling you that you were better off as slaves.

and that’s what BUs slaveminded dummies don’t understand, we got a short clip, but it’s quite obvious he said a lot more for a much longer time and it was so disgusting and disturbing that the person whose ears and mind were assaulted started recording because the person knows him personally AND KNOWS JUST HOW DANGEROUS TO BLACK PEOPLE THAT THIS WHITE TRASH IS..

  48. “The spineless, deferential, apologetic comments on this blog suggest to the Dullard that black Bajans really deserve to be treated like dogs.”
