    When ever a people with superior technology interface with one of inferior technology, there is only going to be one outcome. The superior advanced group invariably exerts influence on the group whose level of technological mastery is inferior. This has been the case through out history.

    I think it is more a unifying belief.

    I would rewrite the statement like this,

    When ever a people that are unified by a belief system interface with a people with divisive beliefs, there is only going to be one outcome.

    The unifying belief overcomes the divisive beliefs.

    An example of this is how Christianity overcame ancient Rome!!

    We could also look at the spread of Islam 6 centuries later.

    .. and then the spread of Christianity into the New World.

    Technology is an adjunct and results from people who think alike concentrating on solving problems to enhance their survival.

    The concentration of many minds on one problem at a time leads to the technologies that solve that problem .. and then a host of other problems.

    To undermine the “superior” group it is necessary to undermine its belief system.

    That’s a very bitter worldview. What about the millions of non-whites that were: educated, trained in agriculture, gained transportation, gained technology, learned of new forms of law, or learned of a G-d that loved and forgave ALL human errors BECAUSE an outsider came? If one holds onto bitterness, one cannot grasp the lessons of life in the present and future.

    lexicon you are one stupid person Enin scored 2250 out of 2400 on his sats 11th in his school not even in the top 1% nation wide so be accurate or be quite. Now the reason I wanted a picture of you and donna disengaging was hardly bigoted it was to see who was on top but I am pretty sure it was donna anyways. But instead of living your life through someone else whether it is a slave ancestor or smart student post your own sats

    I do not hold on to bitterness. The past happened. We acknowledge its effects and try to move past them.. What happened to black people left them wondering who they are and believing that there is nothing worthwhile in their past to remember. Viewing the world through the white man’s lens has left us with a distorted view of ourselves. We need to correct our poor self-esteem. You do know what poor self-esteem does to a person, don’t you?

    But when those of us who have moved past it try to share, what happened here this morning ALWAYS HAPPENS. Some white man takes it as a personal attack, jumps in with racial put downs and accuses us of blaming them and living in the past.

    Why can’t they just leave us be so that we can share and move forward? Isn’t that how we can get past it? By sharing our stories? By correcting the flawed perspective. By facing our truths?

    In the days when the SAT was scored out of 1600, even though I never saw a perfect 1600, I have certainly seen my neighbour’s perfectly ordinary kid, from a perfectly ordinary Bajan home score 1595 out of 1600. And I have seen plenty, plenty of scores above 1400 from those schools which according to Hal Austin teaching and learning take place by rote. Ordinary Bajan kids who did not go to expensive SAT lessons. In fact I rarely saw a score below 1200. Back in those days most U.S. universities found 1000 to be an acceptable score.

    I expect that the children’s grandmother moved into the White House because she loves her family, and they love her. And besides cross cultural studies have shown that children who have regular access to their grandmothers, especially their mother’s mother tend to do better that children who do not.

    The same research may have shown that grandfathers named lawson are damned useless.

    I think that the black race (the writer of the article as well) should take a note of what the Chinese are doing. The Chinese had to modified their ways and adapt western mode of technology. If they had not done so, China would where the Islamic countries are today.

    P.S. Actually I find Lawson funny sometimes. I don’t think he’s a hard core racist, he’s just not able to understand the effects of what was done to us. He equates the short-term Jewish Holocaust, in which the Jews were never separated from their identity and history, with hundreds of years of slavery where our identity and history was deliberately erased. Jews do not have an inferiority complex. Many black people do. Jews were not mentally enslaved. Black people were and still are in most cases. The “Christian” world rallied around the Jews and Israel in a way that it has not rallied around black people.

    The real problem with Lawson is that he reacts personally when we talk of the white man and closes his mind to anything we say. He will not allow us to tell our story. He jumps in with the “correction” – the white man’s perspective. That is why I have a problem with Lawson.

    The real villain though, is 45. He actually thinks white supremacy is the natural order of things. Nothing to fix there.

    Africa, as I said before experienced “developmental interruptus” due to European exploitation. There are therefore many who have not developed as they would have otherwise. Ignorance remains in certain areas. But you do know that this is not pervasive, don’t you? You judge a whole continent based on one incident you highlighted?????

    Should we judge the white countries by a similar standard???? It was not so long ago that the “‘Christians” of the USA went from Sunday morning worship straight to the lynching tree, carrying their picnic baskets for the festivities. With their children lifted high on their shoulders for good viewing they tortured burnt and hung with religious fervour those they conveniently considered not quite human as per their version of the Bible. Some of them were children.

    Even more recently white “Christians” of the Dutch Reform Church enjoyed a similar “sport” in South Africa. As recently as 1990! Less than 30 years ago! And they did not give up voluntarily. They would still be doing it otherwise.

    But you just wish to denigrate Africa and all things African, don’t you. That is what you do.

    And in doing so you make my point for me.

    But alas, so steeped in their ways are they (racist ways….. ssh) that I fear this will not be the last time.

    Why is it that they do not want us to feel good about ourselves or be proud of the good aspects of our heritage? Why must they insert themselves into every conversation with insults and “corrections”?
