Some years ago I found out about genetic memory and it’s effects generationally, I even shared that info on BU, am sure most did not even pay attention, neither can they remember, but it is a generational system of what beat up ourselves about without knowing the cause.

Notwithstanding the action of the British Gov’t both Charles Skeete and Hal A have made references to people not regulating their status when they had the opportunity to do so and this point has been overlooked or discounted in most of the dialogue on these pages. Others are now learning that as immigrants one should never assume that one accrues the rights and obligations of native born citizens unless one takes specific actions to do this. In my personal life I made the decision to become a citizen as soon as the mandatory waiting period was reached. I have read of Caribbean born immigrants who bring their minor children lawfully to metropolitan countries but neglect to take steps to ensure these children become full citizens. Fast forward 20 years later and the now adult “children”, nurtured and schooled in their new country find themselves on the other side of the law and as non- citizens are unceremoniously dumped back into their birth country with little or no resources and become social and criminal liabilities in that country.
We can blame the State for its actions but some of us need to look into the mirror.

In this febrile political climate, one of the first casualties is truth. Since the 1962 Commonwealth Immigration Act, the issue of race relations and immigration have always been at the forefront of political debate in the UK.

When Thatcher came to power in 1979, again race and immigration were at the centre of the political debate. That year, and the following, we had riots at the Notting Hill carnival. Remember Thatcher’s ‘flooded’ comments during a TV interview and her subsequent election victory in 1979; we again had riots in 1980 and 81.
I have said all that to remind people that race and immigration was always part of the political debate. Enoch Powell made his speech in 1968.
I have said in this blog that the Referendum was not about EU membership, nor even about white Eastern Europeans, but really about non-white residents, the majority of whom are UK born.
Forget the intervention of Caribbean politicians and diplomats, the real question is why over the last 47 years did these people not regularise their status? Because the British state is hostile does not mean they must be blamed for everything. The other issue is that we must name and shame the Labour MP who did not support the early day motion. That is important since most black people vote Labour.
It is interesting to note in today Prime Minister’s Questions Jeremy Corbyn did not back Diane Abbott and call for the resignation of the Home Secretary. Was that an oversight, or deliberate.
As the prime minister pointed out, the landing cards were burned under the Labour government, in 2009, not under her in 2010.
But if we are looking for a cause this appears to be a good one to hang on to – ignore the fundamental truth. Remember the average age of the Windrush generation..

Philip May, husband of the UK prime minister, works for a company that is the largest shareholder in arms manufacturer, BAE Systems, whose share price has soared since the recent airstrikes in Syria.
The company, Capital Group, is also the second-largest shareholder in Lockheed Martin – a US military arms firm that supplies weapons systems, aircraft and logistical support. Its shares have also rocketed since the missile strikes last week.
The fact has not gone unnoticed by some on Twitter, who agree that BAE Systems has done very well out of the UK-US-France allied airstrikes on Syria, which were sanctioned by Theresa May. It has been reported that the UK’s contribution to military strikes was to fire eight ‘Storm-Shadow’ missiles at an alleged chemical weapons facility, each of which cost £790,000 ($1.13 million) – totaling £6.32 million ($9 million). The missiles were manufactured by BAE Systems.”

However, my interest was generated as a result of the many experiences I had with my fellow Barbadians, especially the women. While the average Bajan male is only observing the woman’s ass and hips, I for one when I’m out and about can’t help but notice how these people are so kind, gentle and sweet to others but their fellow black cousins. No surprises here. It confirms our suspicion and mistrust of the British establishment during the torrid 1940’s -1980’s and beyond. The UK establishment have always had an agenda for their Afro Caribbean residents. The shredding of the landing documentation for this group of invited British subjects was a deliberate act of sabotage. The establishment was aware of the consequences that such an irreversible action would have had on the lives of those affected residents.
There was a period when Britain became Great Britain by acting ruthlessly; Royal Britannia ruled the oceans and almost half of the territory of the world. The legacy of this period remains ever present in the mindset of the British establishment. They have no intention of allowing this group of ex-slaves to rest peacefully in the “mother” country and will continue to harass and provoke them to such an extent that perhaps – one day – Afro Caribbeans may volunteer themselves for repatriation back to their island homes.
Having recently spent a long period in Barbados i can inform you that Barbados is ill-equipped to build a fortress for her majority population. Perversely, it appears intent to allow for the influx of a rampant and a cocky set of foreigners who have nothing but disdain for the local population. I observed first-hand how the Afro Bajan is being muscled out in Barbados.
We as a people need to rationalise and contextualize our position in this world. Without a strong base we will eventually lose the roof over our head. Stories such as this reminds us that Barbados needs to earnestly reassess which direction it wants to take. By opening up the country and by creating conditions that favours her non-black population, Barbados is in danger of disenfranchising her people and their rights to live in dignity within their own country.

I agree with the first sentence and have said as much about the Referendum, the revival of Enoch Powell’s speech by the BBC, the campaign for the return of stop and search, etc. I do not agree with the rest of it. I say again, the outcome was not pre-planned, but an unintended consequence of the policy of digitalisation. The policy was based on the Tories fear of UKIP, which is why Theresa May wanted to be tough in 2010. But the two are a coincidence – the hostile policy and the burning of the documents.
As to calling black people bastards, that still happens. Legislation removed it from the public place, but we all know it till goes on. When challenge, black people are called aggressive or having chips on their shoulders. In short, it has become a bit more sophisticated.
