Those restrictions should only come into play once that company has been deemed to have such a large market share they have now be come a monopoly. Once that determination has been made that the monopoly law would kick in. Using your Daily Mail newspaper as an easy example. If they choose not to run a legal ad and they are the only newspaper, they would be liable. However, if they are other newspapers they can choose to run the same ad, they would not be liable.
If Twitter was deemed to have reached monopoly status, you would deal with people like Trump, supremacists, leftists loons and all the other undesirables under the breaking the law rules. If incitement to violence is a law and you, the monopoly company decide to block them, they have the right to take the matter to the FTC/court to dispute their claim that you violated the law. If found guilty the company would face heavy compensation to the aggrieved party.

They might very well be if they are deemed to have a monopoly is getting video advertisements and presentations to be public. It is up to the powers that be to determine if the monopolistic situation exists and start to treat them as a monopoly.
It should not just apply to news media but to any business which is starting to behave in a monopolistic manner. Monopolistic actions are not good for anyone and should be curtailed at all costs for everybody’s good.

Twitter has done with Trump and others what they are allowed to do under their terms and conditions like any private company has the right to do once those terms and conditions do not conflict with the law. However, if Twitter had been deemed the monopoly that it is because of market share, they would have to operate under different rules and there might have been sanctions under that scenario.
Censorship is a very ticklish and subjective thing so the best way I think to deal with it is with better identification and policing of monopolies, duopolies and racketeering companies. Strengthen the regulation of companies falling into those brackets with the monopoly laws they will be operating under taking precedent over their own terms and conditions as a private company.
Consumer protection for all in an easy. The companies would either have to make sure they don’t reach monopoly status or be prepared to operate under monopoly regulations.
After all the fun. Had to tell one person who was talking trash, just remember the aftermath…there is free speech and then there is instigating murder and mayhem…too many stupid power hungry people are walking around..i can carry on and on, but as soon as in comes to actually setting up someone to die, outside of self defense, ya on ya own.
